Our stay in Honolulu was highly enjoyable, particularly as we were celebrating my mother's birthday, which she truly appreciated. We were somewhat taken aback to discover that this Hilton location does not provide any special offerings for birthdays. In contrast, our previous experiences at other Hilton establishments in California and Nevada included various birthday amenities.

Nonetheless, the hotel staff were remarkably accommodating and hospitable, fulfilling our requests for additional towels, new trash bags, and other necessities. They also provided water tickets, allowing us to avoid unnecessary expenditures on bottled water. However, it is worth noting that the parking fees were exorbitant, even with the seemingly modest discount extended to guests. For our brief stay of five days and four nights, we incurred parking costs totaling nearly $200.

Ocean view from the room. The staff were amazing it was clean and everyone was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. They stopped breakfast before my stay which was kind of a bummer they didn’t inform me before it bought the package. Parking fees were not previously mentioned either so be mindful of those and the WiFi fee.

The hotel is very outdated. Carpet and furniture covered in stains. Our room was very loud due to the noise from the Main Street and the noise of the elevators. We saw multiple cockroaches by the pool. The walk to the beach was about 10 minutes, but the beach is very rocky, so we had to go to other beaches. Wouldn’t recommend or stay here again.

The staff was courteous, but the room was not thoroughly cleaned. There was hair in the refrigerator and on the nightstand. It made me question if the sheets had been changed. The towels and the bedding were very worn and need to be replaced. The furniture on the patio was rusty and the pipes rattled when I took a shower.

Staff were all courteous during our stay. Ammon Lee was amazing and went beyond his duties to ensure that our stay was memorable. All our excursions were booked through him at discounted prices. Location of the property was also helpful and we could get to places quickly. The Ala Moana centre was within walking distance.

The room was a partial ocean view, which should have bave been a sliver of ocean view. The bed was rock hard, and they charged for everything, which was not clear before checking in. When you ask about what transportation they normally recommend, they list all the normals. I ask for which was more reliable or cost efficient, they had no clue. You ask about restaurant recommendations, and two concierge refer you to an offsite restaurant, where none of them have eaten,and steaks are very expensive. Then you ask them about things to see, and they try to get you to join a very expensive per person luau that coincidentally is free if you sit through their timeshare seminar. No other recommendations. We ended up leaving for home early due to my husband's health issues, and they refused to refund our money or even give us a credit stating that it would have to come from Expedia. Its not like we planned for his issues. I guess Hilton must be struggling. The parking garage was creepy, and there were vagrants and obvious druggies everywhere. The hotel is clean, but very dated. Not sure how it's modern, and the balcony furniture was rusty. I will never stay at another Hilton.

We had a very nice stay at the modern! We stayed for 7 days, we loved the location especially. It’s pretty centred but not right in the middle of the busy areas. There’s a beach that’s a walking distance, a couple ABC stores close by and Ala Moana mall that’s all just under 10 minutes walk! The staff were all so nice and welcoming. Housekeeping team were so lovely and respectful! Just a really great place to stay in! Would 100% recommend!

Overall the place is pretty nice. The shower floor of our bathroom is a bit dirty but has a modern look. One interesting thing about the bathroom is it has 2 louver windows, privacy could be an issue.

This place is in a good location. 2 mins walk from McDonald's and ABC store. 5 mins walk from Hilton Lagoon and fireworks. The staffs were nice and helpful. There is a self parking lot with in and out privileges. They offered 2 boxed water daily but it tasted different. There are also water refill stations within the property. There is a safe, mini fridge in the room as well. Coffee machine and free coffee daily.

There were extra fees that apparently I didn't notice. The way the information was written, I thought there was complimentary breakfast and parking, but that wasn't the case. The staff isn't knowledgeable about places to eat or places to visit other than the luau that's free if you sit through their sales meeting and to steer you to a restaurant with $100 steaks where none of them have ever eaten at. The room was clean although the mattress was too firm. I'm sure others love it. The balcony furniture was rusty and the partial ocean view was a sliver with the vast majority being the roof of the adjoining building. Overall it met our needs, but for the money, i was disappointed.

Front Desk staff were all very friendly and accommodating, particularly Jean-Luc when I checked in.
The room met all expectations and the daily housekeeping was a pleasant surprise as most hotels on the mainland are every other day at best.
Both pools were well maintained and never had issues getting a lounger at any time of the day. Somewhat loud elevator issue mentioned in several reviews was only a concern during waking hours (roughly 0700-2100) so no problem for me. Overall, this hotel offered much less crowding compared to neighboring hotels with several addition floors/room. This alone would bring me back. Well done.

The room and motel was nice, we had a 2 double beds booked but at Checkin we were given a king size bed and pullout couch. We showed them our reservation for 2 double beds but they still give us this room. We felt every spring on the pullout bed and I try not to ever get on here and complain. That is the only complaint I had

This property operates more like a bare-minimum Starbucks than a Hilton. If you need something, you can holler, but the staff behave like they’re just counting down the minutes until they can go home. No one answers the phone — we called for 45 minutes, the hallway house phone was dead, and there was no one at check-in. They acted as if there were lines out the door (there weren’t).

They also tried to add extra charges after the deal was already closed. The amount was small, but it’s the principle: once a price is confirmed, you can’t just change it. That’s a **consumer-protection

Everyone there is just waiting for the 15th or the 30th to roll around — or trying to herd you into a timeshare pitch like it’s a soccer try-out. It’s not a hotel, it’s a sales floor with beds.

The level of apathy and attitude made it feel less like a Hilton and more like a sad campground with better plumbing.

I wouldn’t go back.

The good for the Hotel is the location, it is very close to the Ala Moana Regional Park with walking distance, and also the Kahanamoku Beach on the other side. For eating, it is in the walking distance to the Ala Moana shopping center where there are tons of restaurants and the food court.
The bad is that it is not too close to the Waikiki beach. And the first couple of days I checked in, there is no hot water and we have to take shower in the neighboring hotel. The double bad is a little too small for two people to sleep.

I had high hopes for this “Modern” Hilton but I was (still am) very disappointed. I look forward to checking out tomorrow. The carpet was not clean and the curtains were falling apart. But the BEST part was (the main reason why I felt compelled to write this review was when we got back to our hotel at 9:30pm after a long day, there was no hot water. Called down to the front desk and that’s when they told me the hot water heater is broken but offered for me to take a time slot to shower next door in another hotel. I did not do this. I will never take my family to another hotel, just to shower, while on vacation. So we all took cold showers. Front desk apologized. But did not offer to make this right whatsoever. We will not return to this place again.

The hotel needed more transparency on prices for different items. Such as $200 for “the club” amenities and the parking garage. Also, the free waters tasted nasty due to coming in cartons. A complimentary breakfast would have been a nice touch for the overall price that the hotel cost.
