Our experience at Dreams Resort Tulum was extremely disappointing. At checkout, the resort added a $200 charge for what they claimed were “bodily fluids” on the sheets, when in reality, it was simply makeup. When we questioned the charge, we were threatened with involving the authorities if we didn’t pay.

We were traveling with a large group, and several of us were hit with the same $200 fee for various questionable reasons, which felt unfair and excessive.

To make matters worse, from the very first day, we received early morning calls (as early as 8:00 AM) pressuring us to attend a timeshare presentation. The constant sales pitches followed us throughout the resort and made it difficult to relax and enjoy our vacation.

Unfortunately, this experience left a very negative impression, and we will not be returning.

I would not come back to this resort.
Food:
- buffet has repeat food and nothing was really good. All dishes are just so so. The taste is plain ….half of the buffet are steamed, fried or grilled vegetables. The juice seemed like it was mixed with water. The fruit quality is bad most of the time, and there are not a lot of options.
- Drink: you can feel they are using cheap ingredients
- restaurants: french restaurant closes every other day. Italian restaurant showed it was opened on Thursday but when we came, they said it was closed. Seaside grill restaurant closes on weekends and Monday. Only Asian restaurants opens whole week but sushi restaurant doesn’t have a lot of seat, and one of asian restaurants charges extra $20.
Rooms: old but clean however, resort was having construction next to my friend room in the middle of the week but did not inform them in advance. The sound was loud and from 9-5, when my friend asked they said there were no room to change and ask if my friend would like to change hotel.
The resort kept sending us VIP package but honestly it sounds like scam.

The Dreams Tulum and Spa was a wonderful place to celebrate my wife’s 66th birthday weekend. The staff went above and beyond to make this a very special extended weekend trip on multiple occasions. Don’t DREAM about it, just do it.

Las habitaciones no están listas a tiempo. Te la entregan hasta 1 hora y media después. Ir a cualquiera de sus restaurantes es un desastre. No tienen un sistema o plataforma automatizado, todo lo hacen manual. La hostes es la que te lleva a la mesa y deja desatendida la recepción de los restaurantes. Pésima coordinación en restaurantes. La comida estuvo bien, pero las porciones son muy pequeñas, parece que es un menú de degustación. No regresaría.

Everything was nice. Arrived at night around 9pm. They welcomed us home, and gathered the is the luggage. Off we went on resort cart. Beautiful lit pathway, line with palm trees. Welcome, sash on the door. checked in with preferred club members and the festivities began. Served premium drinks. The next 3 days were wonderful, the all inclusive package was definitely a deal. Food was pretty good.Room was very nice. Dual balconies, by the pool, an our ocean view. Staff was very nice. Rooms were kept very clean. We recommend the excursion package to the cenotos and snorkeling

This resort is very average and not as good as the dreams in Punta Cana.
- it’s old and dated
- the restaurants aren’t very good and they’re often closed
- rooms need an update
- the biggest complaint is that there’s two pools and one of them is used all day as a party. Constant music, people drinking in the pool all day (and never getting out to go to the washroom),
- there are limited lounge chairs and they’re always “reserved by 7:00 am.
- lastly and not someting the resort can manage but there’s a huge sargasm problem rendering tue beach and ocean a smelly mess.

The stay was amazing! The staff was so friendly, Rodrigo at the front desk was so accommodating and helped us with everything! I will say that if you are in your 20s, there’s not that many things to do. It’s mostly catered to older people and children and the beach has a lot of seaweed with trash, not able to swim that much but the staff and the food and everybody was so sweet I would come back just for that!

The room was not good. I upgraded to a priority swim out and the lock on the conjoined room was broken the screen on the sliding door was ripped the safe was broken. And the worst part was no bar service for the swim out and the closest bar was at the other end of the property so having the swim out room was not worth it if you're planning on drinking. The food was not that good and the only thing the minny bar had was soda and water. I would not go back and wouldn't recommend. For this being a Hyatt property for me it was disappointing as I have always had better from their property's and paying to be a priority member I was disappointed as I just did not get that.

This is our 4th and best time at Dreams Tulum. The preferred club was well worth every penny. Manuel was incredible from the check in where we were whisked into a private lounge where we could eat and drink while checking in, no waiting. We wanted a quieter room and were able to move even thought the hotel was sold out, thank you Manuel and Victoria. Everything stood out, but Geyslor at the beach preferred club is very special, personable, warm and professional. We got a bed on the beach one of the days and enjoyed relaxing and being taken care of by staff. Even though the club was sold out there was no waiting, enough chairs and didn't feel crowded at pools or beach. I had teenagers with me and they enjoyed their time as much as we did. Also visited a couple cenotes and Tulum city which is 15 minutes away. Enjoy!

We had a fabulous time celebrating my 60th with my best friend at Tulum! Erik, Danny, and all the entertainers were so much fun! The food and drinks were great and we paid extra for Hibachi which I highly recommend. Everyone was so happy and very polite. All the workers worked hard to make our experience a memoriable one. This is our second time to this resort and loved it again. We did have a leak in our room but they fixed right away. I did hear that they are starting renovations in April which will be good since some of it is a little run down. Food is amazing and staff are very friendly.

Form the moment we arrived we were greeted with chilled Champagne at the door at that moment I knew that we were in the right place, and I wasn’t disappointed everything in this resort was by far exceeded what I expected the cleanliness the attention given to every guest, the entertainment offered at the resort till the last day it never changed. It was a beautiful experience. It was my first time visiting Tulum and I was not disappointed at the very least.

While our room got upgraded with a pool - it was much smaller than the original room we booked; with two kids we would had preferred more space over the private pool as it was so cold. Food was ok - Mexican restaurant was decent. This is an older hotel so you have to expect that the rooms and their conditions are older as well

The number one thing that stood out to my Wife and I was the customer service. The staff was actually happy to have us and you could feel it. The food and drinks were good too. The scenery/ aesthetics was absolutely beautiful which prompted us to do a great photo shoot with Enersto and was so good!! The photos turned out amazing!! Thank you to Isabella (Front desk), Juan (Bailsman), Erick (Spanish class), Benito (drink waiter on the beach). And of the housekeepers and plenty of other nice staff that we didn't quite catch your name but we felt your positive energy. The beach was beautiful and not much seaweed at all and they cleaned it daily! This was a Valentine trip for my Wife and I and you all exceeded our expectations. Gracias!!

We enjoyed several things with our stay - the staff was always friendly and eager to help. Our room was CLEAN and the grounds were nicely kept. We enjoyed several of the evening events. The restaurants were great and the food was delicious. Keep in mind, if you have an early excursion, before breakfast, you can order room service the night before and it will be delivered ON TIME and made to perfection!!! We did not take any children, so I dont know abt those amenities. One thing to note, during our check in, were weren't explained / advised as to what our package included. This was frustrating as we did not know we had access to other parts of the resort. Overall, a solid 4 on the rating.

The room was ok but it had six flights of stairs no elevators the food is very institutional no flavor and everything was cold even the hot food the beach had sargassum very bad for our first 4 days then it was better but the smell was awful.The staff at this hotel are very good but they cant make up for the bad food and beach we up graded to preferred guest the only thing good about that was closer room to the beach it is an absolute waste of money to upgrade! We spent New Years Eve here and unless you spent hundreds extra for the special dinner they did nothing for you for new years we wont go back very disappointing

The room was in serious need of updating. The toilet paper holder was falling off of the wall. The mirror had large black streaks down it where the plating came off the back. The toilet would run constantly unless you lifted the lid and made sure that the flappervalve was in place. The lobby had a chair with the fabric hanging down below off the bottom. However, the staff was nice at the hotel. The buffet was not near as good as other all inclusive that I have stayed at. It is good that it has the location that it does or it would not be worth staying there.

I had an amazing time at Dreams Tulum Resort — the property is beautiful, the vibe is relaxing, and the staff made my stay really special. The rooms and grounds were gorgeous, and I truly enjoyed the overall experience.

If I had one small piece of feedback, I’d recommend choosing the restaurants over the buffet — the restaurant food was definitely better in quality and flavor. Other than that, everything about my stay was wonderful, and I’d absolutely come back and recommend it to others.

The resort in general is great. The only negative issue I noticed is that for those who smoke there are only two places no very convenient. One is next to the lobby and the second one is behind the buffet restaurant and the security personnel are always asking guests to only smoke in those places. For people who smoke would be very nice to have more places close to the beach and close to the bars. Smokers are heavily discriminated. That is my opinion

The place is beautiful, the staff is great but the rooms need work. Bathroom and shower doors don’t close properly. At night I can hear my neighbors entire conversation. And I don’t know what would posses a company to reuse old chips at a Buffett but it really ruined breakfast for me. I really like chilaquiles, tried a couple times in case it was a one off. Nope. Gross tasting chips that have been clearly reused day after day. I am all for not wasting food if it’s still good. The food was over all mediocre. In a place like Mexico where food is so delicious and affordable I would not do an all inclusive again. The best food we had the whole trip was on our day trip to Chichen Itza and the Senote. Then at the airport when we were leaving. Although a truly beautiful location as a Mexican/American I would not go back. This place gave slight cruise vibes where they are often trying to upsell you. Not a fan.

The thing i didn't like the most was they put me in a room with a dysfunctional jacuzzi, why would you put someone in a room that pays good money for something that doesn't work and try to downgrade me to something smaller??? That doesn't even make sense, before you put someone in any of these rooms, you have to make sure everything is functional...But that wasn't professional in my book

The hotel and rooms were dated, you can tell it's an older resort. The pool tiles and concrete were either breaking off or peeling. The main pool was also a little dirty. The resort could use a refresh. The food at the Buffet for Breakfast, lunch and dinner was repetitive every day, and would probably give it a 6.5/10 for the selection and quality. Staff were nice overall, but some try to take advantage and sell you overpriced premium liquor.. But I guess that's Mexico overall..

The service at this resort was 5 star (especially Alfonzo at the preferred beach), rooms beautiful and well cared for, the food/drinks were fantastic along with prompt room service on any request. There was a cockroach live in our restroom and there was dead mosquitoes all over the restroom and between the towels. I contacted front desk and they just said they were going to fumigate but didnt moved us from room. Every day we were there there was mosquitos or some kind of bug dead by the sink. They never clean the tub had yellow stains like pee we didnt used it cus of that. But they did change my room from what I had booked they gave me a king size bed no couch when I booked it was a king size bed with a couch. When I got there I had to upgrade so I could get a couch since it was me and my 19 year old and my 9 year old I had to pay $180 dollars additional to what I had already paid for.

Flight was cancelled, call and they would issue a credit for the day not stayed, got back and they denied it. No hot water, power went out only on our floor, water leak not fixed, reported and zero done about it. No escalators on site as posted, 2 dinings open,out of 9 listed the main one we wanted to go to, Seafood was closed for remodel. all buffet style but the French/open only 1 day and no kids allowed. No formal open. misleading information. guests blaring there music over the top of the resorts speaker and zero done. NOT informed of all our package included, the places ect we were allowed to go. Entertainment was nothing special. Room Service food was aweful. Cold and just blah. Very limited to order from. Dont book there excurtions, they do not tell you the correct information, pick up time was wrong, we had to pay 170.00 cash to get back to the hotel. Told us the wrong place to be for the dolphins so had to pay additional to do it. Workers at the dolphins said the resort does it all the time. No language barrrier, daughter-in law first language is Spanish. Just all around horrible experience. If you have a walking issue dont stay at this resort. Horrible dishonest facility.

Terrible Beach Full of Sargassum! Do Not Recommend

The beach at this resort was extremely disappointing. It was completely covered in sargassum/seaweed, with about 8 feet to get through before reaching the water. Disgusting. Since the resort doesn’t make an effort to clean it up, the entire area had a strong, unpleasant smell—similar to rotten eggs. I understand sargassum/ seaweed can’t be controlled and it’s not the resorts fault. However, all the resorts I’ve stayed at clean up the sargassum to ensure guest can enjoy the beach. Not this resort, they do not maintain their beach. Very disappointing.

My main reason for visiting was to explore their wedding venues, as I was seriously considering hosting my wedding here. Unfortunately, after this experience, I’ve decided against it.

On a positive note, the customer service is excellent. However, the rooms are very outdated, and the hallways and elevators give off a neglected, almost eerie vibe. The accommodations are badly in need of renovation.

Overall, I do not recommend this resort. For reference, it is about 1.5 hours from Cancun airport
