Terrible experience. The staff, specialy the old lady at the front desk was non friendly, non speakable. We arrived at 2PM and she told us the houskeeping not cleaned up our room and check-in is between 3-4PM. AT 4PM, 5PM, 6PM she told us that later not cleaned up the room. Finaly at 6:30 PM we had our room. The room was dirty, old carpet with dust and sand, bath applancies were old. Noisy people, and neighboarhood. I not recommand, for a little more you can find something at a better quality.

I called and requested 2 queen beds 3 days before we arrived. They said they couldnt garentee 2 queens but they do have pull out beds. When we arrived they \"upgraded\" us to a king bed and pull out couch. The room they gave us was dirty, absolutely filthy. The pull out bed sheets dirty. Food and hair all over them. The carpet needed vacuumed. There was bare feet prints and sticky spills all over the linoleum floors in the kitchenette. Toothpaste in the sink and hair in the shower. I went back to reception and he offered to give me sheets to change the bedding! He said he only has 1 other room available. I went to that room and it had a king bed and a single chair pull out. That would not work for 4 adults. He said 3 can sleep in the king bed... 2 of the elevators were out of order. We DO NOT recommend this hotel its absolutely gross. To be fair the reception guy was very apologetic and nice. There was just nothing he could do at 1am. We had to drive around and find another hotel.

We had selected two units for this stay. So we had the insight of two different rooms on different parts of the property. The rooms we had booked online were not reserved for us and we were given different rooms that were not what we had reserved.
Both rooms were dirty. There was a roach infestation. One of the rooms was near the trash Shute, the whole floor smelled terrible. Staff was mostly rude. Honestly, there’s better places to stay.

While the staff provided excellent service, the stay was hindered by ongoing issues: outdated room accommodations, insufficient facility maintenance, and no daily room cleaning over eight nights. We were charged for accommodations without receiving consistent cleaning or upkeep. I’m sharing this feedback to urge a proactive review and prompt remediation; at the moment, I cannot recommend this property.

The room was dirty, including the curtains and balcony. We booked to enjoy the balcony but couldn’t use it due to the condition. The furniture was very outdated, and there was a strong trash smell near our door. In seven nights, the room was never cleaned, and towels had to be picked up downstairs. Pool towel policy was inconvenient. The pillows were very uncomfortable and caused neck pain.

True 3 star. Great location. Room although was renovated has some miles on it. Listing shows like new condition. Rug is stretched, furniture and cupboards paint is chipped. Miss matched dishes. Original impression was disappointing. Dark hallways, old elevators. But for price, location and staff cannot complain. Everything did work, water was hot, mattress, bedding and pillow clean and comfortable. Fridge was cold. Pool was smaller than expected from photo and extremely cold. A long time resident said it was always cold. Hot tub was super hot. Main drag with restaurants and shopping within two blocks. Public transit takes you everywhere. Make sure to get the app. You are on canal and very quiet. Staff were great. We would definitely stay here again. Location was perfect.

This was our second stay. We love the location. It’s an easy walk to restaurants, shops and the beach. The staff is friendly and helpful. The room was clean and well equipped. We had a great view from the generous sized lanai.

The young man pat desk was rude and not helpful
Did not explain key usage, no map of property so we could get feel for how to navigate around property
Paper we got didn’t give hours of operation on any amenities avail it did say cleaning every three days but no house keeper came in a week
We had to exchange towels at desk ask for garbage bags soap etc he did not explain that either. We had issues with locks first three days had re keyed 5-6xs maintenance came once to check but kept having issues… I would not stay again and I think should get refund when paper said jousleeo every three days not even a broom in unit to sweep no mop ether or vacum

Pretty convenient location next to Ali Wai Canal, great for sunrise walks. International Market Place and with Target 5 minute walk. Nice sunrise view of Diamond Head from 26 Floor. Maholo.

The check in clerk didn’t mention how to get from parking lot back to main lobby to take different elevator up to rooms, it was late at night so we were confused but luckily came upon a security guard to direct us. Then our room was in need of a proper cleaning and maintenance. The bathroom was especially dirty with the floor, baseboards and corners in need of attention. The door was a barn style door and it was obvious the housekeepers never closed the door while cleaning the bathroom as the baseboards behind it were covered in dust etc. The tub was peeling and the drain had a black ring. The baseboards were water damaged and rather than replacing this they just gobbed on more caulking around it. The third day housekeeping never arrived so we had to ask for more towels, coffee from the front desk.

The hotel is in a good location BUT it has cockroaches. We informed the front desk and they didn’t do much about it. They asked if we will continue to stay or find another hotel which we couldn’t find in the last minute and they wouldn’t refund the days left. We had them come spray yet the next day we saw multiple roaches in the night time. Very disgusting and disappointing.

Our room was dirty. The day we arrived the sheets were stained. There were four of us and not enough towels. There was no daily housekeeping, only on the 3rd day. We had a couple of cockroach's in our room. The only thing nice about the hotel was the location, less than 5 min wall from international market.

I’ll preface this by saying I don’t mind older hotels, provided they’re clean and well kept. The IC is neither anymore. We’ve stayed here before but won’t be back. It was not only dated, but in quite a state of disrepair and dirty. The mattresses and pillows were both lumpy and rock hard with no support. And to top it off, the pool was closed for annual maintenance but neither the hotel or hotels.com gave us any warning. Super disappointed.

Wow. What a “stay”. This review will be mainly based on the hotel itself and partially the staffs. All staffs I encountered were friendly. But, friendly will not fix the their roach problem. I checked in at the hotel at 3pm. I noticed it was a little outdated and carpets and furniture were stained ( dog friendly hotel). I’m not picky so I didn’t mind it, plus it was a nice view of the Ala Wai Canal. I woke up at 6am in the morning to 5+ cockroaches crawling all over my friend’s toothbrush! Imagine waking up later in the day, you’d never know cockroaches were there! My friend would have been brushing her teeth with diseased ridden pests. I was disgusted, and quickly went to front desk. I showed the receptionist Shanel the video, she was apologetic but not surprised. They did not refund my LESS than 24 hour stay. Only the amenities fees and parking. We ended stay at Best Western near Honolulu airport. Which was amazing, CLEAN, friendly staffs, no amenities fees, and free breakfast for to-go and dine in! For much cheaper may I add.

As per the reservation that I made it was noted check in time is not until 3 pm. As such it seemed to be perfect time when my class would be ending. Got to the hotel at 330 where the line to check in was long. The woman checking me in told me the room is not ready and I’ll have to wait but that was all she said. So I sat in the lobby for 2 hours with no update nothing. So I began to contact Expedia for a solution they were not much help stating that check ins begin at 3 but doesn’t mean the room will be ready by 3 which is the stupidest thing . I ended up calling hotels in the area to verify that if I made a reservation and checked in right now that I would be assured that a room would be ready for me. I was able to find one couple blocks away walked over checked in and the room was ready!

The door constantly had a banging noise due to the wind tunnels (neighbors keeping their doors slightly ajar). Would love fridges with ice machines in them. Going all the way to the sixth floor to get ice can be difficult, especially at a certain time of the day, when all the windows elevators are being used. Lots of noise from the streets below and our room had very thin curtains.

There were 2 good things about this hotel - the view was excellent, and they were good enough to receive an important FedEx packet for me ahead of my stay. Everything else about this hotel was subpar. All of the furniture, right down to the front desk furniture, looked like it came from the Goodwill store. The check-in process was terribly slow. The bathroom was tiny. The pillows were lumpy and hard. And they charged me a $30 \"amenities fee\", which was not disclosed when I booked, which is a violation of Hawaii state law. And they were just the standard amenities that most hotels automatically include in the room rate. Would not recommend.

Would not stay here again. I booked a panoramic ocean room and was told at the front desk they don’t have ocean view rooms. When I looked up at the hotel, they clearly had rooms that faced the ocean. The rooms were extremely run down, missing locks, dirty stained carpet, ratty torn curtains, beat up furniture, hot room with a fan, loud AC, very noisy streets, bed like a rock. Did not feel safe and hotel staff made excuses for their hotel problems. Would not recommend.

Location is perfect but the hotel is old and needs renovation. The beds are done good. The carpet is old and dirty. Bathroom got molds and mildew every where. Toilet bowl got molds. I need to buy toilet bowl cleaner, chlorox wipes to clean it so we can use the bathroom. The front desk needs customer service trainings...I told them the bathroom is dirty and told us since our stay is short we can't ask for a cleaner ...we just checked in
Oh well, i just cleaned our room and deal with it since we are there for a bit.

We had an absolutely wonderful time! Everyone was so friendly! Our room was upgraded to a king suite due to a booking error. Our views were the best, we could see the canal and the ocean from our lanai. With Diamond Head being the focal point. Absolutely perfect! When we visit again, we're coming back!

We stayed at the Hotel last August 17-20, 2025. I booked at Expedia.ca 2beds with ocean view. When we check in, the room that was given to us was not ocean view, so i went to the reception and told about it. She offered to move us to different room since we haven't unpacked our stuff yet. But when we check the new room there's ants and cockroach flying everywhere. We did not move anymore. Its a budget hotel so what can we expect. One thing i liked staying here was that its close to everything.

The pool was closed for a majority of our stay. We got charged extra for “amenities” but all of the amenities such as kitchen items were extremely dirty and there was no soap or sponges to even clean them. Our key cards kept on giving us a hard time also. We did not get the room that we bought, we bought a 2 bed bedroom but only received one. We only got our room cleaned once during the whole week. Overall, was not happy with our stay.

Bait and switch. Do not believe the photos that this hotel has posted on their website. This is not at all what your room will look like. I booked a room thinking that I was in a renovated updated suite based on all the pictures of fresh looking furniture and paint. The room was dated and dirty, there was mold in the shower. The pullout couch was terribly uncomfortable and my kids had a difficult time sleeping.

My family loved staying here. The rooms were nice and clean, the beds really comfortable, the balcony with table and chairs overlooking the canal and if high enough you can even see the ocean. We loved the pool and hot tub and enjoyed laying in the cabana to just relax. Definitely would stay again.
