La ubicación solamente fue porque necesitamos estar cerca de los parques Xcaret pero si está muy escondido y tomar taxi es obligatorio a todos lados. Amazing!! Rooms were clean, modern, and super comfy. The shower had a rainfall shower head and the water was nice and hot. But most of all, the staff were spectacular! We were greeted immediately and helped with our luggage and even better…. Fanny at reception allowed us to feed bananas to the wild monkeys around the property! Which if you’ve only seen monkeys in a zoo you will understand how special that experience would be. Definitely would stay again!

The room itself was extremely dirty, with visible blood stains on the bed linens and a strong moldy odor. It was obvious the room hadn’t been cleaned properly.
Within a short time of being in the room, our child developed a rash, so we left immediately and booked another hotel.
This place was unsafe and unsanitary, and I would strongly caution anyone—especially families with children—against staying here.

Very unique property. Staff is super helpful and friendly. Made the stay comfortable. Helped us with getting to Xcaret safely via shuttle. Property is in the jungle so must be ok with bugs, lizards, iguanas and monkeys in the area. Lobby and pool were outside directly beside rooms. Bed was clean and comfortable, shower was hot. Nice and close the all Xcaret parks making it very convenient to attend. Would stay again if going to the parks! Thank you!

This property is small, tranquil, and just lovely. We have stayed at the huge Cancun resorts and this was our first time in Playa Del Carmen. We chose this hotel for its great reviews and close proximity to Xcaret. The staff at Terasu Riviera Hotel is incredible! We arrived late at night due to flight delay, and Fernando was waiting in the entrance for us and took our bags and walked us to our room. The next day we met Fanny at breakfast and she helped us plan our day at Xcaret. Fernando indicated he would walk us to the bus that would take us to Xcaret and waited there with us. Xcaret is amazing and the best part is the show that runs from 7-9 pm. We arrived on the bus and there was Fernando ready to walk us back to our room. A gentleman named Jorge heard our delighted reaction at spotting spyder monkeys at breakfast and he lured them over with bananas and allowed us to feed them. Another member of their staff, Enemencio went out of his way to provide us with anything we needed. Fanny arranged for a taxi to take us to dinner in town and gave us a restaurant recommendation that was perfect. We received a text that night from Fernando offering to send a taxi for us and we were so relieved as it got late. Also, we had no idea until our last night that their chef is so talented and we had the best dinner there! (Pizza made in a wood burning oven). Aside from the incredible staff, the hotel is set in the jungle and it is a refreshing change from huge, busy hotels with loud music.

My family and I had a great experience during our stay at Terasu. All the staff members were very friendly, warm, and welcoming. They accommodated to our needs and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The hotel itself was very private but close to Xcerat and Xplor. Not only that, we were able to feed monkeys during our stay and play with a very cute cat. On our last day, the staff even packed us a separate container of their house-made hot sauce and mangos per request. If anyone wants a quiet, peaceful stay, I would definitely recommend.

Terasu Riviera Maya Hotel and Spa was a wondrous place. It had the charm of jungle ambiance including spider monkeys always eager to eat bananas and iguanas creeping along to get their share of the bananas. The staff was exceptional always ready to assist and recommend suggestions to restaurants, ruins, cenotes and parks. I’m already planning a trip next year to bring my daughter and granddaughter to Terasu.

Amazing!!!! Like a little oasis! Way cooler than the area because of the jungle! So many monkeys that came to eat bananas! The staff provided us with bananas, and my kids fed the spider monkeys and the iguanas. The pool was excellent at night and the food at the restaurant, amazing!!!!

If you're looking for an adventurous day and peaceful night, this is the place for you. Its close to Xcaret and xplore theme park (walking distance). Close to main road, easy to take local buses to Playa del Carmen or Tulum. The staff are great, very pleasant and helpful. They speak Spanish and English. They have a pool to relax and nice feel of relaxation. They offer breakfast, unlimited coffee and wifi. During the morning, you can get awaken by a spider Monkey. They're friendly and cute for some videos and pictures. I will be back!!

Unique treehouse with monkeys you can hand feed and friendly, responsive staff. The resort is a solid 20 minutes from shopping and restaurant choices- so be prepared for regular taxi expenses if you do not have a car. This is not a “pamper” resort where guests lounge around the pool, but it’s a unique option if you have offsite entertainment plans.

Very quaint boutique hotel, with amazing staff, situated in the jungle, walking steps to Xcaret, Xplor and Xenses. Breakfast included and they have a restaurant for dinner. The facility was very pretty and seemed updated but the pool area was small, dirty and in the shade. We didn't even use it. Also, we had our family of four in the room with a bed and sofa bed. I slept on the sofa bed with my daughter and it had a wooden beam going across so I had to sleep with my head at the feet area to avoid laying on the beam with my hip. Very uncomfortable. Also, there was no blanket or comforter for the sofa bed. When I asked they said they didn't have any. The location is very far from anything so we had to taxi into to town a few times which was an extra $40 USD each way. Otherwise, the rooms, food and staff were great. And the outdoor lounge was nice and relaxing.

The staff was very polite. I wanted to like this place, but we ended up leaving early due to a few reasons. The room had a musty smell to it, sheets had stains on them and the worst part is that its extremely hard to find (even with the directions they gave us through whatsapp) We ended up getting super lost late at night trying to find it on pur way back from shopping. Google kept taking us in circles and trying to have us enter the adventure park thats next to it where we were approched by a guard with a gun. I tried to contact them about a refund but no answer. I would not recommend this hotel

Off the beaten path but exactly what I needed. 10 min south of Playa right in the middle of the jungle. This place was perfection! I can't rave about this place enough. My son and I went on vacation together and stayed here as an option instead of Xcaret and man am I glad we did. The staff is beyond fantastic! They make you feel like family! And if you need a taxi - they have a guy!! And he can drop you off and pick up! The pink house down the road is great for breakfast as an alternative to their amazing breakfast. We will be back to see Fanny, Nemesio and Fernando!!! :)

We loved every minute of our stay from the moment we arrived. The entire staff was incredible. It was super clean and quiet. Check in was a breeze and the staff was helpful the entire time. We were able to interact with the local monkeys the entire stay. We also met the sweet local cat Fernanda. Emilio's restsurant was incredible. Everything we ate was cooked to perfection with so much flavor. We recieved amazing massages during our stay. We walked to XPLOR park very easily from the back road There was a bus stop with 5 minutes to take us to XCARET. I have no complaints only praise to Terasu and family for making us feel right at home in their piece of paradise. We will definitely be back. Thank yall soooo much!!!

Terasu is a hotel in jungle. The building is not new, but the room is clean. The breakfast was simple, but the scrambled eggs was made tasty.
It's not too far from Xcaret Park. This is the reason we chose this hotel. After seeing the evening show at the park after 9pm, it took us 10-15 minutes to the hotel.
There is no public transportation to the hotel. If you don't have a car, you have to rely on taxi service which is quite expensive.

This place is very cute, in a cool jungle setting, and far from the hustle and bustle of downtown Playa, which was a little too loud for us. If you want to access downtown Playa, you are very near the Main Street where you can hop on a collectivo for $30mx. The breakfast and coffee was good. This location is an excellent starting point if you’re doing Xcaret, since the hotel is essentially on the Xcaret property. It’s walking distance to a few of the parks. And of course, monkeys. Everybody loves monkeys. We fed some bananas to the spider monkeys and they couldn’t have been cuter. There was a couple issues with power, but it didn’t affect us and was beyond the control of the staff, who were very nice and helpful. Thanks to the staff for making our Xcaret park enjoyable!

Some rooms are a tree-house type which are charming but not safe for smaller kids especially when it rains because the wooden stairs would be slippery. Also, the railing bars are widely spaced, enough for a small child to get through and fall. During my stay, it rained hard and my room's ceiling leaked bad which disrupted my sleep and drenched one of my bags. I appreciated being moved to another room, but the disappointment had already settled in. I also gave 3 stars for cleanliness because of a cat that sat just about anywhere including dining tables after it meandered around on sodden ground. Furthermore, the dining area is open to air like a large pergola. Its roof leaked during rain, its ground uncomfortably wet and, generally, just alot of rainwater coming in due to lack of walls. As for the rooms, there is no complimentary bottled water so you either take one from bar ref for a fee, or fetch yourself some free water from a dispenser at the dining area, so good luck when it rains or when it's pitch dark outside. There was no stirrer or spoons in the room, either, for the coffee/tea.

Hands down the best get away place. If you like peace and quiet, It’s a smaller place with nature all around. The staff is one of the best I’ve ever had so attentive and friendly from the moment you arrive to the moment you close your car door to leave. The atmosphere is peaceful the place is clean. The host were amazing helping us secure a cab that won’t charge an arm an a leg. They also give you recommendations to places based on your interest. We visited XCARET, the night guard waited outside with a lamp for us to make sure we were ok. At night they close the gates which made me feel extra safe and secure. Their restaurant staff amazing as well. I will definitely be back.

It is a sanctuary in the jungle. Easily the best place I have stayed. Breakfast is awesome, you can get lunch at a neighboring deli and dinner is out of this world. This hotel is a little treasure and i would absolutely recommend it! We checked in super later after being at Xcaret all day and when we drove up one of the staff came out to the car to greet us, carried our bags and showed us to our rooms.

Great location if you're visiting Xcaret or Xenses - it's just 5 minutes away! The staff is very friendly and courteous, they moved our room location to the one on the first floor since there are so many mosquitoes on the ground floor. The pool was out of service, but this was due to the Hurricane (Beryl) and understandable.
