The rooms were beautiful and the view was beautiful from the rooftop suite. The restaurant staff was very attentive and the food was delicious. Our host, Jesus, was outstanding. He gave our whole experience his utmost attention. We would definitely stay there again.

The front desk staff, especially Jesus, and housekeepers were great, rooms are excellent, some quirks….water you have to take to refill, limited coffee provided, no new towels provided. Not a big deal, but also not expected in a Michelin rated hotel.

The restaurant though, it’s hard to even know where to start. Food is poor quality, very expensive for what it is, and very limited in the options you have. Skip the ceviche, it’s not worth eating. Service is slow and the bare minimum effort is provided. Food concept and offering does not match what the hotel website discusses. Needs serious work from the management down.

We were there during the superbowl sunday, and nobody mention it to us after the initial offer for a free diner we declined.

Excellent service by a young, diligent, respectful and attentive staff. Important mention to Jesus, Miguel, Cayetano and Axel.

The warf is a special touch to an already piece of paradise.

Jesus was the highlight of the facilities. Great attitude, always helpful and friendly. Hotel was nice and had good AC, hot water and good views.
Not many restaurants around, Umbal the restaurant at the hotel was decent for the price, BSKY was terrible at the sister hotel Mereva, steer clear of that place, Icaro at Bespoke was phenomenal! Really such good quality and service for a similar price point.
We had massages at the hotel which were good. There is construction next door so weekdays were kind of loud.
Awesome selection of free stuff, kayak, snorkeling gear, etc. loved the calmer waters from the barrier reef.
Had a private dinner on the pier which Miguel set up for us and had good food/service. Nothing out of this world but good food nonetheless.
Loved walking the beaches to find interesting corals and shells.
Big thanks to Jesus and Miguel for a great experience.

Stayed here in June. Staff was kind, room was clean. Unable to swim at the beach at that time of the year due to sargassum but they also have pools. We had the suite with a pool on the rooftop and it was worth it. Property was quiet and we only saw 2-3 other guests during our 4 night stay which is what we were looking for. Peaceful place.

The amenities were perfect and getting the rooftop suite with plunge pool was perfect for my bday weekend! Food was always fresh complimentary bkfst was more than enough. I have sent a separate email, but I wanted to draw attention to some of my main concerns regarding Nerea. The photos on your website and Google reviews did not reflect the actual look of the property. The beach was rocky, the water was full of seaweed, and the docks were in disrepair. Unfortunately, we had to leave Tulum early due to an emergency, however, we do not think we would have stayed for the entire booking at all. Thank you for your time.

5 stars is not enough for this beautiful oasis. The property is absolutely gorgeous with a boho tropical vibe. The food is fresh, flavorful and healthy. My room offered a private rooftop pool that overlooks the sea. However, my favorite part of this location was the fabulous staff. Thank you to everyone, especially Jesus, Oscar, Miguel, and Javier. I appreciate all of you for treating me like I was VIP and making my birthday so special.

Construction in front of the hotel and a very smelly room, unable to vent the smell out. Probably went all out with some perfume to cover the smelly bathroom. Complained about that the first night after check in. No reaction from the hotel. Hard to breathe inside. Can't imagine somebody with asthma staying there for more than a couple seconds.
Active construction site was discovered right in front of the door to our room. There was no information about construction on hotels.com or the hotel's website.
Complained about the construction and unabated smell around 11am the next day. No reaction from the hotel for almost an hour so I booked another hotel and packed. When we were just ready to move the bags out of the room, 5 minutes to noon, they offered another room in the same hotel. When I said we are already moving out, they offered a room in their sister property, but at that time they already lost my trust and we had something else booked up.
Last but not least, the furniture in the room was in a bad state. One table completely fell apart as soon as we tried to move it. The chair had a screw too long, protruding into the seat, so when you sat in it, you got impaled in your glutes. Overall, not an experience worth $500 per night and the hotel refused to refund unused nights, claiming non refundable rates we booked. I don't think that should apply to an unusable room (smell, construction and overall state) and careless front desk. Can't recommend.

We had no heated water while there, even with many attempts of the maintenance people to fix the issue.
There's no sidewalks or even paved street in front of the hotel, so during rainy weather is a completed mess and unsafe.

We returned to this area of Tulum after our stay at one of the sister hotels, Mereva, last year. The area is quiet and more private than the busy Tulum strip which we prefer. Nerea is a bit more lively than Mereva. We stayed in an oceanfront room in April. If you want to avoid seaweed best to come before April or after September. The weather was perfect. Staff is great. It’s safe, the food is wonderful. Great pool and lounging options. Only thing I’d say as constructive criticism is the beach area was a bit neglected - it didn’t get raked in the morning like they did at Mereva, and staff didn’t seem to be picking up finished beer bottles, cups as frequently as I would have liked. There could have been a bit more maintenance too like weeding around the beach. Would make a big difference. Overall this is a great hotel, great location, great staff and great food and I’d recommend. Would also recommend the Tucan Kin shuttle from the airport and the Tulum ruins / snorkel tour with the included lunch option - it was top notch.

Everyone on the property was completely nice. The only complaint I have is how they charge for absolutely EVERYTHING! My 1st night I ordered the lamb and it was lamb leg, not what I thought or what I’m used too but of course I tried it, didn’t like it. Took one bite, asked the lady if I could change and she said of course but you still have to pay for this. So, I did but didn’t order anything else. Water $12! Everything is extremely high for no reason. Just understand that nothing is free or cheap.

My husband and I were purely sold on Nerea and making this our go-to getaway spot in Mexico, however upon our last day a staff member by the name of Ivan had lied and stole the fish we caught on our fishing tour. We instructed him to keep the fish in the freezer and we would take it back home with us. Instead he told the kitchen staff we said he could have it. It broke our hearts because we loved the location, our stay, and had a great time until the very last day we found out what Ivan had done. We made sure to tip and be friendly with staff however this was done to us.

When we reached back home, I unpacked my luggage bag to find that all of my gold jewelry was stolen. This jewelry was never unpacked or left out in our room. We suspect whoever cleaned our room literally went inside our luggage and took all of my jewelry including a Kate Spade watch and bracelet. So beware. Even if you take the necessary precautions, never trust a smiling face.

Was a great secluded place with private beach and dock. Very peaceful. Pool/hot tub was nice, rooms were even nicer than the pictures, staff was very accommodating and friendly. We will book here anytime we come to Tulum in the future. I would say as far as food though they have great breakfast, but lunch/dinner I would go eat elsewhere. All in all excellent place though!

Although it's relatively small, we loved how quiet and secluded we felt on the property. The pool is wonderful and snakes its way through the resort, and you're only a few steps from the private beach. Nerea is perfect if you just want to be somewhere chill and quiet. You can’t walk into tulum, but the staff is super helpful and quick to find you a taxi if you want to go somewhere. The whole neighborhood is also gated with a security checkpoint so you feel super safe.

My wife and I spent a week there in mid-March. The staff were extremely nice, friendly & great to have a conversation with. We value a location that is not too busy with tons of people & loved how quiet & peaceful it was due to not being in the flight path of big commercial airliners. The rooms were very clean and in great shape. Honestly, the only thing I could find that needed done was the bikes chains could use some oil. That's it! Even the fan blades were clean. It was very peaceful as there were no families with young children due to not being in a hotel zone(in my opinion). I definately would like to return some day. Truly a slice of heaven on Earth.

We spent 5 nights of our honeymoon at Nerea and had an amazing time! We got the rooftop suite with the dip pool and an amazing view. The bed was sooo comfy. The pool and gardens are kept sparkling clean. The staff there are the BEST! Ivan served us our romantic couples dinner on the pier which I highly recommend! Ivan helped make it feel really special. Teo served us breakfast and the most amazing cocktails at the bar. The menu was incredible and we loved everything we tried. Isabel was very friendly and greeted us at the front desk every day. She helped us with everything we needed with booking excursions. Overall, we can't wait to go back! We are a lesbian couple and Nerea was very LGBTQ welcoming.

PERFECTION. Beautiful location - quiet, relaxing, wonderful little beach and pier. Staff was the best - friendly, accommodating, warm. We took advantage of the free kayaks and paddle boards to enjoy the crystal clear, warm waters. There was a bit of seaweed the first day, but cleared up the rest of our stay, and they worked tirelessly to clear what had accumulated on the sand. Our room was beautiful and so comfortable. Parking and security made having our own car to get to the busier parts of Tulum and cenotes very easy. 100000% will return and recommend for anyone wanted to enjoy Tulum but be out of the way of the party zone.
