Only stayed for one night is a suite overlooking the grand canal. We were upgraded to a larger suite by Carlotta on reception. All staff were amazing. Hotel is amazing. A real experience of Venice. Beautiful hotel. Would recommend and will definitely go again. Rooms are on the expensive side but if you can afford it it is worth it.

Beautiful, historic hotel with a great location within walking distance of St. Marks Square, shopping and eating. On the Grand Canal so travel to anywhere in Venice was convenient and easy. And great restaurant and bar in the hotel on the canal. Superb stay!!

THE Gritti Palace still the ICON of Venice
My stay was Magical and the weather played to our favour it was my wife’s birthday and they lived up to the occasion. Red roses were sent from the hotel as gift and my 2 year old daughter found a little lion toy as a gift. Wonderful hospitality by Staff and fantastic recommendation by concierge. Food & beverage in the terrace and breakfast was 10/10 only one incident happened it’s my fault not to request a later check out reception is a bit pushy with 12 noon departure. Apart from that Thank Gritti Palace for a wonderful time as usual.

We had four wonderful days in Venice. The Gritti Palace was a huge part of that experience, from the welcome off of the boat at the door right through until we left. Whilst the room was a little smaller than expected, it had everything we needed. The bathroom was gorgeous, and the housekeeping and turndown service took care of everything. Breakfast was wonderful, and we had a great start to each day overlooking the Grand Canal. The terrace on the Canal was perfect for an afternoon re-charge each day. The spa is stunning - we should have been more organised to have treatments arranged in advance. Arriving back to 12 magnificent red roses in our room on my birthday was a particularly lovely surprise! Location was perfect for us, and we will definitely return to The Gritti.

The Gritti Palace is a stunning building that has been refurbished to an exceptional standard.
As soon as you walk through the doors you know you have arrived somewhere special.
The staff are friendly and very helpful. The rooms beautiful and extremely comfortable. However, you aren't allowed a kettle in your room which is disappointing.
The hotels restaurant is like the rest if the hotel very comfortable and relaxing but at a very high price. The food is good but not exceptional for the price. Have eaten in Michelin star restaurants costing less I feel the Gritti Palace needs to re think the cost of their courses or elevate the standard to another level to justify what they charge.
The experience overall though is a good one and one I will remember and i would definitely recommend the hotel for the experience and it's great location.

Delightful Boutique Hotel
The Griitti Palace is located about 5 minutes walk from St. Marks on the Grand Canal. From the bar and restaurant you can look across at the Peggy Gugenheim Gallery. The staff is helpful, courteous and knowledgeable. Our concierge flawlessly arranged two dinners on the town as well our departure water taxi. Rooms are elegant. Service was always prompt and pleasant. We enjoyed the restaurant for multiple breakfasts and 1 dinner. Food was excellent. Having travelled the world and stayed in hundreds of hotels, the Gritti Palace deserves 5 stars.

Pros: Overall it was a very pretty hotel. Our room was pretty and newly renovated. Receptionist was friendly upon checking in. The hotel provided a bottle of Champagne and chocolate upon arrival which was very sweet.
Cons: The room was not very clean. It looked ok but both my husband and I had skin discomfort.
There was also no staff helping with the luggage when we leave the hotel. We were carrying 3 luggages, the hotel exit required manual opening of two doors and yet no one provided a hand.

I'd always wanted to stay in a beautiful hotel in Venice and I'm glad I did. Quite expensive but worth it, though sadly, we couldn't afford a room with a spectacular view. She made us feel genuinely special, took us personally to our room where she had arranged roses, chocolates and prosecco and even managed to upgrade us on our last night to a magnificent room overlooking the Grand Canal.

A beautiful hotel in a great location. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly which was a nice surprise. The breakfasts were beautiful, with a good selection of cold meats, cheeses, yogurts and pastries. There was also the option of eggs cooked in various styles or a full al a carte menu to chose from. It could get busy a times and I did see some people have to queue for a table.
The bar is very comfortable but the prices are pretty eye watering, but then I guess it is Venice and probably one of the loveliest hotels in the city.
The suite we stayed in was spacious, with excellent facilities. The bathroom was beautiful with lovely products to use.
All in all a beautiful hotel and well worth a visit.

The Gritti Palace is perfectly located, right on the Grand Canal, but is still very quiet. All main attractions are within a short walking distance. The hotel is beautifully renovated, with so much attention paid to details and art that you really feel you're staying in a Renaissance palace, but with all modern amenities. The wireless Internet is free of charge and fast, and the rooms (we were in the room 314 with a great view of the Grand Canal) and marble bathrooms are surprisingly spacious for Venice. The Riva lounge has a terrace with spectacular views. The food is excellent, especially pasta. The staff was very friendly.

We had a very comfortable stay at the Gritti Palace Hotel. Our room had a balcony with a view of the Grand Canal which was very busy and enjoyable to look at. The hotel staff were very accommodating. Beautiful hotel with fantastic staff who were willing to tend to any of our needs and questions.
It's a 5 min picturesque walk to Saint Macro plaza. Which is then central to anywhere else you want to go to.
Hotel staff very good at advising on the touristy things we wanted to do including ideas of costs involved.
Food at breakfast was lovely, not a massive range but the freshly cooked eggs and breakfast was beautiful. We had dinner there one night which was superb, the price tag matched, but if staying in a place like this I think that's to be expected.

Great location. Clean and very boutique style room. called bell service 3 times and waited 45minutes before they respond. the front desk wont tell you that your Credit card will be charged overnight every night, so don't be suprised.

This hotel is ultra luxe in every way. You certainly pay for it; but if you can you must do it! The location right on the Grand Canale, the incredible newly renovated rooms, the hush atmosphere and luxury. It just has it all. I highly recommend this legendary grande dame!

Fabulous stay at The Gritti Palace
From the moment we arrived at The Gritti Palace we were treated like royalty. From the second you arrive at the canal entrance of the hotel you know it's going to be special. It's the most beautiful and imposing, gothic building with a private terrace perched on the canal which belongs on the Cote d'azure. Perfect for lunch and dinner, or just an afternoon drink. The staff are all incredibly helpful and knowledgable and nothing is too much trouble.
Unlike hotels like the Danieli, the Gritti Palace is beautifully maintained to modern standards in true Starwood fashion. It's also far better positioned away from the crowds of tourists, just a 10 minute walk up the grand canal. Rooms are spacious and bathrooms are beautiful. If you can, go for one of the Venetian Rooms for something a little more special for not a lot more money.

Fantastic birthday celebration at The Gritti Palace
We stayed at The Gritti Palace to celebrate my wife's birthday. We loved every minute of our stay and hope to return as soon as we can. The Doge restaurant is beautiful and the food is wonderful. All the staff were great and very helpful and friendly. We had a great spa experience and definitely recommend it.

It was easy walking distance to San Marco and Rialto. Water taxis drop off directly at the hotel and the water bus stop is only a few minutes walk from the hotel. Lovely rooms and helpful staff. Pricey but most of the Venice waterfront hotels are.
