We felt we were discriminated against based on a family member who is trans. I reached out directly to express my concerns. Their disappointing response is below. I contacted Expedia who said they will look into it but will not provide an update so it feels like they are not taking this seriously.

From the Saturnia:
\"We are talking about something that happened in 2025, that is, almost 10 months ago, am I right? It was a long reflection, I would say.

Our hotel does not discriminate in any way. We welcome people of all races, genders, and religions, and discrimination is not part of our culture. Our hotel staff is made up of people of all genders and religions. We have lived in peace with everyone since 1908, when the hotel was opened by my great-grandparents, and we have never received a message like this before.

Frankly, it is quite difficult for me to trace back to what happened in April 2025, but in any case, I can say with complete confidence that this can only have been the result of a huge misunderstanding. You must have misinterpreted something. I have no doubt about that.

We do not judge our customers in any way; in our eyes, we are all human beings/living beings, and that is the only thing that matters in our hotel always.

I don't think I need to add anything else, except to say that you should live with greater serenity, which is what we have always done with all our customers who have been coming from all over the world for more than a hundred years.\"

The breakfast was the best buffet we’ve had in Italy. The bacon was crispy. :) The bed felt like something we’d have in a Motel 6 - it was not comfortable. (We had the two twin option instead of a double - it’s possible they put a topper on when it’s a double bed.) The jacuzzi was ok - not hot, just warm. Jets were tricky.

This charming hotel felt like visiting friends in Venice. The location is excellent for conveniently exploring the top sights in Venice. Our room and beds were very comfortable and pretty. The hotel's multiple public spaces were lovely and relaxing. The staff was patient and helpful. We highly recommend this hotel!

Excellent hotel and restaurant. All the staff were wonderful and the room was spacious and clean (bath, mini bar and safe). Ivan and Valentino in the restaurant, in particular, were exceptional and catered to our needs very well, (we're interested in wine and have various dietary requirements including a nut allergy). The breakfast stood out, with a wide variety on offer and high quality.
The hotel is well situated for sights (but our of the bustle of the people) and the airport (esp. if you use the water taxi).

We really enjoyed this hotel and would like to come back.

We used the Turkish bath and steam room but we were a little disappointed regarding the temperature as it was a little cool for us.

My stay at this hotel in Venice was truly unforgettable. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel genuinely welcomed and taken care of. The property itself is beautiful—charming Venetian architecture, elegant interiors, and thoughtful touches everywhere you look.

The location couldn’t be more perfect. Tucked away just enough to feel peaceful, yet only steps from gorgeous canals, cafés, and some of the city’s best sights. Waking up to the sound of the water and enjoying breakfast by the canal felt straight out of a movie.

My room was spotless, comfortable, and beautifully decorated, blending modern comfort with classic Venetian style. The bed was incredibly cozy, the bathroom spacious, and the views… absolutely stunning.

What truly sets this hotel apart is the service. Every staff member I encountered was warm, attentive, and genuinely eager to help—whether it was offering local recommendations, arranging transportation, or simply greeting me with a smile. They made my experience feel personal and special.

This hotel is located on the fanciest street in Venice where all the high end couture shops are. We stayed in a quadruple family room with a separate room of twin beds for the boys. The room was great. My only suggestion is to bring converters as they don't have many USB or other charging areas in the rooms. The hotel has its own water dock if you want to come via boat.

I can't say enough good things about Saturnia Hotel. It is conveniently close to two vaporetto stops (Giglio and San Marco), so easy to reach with luggage. Our room was very clean, warm and spacious, with a sitting area and a desk. The shower had good water pressure and plenty of hot water. Breakfast was excellent. plenty of options and wonderful, attentive service. All the staff were very professionnal and friendly. I would go back in a heartbeat! Highly recommend!

Loved loved this property! Walkable to everything in Venice and water taxi if wanted to go further. Terrific breakfast included and bar if you wanted to chill after a day of sightseeing.

We took advantage or the direct water taxi to the hotel. Was a great introduction to Venice. Mirko set this up. Mirko also gave us a coupon for a tour at the glass factory and we saw a demonstration of the Murano glass blowing. He is fabulous! Friendly and very helpful. He did get a bit frustrated with me as I wanted to use my phone directions to get to the water taxi. He encourage me to put down the phone and listen to him. Thanks for trying Mirko but I was nervous about navigating the streets to get to our tour in time.

Overall would definitely stay at this hotel again. Beds very comfortable !!

Staff was friendly and welcoming. The concierge was especially helpful, taking the time to walk me through everything on the map. Our room was very clean, and we loved that it had two full bathrooms and three sinks—a huge plus for a Triple room. Breakfast was included and offered a nice assortment of breads, fruits, and beverages. We also opted for the door-to-door taxi service; it was pricey, but definitely worth it since we were traveling with elderly family members. There were plenty of outlets in the room, but since it’s an older building, make sure to bring your own converter; I didn’t notice any USB ports.
A great plus for shopping: all the high-end stores are right outside the building as soon as you step out.

Cons:
– The hair dryer wasn’t great, so I recommend bringing your own.
– No USB ports available.
– Our room was on the 1st floor, and it was very noisy at night due to crowds outside near the shops. As for a room facing away from the main st.

This is the perfect hotel for exploring Venice! Very nice classy hotel, great buffet breakfast with Prosecco the staff will go out of their way for you! Was able to exchange cash for euros at a great price at the front desk at the front desk! Explained everything about Venice told us where to go, even took us on a beautiful complementary water taxi ride to a murano glass factory and back. Love the hotel, the big windows we could open at night and let the fresh air of Venice in our room Bar carvella hotel bar a great place to get a glass of Prosecco and just sit and watch people walk by the windows. We absolutely loved our stay. Situated right in San Marco where everything is.and Easy to get anywhere else you wanna go.

Breakfast was amazing and the breakfast staff were super attentive and deserve acknowledgment. This hotel has a long family run history with efficient service from reception. We are happy we picked this hotel. It was clean and serviced daily. There was a lot of street noise which died down by midnight each night when it became peaceful and we slept with our windows and curtains open (mid October stay). The decor and room design is an eclectic mix of venetian glass art and art deco furnishing that I guess captures some of the essence of Venice. we used the 15 euro waterbus to access hotel from the train station, but don't get off at Rialto stop as Google maps will direct you. Go on instead to a much closer stop, which makes the hotel only about a 5 minute walk from the waterbus stop. Otherwise, the hotel can organise personal water taxi to their back loading area if the tides are right (but much more expensive). Once you are there, it is a close walk to St Mark's Square and so much exploring and dining options near and around the hotel. We saw lots of Venice with this hotel as our base.

I absolutely loved staying at this property. I would highly recommend to family and friends. The area is near a lot of luxury store, the there are plenty of food options walking distance. There is event a bar and restaurant on property. We would go to the bar to end the night most nights and really enjoyed that. The buffet breakfast was also good. Fresh baked pastries in the morning and all the other \"American\" continental type offerings. We really enjoyed our stay!

Staff service was exceptional. Beds were super command rooms were very very clean. There were many choices at the buffet breakfast from cold to hot foods. Above all, the service we received from the concierge Gianluca who provided us with recommendations to amazing restaurants for dinners and other advice.
Also at breakfast, Valeria went over and above making sure we had our cappuccinos super hot as we requested and ensuring that we were happy with breakfast. Ensuring that our needs were met. Overall the smiles and enthusiasm for their work made out stay at this hotel seamlessly comfortable.
Location was perfect. Set in the high end area and walking distance to canal, shops and Piazza San Marco.
Highly recommend this beautiful hotel.

I was waken twice around 5 - 6am during my 8 day's stay by some men chatting/loading stuff? from the canal below. I told the hotel reception. They said that their staff don't start till 8am. So apart from that, stay was great. The room that I chose was big. The meals at both the restaurant and the bar were delicious. If you like the big brands, this is an ideal location for you. I like it for its location and not far from vaporetto stops, not for shopping though.

We recently stayed at Hotel Saturnia & International in Venice and overall had a wonderful experience. The location is unbeatable – just steps away from St. Mark’s Basilica and right in line with the designer boutiques. The hotel also offers a unique bonus: a private boat dock in the back, which made our trip especially convenient. We booked a private water taxi directly from the hotel to the airport, and it was seamless. They even offer a complimentary private boat ride to a Murano glass factory – no pressure to buy anything, and the boat waits for you to bring you back.

The service was excellent. When we experienced a noise issue on our first night (our room was located above their restaurant where music and guests were loud late into the night), I unfortunately developed a migraine and couldn’t sleep. I called the reception during the night, but they were fully booked and couldn’t move us immediately. The next morning, they relocated us to a quiet and beautiful room, which made the rest of our stay perfect.

Tip: When booking, request a room not located above the restaurant if you are sensitive to noise.

Breakfasts were delicious, the staff was attentive and professional, and the overall experience – despite the first night – was truly memorable. We would gladly stay here again.

Beautiful hotel in a perfect location with views from the rooftop that made it even more perfect. The room was huge. Bathroom the same and everything very clean. Breakfast is included and was a lovely spread. I did feel like the check-in staff could have been more friendly - they seemed bothered when asked a question. The bell staff however made up for the indifference we felt from the reception. They were so helpful and facilitated getting a cab for our departure.

The best things about this hotel: location & the staff, especially in the breakfast room & the concierges. The rest needs work. My shower had a lot of mold (even the emergency pull cord had black mold on it!), a/c leak left watermarks on the wall and ceiling, minibar leaked, in room safe didn’t work, rug was dirty, barrel chair in room was filthy, the shampoo/soap is a single made-for-hotel brand and cheap (wouldn’t ever use on my hair as it’s drying) and one day my room wasn’t cleaned with no apology or explanation given. In no way is this a 4-star Superior property; you’ll be disappointed as I was if you are expecting a near 5-star experience. Kudos, however, to the staff.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay. The front desk staff and concierge were amazing. Very helpful and friendly. There is a restaurant in bar attached which is very convenient. Right outside the hotel you are on the strip that has all the designer stores. They also have their own private dock so that when you check out if you choose to take a private water taxi, the walk is very short with your luggage. they also have complementary breakfast in the morning. We absolutely loved our stay. One thing I did not know was they have a free boat ride for their guests if you want to go to Marano and Verano. I wish I had known that prior to booking a tour. The location of the hotel is wonderful.

Our stayed at the Saturnia & International was absolutely fantastic. From arriving to leaving, every member of staff were always very welcoming, friendly and only to happy to offer any help or advice you might need. The reception, bar area, restaurant, A La Carte restaurant, all the hallways and the room were exceptional clean and well maintained. Breakfast was an excellent buffet, offering a wide, plentiful choice of continental and hot dishes. The hotels location is perfect for the main tourist attractions in Venice whilst still offering a quiet location to relax. The roof terrace offers a great view over parts of Venice with plenty of room to relax and enjoy. The Saturnia hotel is certainly a great choice to stay.

Hotel has its own private dock which made transfers from the hotel to the airport seamless and stress-free. We wished we would’ve utilized this for when we arrived in Venice from the train station. Definitely a unique property and very central to St Marks Square and other landmarks in Venice.

The staff was so nice and helpful to us with directions where we wanted to go . They arranged a water taxi to the airport for us at 5:00 AM. The food and drinks were excellent!

The breakfast included in the room was the best breakfast we've ever had! It features amazing fresh fruit and freshly baked apricot croissants, chocolate croissants. Incredible cappuccinos with heart shapes, and a squeezer to make your own freshly squeezed orange juice. The eggs and meat were amazing as well. Maid service was excellent, our room was extra tidy and clean every day. The courtyard patio and rooftop terrace were beautiful and the room itself was very spacious for a European hotel room. The AC was excellent and the bed mattress was incredible. The service desk attendees were top shelf. Will be back.

We had a wonderful stay at Saturnia Hotel, perfectly located just steps from the iconic San Marco Plaza and conveniently close to everything Venice has to offer. The central location made exploring the city a breeze. The hotel staff was truly amazing, friendly, accommodating, and always eager to ensure our experience was memorable. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Venice!

This hotel is in a great location near everything you want to see and quiet at night. The breakfast buffet is fabulous with many choices. All of the staff at the hotel are friendly, helpful and make you feel part if the family. The front desk is knowledgeable about the area and bend over backwards to help you make your stay the absolute best.

Amazing experience at a great hotel. Location was perfect and rooms were spacious. Staff was friendly and helpful with recommendations and assistance navigating Venice.
