Rooms were clean. We had 3 people in the room. A queen beed and a single. There was no room for suitcasesor toiletries. Also a shelf in the bathroom would be helpful. There wasn't a place to hang a hand towel and only one hopk for bath

Central for us as we could easily get about, Theatre underground and national express all within easy reach. The hotel does need a refurbishment but saying that it was clean and the continental breakfast and service very good.

This is the second time we stayed at Astors Belgravia. Excellent customer service. They right away helped us with the luggage up the stairs ( no elevator ). Also helped us during checkout at 5:30 am! The room was very clean with nice drinks and cookies waiting for us. Location was excellent - minutes away from Victoria coach station and subway station. We highly recommend anyone visiting London to stay here!

Very bad experience, don't stay at this hotel! We had no heating for two nights with temperatures below freezing. They just told us to wait for the technician, and the next day they didn't fix the heating. They gave us a portable heater, which made a very annoying noise, ruining our vacation. Room 106.

I had a pleasant stay here. The customer service was excellent! the staff were very accommodating and tried their best to help when I requested a different room. I originally reserved a room with two beds, but none were available at check-in, so they offered an alternative room. The rooms are extremely small, which was the only downside, but everything was clean and thoughtfully prepared. They provided full toiletries, welcome water, cookies, and supplies for hot chocolate and coffee in the room, which was a lovely touch.
Another good point is that the hotel offers the best prices when booking directly with them, so it’s worth reserving through the hotel. Overall, great service and hospitality.”

Very quaint property in a really nice location, with a neighborhood feel and yet close to major attractions. The hotel was clean and had character. Our room was compact, as expected in Europe, but everything we needed. I found it to be a very good value, especially with the breakfast included, which is rare in London. I was allocated a ground floor room which was excellent as I have limited mobility. The bathroom was excellent with an easy access shower. The bed was comfortable and breakfast in the morning was varied with plenty of choice and healthy options. I will be staying there again when in London.

Peppery has an ongoing AC issue that management is dishonest about. Leaking AC ruined many of my belongings and we had to push for management to reach out to us regarding this issue. All four nights we slept with non functioning AC and portable fans which was extremely uncomfortable.

The hotel is pretty unique-looking as it’s a townhouse style. The staff were friendly and available 24/7, and the breakfast was good.
It was a quick walk to the train station and busses, and a reasonable walk to Buckingham Palace.
There are a ton of stairs if you’re staying on an upper floor (no elevator) and security was lacking as people who weren’t guests could slip through at night which is the major downside to the townhouse-style buildings. Staff do building checks in the middle of the night for security every now and then.

Pros: Room was clean. 10 minute walk to Victoria Station.
Cons: Room was small, maybe 8’x10’. Small closet, maybe 10”-12” wide. Small desk and small bedside table. The bed was shoved up against a non-functioning fireplace. In my 70’s and had to crawl in & out of bed by fireplace or wake husband. Bathroom is pretty, but no place to set anything down. Has a pedestal sink, toilet and nice shower. No hooks for towels, towels were left on the bed everyday.

Having been charged £30 to be able to get into our room an hour early, we arrived in a dark basement room, riddled with ants.

Luckily we were only in the room for one night, attending a concert in Hyde Park.

On the positive side, the location is fantastic and the air conditioning in the bedroom worked well.

The complimentary breakfast was ultra basic, but edible.

There is no AC or fans, the windows don't open up but a couple of inches. Our room was up eight flights of stairs, there is no elevator. They actually have AC units in the rooms but are in need of repair. This place seriously needs upgraded. Zero amenities, and not willing to fix anything. Good location, couldn't wait for morning to come to leave this hot sweaty place.

This property was a mixed experience for us. The positive - great location near Victoria station, it was in a safe neighborhood with nearby restaurants, nice breakfast. The rooms are small but adequate.The negative - they currently don't have AC working in about half the rooms.They do give you a fan if you ask but even with windows opened and fans at night we were sticky and it was hard to sleep. I also didn't like the fact they didn't tell you at checkin that the AC was broken, but instead waited for folks to figure it out. We heard multiple people complain to the front desk after checking in and we were not told either until we complained.The staff was overall nice enough but when I arranged the night before to get help carrying our luggage down the three flights of stairs to leave the next morning no one showed up, even though I also called the front desk (getting no answer) Like many hotels in the area there is no elevator so be prepared as stairs are steep.

They moved us to another room saying it would have AC but it did not, then moved back to the initial room so we could at least open the windows. The staff were really lovely and helpful. The hotel felt like it was in a safe residential area and was very close to Victoria station which was really handy. We were at a concert in Hyde park and were able to walk there and back safely.

The only negative comment I have is that because our room was at the very top of the building it was absolutely boiling. We kept the window open and had the fan on constantly. There was an air conditioning unit but it didn’t seem to work. Also the water pressure in the shower could have been better but it is an old building and we were on the top floor.

Overall though we did enjoy our stay and it was nice to have breakfast included too.

Check in day - we were put in an attic like tiny room, with the ceiling height no more than 190 cm (6'2), located on the 4th floor without an elevator. When I asked the receptionist Ellisa why the ceiling is so low, she said this is typical feature of 100-year-old Victoria buildings. They are tiny assets and have no gym, ice machine, ironing or laundry services.
Check in night - we found the sink and shower do not drain water down at late night. Called the reception desk. Told us the maintenance will not come until the next day. I requested to change to a different room. The staff Luckas agreed. He switched me to a room without AC (in hot summer of London). Interesting, the room's ceiling is at appropriate height as we normally expect. We were given a fan which helped very limitedly. remember they do not offer ice in the hotel. We had POOR SLEEP that night.
Day 2 night, we were changed to a room on the first floor with normal height of ceiling. Finally we got a normal room with a working AC and a working shower system.

The building is really old. There is kind of unpleasant odor in the bathroom.

I am curious how could this hotel is labelled as 4-star??? It feels no better a motel but costs your more than $200s per night. Ridiculous.
I do NOT RECOMMEND it.

Location is amazing. The bed was great. Didn’t find the breakfast very well. You are in England and the least you could ask for is an English breakfast. They only had some crossaint, bread, a very very hard boiled egg, some cheese and ham. Also our airconditioning was broken and when we went to ask about it they said we know but you are in the coldest room. If we have one you can have a fan tomorrow… we didn’t get one. So it were to very hot nights(it was around 25/30 degrees in London when we stayed there).

We loved the area, the hotel was clean and close to all major attractions.
I feel people should be made aware there is not a lift and therefor many rooms unsuitable for older people, we were first of all offered a room in the basement the stairs down were potentially dangerous and the room like an oven with no aircon.
The room we were then given was in the attic, with aircon however 51 stairs to be climbed, I’m 77 hubby 80 less than ideal.

Fantastic location in walking distance to Victoria train, underground & bus stations, plus Buckingham Palace and other main sightseeing attractions. Plus on a relatively quiet and charming street surrounded by wide range of restaurants, bars and cafes. Safe. Room v clean and having air con was a major bonus. Beds comfy enough, including the additional bed (3 room booked). Complimentary hot drinks and water in the room also a bonus and continental breakfast was great and range varied enough (eggs, croissants, cereal, fruit, cheese, yoghurts, etc).

The room they gave us wasn't the room i ordered online because they said we didn't check in. Our flight was delayed. The room they gave us smelled like mildew. Location, location, location.

The location of this hotel is second to none. Quiet and pretty area surrounded by restaurants and cafes. The breakfast is excellent, with the fresh croissants better than France. The staff are excellent, helpful and accommodating. Typical London, unfortunately there is no Lyft, and some of the air con units were on the blink, but staff were helpful with practical solutions. Will stay here again if in London.

We stayed during a heat wave (30 degrees) but the air conditioning was broken. It was unbearably hot in the room.

The room was very small - we had to put a suitcase on the bed, take out what we needed, and then close up the suitcase and stand it back up again against a wall.

On the plus side, the room was clean. The bathroom was small, and could have used a shelf or two, but was clean and functional.

The breakfast was quite good. Nothing hot, except toast, but plenty of choices,, enough seating, with a nice coffee machine.

The location was great and most of the staff was kind and as helpful as they could be.

However, this was the worst stay I’ve ever had at any hotel in my life.

I can’t speak for all rooms, but any room on their basement floor should be condemned as it is not live-able.

The heat level and oxygen level between their front office section and their basement is like night and day, even worse in the room itself.

It was a hot day and when we got to the room they told us the Air Conditioning didn’t work. The rooms temperature was at least 28 degrees Celsius and barely breathable. Significantly hotter than outside. They gave us a fan that barely did anything.

To make matters worse, we see a piss stain right under where the pillow is on one side of the bed.

The receptionist was responsive to the piss stain and sent someone to our room to change the sheets but nothing could be done about the air conditioning.

When the gentleman came to our room with fresh sheets, initially it seemed like he wanted us to change the bed as he handed me the sheets, until I asked if he could please do it, which he did.

We had a very early flight so it wasn’t going to be a long stay, just one night. I could not sleep in that room and sat in their very well air conditioned front office / lobby area for a good portion of the night. For the price we paid this is unacceptable.

If you book this hotel and you are given the basement floor, cancel immediately and avoid at all costs.

Our experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing and frustrating. The room had no air conditioning and not even a fan, which made it incredibly hot, stuffy, and uncomfortable. We were not warned about the lack of ventilation ahead of time, and the listing online gave a completely misleading impression of the conditions.

To make matters worse, the windows didn’t open fully, so there was no proper airflow. The room was so hot it was almost unbearable, especially at night.

On top of the heat, the bed was extremely uncomfortable—you could feel the springs through the mattress. And if that wasn’t enough, the hotel was very noisy at night, making it difficult to get any rest at all.

We tried to cancel or get a refund due to these unacceptable conditions, but the hotel would not cooperate saying that they would have to speak to hotels.com directly. We have filed a formal claim through Hotels.com, as we feel the hotel’s description was misleading and omitted critical details that would have influenced our booking decision. I even have video and photos of what the rooms really look like verses what their pictures show. It is completely different.

My only positive compliment is about the porters taking our luggage up 5 flights of winding stairs. They were very nice and apologetic to us. I know I’m not the only one who this has happened to.

Avoid this place if you value comfort, honesty, and a good night’s sleep. I’m being fully transparent.

Our stay was amazing except the air conditioner didn't work so our first night was very uncomfortably warm. Otherwise it was a lovely hotel, nice atmosphere and breakfast was great.

We should have been informed about no AC at check in, this was obviously kept a secret as someone else was complaining at check in and we presume this was the same issue. The staff knew this was an issue. Im sure this a reoccuring issue that should have been fixed before May when it starts getting hot. I would like a reimbursement. As for two nights we did not sleep. Do not agree this is a 4 star.

Very tight stairs. No air conditioning. We reserved 2 rooms for 3 people . They did not have air conditioning. The room were very hot. We moved 4 people in 1 room and 2 in another room. They offered a comp on our room for all the changes and a discount on the one with no air. They gave the discount but would not honor the comp or a discount. Our room was never cleaned. Every front staff person was different and didn’t know what was going on.

Highly recommended for a London visit! staff was awesome, lots in walking distance including train sta and tour bus stops. clean. comfy beds. hot shower. great breakfast.

The property is centrally located. No elevator. However the air conditioning and circulation did not work at all. The toilet didn’t flush and the sink would not drain. We waited for our request for help for 3 hours. We finally just checked out. They did partially refund our money through Expedia and we are thankful for that.

Good location for seeing things in Central London, but means location can be noisy. Room quite small for 3 people. I dont think the A/C unit was actually working. Bed comfy, pillows too flat.

The staff were exceptionally kind, welcoming, and always ready to help. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. Great breakfast.
The location is absolutely fantastic and a short walk from Victoria train station.
