Staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. Room was lovely and we slept very well. Gorgeous ambiance. We especially loved the breakfast and watching the sunrise with complimentary coffee. An added perk was the ability to use the cabanas at Mi Amor. Would definitely stay at Mezzanine again! Concierge was great and taxis were very easy.

When we come again, we will be sure to make a stop at super aki on the way in to pack additional drinks and snacks because access to convenience stores is limited as the hotel is in the national park.

WOW! What a beautiful hotel. We booked a romantic getaway and were very pleased with the excellent care and service from the entire staff. The restaurant was phenomenal, clean, and had a great vibe with ocean views. Steps lead right to the beach.

Top mentions are for Andy, Orchidea and Jacqueline. Their services and recommendations for local places to eat and visit were TOP notch!

Our only complaint (very minor) is that the hotel is inside a national park which means you need 2 bracelets at all times and a valid hotel reservation to enter the park after hours (not the hotel's fault). Other than that, We will visit again and it is an excellent place to stay.

It’s beautiful inside the national park. However this is not a 5 star property. It’s nice, quiet, beach accessible property for a night. The ruins are pretty close by. The shuttle helps you go up and down in the national park. If you want anything party scene, you have to go to the other side of the town.
About the experience at the property - few things
1. The service is good
2. The breakfast/coffee basket that they provide is very underwhelming. The milk is given in glass jar and left outside for an hour. The coffee became cold. It was not something I expected from an hospitality industry.
3. The Thai restaurant is very slow, took forever to prepare our lunch and our taxi left, they didn’t even inform us.

Small boutique hotel with 9 rooms set in the controlled Jaguar national park. Setting is relaxed and calm, so don't expect a vibey party atmosphere. Great for honeymooners and couples that want a relaxing holiday with beach access. Bear in mind you will need to pay an entry fee into the park daily, for upkeep of park infrastructure.

This boutique hotel is beautiful and intimate. The staff are so amazing and attentive. Extremely helpful with everything we needed. We had challenges like our cellphones not working with WhatsApp with communicating with our tours and transportation and Jaqueline and Orquidia were guardian angels just calling and setting up all our arrangements everyday making sure we had our wrist bands, our transportations and made our visit run smoothly during our entire week stay in Tulum. The Thai restaurant was so delicious and the ambiance and dim lights and decor at night made it very romantic and calming. The daily coffee delivered in a cute basket was delicious. We took the basket with us every morning to watch the sunrise right in front of mezzanine hotel. The private beach access is so peaceful with not a lot of people on the beach so really relaxing. The hotel has lovely hammocks and swings that we enjoyed during our stay. The bed was very comfortable and the hotel is very well kept and maintained. I loved feeling very safe because the entrance to the private hotels like mezzanine stops everyone in the front entrance of the national park to ensure safety with the military security standing on guard so I knew I was in a safe environment . The sunhats, beach bag, umbrella and water thermos that come with the room are so useful to have for everyday beach lounging. It’s a nice touch they have in all the rooms. We booked this hotel last minute for our honeymoon. The morning before, by noon we received a call
That there was a mistake with the availability and were given the option to move to the sister hotel in Tulum, LA ZEBRA.

We were taken care of, beyond expectations! Ricardo and Juan Carlos really took care of us to make sure our one night stay went well. This hotel staff does an amazing job, the hotel is really nice and clean, nice decor, nice beach access, delicious food and great drinks!

Our upgraded room had a small private pool, big sliding doors with ocean view and a huge shower, A/C and a super comfy bed. We wilL DEFINITELY be returning here.

Not Adults Only !!!!!

The expectation was high for this advertised as Adults only hotel while we planned our couple romantic weekend getaway. The Tulum standards are little different from the general hotel’s category. Location was perfect, stuff very busy friendly and responsive however the villas are very poorly built with some safety hazards like a wobbly glass protecting the balcony. The bed was squeaky and the mattress and pillows extremely uncomfortable. Pool… what pool….. just a joke. It was of season and it looks like they have allowed families with children book rooms and they have children running around the whole time. This has completely ruined our experience and we have confronted the management. Without any questions they have agreed to move us to the other Real Adult only hotel Mi Amor however have not been able to provide us with the ocean front room as we have originally booked. For the amount we paid we have felt like we have been ripped off.

We stayed in room #10 which was one of the two suites. It has a large porch with 2 lounge chairs, 2 small chairs & table, and a large hot tub. The porch overlooks the restaurant, the beach, and the ocean. The views are gorgeous. We don't usually spend a lot of time in our room when on vacation but we did this time! The hot tub was just such an awesome place to hang out! (The hot tub is kept cool during the day while it's hot and warmed at night per request) The hotel sits above one of the nicest beaches in Tulum. This beach is sandy and has no rocks. Many Tulum beaches have many rocks which are tough to walk on. I also loved the hotel's one restaurant. It serves a regular breakfast and then thai food for lunch/dinner. The food was delicious! The staff were all happy, kind, and attentive. The hotel is in a quiet area which was perfect for us. We rented bikes to ride to Tulum to the more lively party areas. There are plentiful taxis but we didn't use them. The beach is full of snorkel tour boats. We booked a catamaran
tour out to the reefs. We saw countless rays and two beautiful tortoises!!! Anyway, this was the perfect romantic getaway my wife and I needed!!!

An absolute delight. They thought of every detail - from tea service in little coconut shells to even essential oil humidifiers. Even with the sargasso situation it was wonderful - and our beach ended up getting a bit less than other parts of Tulum. Quiet but still vibrant, a wonderful place to stay. Sad to be back and away from the hotel, this place was amazing.

Amazing hotel stay, the staff was so attentive to our every need. We came to celebrate a pregnancy and they went above and beyond to make our stay special. From little surprise gifts and morning tea and coffee brought to our door as well as complimentary sunrise yoga. This property has the best food of any hotel we visited in the area, is steps away from Playa santa fe and also has plenty of private relaxing areas. The hammocks below the porch are the best napping spot around. If you are looking to relax but still be in the heart of tulum this is the place.

Rooms have unique views to the ocean and overlooks a huge public beach.
Beware when booking a hotel in Tulum Beach, south side is extremely busy with the noise that comes with. North (towards the ruins), and where Mezzanine is, is absolutely more peaceful.

It's a beautiful hidden gem as described by others. It's perfect for a relaxing and quiet time if that's what you are looking for. Right in front of the beach. Going to sleep and waking up to the sound of the waves was amazing. Abdel was so helpful a friendly. Arranged a packet to go to a wonderful cenote which was the highlight of my trip. He arranged a cap to take me and bring me back. I felt safe throughout my stay. The hotel is so close to the Mayan Ruins that my friend and I took a bike ride which was about 15 minutes. The staff was always attentive. If you want the nightlife you can always take a cap, it's 30 minutes away but it really does not seem long. Another perk of the hotel is the food. The Thai food is amazing and honestly, it was the best food I had while I was there even compared to other fancy restaurants in the area.

Nice property. Restaurant onsite on a deck above the ocean. Good food. Nice landscaping around the pool. Interesting rooms. Very nice staff. We borrowed bicycles and road down to the Tulum archeological site – the only way to go! The hotel is at the very end of the beach. Walk down the stairs right onto the sand and stroll to other restaurants and bars down the beach. You can walk to the Tulum archeological site in about 20 minutes. You can see some of the ruins, but you can’t access the site from the beach. The only potential downside is that the property is very small and compact. If that doesn’t bother you, it’s a great place to stay!

Not the best experience after staying last year at the sister hotel “Mi Amor. The hotel is small and nice but needs a revamp. We had some issues in the rooms that were fixed promptly. The rooms by the front desk are very noisy, so if you are looking to relax try to avoid these rooms (5,6,7). You will be up at 6 am when the employees start the day shift. They are extremely close at front desk and by the employees office. Overall the highlight of the trip was the staff attention. They were great, especially Alejandra in the front desk.

We really enjoyed the Mezzanine Hotel. The location on the the beach/ocean is very unique and very beautiful. The service was excellent. Alejandra at the front desk went out of her way to help us with everything from check-in to restaurant reservations to negotiating a better price for us with the taxi driver. The rooms are plain, but clean. We were concerned it would be noisy with the vital being on an active local road, but things were fairly quiet at night. Overall, we enjoyed the hotel.

This place is beautiful. It's a small adults only hotel, which means more privacy and fairly quiet. You are literally right in front of the water and steps away from the beach. Mezzanine is a beautiful property right on the water with an excellent Thai restaurant. The staff are great and very kind and helpful. The only complaints are that it's somewhat far from everything and you need to take a taxi to everything which is 10$ each way, or else get a bike but generally everything is about 3 miles plus away. The beach would be beautiful if the seaweed bloom wasn't so bad. The nets are doing little to keep the seaweed out, unfortunately. It's not really nice to swim in right now but I would absolutely go back without the seaweed bloom.. check out their sister hotels, la Zebra is in a perfect location right near a super cool and super cheap taco place. And Mi Amor, also far from the center of town, is stunningly beautiful. The staff can help you book excursions and Taxis so it's simple and easy to plan things. The Taxis are all over the roads and very very easy to catch one!!

This was our first time in Tulum and we could not have asked for a better experience. Isaac, David, Mehdi, the waiters and bar staff...all exceeded our expectations. We were greated with warmth and attention, and never had to look to far for anything. We visited some of the other hotels in the Colibri group, and while they were all very upscale and trendy, Mezzanine had a feeling like it was “yours”. Like every morning we stepped out into our backyard. In short it felt like home away from home (the saying happened to have been engraved on the room key). If you’re going to eat at Mezzanine, bring extra money for the Money Bags because you’re going to want to eat them every day (sometimes twice). Crispy, creative, delicious little pockets of joy is my best review. If you stay here, wake up around 730am and notice there’s a straw bag filled with a pot of coffee, your add-in preferences, some delicious little sugar cookies, and a few of the ocean. The rooms are kept pristine, A/C (for those who can’t tolerate too much heat) work great, and enough room to stash all the clothing you overpacked lol. I cannot thank the men mentioned above enough for what was a highlight travel experience in our lives. So, thank you Mezzanine. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Great but Rustic...

The greatest pluses of the Mezzanine are its service and food. Both are excellent specially the kind and attentive service from David at the front desk. The hotel rooms are rather rustic which is in keeping with the general Tulum feel. Please be aware that some of the back rooms have no windows. The common areas by the pool are quite nice but since the restaurant is quite popular, it doesn't leave a lot of room for the hotel guests. Also be aware that the hotel is a 10 minute car ride from the busier hotel section of Tulum further south. This can be a plus or a minus depending on your preference.

We can not speak more highly of our time at Mezzanine. It really was beyond perfect. The location is just outside of the busier part of Tulum, which was desired. Many of the hotels in Tulum do not have a beach, there are rocks in front, but Mezzanine has a beautiful beach. The staff was top notch, with only nine rooms on site, they can really cater to your every need. When you arrive they personalize the experience and really allow you to explore Tulum how you'd like. The restaurants in Tulum are literally out of this world, we had some of the best food. I would explore them, Kitchen Table was our favorite, which is across the street from Mezzanine. Other highlights was dinner in Azulik, which is like having dinner in a treehouse - stunning! We rented bikes for two days and just explored Tulum - its only one road a few miles long and its such a beautiful mix of rustic and luxury at the same time. We will be returning!!

Perfect Vacation!!

From the moment you walk in you feel relaxed and welcomed. The concierge makes sure that your stay is a personalized experience - we were able to pick the scent of hand soap and essential oil we would prefer on our room. As well as wether we would prefer a coffee or tea basket in the morning - in our case I prefer coffee and my boyfriend preferred tea - not a problem both would arrive each morning!! David at the front desk was AMAZING! He was willing to help with every little detail - getting more towels, water bottles, organizing a driver to visit a cenote, giving us details about restaurants, setting up chairs down at the beach, etc etc - he never made us feel like we were bothering him and was more then willing and happy to help us. Our room was clean, beautiful and even better then the pictures online. Room cleaning staff were fabulous - they would visit in the morning, as well as a turn down service in the evening. We had an sea view room and I would highly recommend this if you are visiting with your aigndificant other. We were in room 4 and it was a dream - we could open our curtains and watch the sunrise from our beds!! The restaurant is also fabulous, everything we had was great and the 2 for 1 maragritas during happy hour are a must!! Between make sure to get the pad Thai!!!!!! Overall our stay met and/or in some cases exceeded all of my expectations. I would definitely recommend this hotel! Thanks Mezzanine for a perfect vacation :)

Mezzanine is a MUST in Tulum

Mezzanine was fantastic! David was very knowledgeable and was able to refer us to great restaurants and a much needed couples massage. The staff even surprised my wife and I with a bottle of champagne on our last night to help celebrate our anniversary. The food at the hotel restaurant is top notch and the staff is super friendly. Can't wait to come back for our next stay with Mezzanine.

The BEST place to stay in Tulum. This wonderful small hotel sits right on the beach. The ocean view or the suites are the best! The staff is amazing and will do their utmost to meet your every need. Highly highly highly recommend Mezzanine Hotel. The new patio area and bar turned out great and it was fun to see familiar faces of the staff.

My husband and I went here for our 10 year anniversary. Tulum and the Mezzanine made this the best expertience of our lives. The hotel staff, David, Laura, Mague, and Roxy were absolutely amazing. This small, boutique hotel was absolutely beautiful, the staff was impeccable and oh so friendly, and I will be coming back. The beach is sand but the hotel overlooks the rocks for a stunning few, and the beach is maybe the most beautiful I've seen (comparing to Spain, France, and Caribbean). Go to Tulum and book this Hotel!

My stay here felt like camping in luxury.. I wish they had a tv since after dark there's nothing to do you're pretty much forced to go to sleep early that's pretty much my only complaint.

The hotel is located right on the ocean where you can dine and have breakfast looking out on the water. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly and the food they serve it is delicious. you can easily park out front where they have someone guarding the cars. The air-conditioning is fantastic and the rooms are incredibly comfortable. You can borrow a bike or lie in a hammock overlooking the ocean. This place is just fantastic

Great boutique hotel on the beach!

We had a wonderful stay at the Mezzanine while we were honeymooning in Tulum this past month. This is a small boutique hotel with the friendliest staff! At check-in we were welcomed with margaritas (or drink of choice) by Gustavo. This was so amazing and very special to us, especially after a long flight and drive to Tulum.

We stayed in one of their non-view rooms which faced the street. We loved our room. It was a great price, was never too noisy and if we wanted to see the ocean, we'd just have to walk outside our room and turn one corner. Oh, and the housekeeping here is wonderful! Every time we left our room, whether it was adventuring on bikes into town or just hanging out by the beach, we'd come back to a refreshed/cleaned room. I appreciated the coffee they'd leave outside our door for us each morning, and the chocolates/hot tea in the evenings.

We were always greeted with a hello & smile by each staff member. David was always so happy to see us and very helpful with activities to do or restaurant recommendations. I also loved how everyone took the time to remember our names. It was an extra touch that was much appreciated by us. It was hard to leave the hotel to eat somewhere else because the food at the Mezzanine is great and their staff is so attentive! We wanted to eat everything off of the menu because it was that good. The prices weren't bad either and their margaritas were our favorite!

I highly recommend this hotel! I'm already telling my family & friends.

Everything where you need it; when you need it!

Everything, from the morning coffee delivery (with delicious seed bars) to the crisp new pillowcases with your tea in the evening and all the polite helpful staff, make Mezzanine a special place.

We loved that everything is so close.....the beach, shaded hammocks, beds and chairs, our room. We were provided with towels each day in a beach bag - even a hat it provided, in case you forgot! Also, this hotel is immaculately clean.

The restaurant food was delicious and beautifully presented on the plate. They have a selection of smoothies and juices to accompany each breakfast and we became quite addicted to those Thai Basil Margaritas at happy hour - we wish we'd watched the basil-to-lime proportions so that we could make them at home this summer :).

Perfect relaxing first visit to Tulum. Concierge was very helpful making all arrangements before our arrival and personally followed up daily. Felt like our private hotel with no wait for restaurant, deck chairs, beach chairs, etc. Loved waking to watch sunrise with coffee waiting outside our door and beach only a few steps away. Staff very friendly and accomadating. Great vibe at bar/restaurant. Lot's of great restaurant options close by.

The Mezzanine is in a great location right at a beautiful white sand beach with crystal clear blue water. The boutique hotel itself has only 9 rooms, is super clean, has an amazing, friendly staff, & a deck with tables, seating, hammocks, & a wonderful Thai restaurant. Definitely worth every single penny!

Amazing boutique hotel

We just came back from a week at Mezzanine and we loved it! Great setting with stunning views, great staff, and lovely rooms. The restaurant on site was wonderful- really great breakfast and Thai food!! I would say cocktails were a little pricey for you what you got, but that wasn't that big of a deal. Another downside is that breakfast wasn't served until 8AM, we are early birds and had to skip breakfast a few days during our stay so we could get out and explore and beat the crowds at the ruins and other sites.

Our room was really nice, and housekeeping did a fantastic job all week. The coffee basket in the morning was always a nice way to wake up, and the granola bites were delicious.

We loved all the decks and places to lay around and relax. The staff will also bring down lounge chairs and umbrellas for you if you head down to the beach. Mosquitoes were really bad- bring lots of bug spray!

The restaurant staff was great, we had some really nice waiters who made each dining experience fun! I did ask the concierge for a few things via email before our trip (anniversary dinner, and 2 dinner reservations at restaurants in Tulum) and they didn't know what I was talking about when we did arrive. They did make our anniversary dinner happen last minute and were able to make a dinner reservation for us, so it wasn't too big of a deal.

The beach was great, and it was nice to be on the end of the public beach so it wasn't as crowded as other hotels.

Overall, great stay!

Romantic get away

Wonderful beautiful hotel on the beach. It is in the forest reserve so there is less people and noise. You could choose to sun out on the soft sand or rock structures. Umbrellas, lounge chairs, and towels were always set up for us upon request. It is on the quieter side of the Tulum beach away from the huge restaurants, clubs, and other hotels piled on top of each other. We stayed in the rooms without a view to save some extra money. Our room has a comfortable King bed, AC, fan, safe, and armoire. Soap, shampoos, hair dryer, clean and spacious bathroom and shower. Bottled water and house cleaning provided daily. Coffee, tea and small nut bars included for breakfast. Nuts, chocolate, and tea provided with turn down service. Outside of our room there was nothing but excellent views. Lots of different quiet nooks to view the beach and have privacy to listen to the waves crashing onto the shore. The hotel staff was excellent, kind, and helpful in suggesting restaurants and excursion tours. The restaurant on site served breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Excellent wait staff, delicious Thai food, and strong drinks. There is a 2 for 1 happy hour on margaritas daily. Can't wait to go back!

Wonderful honeymoon in paradise

Only one word can describe our stay here: WOW. Tulum itself (especially this part of the beach) is amazing, a perfect place to spend our honeymoon. The beach is the nicest I've ever seen. But the hotel just made our honeymoon even better. All of the staff, from the reception staff, waiters, bartenders and security guards, were so friendly and helpful. We felt very spoiled during our stay, with welcome cocktails, 2 for 1 margaritas which we took advantage of most days, and the turn down service/coffee service in the mornings with sweet little messages. The facilities were beautiful, with lots of areas to relax and enjoy the view of the Caribbean. We loved it so much that shortly after we checked out and went to Playa del Carmen (where we were supposed to spend the last 2 nights of our trip), we turned around and went back to Mezzanine because anywhere else fell short. Thank you, Mezzanine and Colibri group for helping us have a once-in-a-lifetime honeymoon.

Nice hotel with a beautiful view. no private beach

This hotel was very nice and exceeded our expectations but the service in the dining rooms / restaurant was extremely slow and things were inconsistent. Also the view is spectacular although the beach is not private and has a public access area right next to the hotel so locals and all kinds of people can come there. That was a bummer and we saw some of the food from the kitchen that was frozen and cans of seafood. Not what you'd expect when you're right on the ocean. Other than that things were very good and we were comfortable and happy with the hotel and ammenities.

This hotel was more than we expected. Quiet, great staff, beautiful ocean view, and easy access to the beach, just down a few steps by the bar. We loved our room. If it wasn't for the ocean we could have stayed inside it most of the time. Coffee and a delicious fresh granola bar outside our door every morning! I read a lot of reviews and don't quite understand any low ratings. We would go back to Tulum and stay here in a heartbeat!
I've already recommended it to all my traveling friends.

The Mezzanine Hotel was the perfect place to spend our time in Tulum. After looking at so many hotels in the area, we were thankful that we discovered this beautiful hideaway. The hotel is perfectly remote and situated on a gorgeous stretch of the beach.

We honestly only left the property twice during our week long stay. There was simply no reason to. Everything we needed was provided by the attentive, detail oriented staff who made us feel welcome at every turn. I can't wait to go back.
