We stay here every time we come to Hawaii. The staff went above and beyond. Great location and walking distance to all of the shops and restaurants. John and the Valet guys were helpful and knew all of the spots to go to. Room was clean and the views were majestic. Nightly entertainment by the pool was enjoyable. We’ll be back soon.

Location - oceanfront - beach view was awesome - walking distance to everything - shopping- restaurants - parks - beach etc - the second room we got was amazing - oceanfront balcony - king bed room - renovated - included breakfast and happy hour - which were very good !!! Our first room was terrible - it was in the “ diamond head “ tower which is 4 floors - we were out on the 2nd floor and asked if we would have a good view - he said not diamond head view (unless you hang off the balcony ) - he said the only diamond view was the 4 th floor- which were suites - the 3rd floor was the free breakfast /HH room - our view was a a very very small balcony attached to a roof area - we could not even see the beautiful beach right below us - and to top it off - they were doing some renovations on that roof area and had caution tape and equipment laying out there so that was our view - we could not even go out in that small small balcony to enjoy the ocean view because we smelled like paint/tar - the room was outdated and let me add - we paid a lot of $$ for this special “ diamond head “ balcony oceanfront room - the manager said hotels.com just puts a standard photo - which really does not represent what you are really getting - he moved our room to the 5th floor ocean tower - balcony - oceanfront - beach view - and gave us a $150 credit for the “ roof renovation “ issues - they were very nice and apologetic - the hotel was great / beautiful - had a great restaurant - Monkeypod!!!

Outrigger Reef was fantastic. Room was very large and had great views of Diamondhead and the ocean. Pool area is very nice with a bar/grille and plenty of space for everyone. Live music every night. Staff was very pleasant and accommodating. Walking distance from many great restaurants and the center of Waikiki. Highly recommend Outrigger Reef for anyone heading to Waikiki.

Very nice hotel. The hotel really made us feel like we were on vacation. It really has the feel of a Hawaiian vacation. We would probably stay there again. The only problem was loud music coming from the pool from about 7 pm until about 10 pm. The hotel doesn't take guests who want a quiet room to relax after a busy day into account.

We had the most amazing stay at the Outrigger Reef. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful.
The restaurants and bars were great the food and drinks were delicious and our room was like nothing I had ever seen before. It truly was a dream come true.
We are already planning our return for next year and a stay at the outrigger will be the first thing we book!

Outriggers Reef is a beautiful resort right off the beach. Staff was great, facility was gorgeous and close to an abundance of restaurants and shopping, and pool area and direct beach access was awesome! The gym was well equipped and yoga class was relaxing & restorative. Activities, like lei making with Auntie taught us much about the Hawaiian culture. Thank you!

Amazing staff. I believe his name was Ambrose? He really took care of us for my wife’s 35th bday. That man deserves a raise. But overall, first time staying here. Do not let the bad reviews fool you. Yes, there is construction ongoing but its quite literally just right by the front restaurant. Not loud at all either they stop working at night. Pool area is clean, jacuzzi area is hot. Beach right outside the hotel is rocky so wear water shoes. Room is beautiful, and all staff has just been extremely friendly. We will be back!!

Right on the beach. Walking distance to all the shops and restaurants. Starbucks in the lobby opens at 5 am. ABC grocery store on ground floor has all the stuff you'll need. Every employee was helpful, attentive and friendly. Room was clean and the sheets and towels very nice. Body wash, shampoo and conditioner were great.

In my first room on 5th floor, overlooking the pool, the music was much too loud. I requested a room further away from the live music and since they didn't have one on that floor they gave me a 17th floor room for a discount. The view was wonderful there but the music was still too loud to sleep. Ask for a room on the side opposite the music. The MonkeyPod restaurant onsite is good.

Could improve: Provide a dresser and a microwave. The magnifying mirrors in both rooms were coming loose from the wall; obviously not attached to a stud. The light in the shower room flashed after it was on for a while. Bed was quite soft and slightly sagged away from the middle. Water/ice dispenser was quite rusty.

Even though I list things that need improvement, I would stay here again.

I definitely will come back and stay in the same hotel! They have the performance at the bar every night, the beach is a few steps from your room, sitting in the restaurant in the hotel, you can see the ocean, the birds are singing and sometimes fly into the restaurant to say hello to you, the most important is the people who work there, they work so hard to make me and my husband to have the best anniversary we have ever had. Love this hotel!!!

Our room was very clean and comfortable and spacious. My only suggestion would be a little more Hawaiian decor and color in the room. It just looked like any other hotel room and we would have liked a more cheerful, tropical flair for a visit to Hawaii.
While the hotel had many opportunities for activities and relaxing by a lovely pool, our favorite thing was the Monkeypod restaurant on site. It had beautiful decor, ocean views from the tables, live music from talented artists and everything on the menu was delicious. The wait staff and bartenders were all very fun and friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. Needless to say we ate all our meals there!
We also ordered from there for room service and our food was delivered right away.

We enjoyed our stay at OUTRIGGER Reef Waikiki. The check-in went smoothly, and the staff were very helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The room amenities were excellent. There was a Keurig coffeemaker, and delicious Pacific Paradise coffee and hot tea k-cups were provided. They provided each guest with their own aluminum water bottle with a handle lid, and there were handy filtered water dispensers through the property in order to reduce plastic waste. There was a mini fridge in our room. There were restaurants, shops and activities on the property. The outdoor pool was beautiful, and there was daily live music at the pool area. The location was on the beach and next door to a military museum. It is in walking distance of many restaurants and shopping.

The property appears to have been renovated the rooms are renovated. The are a few down sides the first is the hotel does not have a beach, where you can layout enjoy the ocean, you have to walk to other hotels. Second, downside is the pool, it’s small. Third, I found the lobby area to be loud it’s like being at a convention center. Ultimately stayed just one night and moved to another property.

When I booked my room I paid for an ocean view room and I got a partial ocean view. My balcony faced the second building so my view was the second building and the ocean was to the left of my balcony. Otherwise hotel was okay. I don’t think I would stay here again.

Pool chairs were not very comfy. no cushions and lots of kids at the pool at all hours. Plus, you can not see the ocean from the pool so it just feels like you could be anywhere. The hotel next door A/C unit faces all the poolside rooms so even though we had an ocean partial view all we heard was a massive heating and air unit. Beach is suppppper small and basically unusable for adults. The staff, restaurant on site and rooms were great. Very nice, clean and updated.

First time staying at this resort and it did not disappoint. There’s so much do to and the food options on the property are fantastic. I fell in love with housekeeping! They do such a great job cleaning daily and they are so warm and sweet! I also have to mention Joe at the outrigger activities center. Please go to him to schedule all your excursions. He was nice, patient and very accommodating. One elevator kept going out but it wasn’t a problem. The WiFi needs work. It wasn’t that great. I will be staying here again!

Ok hotel, rooms clean.Good location, close to restaurants and shopping. Both onsite restaurants overpriced. Small beach and many rocks, you will need watershoes. Also, there is no beach chairs, you need to lay on sand on your towels, if you dont want to rent. All week we were there problems with elevator.

I was surprised to find the hotel not as clean and well maintained as expected specially for the price. One elevator car was out of service at one point, there was some maintenance needed for a leak or something in the ceiling which they had to put up construction plastic which was not aesthetically pleasing. The hallways smelled moldy and had an unpleasant odor agin was surprising because of the class of the resort. We had issues with our bathroom sink. But the staff were friendly and helpful, our room clean and spacious. The amenities were also nice.

I did not like the design of the bathroom sink. The faucet is too close to the back of the sink so my hands hit the sink when trying to wash my hands.

Nice that there's filtered water available near the front desk but I wish there was a similar water dispenser on each floor of the hotel.

The elevator is pretty quick. One elevator was temporarily out of service but they brought it back online in a day or two.

I would stay again.

Overall the property is nice. The pool is small and most of it is deeper than 5 ft. So people gather in the small shallow area. There are three small hot tubs but one was closed during our entire stay. The walls of the hotel are very thin so you can hear people in other rooms and the doors slam. The staff is nice but don't go out of their way to be helpful. There is a very nice swing in the lobby to lounge on. The best part of our stay were the daily activities like Lei making, Easter cookie decorating etc that the hotel organized for the kids (and adults).

The breakfast vouchers that were included with my stay included a full breakfast every morning at the Monkeypod restaurant, which was a nice perk. The pool was very crowded with lots of kids and the elevators were often full and had to wait sometimes for one that was not already packed.

The bathroom was very outdated. There’s no switch for the bathroom vent which was rusty and dusty. There’s no place to hang hand towel by the sink so had to hang it on the magnifier mirror. The table/ledge under TV and the coffee maker and box that had the coffee pods were visibly dusty. There was no office chair for the table/ledge that standard hotel rooms have; I had to request one and that was dusty and scratched up. The Pacific Tower ocean view was nice, able to see Friday night fireworks from balcony. The location was great, walkable to a lot of restaurants and shops. Staff was very nice. Valet takes a while to get the car because of other guests. As guests, there’s free admission to Bishop Museum and discount to Cirque du Soleil Auana.

Wonderful stay and helpful staff! Check-in was a breeze and we really enjoyed the Monkeypod kitchen restaurant onsite with oceanfront view. Valet parking is $60/day. I think it would be super helpful to have self serve onsite laundry. The location is wonderful and close walk to shops and restaurants. This hotel is right on the beach, although it is a small recreational area. Would recommend if booking an ocean view to stay in the Ocean tower rather than the Pacific tower for better views.

The Outrigger Reef Hotel was Superb! Checking in was a breeze! What a Gorgeous Property. Everything was Brand New. The staff made our trip! From Valet, The Bellman that brought our luggage, the ladies who worked in the Cultural Center to experience the daily activities that taught us about Hawaiian Culture. We made Lei’s, Hawaiian Bracelets, Key Chains, we even did temporary tattoos that were fun with several other guests! What a Magical Experience! We made the Best of the Storms of 2026 and All the Sunrises and Sunsets, Turtle Watching, surfers, snorkeling right from our balcony. We had a great stay at the Outrigger Reef. From the moment we arrived, the staff especially was efficient, kind, courteous, helpful - the true spirit of aloha. We loved our spacious rooms and especially our balcony with the little table and chairs. We also loved our view of the park below, with the beach on one side and more of Waikiki and the mountains on the other side. The Reef has lots of fun activities you can participate in like lei making, hula lessons, etc. Breakfast by the water at the Monkeypod restaurant was amazing and a great way to start every day. I loved the live Hawaiian music and drinks at the pool grill in the evening. We hope to be back sometime soon! Mahalo nui loa Outrigger Reef!

Also the hot tubs were closed more than they were open. There is a very small amount of common space to enjoy on the property.

We stayed at the hotel for six nights. The location is excellent, with its own beach and a peaceful atmosphere that never felt crowded. There are also many great restaurants nearby, and it is conveniently close to the Royal Hawaiian Center. All of the staff, including the front desk, bell services, and housekeeping, were friendly and always smiling. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

This is a super busy place with a popular waterfront restaurant MonkeyPod. So it required a 1 hour wait for dinner! Breakfast voucher for 1 per day there too but only a select menu choice. Room was nice. And we lived one pm checkout. ABC store right on site convenient. Food great at other on site restaurant. Clean water for swimming.
