It is a very lovely place for couples to reconnect with beautiful views of the 7 color lagoon. Breakfast was fresh and staff was very helpful and pleasant.

If we were to give a critique it would be to include face towels/wash clothes in the rooms and shower caps.

One of the nicest hotels I’ve ever stayed at the staff was really helpful. I like the fact that it’s a smaller property. My room had a beautiful phenomenal view. I like the fact that I was able to check out a kayak at no extra cost and it was available for whenever I needed it. I also really enjoyed the dock with the tanning buds. The food was also amazing.

Our experience at Amainah was spectacular! The property is beautiful and clean. The view from our room just breath taking, from sunrise to sunset, with views of gleaming Moon. Everyone in their staff is courteous and truly want to make your stay unforgettable. We had very nice conversations with several of them, giving you recommendations what to see & where to eat around town. Speaking of food, we ate several times at their deck, enjoying drinks and the most beautiful view of the Lagoon, we tried different dishes and all were very good. Pulpo a las Brasas, one of the best I have eaten. If you are traveling to Bacalar, this Hotel should be on top of your list... Altamente Recomendado, gracias Amainah!

This is undeniably a beautiful, design-forward hotel in an incredible location. The aesthetic is refined and serene, and Bacalar’s natural beauty truly shines here. The property feels high end at first glance, and the staff is genuinely warm and well-intentioned, which makes the shortcomings more frustrating—because this place has so much potential.

The biggest issue is noise and privacy. You can hear everything: conversations in the hallway, doors opening, and even neighboring guests showering. The bathroom design is a major contributor—the door to the toilet has roughly a ½–¾ inch gap from top to bottom, which offers virtually no privacy. Sounds and even smells travel freely into the room, and the door itself makes a loud noise every time it’s opened or closed. If someone uses the toilet at night, it will wake the other person in the room.

Service-wise, while the staff was pleasant and clearly trying their best, very little to no English was spoken. For a high-end hotel in an international tourist destination, this was surprising and often made communication difficult. There was also confusion around dining, particularly with dietary restrictions—staff struggled to understand that different people at the same table might have different needs or preferences.

Lastly, the private pool was a disappointment. It was cold—just like the main pool—and for the first three days had no circulation, leading to stagnant water and collected bugs.

The staff was super courteous. Everything seemed clean for the most part. The personal pool wasn't clean. It had a bunch of little bugs floating that you could only see at night.

However, I feel it's only right to say I'm missing a $100 bill from my bag. Also, i had to look closely at my bills before paying them. Twice i was being overcharged and had it corrected. They hold the cc machine so you can pay, but not see the invoice, while telling you the price.

Beautiful views and awesome lagoon!!

Le falta mantenimiento a la habitación, sobre todo al aire acondicionado. Estaba arrojando partículas negras.
No cuentan con suficiente agua caliente. Después de un baño había que esperar para que se calentara para que la siguiente persona pudiera bañarse.
Hay filtraciones de agua de la tina, el lavabo y la regadera. La parte del lavabo que no tiene muro hacia el resto de la habitación está mal pensado.
El personal en general es muy amable y servicial.
A cada rato se va la luz.
Los alimentos podrían mejorar.
Las camas del muelle están muy incómodas y sucias.
La alberca es poco atractiva, ya que su ubicación no es buena.

Reservé la habitación más cara que tiene la alberca y resultó la menos adecuada, ya que estaba arrinconada y con una mini alberca sin climatizar en esta época del año. En su descripción indican que esta categoría de habitación tiene una tina, lo cual no es cierto, por lo que pedimos un cambio de habitación (downgrade) y nos rentaron una con tina solo por dos noches.
También indican que el hotel cuenta con estacionamiento, lo cual también es falso, porque tuvimos que estacionar el auto en la calle.
Por favor corrijan estos datos en su plataforma.

I’ve stayed at Amainah Bacalar several times since they opened and generally enjoy coming back. The location is great, the adults-only atmosphere keeps things calm, and overall it’s a pleasant place to stay.

That said, there are a few things that keep it from being a 5 star experience. The balcony doors really need screen doors. In a place like Bacalar, you can’t leave them open without ending up with mosquitoes in the room, which is frustrating and easily avoidable.

What pushed this stay to a solid 4 stars was Pablo at reception. He was genuinely helpful, attentive, and made the check-in experience smooth and welcoming, which makes a difference.

Overall, a good stay with room for improvement, and I’d stay here again.

Con sólo 16 habitaciones, el Amainah es un hotel prácticamente perfecto para una estadía en Bacalar. Instalaciones, restaurante, bar, alberca... todo es sumamente disfrutable.
Dos detalles mínimos: Rentamos una habitación con alberca privada, el agua estaba fría, por lo que no la pudimos usar en la noche, como era nuestro plan. El otro es que los muros, todos en cemento pulido, rebotan mucho el sonido y, por la noche, los ruidos se magnifican; sería buena idea colocar algunos cuadros textiles, para aminorar ese efecto.

Room view was stunning and it was clean, but no chairs or other furniture in room. Open concept bathroom is less than ideal. Sound carried badly and noisy guests (especially one lady beside us constantly on her phone) disrupted the tranquility of the place. Another woke us up at 2a.m. The hotel is concrete with no furnishings which attributes to the sound issues. Breakfast/bar staff were fantastic. The front desk staff less so and communication before arrival was lacking. I couldn’t even get a confirmation of our reservation. Breakfasts were delicious.

The staff went above and beyond for everything...arranging massages, catamaran trips, etc. And the service at the bar and restaurant was so attentive and thoughtful. What a wonderful place Amainah is, in all my travels I have never seen an entire staff so fantastic! Our room was beautiful the breakfast that was included was incredible and the service was second to none. The view from our room was beautiful. The only negative is it's not very handicapped accessible there is no elevator and quite a few steps.

We spent two at Amainah and loved it. It's on the quiet end of Bacalar right on one of the most beautiful areas of the lagoon. The food was very good and it was nice to have the option to dine at the hotel. The vibe was very relaxed and it was quiet, as there are no children allowed; adults only. The staff was very attentive and friendly. And, of course, it was absolutely beautiful perched right on the lagoon.
