Right on the beach, great service upon check in and out. The bar was "closed?" at 5:30pm. Great AC and mostly private patio, cute trails and beautiful beach. Clean and comfortable room, no tv but didn't miss it. French toast was incredible for breakfast. Lots of available beds on the beach area. Cool water available from the front if you run out.

The property is beautiful and felt like you were in the jungle. The beach was absolutely gorgeous. The hotel was quiet and did not have rowdy patrons. Front desk service was excellent and addressed any concerns quickly. Would definitely recommend for a relaxing, low key vacation.

Areas of improvement include more attentive restaurant service, stronger alcoholic beverages, water/hot water consistency, drinking water stations could be placed throughout the property, and more accurate advertising of property amenities. There were areas of the property included in the resort map and website that were not open/accessible (market, beach club, Cleo, lancava, kids club, Berna).

Beach a few feet away from our room. Some rooms have a beach view. Only tried one of their three restaurants. Very good. Outdoor restaurant in a jungle setting with cool music playing. Walking distance to the Tulum archeological ruins. Taxi ride into Tulum costs about $15 dollars. During the day from my room I could hear some music playing from the resort next door. However, this would stop at night and was not too bad. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

I visited early this month and this was my favorite vacation ever. Absolutely beautiful room with ocean view. Staff were so attentive and helpful. No complaints. Walking distance to Restaurants near by and covid testing center. They really tried hard to keep the seaweed away which is not their fault. I very much appreciated that. I wish there was a pool and wifi in the rooms when outside was too hot but vacations aren’t meant to be spent on your phone so I get it. I’m definitely returning. Food was amazing too!

I loved the room and jungle feel. The breakfast was good and gorgeous views. All the staff was friendly. The only 2 complaints i had were the staff managing the front gate spoke zero english, making it very hard to communicate. The other is we wanted to switch out some fruit on the fruit plate (not have papaya more pineapple) and they said it could bot be done, which it clearly could be. So i wasted 1/2 the fruit, which was unfortunate.
Other than that we loved it, and we will be back!

It was quiet and we felt safe. Breakfast was included which was nice. Staff are very friendly. The beach is lovely lots of access to lounge chairs. We could walk the beach and enjoy other eating establishments especially the Mezzanine. The Tulum ruins are close by and visible from the beach.
A suggestion would be to have more affordable fresh water available. A fridge in the room would be nice.
Lots of activities and beautiful cenotes to see.
We walked to the hotel zone one evening for dinner and although we enjoyed the experience of the sights and sounds (lots of music), we appreciated the tranquility of Hotel Poc Na in the evening.

This was the absolute best vacation experience we’ve ever had. Poc Na and the beach that it’s on are literal paradise. It is not on the main Tulum beach strip - this side of the beach is quieter, less tourist-crazy, less expensive, and provides a more beautiful and authentic Tulum experience. The staff were all amazing - really kind and helpful. The Concierge, Genaro, was awesome and provided us with great recommendations. Our room was spacious (we had a partial ocean view) and was cleaned well each day. The food at Ramon (the main restaurant) was actually quite good! Breakfast is provided and you pay for the rest but the prices were affordable compared to other places we went on the beach. The drinks were fantastic - highly recommend the Pina Colada. We will definitely stay here again when we return to Tulum! Thanks to the Poc Na team for providing an amazing experience!

Property is right on the beach--beautiful area. Beach side restaurant was very good--drinks were delicious. The room was spotless and spacious with a deck & chairs. Gorgeous view of the beach and sunrise. No fridge in room, but did have Nespresso coffee and hot water/tea service. Potable water available. Staff was very friendly and helpful. My only "complaint" (and not a big one) would have been the check in process. Room was not ready at 5 pm, but we just went down to the beach and had drinks. All in all we would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful bungalows surrounded by jungle and within a few feet from the ocean. Everything I needed to relax and reset: a hammock, a large meditation cushion, chairs and small table on a private deck outside my room.
There was a Nespresso machine and an electric kettle in the room
Free yoga in the mornings.

There's no TV / Wifi inside the room. If you crave electronic distractions, you'll have to walk a few feet to the oceanfront restaurants or the reception area.

Breakfast at Ramon's (onsite beachfront restaurant) was good.
The bubbly was pricey at $13usd /flute

Staff was very friendly and helpful. They offered guidance and recommended a car rental to make it to the ruins at Coba and explore the cenotes which turn out to be a great idea.

By far the staff was responsible for making this an incredible stay. My sister and I came to Poc Na to enjoy our last three days in Tulum on the beach. We were greeted by please t gentleman who checked us in and showed us to our room. The staff at the restaurant were so cool and friendly. The beach is maintained. Something to note: because this property is located in the Archeological Zone, it is government land and the government limits the WiFi receptors. So while there is WiFi in common areas, when it’s busy it’s not great, and you don’t have WiFi in your actual room. We got the option that was free breakfast and when we got to the restaurant my sister and I ordered what we wanted only to be told that was not a free breakfast item. I would have love to know this ahead of time. As a vegan, nothing on the free breakfast menu was available to me, yet I didn’t know that when booking through orbitz. Also, we chose a jungle tub suite and there was no hot water for the tub. The shower was hot but I couldn’t enjoy the tub like I planned. If staying longer I would have mentioned it, but we were checking out the next morning. Just things to note but not deal breakers for staying here!

Overpriced. One step above glamping.

The hotel is priced based on their beach area and view. At $400 USD a night we expected at least 4 stars, but what we got was maybe 2 and 1 step above glamping. The mattress was hard to sleep on, pillows terrible, dead bugs in the room that looked like they had been there for days. On the plus side the service was great and the beach area was very nice. We also loved the Japanese restaurant.

I liked the bungalow (B1) I am guessing its probably older building but it was cute and big inside...:) We could hear the ocean at night and I loved that it was so secluded it was guests only area .. it’s right on the beach but there is a big bush so nobody can really see you if you’re sitting on the porch :) it’s right next to a little grill bar which we sadly didn’t have time to go to but it looked nice .. they had a grill outside and the smoke (was very windy that day ) went right to our bungalow but we survived 😝 they have a dj playing there during the day ( it was pretty loud but we liked the music - only played max til 9 pm ) don’t think I booked a bungalow 🤔. I booked a room with a partial ocean view.. but this was even better surprise when we got there :)

BEWARE: Our room was not as described at all. It was a shoe box, not renovated (outlets pulling out of the walls), badly designed (had to move patio chair and small table into the room to pout our clothes on since there were no horizontal surfaces), no decor (dark, no hooks for towels). It was also not secure (broken door, no interior locks). A classic bait & switch from the online photos to what we got. It's a shame because the beach is great (although the beach chairs/pillows are a bit beat up), the restaurant and bar staff is great, the check in desk, not so much, where young people sit with their noses in their phones all the time, completely disinterested. The masseuse is great, but didn't even know they had one until our last day. I wanted to like this place, we are not high maintenance travelers, don't need A/C or fancy suites, but this was ridiculous for the $$. The room experience soured the chances of me recommending it.

Our trip was wonderful! The beach had a party atmosphere that wasn’t too our taste, however a little farther up the beach it was quiet and lovely. The DJ put his toys away at sunset which added greatly to our enjoyment being able to hear the ocean in the evening. Our Casa was hidden and private with a wonderful front patio our friends an us enjoyed. We all enjoyed the waiters in the restaurant, they were always eager to please even if we didn’t speak the same language. We had a mix of Spanish speakers and one non, we all muddled through just fine. Our bungalow was clean and lovely, huge doors that we opened upon sunrise and kept open while we were there only closing them at night. POCNA isn’t part of the hotel strip and is the number one reason we enjoyed it, it was more of the sleepy Tulum of yesterday before instagrammers took over.

It was lovely inside the room, but hard to navigate the sandy paths at night. Really loved how simple and beautiful the beachside bungalow was, could hear the ocean crashing and it killed me into a very restful sleep. If there was supposed to be WiFi, it was not working in our room.

Before you go fancy, get the basics of being a hotel right: a good bed with a good matress and good pillows. We got none of that.

It gets dark and it's hard to walk around the property and you can easily get lost.

It's one of the nicer properties on the strip. When we arrived they tried to give us a bungalow that would be more fitting for a hobbit couple. Thankfully they changed our rooms.

Toilet wouldn't really flush so I would have to use the bowl they put in front of the rooms to clean the sand off your feet. Fun times.

And when I asked for a half hour late check out they told me that it would cost another 30 dollars. That's Tulum for you. They try to suck tourists dry at every given opportunity.

This property is probably not worse than any others you'll find in Tulum.

Although we paid extra to get Airconditioning in Oceanview we did not get that.
We were told that we can either get ocean view or AC but not both.
We chose to get Airconditioning.
But our Airconditioning was not turned on till 5 pm and turned off before 10am next morning.
Rooms were terribly hot.
Hardly any amenities.
Terrible place to stay.
Lobby is a dump.
Entire hotel is full of dirt and dust.
Construction going out throughout the night and very noisy.

This hotel is a different style of hotel in comparison to your stereotypical hotel. I didn’t mind the uniqueness however there were some cons that I came across. The bungalow I was given was an “upgrade” which really wasn’t an upgrade (they told me this because the room I booked months ago no longer existed). I checked in the room and realized that there was no A/C and instead was a rusted air fan. I immediately asked for another fan. The room was clean and great location (beach front). The sleep that first night was miserable without A/c and muggy weather. The next day I spoke to the front desk gal about the lack of the A/C in the room and I wanted room with A/C and told me that I needed to pay 50% more for the upgraded room. On Expedia the room was going for less than what I paid for the original room. She refused to help out the situation until I stated that I was upset about the stay and stated that I was going to check out early and go to a different hotel. Then she upgraded us at no cost due to miscommunication and dueto my original room that was booked was no longer available

The hotel is going through a lot of construction so there's a lot of construction staff and some noise. It's on the beach but right now there's a lot of seaweed so the beach isn't as enjoyable. Reception was small, it's basically outdoors and they have limited amenities. Check in closes at 11pm so it would have been helpful to know as we barely made it in at 10:30pm. The breakfast is continental and you have to purchase other food items like eggs. They also take a copy of your passport which seemed odd... It could be a nice hotel, just be prepared it's more rustic then it seems online.

The only reason we wanted this hotel was for its location, and that’s about all it turned out to be good for.
It says it’s got a beach bar and 2 lounge/dinning areas- it does not, given there physically is a bar on the beach but it’s completely inactive and the staff didn’t even know anything about a second lounge or dinning area.
Wifi was hit and miss.
Staff were a mix of nice enough and incredibly rude.
Can only get cocktails on the weekend but they advertise all week.
Restaurant food was the worst thing we ate the whole holiday and also expensive, we hadn’t eaten the whole day and had been out swimming/ exploring but couldn’t finish the meals they were that bad.
And they rented out these bikes for 200 pesos each- flat tires, rusted through and falling apart.
Oh and the toilet leaked constantly, I told the front desk lady 2 times and she nodded but nothing ever happened, the floods were pretty slippery from it and we fell a few times.
24 hour desk was something to laugh about too, I think I only saw it staffed a couple of times the whole stay.
Overall I’m glad we only wanted the view or we might have felt very ripped off

Absolutely Beautiful! . Everyone speaks great English. The room is so cultured, just how i like it (No A/C, no TV, no Wi-Fi unless in common areas, comfortable bed, very clean bathroom, clean sheets and towels daily). Hot water works, they have great tequila. I feel the ocean breeze as I sleep. Security on site 24 hours so if you're on the beach taking a midnight stroll, you know you're safe because there's always someone around (staff). Food is great at the hotel, sand based floors in restaurant. I have absolutely NO complaints! Don't know why this is a 3.9 star hotel, should be 5+ stars.

Fine hotel, but too much work going on.

Much construction work is going on at the moment (July/August 2018). We were not warned about that, so seen in that perspective: overprized!.
Sound of a chainsaw, jumping amongst the poor workers who tried to do their job, sapwood lying all over etc, etc.
Workers just outside our windows doing work on the concrete/base of the house.
Good breakfast and a very skilled chef in the restaurant.Good food.
Be aware of the PEMEX gas station just 3 miles from the hotel. We experienced scam with our credit card. The workers seems very kind and talk to you all the time. Trying to pay with your credit card and they say its not working and make you pay in cash. DONT TRUST THEM and check your account before paying in cash or ask for the documentation of the credit card refusal.
It would be a good service from the hotel, to warn customers about this scam!

No internet availability in rooms, we needed to do some work while we were there so had to go & sit in the restaurant. Restaurant is not connected to hotel & couldn't charge anything to our room.

Stayed in bungalow 1, which is beach front, great room if you want the beach just steps away from your room. The inside of the palapa can use a dusting. Curtains are see through. Restaurant a bit over priced. The staff is great all around from servers, to housekeeping to security. They have day/night beds which were great to see the dark skies and take a nap under the stars. Overall, great stay during low season in early June. Always found parking on site.

Get away!

Great hotel right on the beach. Our bungalow was about 100 steps from the water and 30 from the beach beds. This hotel is very cute. Staff was good, A/C worked good enough and room space was more then enough. The only issue we had was that the bed was hard and the pillows too. Aside from that everything was good. Great for families and kids. If i could sleep in a hard bed i would return.

Best beach in the area. This place is amazing, it is just that we went at the wrong moment. Hotel was under construction and seaweed was all over the place. As I said, we went at the wrong moment, but any other time would be spectacular, especially the beach. Rooms are clean and beach front. Breakfast was good. I definitely recommend this place.

Beautiful but not perfect

Wow, what a view! Right on the beach, private without being lonely. Loved the nearby town of Tulum and renting bikes to get there and visiting the ruins. It was all adorable. The staff was friendly, but we had trouble understanding some of the hotels policies with beach towels and the little beach beds in front of the rooms. Restaurants on the beach are over-priced compared to town, but it's fun to eat with your toes in the sand, and are similar to what we pay at home. We had some wildlife around and inside the room, little lizards and things, nothing too scary though. My biggest complaint is that the bed in the room was very stiff. The one on the beach was softer. The room was tiny, but that worked for us because we travel light. Overall it was a wonderful experience and I would stay there again, especially if they invest in some mattress toppers.

**BUNGALOW BEWARE, We got ROBBED**
My girlfriend were staying in bungalow #1, right by the beach. We were sleeping with the screens open as well as sliding screen door open, to have some breeze in the room(there are no A/C units in the bungalows). I woke up around 6am to notice my cell phone was not on the nightstand right next to my bed. Then I noticed my money($500 USD), credit cards, ID and money clip were also missing. The screen door was halfway open and we noticed several sandy ‘boot’ prints on the floor INSIDE my bungalow. We immediately notified the front desk and asked for the police to be called. I asked to speak to the hotel manager and was told ‘it was his day off.’
The police took a report but I was not really sure what my options were as everything was in Spanish and only one of the hotel staff spoke very little English. The rest of the staff were younger men, all wearing boots. I truly believe this was an inside job. Any bum off the beach would have been barefoot.
As for the lack of support/compassion or whatever you want to call it from the hotel, I highly DON’T recommend this place to other guests.

Beachfront Cabana Stay

The Hotel Poc Na is a rustic property on the Tulum shoreline. The restaurant has a sand floor and overlooks the ocean. The kitchen serves surprisingly good food. The resort is composed of various bungalows in a tropical setting. Our unit was described as “The Sunrise Beachfront Cabana”. It’s tiny floor space contained one bed and one lamp table and nothing else. There were no lamps, dressers, closets or chairs. The wall outlet for electric plugs fell out leaving a hole overlooking the outside garden path. The entrance door could not be locked from inside the room so there was no security at night while sleeping. For this miserable accommodation we had to pay approximately 400USD. Do not stay here at any price.

We absolutely loved our stay at Poc Na. Our room was basic, but very comfortable and clean. The breakfast included in the room rate was fabulous, as was the food/drinks at the restaurant and bar. The entire staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. You really can't beat the location, and the hotel provides guests with access to cabanas on the beach complete with food and beverage service. If you're looking for luxury and amenities then you're better off staying somewhere else, but if you want a secluded and relaxing beachfront paradise with a friendly vibe, then Poc Na is perfect.

Dissappointing

Looks very attractive on website. But it lets one down in the details. Firstly it is expensive for Mexico in general, but not in the Tulum/Cancun bubble. One expects high standards for the price. Hotel seemed to be on a tight budget and seemed to funded from cashflow/extras. Some of the disappointing details.No wifi in rooms, just in the restaurant area. Aircon in rooms limited to 8pm to 10 am. There is reconstruction happening, albeit low key and unobtrusively, but our rooms area was not fully outfitted. Plasterwork going on outside. No chairs for balcony, so we had to ask. Hotel loungers/shades on frontage are extra . Hiring bicycles is extra. Beach was covered in seaweed (a general problem for all the hotels here). The ´gardens´ are simply local trees growing out of the sand dunes. Dinner was tasty but expensive. Continental breakfast is basic but fine. Staff were generally indifferent, catching up on their social media.Upside is that it is a reasonable walk to Tulum Maya site, and local craft beer is available

Little beach paradise

Our bungalow was right on the beach with easy and private access. Room was very comfortable and just a fan was enough for a warm "winter". Staff was very friendly, polite and accomodating. We loved the hammock right ouside of our room with a view to the ocean!! A downsize of the experience is that they were renovating the place so sometimes we could hear and see the construction.

A little piece of paradise

This place is magic. I have searched and searched for a little shack on the sand and I finally found it. Ten bungalows literally on the beach, perfection. The hotel manager Diego is awesome and his staff will take care of all of your needs. Be prepared for a rustic vacation with no TV, no WiFi and No cell phones. Just picture perfect beach, amazing food and relaxation.

It was a laid-back, small hotel close to the beach

My husband and I had a lovely experience at Poc Na. We were looking for a relaxing getaway from cold NJ winters. Hotel Poc Na was just the place! We stayed in Casa 7 which had a beautiful ocean view. The path to the room was lovey - full of trees and plants. It felt like we were staying in a jungle! The room was recently updated and was a comfortable place for a peace night's sleep. The beach was absolutely stunning - powdery sand & bright blue water. The beds & cushions on the bed for relaxing & tanning were lovely - a huge plus for staying here. We loved how close we were to the Tulum ruins (right down the beach!) and the fact that we were on the quieter side of Tulum. We were only a few minute taxi ride or a short bike ride from the "hustle and bustle" of the hotel area of Tulum. We hope to go back soon!

Loved every moment of out stay: falling asleep listening to the sound of the waves! Beach is breathtaking, weather great, little bungalows like a dream. Continental breakfast included is plenty and served in this charming stone-wood-cement pavillion. Dreaming to be back!

My fiancé and I stayed here for 6 nights. We stayed in an ocean view cabana (with a private bathroom) which was amazing! If you have never been to Mexico or someplace similar, it is important to note this is more of a rustic hotel-not a resort. For us it was perfect because we were literally a few steps from the beach. The beach had a very nice setup with lounge areas and tables to sunbathe and eat on. They provide food and drink service to you on the right on the beach, and all of the meals/drinks were ordered were delicious. If you're looking for a moderately priced place without all the bells and whistles, but right on the beach (which was much cleaner than a lot of other areas we ventured to during our trip) then this is it! We will definitely be back!

By far the greatest resort my boyfriend and I have stayed in. The girl in the front desk was very nice. The hotel manager Diego was super comforting and very friendly from the moment we stepped into the resort, he accommodated us with a tooth brush (Hence, my bf forgot to bring one), a canon camera charger and recommendations on what to do while in Mexico. The rooms are beautiful, the views are amazing and the food is delicious. We will definitely be staying here again in the near future.

Having never been to Tulum, we were grateful we were on the beach. This beach club is on the National Park road and it is a fabulous beach area. Just 20 minutes from the Tulum Ruins, you can walk there on the beach and then on the road. Our reception person arranged a taxi driver for a half day trip to Coba and 2 underground cenotes for us. He was great! And she arranged a day trip tour with XTours to go to Sian Ka’an for us. The resort is undergoing some new construction with new rooms to be available soon. The Cabana we stayed in was fine, could use a little updating. Breakfast was nice. The beach area was fabulous with the lounge area being the nicest on the beach. Overall a great place to stay!
