The hotel was so filthy I had to clean it myself before feeling comfortable enough to sleep. There were bugs that resembled Roaches, not visible in my room but in the elevators and garbage room . Splatters of unknown brown substance on the walls, pebbles, sand and dirt on the room floor.Built up grime in the crevices of the golden mirror. One swipe on the wall/floor with a wipe and it was dark brown. House keeping didn’t once come to my room in the 5 days I stayed. After work, I got back at the hotel at 2230 and noticed once I got up to my room that I started my period. I had no feminine hygiene products on me and the room didn’t either. The room also didn’t have toilet paper, due to not being cleaned the entire time. I called the front desk to ask if they had feminine hygiene products for sale, to which they said no. I then askedtt if they could bring me a roll of toilet paper since the room was out, to which they told me no and to go all the way down to the lobby desk and get it myself… mind you, I’m bleeding on ur myself at this point with not even toilet paper to help absorb the mess. This was the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at

friendly staff, quick service, requested more towels and toilet paper and it arrived within 5 minutes. Loved the shops on the first floor and food trucks located right across the street where the workers were just as kind. Our AC stopped working our last night there, then our socket blew after plugging in a phone charger. All in all great service and great experience.
I would stay here again.

Very small, dirty and stinky. The bed covers and chair cushions were torn, floor was extremely sticky and slippery, when we opened the refrigerator the entire room was filled with stink, we had to open the doors for a few minutes.

The room was in very poor condition. In a 5 day stay they did not clean the room once. Holes in the walls, counters and broken door frames. There is no associated parking and the lot next door was $50 a day. We got a noise complaint at noon because we were playing music while getting ready. Front desk never answered the phones when needed. Would not go back.

Second rate hotel. Furniture is all scratched. Walls are dirty. Beds and pillows barely comfortable. Some of this staff is not very nice. Forget about getting a callback from them, since they don’t answer their phone parent. If you don’t ask for cleaning of the room, it’s not going to happen.

Clean room staff was friendly, pool area was nice. ...coffee shop is great skip the store pricey go to the 7/12 food at the restaurant was good over priced. Food truck are good to eat at lots to do with in walking distance. You have to pay $50 per day to park.

The mattress already had brown stains on it. The mattress was super uncomfortable and all the walls had some dirt on it and just a very unclean experience. Left a day early because my experience was so bad and then they charged me an extra 40 dollars for WiFi and dining which I didn’t need and thought I already paid for everything when booking through Expedia. This place just wants to make money and the experience is very cheap and the blanket feels rough and uncomfortable and unclean. There’s a nice view but they doesn’t do any good when the experience is met with an unfriendly welcome and a dirty place, never going back after trying to leave early they couldn’t do refund after complaining about.

Very fine establishment. Staff was extremely friendly and accommodating, I can not sing their praises enough.

The room was OK, definitely a little dated. However, if you are the type of person to plan on being out all day and just come back to shower and sleep, it is great!

About a mile walk to the main Waikiki beach, so be prepares to walk, but the businesses that are based at the hotel are extremely convenient, especially the jeep rental and restaurants.

I would indeed book again!

Clean room. Excellent reception staff provided an early check-in room. Conveniently located to beach, shops and restaurants.

The hotel room was clean but tired and in need of some refreshing. Curtains didn’t fully cover the windows and aircon was loud.

The staff was great and the location was nice. The beds were substandard in all ways, the linens were as cheap as they could possibly be (think ancient army blanket). The overused mattress was covered in plastic to prevent bed bugs so it was as if I was sleeping on trash bags guaranteeing the sleeper to be sweaty all night.

The staff were exceptional, especially the individual who checked us in early. The room though was very disappointing. The room smelt strongly of piss well the floor was sticky and dirty like it was not cleaned. I had forgotten my hair product and was also disappointed that well they offer body soap and shampoo there was no conditioner or additional soap to wash your hands. Not a big deal breaker as we just used the bar soap to wash our hands as well. I’ve stayed at this hotel many times as it’s typically nice for the price you pay, conveniently located in Waikiki away from the Main Street but within walking distance from a lot of good restaurants.

The clerk was very personable at check in, but it turned out that they had assigned me to room 1801, which sits beside an active elevator shaft! In addition to hearing noises all night, I was forced to contend with a non-flushing toilet. I tried calling the front desk to report it, but the phone didn’t work.

Didn't use the laundry setup. And I expected to use the hot tub but when I arrived and checked in was informed that the hot tub and pool was shut down for maintenance. I feel scammed. I had booked my reservations on the 29th and had been calling multiple times spoke to several different personnel at the hotel about different concerns before I even got there, one of them was my need for the jacuzzi and nobody informed me that it wasn't in service. I arrived late at night after my shift. I live on Oahu and I work. I took a bus and transferred three times was very tired. The personnel was very rude and impatient with me. I tried asking for a refund I also asked for a comp of some sort the man was very rude and distasteful I will never come back again or recommend this hotel to anyone. I am extremely dissatisfied and as a Kamaaina, I especially expected to be treated better. He gave me two complimentary drinks, after I asked for something and I told him I don't even drink what else you got. He said we got a gym. I just wanted to rest in a hot bath couldn't do that either cuz it's stand-up showers. I really looked forward to the jacuzzi. It was terrible I asked for a complimentary breakfast or something. He just got ruder and ruder. I'm still really just saddened by the experience. I feel ripped off. By the door, cockroach kinda welcoming us then spotted 2 more in between bed in the floor.
Yet, rather than this it was been supposed to be excellent.
Friendly advise, to upgrade the beds into more firm & durable in the sense that both beds easily fall apart from headboards.
Though, I commend the linens & towels, was one of the best set up & neat, doesn't made us uncomfortable to think we are checked in with \"cockys'.

Great spot, amazing views. The staff was exceptionally friendly, the little karaoke restaurant and bar was a lot of fun and the burgers were good. It is not the Marriott, it’s a different kind of nice. It’s a conveniently located hotel that’s across the street from a bunch of food trucks and it has one of Waikīkī’s best kept secret a traditional French restaurant open for brunch. The biggest problem we had was the hot tubs were not working on the pool deck. My husband was born and raised on Oahu and we lived there together for 10 years and we plan to return again. The Waikīkī Monarch is the perfect stay for holoholo and where we plan to stay at for all of our future visits.

The check-in impression should have been the first clue when no one was there at 4:30 pm, then the gentleman was rude and seemingly annoyed by having to perform a check-in service. We got up to the room and it looks NOTHING like the photos online other than the white linen on the bed. It was DIRTY in the room. Everything costs extra- like using the gym, putting your luggage in the storage room the day of check out if you need it secured for an hour or two. The only time I encountered pleasant staff was when my hotel key card was not working and I had to come all the way back down from the 24th floor, wait in line and then have it turned back on, for the hot elevator ride back up to the stinky industrial carpet palace. I wish I had looked at other review sites on this place first. Oh and if you need parking the gentleman at the desk has nothing to do with that and will tell you very quickly...and it is $50/day, cash only. Enjoy.

The rooms were the best, the first room was filthy, ac didn’t work and leaked, I assume it hadn’t been clean properly because my allergies acted up, it wasn’t till we requested another room my condition got better. Comically bad stay

One of the worst hotel stays I've ever experienced, and that's saying something. Customer service was either unavailable or downright hostile. I called the front desk: \"Could I get a couple more pillows and towels?\" \"No pillows. You can have 2 towels.\" 😳 Oh, and I had to go back down to the lobby from the 19th floor to get them myself. The bed was unbelievably uncomfortable, like from another planet. The room was dingy and sparse and dirty. They did update the bathroom a bit, I'll give them that, but the sink was clogged. And the TV didn't work. One of the main reasons we booked this place was because they advertised on Hotels.com that they have an airport shuttle. Come to find out you have to book your own shuttle with a third party and you have to somehow magically know that you need to do it 24 hours in advance. Which, of course, we didn't know, so we ended up having to arrange our own transportation to the airport. Unbelievably bad, top to bottom. Do not stay at this hotel.

Pictures and description in your platform are very misleading. The lobby was horrible, ripped dirty carpet, entry area was boarded off. Red flag is when the clerk made me sign that room is nonrefundable!!! Room was horrible, I was scared to have my twins there, and within 30 min booked another hotel for the remainder of my trip. I was in the room for less than 5 hours.

The check in clerk seemed poorly trained and Unprofessional with his “Trump” gear. I really don’t want to know the politics of someone working at a hotel.
The restaurant area was very loud even with only 4-5 people there. We left and had dinner at another place.
There is no real lobby.
We’ll never stay here again and would discourage others from staying here.

finding the entrance to even get to the hotel was not easy. Once I parked, there are no signs as to where to find the check in desk so I just got on the elevator and went to LL and L, eventually finding the check-in.

Once getting to the room is it very old and outdated, floors need to be mopped very badly! The dresser drawers just fall out when you open them, so not even usable. There is nasty stuff all over the bathroom mirror. If you pick up a glass off the dresser, it sticks and then a ring where it has been sitting, so gross.

My last straw was an actual cockroach crawling on the dresser where the microwave is, this was not the large water bug ones; an actual roach. I can not have my kids staying in a place that has roaches and risk the roaches getting into my belongings and potentially taking them back to infest my home. I ended up checking out within 12 hrs of arrival. I reached out to the management and I still haven’t received a response.

Hotel is older, furniture is not very up to date. There were some cockroaches in our room however Iv come learn it’s common here. The staff were nice but stingy with towels or anything extra you may need. The room was spacious enough but the bed was pretty uncomfortable. Seems like they spent more money on the floors than anything else. The pros are the distance to the beach, restaurants and the pool area. If all you want is a place to sleep and shower this one is a step up from a motel.

Limited staff. Towels ran out. Parking was expensive. Not a family friendly place. More like a one night stand motel. Unsanitary. Possible blood stains in the corner. Picked up cleaning supplies to sanitize the room. Last night the bathroom started leaking inside the wall. The paint bubbled and eventually burst water. The bathroom flooded and had to use the towels to keep the water from flowing into the bedroom. The night staff assisted with giving us their remaining towels. In the morning I had to wring out the towels as they were all soaked. The pool area looked nice and we spent as little time on the property. The hotel partners with AirBnB so take what you will from that. Checked out the Yelp reviews and they were not as kind as me. All one star reviews wanting to give it zero stars.

This hotel is an appointment building and air BNB. Long waits for elevator going high up on the floors with many people. Spraying for infestation but didn’t know what it was infested with.

No parking by hotel. $50 cash at parking garage or take chances on the street with homeless people. Resort fees but unable to tell me what I got for the charge. Not a resort by any means.

Very small rooms, 1 free -lug in the room. Toilet was infront of the entry to the shower so difficult to enter. Rooms not well maintained; Light kept turning on and off by itself and couldn’t really control air conditioner.

The room was filthy. The floors were so nasty and dirty when we checked in as if they never swept or mopped it. The walls were disgusting and dirty. The vent fan in the restroom was so dusty and literally coming out the ceiling. The chairs with the table looked like they came out a dumpster (not even joking at all, I wish I was.) the fact that I had to go down daily to ask for towels and to ask for the room to be cleaned was INSANE to me. The towels were literally all stained black and just so disgusting. Beds were so hard. Trust me and pay the few extra hundred for a better hotel. This felt more like a Motel. Me and my son got a rash after sleeping here. If I was able to get refunded and stay somewhere else I would have.

One employee experience

Place is not a first choice, when arrived it was clean. But i never once saw a hotel house keeping staff. We had to go get clean towels at receptionist. The whole week i only saw the receptionist. She ran the whole place i guess. I never got our room cleaned after 3 days as indicated on hotel sight.
Very nice receptionist. The rental place that was across from cade was a great deal. The cafe was so dirty. Hotel business need cleaning, windows horrible.

The rooms were very dirty and never received housekeeping service with a 5 night stay. Also the towels were very dirty and stained as well as the blankets.
