This is another economical choice to stay in the area. Don't expect a lot and it did what it needed to do. Clean and useful. As busy as it was, the room and stay were quieter than expected. I'd stay again.

Room looked like a jail cell. Towels were so over used they were like sandpaper. Turned the shower on and the knob wouldn’t stay up and turn cold. Staff very rude and very unhelpful. No parking on site only cash. Area of the city not great. Not like the photos at all. Would never recommend anyone staying here. Ended up being there only 2/6 nights after the staff was extremely rude and wouldn’t listen. Wouldnt look at me when I went down to ask about the shower and told me it’s fine and shooed me away. Terrible stay, terrible staff

Good for a budget stay as long as you don't care where you stay. Location is good and you can walk just about anywhere in the city and beach faster than waiting for transportation. However the cleaning staff failed to clean our room even once during our 3 night 4 day stay even when requested.

Upon check in to our first provided room there were some dead bugs on the floor which was a turn off. The room however was clean and smelled like it had just been freshened up. After going down to the front desk and mentioning the bugs in the room I was immediately switched over to another room 0 questions asked. The staff was so helpful and nice and understanding about everything. They wanted to make sure we enjoyed our trip as that usually starts with the hotel you’re staying in. We were transferred to the exact same room layout just on a different floor. The hotel is very nice and clean and has many amenities from the pool deck to the in house coffee shops/convenience mart. They have rental cars available through the hotel as well as an in house bar/arcade. Did not get to visit the bar as we ran out of time but stopping in for just a quick second it seemed like a nice vibe. There are many residents as the hotel offers hotel.com rentals as well as airbnb rentals. I believe some of the residents live there permanently but it does not affect the overall hotel in fact i think it makes it feel more like a home. We did not pay for parking as it’s 50$ a night however we were able to find street parking every night/morning. Be careful as the nearby street parking has limitations and you will get towed if you do not follow them. Overall a great stay and i will be keeping this hotel in mind next time i return to hawaii, which will be soon!

This place is really old and run down. Window AC that’s runs constantly and is very noisy. The place is dirty, don’t walk around barefoot. The bed mattress has a thick plastic cover that was torn and very noisy to sleep on. In general it was on of the worst hotels I have stayed at. The cab driver mention it was know for illegal activity. I didn’t see anything, though lots of homeless and addicts. Not worth the cost savings!

There is no free parking, we paid 135 for 4 nights for our car, when we checked in the guy was super pushy about getting my signature before I could read what I was signing, I told him I was going to read it first. There is a 95dollar \"resort fee\" when you check in that's non refundable. The room itself was pretty bad also. Mushrooms were growing in the bathroom shower on the ceiling, the bed was horribly uncomfortable, one thing of coffee for 4 days, so had to go buy coffees at the shop downstairs every morning. There was weird bugs in the room, not sure what they were, but small and super fast. Killed two of them. There was only one nightstand for some reason, and the HUGE lamp too up much of the space so you couldn't use it. And only two plug ins in the room, I guess 3 if you count the bathroom. Won't be staying here again, was not impressed with this hotel at all.

Store and restaurants were closed half the time have to pay to park 50/ day or if you so more than one day they have it at 45/ day. Resort fees added on after already paying other \"Resort\" fees.... this isn't a Resort..... the only good thing about this was how close it was to everything and the food truck court across the street... tiles and floors are chipped walls are all marked up and instead of putting our group that had 2 rooms on the same floor we were on separate floors

The rooms were so run down and gross! I was afraid the entire time I would get bed bugs. The entire property was gross and run down. The area it was in, was trash as well. The pictures of this place are VERY deceiving!

Also, the airport shuttle is not free despite saying so on the booking. It cost $25 per person and you have to schedule it 24 hours in advanced! Overall, horrible experience!

The room was fine for my purposes. The neighborhood is away from the bar scene and fairly quiet at night. The 7-11 stocks almost everything for a quick meal and is just a few steps away. The hotel is older and you should keep some earplugs for any of the hotels in Waikiki

I asked if I could have a room overlooking the pool, and the employee responded that he didn't have anything and I am lucky to recieve the room I got. The room was outdated, dirty and the windows were filty. I live across the street I wanted to stay just to use the pool (which I never did because of the weather). Complete waste of money.

The room looked nothing like the pictures . For the price we paid it was a complete dive furniture was outdated the bed was not firm and was not a queen bed as stated .!The room was dirty the table tops and dressers were filthy . We found and killed multiple roaches in our room . The outside of the facility was clean but inside the facility it was dirty .I would recommend paying the extra money for a nice clean room I’d highly not recommend this place for your stay .

We were there for 9 nights and house keeping never came to clean our room even though I was told that I was required to let them in every 72 hours and we called to let them know that they hadn’t cleaned our room since we got here and they told us that they would put a request in but they never came to clean our room. I had to go to the front desk to ask for clean towels and toilet paper because we had been using the same towels for multiple days. And the trash rooms were always full of trash and we were never able to leave our trash in there. And I spoke with multiple guests and they were all having the same issues.

The hotel was so filthy I had to clean it myself before feeling comfortable enough to sleep. There were bugs that resembled Roaches, not visible in my room but in the elevators and garbage room . Splatters of unknown brown substance on the walls, pebbles, sand and dirt on the room floor.Built up grime in the crevices of the golden mirror. One swipe on the wall/floor with a wipe and it was dark brown. House keeping didn’t once come to my room in the 5 days I stayed. After work, I got back at the hotel at 2230 and noticed once I got up to my room that I started my period. I had no feminine hygiene products on me and the room didn’t either. The room also didn’t have toilet paper, due to not being cleaned the entire time. I called the front desk to ask if they had feminine hygiene products for sale, to which they said no. I then askedtt if they could bring me a roll of toilet paper since the room was out, to which they told me no and to go all the way down to the lobby desk and get it myself… mind you, I’m bleeding on ur myself at this point with not even toilet paper to help absorb the mess. This was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at

friendly staff, quick service, requested more towels and toilet paper and it arrived within 5 minutes. Loved the shops on the first floor and food trucks located right across the street where the workers were just as kind. Our AC stopped working our last night there, then our socket blew after plugging in a phone charger. All in all great service and great experience.
I would stay here again.

The room was in very poor condition. In a 5 day stay they did not clean the room once. Holes in the walls, counters and broken door frames. There is no associated parking and the lot next door was $50 a day. We got a noise complaint at noon because we were playing music while getting ready. Front desk never answered the phones when needed. Would not go back.

Second rate hotel. Furniture is all scratched. Walls are dirty. Beds and pillows barely comfortable. Some of this staff is not very nice. Forget about getting a callback from them, since they don’t answer their phone parent. If you don’t ask for cleaning of the room, it’s not going to happen.

The mattress already had brown stains on it. The mattress was super uncomfortable and all the walls had some dirt on it and just a very unclean experience. Left a day early because my experience was so bad and then they charged me an extra 40 dollars for WiFi and dining which I didn’t need and thought I already paid for everything when booking through Expedia. This place just wants to make money and the experience is very cheap and the blanket feels rough and uncomfortable and unclean. There’s a nice view but they doesn’t do any good when the experience is met with an unfriendly welcome and a dirty place, never going back after trying to leave early they couldn’t do refund after complaining about.

Very fine establishment. Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, I can not sing their praises enough.

The room was OK, definitely a little dated. However, if you are the type of person to plan on being out all day and just come back to shower and sleep, it is great!

About a mile walk to the main Waikiki beach, so be prepares to walk, but the businesses that are based at the hotel are extremely convenient, especially the jeep rental and restaurants.

I would indeed book again!

The staff was great and the location was nice. The beds were substandard in all ways, the linens were as cheap as they could possibly be (think ancient army blanket). The overused mattress was covered in plastic to prevent bed bugs so it was as if I was sleeping on trash bags guaranteeing the sleeper to be sweaty all night.

The staff were exceptional, especially the individual who checked us in early. The room though was very disappointing. The room smelt strongly of piss well the floor was sticky and dirty like it was not cleaned. I had forgotten my hair product and was also disappointed that well they offer body soap and shampoo there was no conditioner or additional soap to wash your hands. Not a big deal breaker as we just used the bar soap to wash our hands as well. I’ve stayed at this hotel many times as it’s typically nice for the price you pay, conveniently located in Waikiki away from the Main Street but within walking distance from a lot of good restaurants.

The clerk was very personable at check in, but it turned out that they had assigned me to room 1801, which sits beside an active elevator shaft! Didn't use the laundry setup. And I expected to use the hot tub but when I arrived and checked in was informed that the hot tub and pool was shut down for maintenance. I feel scammed. I had booked my reservations on the 29th and had been calling multiple times spoke to several different personnel at the hotel about different concerns before I even got there, one of them was my need for the jacuzzi and nobody informed me that it wasn't in service. I arrived late at night after my shift. I live on Oahu and I work. I took a bus and transferred three times was very tired. The personnel was very rude and impatient with me. I tried asking for a refund I also asked for a comp of some sort the man was very rude and distasteful I will never come back again or recommend this hotel to anyone. I am extremely dissatisfied and as a Kamaaina, I especially expected to be treated better. He gave me two complimentary drinks, after I asked for something and I told him I don't even drink what else you got. He said we got a gym. I just wanted to rest in a hot bath couldn't do that either cuz it's stand-up showers. I really looked forward to the jacuzzi. It was terrible I asked for a complimentary breakfast or something. He just got ruder and ruder. I'm still really just saddened by the experience. I feel ripped off. It's because from the time that I booked the reservation to when I actually came I had been in communication with them and they could have told me. Oh their parking garage smells urin

By the door, cockroach kinda welcoming us then spotted 2 more in between bed in the floor.
Yet, rather than this it was been supposed to be excellent.
Friendly advise, to upgrade the beds into more firm & durable in the sense that both beds easily fall apart from headboards.
Though, I commend the linens & towels, was one of the best set up & neat, doesn't made us uncomfortable to think we are checked in with \"cockys'.

Great spot, amazing views. The staff was exceptionally friendly, the little karaoke restaurant and bar was a lot of fun and the burgers were good. It is not the Marriott, it’s a different kind of nice. It’s a conveniently located hotel that’s across the street from a bunch of food trucks and it has one of Waikīkī’s best kept secret a traditional French restaurant open for brunch. The biggest problem we had was the hot tubs were not working on the pool deck. My husband was born and raised on Oahu and we lived there together for 10 years and we plan to return again. The Waikīkī Monarch is the perfect stay for holoholo and where we plan to stay at for all of our future visits.

The check-in impression should have been the first clue when no one was there at 4:30 pm, then the gentleman was rude and seemingly annoyed by having to perform a check-in service. We got up to the room and it looks NOTHING like the photos online other than the white linen on the bed. It was DIRTY in the room. Everything costs extra- like using the gym, putting your luggage in the storage room the day of check out if you need it secured for an hour or two. The only time I encountered pleasant staff was when my hotel key card was not working and I had to come all the way back down from the 24th floor, wait in line and then have it turned back on, for the hot elevator ride back up to the stinky industrial carpet palace. I wish I had looked at other review sites on this place first. Oh and if you need parking the gentleman at the desk has nothing to do with that and will tell you very quickly...and it is $50/day, cash only. Enjoy.

The rooms were the best, the first room was filthy, ac didn’t work and leaked, I assume it hadn’t been clean properly because my allergies acted up, it wasn’t till we requested another room my condition got better. Comically bad stay

One of the worst hotel stays I've ever experienced, and that's saying something. Customer service was either unavailable or downright hostile. I called the front desk: \"Could I get a couple more pillows and towels?\" \"No pillows. You can have 2 towels.\" 😳 Oh, and I had to go back down to the lobby from the 19th floor to get them myself. The bed was unbelievably uncomfortable, like from another planet. The room was dingy and sparse and dirty. They did update the bathroom a bit, I'll give them that, but the sink was clogged. And the TV didn't work. One of the main reasons we booked this place was because they advertised on Hotels.com that they have an airport shuttle. Come to find out you have to book your own shuttle with a third party and you have to somehow magically know that you need to do it 24 hours in advance. Which, of course, we didn't know, so we ended up having to arrange our own transportation to the airport. Unbelievably bad, top to bottom. Do not stay at this hotel.
