How they handled correcting a problem. Booked a 3 night stay and when we checked in at 11:00 AM they were nice and said a room was available. After approaching them early the first night to say the room provided us was not what we reserved they were quick to get us the correct style room for the next two nights.

Excellent location, steps to restaurants, shops, etc. Great amenities (eg reusable water bottle, beach bag, etc). Comfortable, and very pleasant stay. For those who are looking for an actual pool however - would caution that this pool is only a wading pool + hot tub. Very happy with this stay.

The location of the hotel was my family and myself’s favorite part. Close to shopping, many places to eat from low priced to high priced eateries. Hotel was clean the employees were very nice and the parking was good, just be mindful that parking is 50-60$ per night and the hotel front desk usually let you know how they will charge you .

Location is good! The rest leaves something to be desired.. Check in is @ 3pm, room wasnt ready until 330pm.. we kept being put off until they could find a room, not the one we had booked remind you! We usually don't want maid service, however we requested twice in a six night stay, did not receive once! Luckily Anastasia at the front desk was a great help and provided us with necessities! Thanks Anastasia! Downtown Waikiki has no shortage in clapped out Civics and Camaros, you WILL hear them all night if resting here. The pool was mellow, not enough depth to swim! Walking distance to everything!

The building is relatively new, with a Japanese-inspired interior. The room had a small bathtub and a bidet, which was a nice touch. Housekeeping can be done daily or once every four days, and bed sheets are normally changed every four days, but they will change them upon request. I appreciated having this choice as a guest. Tess was in charge of our floor, and she did a great job keeping the room very clean.
The pool area includes a small kids’ pool and a shallow foot-washing pool, and there is also a jacuzzi, which we enjoyed. Slippers and an electric kettle are provided upon request.

The hotel is not directly beachfront, about an 8-minute walk, but the hotel offers beach towels, umbrellas, boards, and beach chairs, which was very convenient.

The location is excellent, with many restaurants and shops nearby such as Ross, Nordstrom Rack, and Target. The lobby is comfortable and well-equipped with microwaves, hot water, and plenty of tables, making it easy for families to bring food and eat together. However, there is no restaurant in the hotel, so there is no breakfast or room service.

Overall, the hotel was clean, comfortable, and well-organized. The QR code guide with detailed usage instructions was very helpful, and we were very satisfied with our stay.

The front desk staff is amazing! It’s the rules of this hotel that I am disappointed in. Now I realize why most tourists are opting for other International destinations because of ridiculous resort fees here in Hawaii. You don’t even get notice of them until after you check out and it is automatically billed! Ridiculous! They took a couple hundred from my bank account and Expedia claims that taxes and resort fees are Included. In this case…not at all! Will never stay In Waikiki ever again.

Just be careful with resort fees. I booked on Expedia and says taxes and resort fees are included but I was charged an extra couple hundred dollars for more resort fees and taxes that Expedia said it was all included into the price. I don’t think I will ever book a hotel in Hawaii. This hotel and others have an outrageous resort fee. I will not be staying here again. Hidden fees made me very shocked! So surprised when I checked out.

The room was like something out of a scary movie. Smelled horrible. It was dingy. None of the windows would open. I checked in and checked out with in 10 minutes of being there.

They refused to refund my 6 day stay. They basically stole my money and did not care.

. Don’t stay at this hotel and don’t book through Expedia. Save ur money time and a bad experience.

The Hyatt Centric Waikiki Beach Hotel is centrally located in Waikiki. If you are doing activities and need to be picked up, this hotel is one of the few places that they will pick you up from. Everything is walkable from the International Marketplace to the main avenue where you can get to restaurants and the high end retail stores, as well as access to the beach. They even lend you towels and a beach chair to use. The hotel itself is very clean and the staff members are very friendly also. I would definitely stay here again if I decide to return to Honolulu!

Our recent stay at the Hyatt Centric Waikiki Beach was an enjoyable experience overall, offering comfort, convenience, and excellent service in one of Honolulu’s most vibrant areas.

Highlights:

The staff service was exceptional — attentive, professional, and consistently accommodating. Every interaction, from check-in to housekeeping, reflected genuine hospitality and care. The property condition was well-maintained, clean, and modern, with a stylish design that reflects the energy of Waikiki.

The location is one of the property’s strongest points — earning a 5/5. Surrounded by countless shopping and dining options, it’s a highly walkable area with easy access to Waikiki Beach, local attractions, and various excursion opportunities, making it ideal for both leisure and adventure.

Areas for Improvement:

For families, the property rates closer to a 3/5. While it’s comfortable and safe overall, adding enhanced safety features, designated children’s play areas, or family-friendly zones could greatly improve the experience. The pool area, though pleasant, would benefit from an upgrade or expansion to accommodate families and guests looking for a more resort-like feel.

Stayed 2 nights prior to embarking on a cruise. The room was small, but clean. Large wall mounted TV, coffee maker and dry-bar hairdryer along with nice toiletries. Beds were comfortable but seemed short. This property is located near several dining and shopping centers. Beach chairs and umbrella included in the resort fee. This hotel is approximately 2 blocks from the beach. The staff was very friendly and even sent a pre-stay welcome email listing a few restaurants. The pool is wired in that it is only 14 inches deep so like a wading pool but there was a large spa that was nice. The only complaint we had was the lighting in the bathroom is abysmal. The only light is the mirror and no overhead lights. It needs a major upgrade. Other than that, it was as advertised and our stay was pleasant.

The. Hotel is conveniently located in Waikiki with about a 3 block walk to the beach and plenty of shopping and dining locations nearby. We were disappointed that they did not offer a real pool they had a 6” deep wading area and a jacuzzi pool. The hotel is nicely appointed and the staff members were very courteous.

VERY centrally located in Waikiki. Don't need a car if you intend to hang out mostly in Waikiki.

Rooms were clean and staff were friendly and helpful.

AC worked well (but note that it turns off after 10 mins of no motion so you will come back to a hot room, but it cools down quickly).

There are no restaurants onsite except a Starbucks downstairs but there are TONS of restaurants within 1 minute walking distance but if you like to order breakfast in bed, this property isn't for you.

The only ding I would give this hotel is that it doesn't provide any glasses in the bathroom, not even cheap crappy plastic ones. So, in order to brush your teeth, you need to take one of the paper cups provided at the coffee station.

POOL LOVERS: important for you to note that they don't have a real pool. It's INCHES deep, not FEET deep. It's great for little toddlers to splash around but if you want a real pool, pick a different hotel because you will be disappointed.

Lastly, like most hotels now, they provide a freebie plastic water bottle and there is a dispenser in the lobby and the gym where you can fill up for free. More eco-friendly and you get a little souvenir to take home to boot!

Overall, if you want something centrally located, clean, comfortable, and easy, and don't care about having an onsite restaurant and/or real pool, the Hyatt Centric is a great choice if you're planning on staying in Waikiki.

Third time staying here in as many years. Great location near the international marketplace, as well as lots of good dining options (check out Zigu a block away for great sushi and drinks). Also just a couple blocks away from prime beach real estate and more shopping choices. Staff is always very friendly and helpful. Stayed 7nights with our toddler. The hotel was great and in the best location. Walking distance to a lot of shops, restaurants, and about a 10 min walk to the beach. Note that the parking garage is tight but if you ever drove in a city - you’ll be fine (park at level 5 or 6- hotel entrance is at level 6 within the garage). Bed is firm but you get used to it lol. The only disappointing thing that others have mentioned too is the pool which is goes up to your ankles or shines. They definitely could’ve built a deeper pool.

The property itself was amazing. Friendly staff, very accommodating, and clean. Loved that they offered special classes to participate in - they didn’t cost extra due to the resort fees that are included in price of your stay. It’s located in a fantastic spot and in close proximity to many dining, shopping, entertainment options. My only complaint, and it’s not a huge complaint, is that it can get a touch noisy outside late at night, due to the nightlife from the bar crowds that are close by. The noise wasn’t excessive every night or even lasting all night long, but there was a night where I was awaken around 3am, by fighting that was occurring between a couple of gentlemen that appeared to be quite intoxicated. Our suite was on the 14th floor, so we weren’t super close to street level, and still the commotion was loud enough to wake me from a deep sleep. Everything else about the property was great, and far outweighed that small negative that I experienced.

Very central location, with our room facing the mauka (mountain/city) side. Parking structure is very tight and difficult to maneuver if you have a full size or SUV/truck, and you’re limited to parking within a small section out of several floors and some stalls are reserved for the HI version of Zipcars. We found it odd that hotel management staff get to park close to the entrance, while guests have to fight for the limited stalls between floors 5 & 6. Amenities were decent, with some water bottle filling stations located at the bar and near the pool restrooms. We needed a room with a private sectioned off area since we had an older teen with us. We were moved to a room with a sliding door separating the bed from the sofa bed but there was no AC vent in the bedroom! We were suffering in the heat and had to crank the AC during the day to “pre-cool” our bedroom so we could get some sleep. It was so hot, we almost had friends drop off fans for us. Other than these 2 issues it’s a good property, but definitely too expensive for what you get with room layouts.

This place has location on its side and that’s all I stood here for 10 days and spent 5000 there’s listed amenities like laundry which isn’t actually available at the hotel but there’s a company that will pick up ur clothes and charge by item there’s also a bar and restaurant listed that’s not available the front desk staff was only there to help soften the.blow for all the bad news given to me and help is an overstatement the pool and hot tub is very small and not a rooftop the security deposit was more than expected considering the price of a nightly stay when I was checking out I realized I left something in the room not even an hour after checkout and they refused to look or let me look saying I’d have to reach out later and they’d mail it thankfully it wasn’t my wallet the lady at the desk just kept repeating the policy like I was talking to a robot and not a person overall the place was very clean and the location is very close to everything otherwise I’d probably rent a car if possible and book an airbnb also one of th

Aloha...Above and Beyond!

This place was the perfect combination of \"boutique\" and \"big name\" in hotels. Centrally-located, the main Waikiki strip is half a block over (Kalakaua Ave). I want to call out one person specifically --- Samay --- Not only was she able to check us in early, she even went above and beyond --- the first room we were in didn't have all the amenities we were hoping for when we booked --- so she graciously found us the type of room we were looking for and we paid for the upgrade --- worth every penny! Because of her excellent customer service and everyone's hospitality, we plan to stay here again on our next visit to Oahu. Thank you, Samay!
