The only reason I gave 2 stars is because of good location otherwise it should be 1 star if you having breakfast you should book time in the morning upfront which is very inconvenient but the main thing is it was April 19 and quite warm outside and they turn down ac when we complained that it is 78 on the room they said open the window so we did and by the morning we were eaten alive by mosquitoes and the neighbors window just 3 feet away and also opened so no privacy and the lady on front desk laid to us the this is government regulations all hotels in the area had their ac on and when we arrived in Rome ours next hotel had ac so if you are going during summer stay away from this hotel from hell

Wow…what a fantastic place!! One to two minutes away from the main San Marco square. Lots of shopping, dining and of course gondola rides! Staff were impeccable and super helpful and friendly!

It was okay stay but not a 4 star!
And night there are outside noise since in a courtyard style. Hotel is not really kid friendly great for couples maybe. If you like not stay up little late the walls are not sound proof so you have to be very quite at night

Very Good Location, Quality Hotel

Excellent service, very good location. Family of 4, we reserved the family suite.
Separate bedrooms, kitchenette, table to eat. Our breakfast was delivered each morning on time, worked perfectly!
The only thing missing were maybe a few tables directly outside the hotel for guests to enjoy an aperitif in the Campo/Piazza as the the hotel across the Piazza had. Otherwise, would recommend!

This was our favorite hotel in Italy. The staff was incredibly welcoming and helpful and went above and beyond to answer any questions and offer suggestions. The location is very convenient with a water taxi and vaporetta stop just a 1-2 minute walk with no steps. There are quite a few good dining options within a few minutes and it’s a short walk to St. Mark’s and shopping. There is also daily breakfast which you order the night before and is delivered to your room in the morning which we found very convenient. We would highly recommend this hotel!

The hotel is nice and located in the heart of Venice but unfortunately they shutdown the heater at night to conserve electricity and they DO NOT tell you during the booking nor during the check-in. You get to find out about this at 3 am when you call the front desk freezing....we didn't get much sleep that night.

Palazzo del Giglio is located a short distance away from the famous St. Marco Square. The rooms are classic-style and well decorated. You are steps away from different stores and restaurant options. The only drawback was the water system stopped working early in the morning the management fixed the issue as fast as they could. Generally, we had a pleasant experience.

The location is great, few steps from Giglio vaporetto #1 which takes you anywhere , Rialto bridge, San Marco, plaza Roma for airport. Will come back here again.
Thanks the staff for welcoming champagne and fruit in the room everyday . Staff also took care of my concert tickets. Room is very nice and clean even though it’s small but I guess it’s typical for Venice. Definitely come back

So close to st marks square and shops, as well as a water taxi point. Staff were all very helpful and the breakfast had good choice. It was very warm when we went which is unusual for October so the air conditioning had been switched off and the room was extremely warm, however they provided us with a fan. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

We reserved their suite as we were a party of 5 and it was our first trip to Venice. The room was perfect, with one private room with two beds and the other open room, more like a living room, with three twin beds. Our favorite part of the room was the outside terrace with an amazing view of the square and areas around. There was a wonderful platter of fresh fruit waiting for us and within minutes of our arrival, they brought up a bottle of sparking wine for the adults and orange juice for the kids. This place was the perfect start to our first trip to Italy. The staff was very friendly and provided many wonderful restaurant recommendations. It's very easy to get to on the water taxis and is very close to St. Mark's Square. Very centrally located that we were able to walk all around, even to the Rialto Bridge. We would definitely stay here again and would recommend this place to anyone going to Venice.

Ideal location. Waterbus from the airport took us right to the square and easy walk to st Mark’s Square and all areas. Gondolas, vaporettos all on our doorstep. Bowl of fruit in our room and Bellinis and peanuts brought to our room as soon as we arrived. Good breakfast our room was small but had a balcony and everything we needed for a perfect two days in Venice.

This hotel was perfect for our visit to Venice. It was centrally located in a quieter location with excellent restaurants, transportation and shopping all steps away. The breakfast was delicious with lots of options. We stayed in the family suite which had two separate bedrooms and a private terrace which was a nice touch. The staff were very professional and efficient. The location is also excellent as it's very close to transportation on the Grand Canal.

Worst experience. The bed springs were digging into our backs. The hotel staff said, well the mattresses are new, and suggested we flip the mattress - Insulting to say the least. We did not sleep our entire stay. We had to sleep on top of our blankets for added padding - it did not work. Wifi did not work - they told us \"tomorrow\" (for three days in a row). It was never resolved.
The mildew in the bathroom was so horrendous. It is hazardous to inhale mold and mildew.
Breakfast was shameful. I have travelled extensively throughout Italy and I was shocked that they couldn't even have a decent continental breakfast. the cakes and pastries were stale every day.
This property is a 2 star at best, and that would be based on location alone. They clearly have given up on putting in any effort to maintain this property. Considering Venice thrives on tourism, you'd think they would treat their guests with a little bit more class.

Would stay here again. Romantic boutique hotel, right on the Piazza Giglio. Room was very clean, well-appointed, large floor plan. Bathroom all white marble, nicely sized, also well appointed. Nicer than typical European decor with fabric covered walls, antique furniture. Beautiful basket of fruit and a bottle of wine presentation to us when we arrived (we don’t drink but the thought was appreciated). Could watch the Grand Canal when looking out the left of our window, aour room overlooked the square. A 5-minute walk to St. Mark’s cathedral. Take either the water taxi to San Marcos Square and walk to the hotel OR take line 1 to the Giglio stop.

Upon arrival we waited at reception for approx 10 minutes while the receptionist finished some paperwork at the desk. We were finally greeted and shown to our room. No offer to help with baggage. I was travelling with my two children and their grandmother. We arrived late at night so we were all pretty tired. An offer of help wouldn’t have gone amiss.
Room was dated, but clean and very spacious. We were very happy with the room. A bowl of fruit was provided, which was a nice touch.
Central location, just a 5 minute walk to San Marco square.
Private water taxi from airport was 110 Euro for the four of us. You can get a public water taxi that was approx 16 Euros each. But we had a 3 hour flight delay and we were all so tired and it was raining so opted for the quickest and most stress free way!
Overall a good base in a central location, it just lacks atmosphere which could easily be rectified with more attention to the customer service they offer guests.

Lovely hotel

Stayed the weekend with my girlfriend and we loved it. The room was very beautiful and clean. Prize was reasonable and a very nice touch to have fruits waiting in the room not to mention the free bubbly on arrival.

The hotel is very well located, only about 7 minute walk from the main plaza and close to the canal for river taxi access (about 1 minute).

The main entrance is closed all the time so you have to ring a bell to gain access but the very helpful staff was always at hand to buzz us in within 2-3 seconds.

If I had to say anything negative about the hotel then it's the fact that our \"king size\" bed was two singles put together which I believe is a very common practice. It might also have been because we got the last room available so choices were limited. It did not however affect us much.

Will definitely stay again.

it is a \"palazzo\" and looks like one from the outside, but inside it is more \"Best Western\" than a Palazzo. For the price it was a big deception. Room barely enough for a double bed. CONS: the smell of sulphur was very strong (don’t know if it’s something that can be avoided); the double ‘twin’ beds were actually a futon with non-removable ‘backboard’ cushion that didn’t come off so the bed became narrower. Not very happy with this hotel: I would have expected more value for money.
The location is ok, in the city-centre near to a \"Vaporetto station\". The room - at first floor - was old and not spacious, some furniture and the matress were really too old for a 4 star hotel. Bathroom ok, with courtesy-set with very good products. A large terrace, not very useful in February... The breakfast ok but with terrible coffee. In addition, after several hours from the check-out, I'm still waiting to receive the invoice from the hotel by mail, as told by the staff this morning leaving the hotel.

Hotel has a good location in San Marco. Access is excellent via nearby boarding jetty. Room are neat and hotel is well looked after. Staff are excellent , couldn't have been more professional and helpful. Only draw back was the air con wasn't really suitable and due to the very high ambient temperatures the room was quite hot on a night making sleeping difficult. That was the only negative .

This is a superb hotel. We were lucky to get it - I only booked it on the morning of our arrival after two other options we were considering fell through - but it proved to be a very good choice. It was the most expensive hotel we stayed in during our tour through Italy, but I don't really mind that when the facilities justify the cost, and they did here. Our room for four was enormous, with a large living/dining room, a small kitchen, and a separate bedroom and bathroom. The staff were just what one wants from hotel staff - unobtrusive but always available when needed. They were especially helpful printing out documents (a lot of places that offer online bookings, including the Venice Museums, don't seem to understand that travelers don't necessarily have ready access to a printer, but the staff here were very helpful for that). Another plus were the superb breakfasts included in the price. Highly recommended!

The best part is the hotel is at great location....when you come from train station & take a water bus it is right there...St. Mark's square is also very closeby....The location of the hotel is very convenient.....Another great thing is the bottle of Proseco served as welcome drink...The rooms are quite outdated...... They are smelly. the bathrooms are small. The toiletries are good....the biggest letdown is the breakfast.... It is nowhere close to the one you expect in a 4* Hotel....Overall the Hotel feels like 2-3*

The hotel, staff, room, and breakfast were all fantastic! The only problem was the Air Conditioning. The room didn't seem to go below 75 degrees F. at all, even at night. Also, when you leave the room the power goes off, and with it the AC, so you have to wait when you return for it to cool off enough to be comfortable. Apart from this minor gripe, the hotel was excellent!

As far as it goes, solid breakfast, good location to/from airport as well as the required sites. Hotel is not super lux but solid and well priced for May 2018. Not sure about higher season prices.

Quaint hotel easily accessible near St. Mark's

We selected this hotel based on reviews and it's location to St. Mark's Square (5 min walk). After spending 2 nights there we agree that this is a wonderful hotel and it's location is excellent. We arrived into Venice via train. Upon exiting the station you are on the canal were you have a choice of selecting a water taxi or water bus. Our first surprise was just how easy it was to get to the hotel via water bus #1. It is about a half hour ride to the Giglio stop. There you walk straight up the alley until you come to a large opening, the hotel is across the square on the right. Check in was pleasant, the clerk provided information, brochures and a map of Venice to help with our stay. Our room was surprising spacious overlooking the square, included a large couch, a couple of straight back chairs and even had a kitchenette area. We also found a lovely bowl of fruit, as well as slippers in the room - very nice, unexpected amenities. The mattress and pillows were really very comfortable, a huge difference from other hotels we stayed in Italy where we found the mattresses extremely firm (like a board) and pillows amazingly flat. Also, unlike typical European bathrooms, our bathroom was very roomy. What a pleasure!! It was the best shower I had on our Italian vacation (we stopped in Florence and Rome). The wi-fi worked wonderfully and the breakfast was again the best of our trip. Note, the elevator is SMALL. This is a quaint hotel and we do recommend it to others.

Perfect location for the sights

A fabulous hotel in a pretty square. Staff lovely. Breakfast superb. Two minutes from San Giglio vaporetti stop. Five minute stroll from St Marks Square. Would highly recommend.

Lovely hotel. Walk to St Mark's Square.

Our room was very clean, spacious and comfortable. The hotel is in a great location, and within an easy walk to St. Mark's square and the vaparetto. I would definitely stay here again, and highly recommend it. It was super easy to find with the hotel's directions to get there from the airport:

\"From the airport you can take a private water taxi (available at the dock of the airport) which will ferry you swiftly to our hotel: the journey takes about 30 minutes in total and the cost of the transfer is about 120,00€.
Alternatively there is the Alilaguna boat (ORANGE LINE), which picks you up from the airport and drops you off at the same stop as the water taxi: the journey takes about 1h 20 min and the price is 16,00 € per person. When you get off from the boat you must follow the street until you reach Campo S.Maria del Giglio, our hotel is on the right side.\"
