Ocean view nice. Had to pay for an upgrade PER day fee. Housekeeping staff were amazing. Restaurant staff were nice. Restaurant manager always seemed like he had a chip on his shoulder.
We hadnt been advised that the hotel was in the process of an overhaul so a lot of sawing and hammering.
Although the rooms were very clean they are very old (dated). Beds and bedding need to be improved.
The property itself is perfect for its location however very old. For the price per room one would expect a little more glam.
Dukes has amazing food and the bartenders are excellent. Would i stay here again? Probably not unless the rooms were updated. The great thing about this property is that it is centrally located on Waikiki Beach.

Remodel was going on. Poor at best bell hop service at check in. Dukes the world famous restaurant was not available for reservations. Hotel had no priority for guests and it was booked all 5 nights we stayed by mostly non hotel staying people. Ocean view room both stays overlooking rooftops with a glimpse of ocean view definitely not worth extra expense. Overall experience was poor especially when we had just experienced Fiji and had twice the hospitality and room for half the price

We recently stayed at the Outrigger Waikīkī Beach for one week and unfortunately had a disappointing experience. We chose the hotel based on its strong reviews and beachfront location, which made the experience even more surprising when it did not live up to expectations.

Given how positive many of the reviews are, we were genuinely surprised by the condition of the property. The hotel feels quite run down, and it’s clear that the rooms have not been updated in years. The overall cleanliness also left a lot to be desired, which made the stay even more disappointing given the price point. At $515 CAD per night, we were hoping for a higher standard.

While the location right on Waikīkī Beach is nice, the hotel itself doesn’t justify the premium price. Our partial ocean view was underwhelming, and there were very few benefits to paying extra for the beachfront property. The hotel also does not provide complimentary beach chairs or umbrellas for guests, which many travelers would reasonably expect, especially when neighboring beach front properties offer them.

Service was another major disappointment. Both check-in and check-out felt unwelcoming. At check-out, staff simply handed us the receipt and resumed their conversation with each other without offering help with luggage or asking about our stay.

The beachfront location is the main positive, but the condition of the hotel and lack of attentive service made the stay feel overpriced and disappointing overall.

We could partially see the ocean even though i booked ocean view. Now i know to book a suite because just ocean view does not get you full view like we wanted sadly.

Great location in the middle of everything. Right on the beach. We purchased breakfast vouchers with our stay, big win especially being able to have a buffet breakfast at Duke’s which kept us full and satisfied. Close to Target so we could have snacks available. The hotel is remodeling currently, but it was a great stay.

Absolutely perfect all around. So convenient to everything. Although valet was expensive at $60 a night it was definitely worth it. All of the staff here is so accommodating and friendly. I will definitely be staying here for our next trip to Hawai’i.

Staff is amazing! Judy, our housekeeper was friendly and made us feel welcomed. I would definitely recommend the Voyager 47. It’s nice to start your day with a relaxing breakfast. The cookies in the afternoon (along with the regular food) are amazing. We had dark chocolate chip cookies that were tasty and huge!

The hotel was well positioned in Waikīkī with direct access to the beach and located in the heart of shopping and restaurant district. Only reason I didn’t score higher was that their fitness room was closed until further notice.

Best hotel on the beach imo. There is some construction that is a bit noisy during daytime and some water outages. Also the hotel used to have surf racks, now it’s much more complicated as they removed them and the boards pile into a storage room. All in all still great.

For the price we paid I expected this resort to be much more upscale. Carpets soiled, furniture nicked and scratched, wallpaper opening at the seams. Only really great thing was the incredible views from the awesome balcony. Room was clean and comfortable. Charged us additional $60 per day resort fee that was basically for pool towels. Fitness center was closed for renovations and extra charged for beach chairs and umbrella.

The room and the staff were great. Breakfast at Duke's was wonderful and the valet staff were quick and friendly.

The hotel is currently under renovations. For the most part, the renovations didn't affect us. However, there was a sizable gap where the door gasket didn't connect, and we could hear the construction noise from hotel renovations. It was so loud some nights that we couldn't sleep, and we were awakened every morning around 4AM by the noise. Staff was not responsive to complaints.

Room was in great condition! They are in the process of of renovation at this time so one of the elevators were still under construction. The place itself is in a prime spot and we loved having the beach on our \"backyard\", so to speak☺️The only thing we were disappointed about was that we did not get help with self parking area. We were given a piece of paper but it was confusing. We just felt dismissed when we entertained parking outside valet.

Welcoming staff from valet to checkin to delivery of our bags. When bags came he offered to tour the room with us. Told us valuable info. We loved the elevator system. (You’ll see!) Beach access was so easy and convenient.
Dukes and Hula Grill are terrific options for food. The club was wonderful for breakfast and the 4:30-6:30 appetizer/snacks

Great staff! Clean room, but it is dated. Water temp in shower was weird: super hot and then cooled down after a minute. While it doesn’t feel as updated as the Reef in the Beach, this Outrigger property has much more sandy beach and is located closer to Kapiolani Park.

Best hotel amenity: insulated bottles to refill with drinking water in lobby and other places around the hotel.

and city view all at different prices. Paid several hundred dollars more for ocean view. Our view was worse than the advertised pictures of the partial ocean view. The hotel has not responded to refund the difference.

Rooms were in dire need of an update. Our outlets didn't work in our bathroom, we had to use an extension cord from the main area, very inconvenient when you have more than one person needing to use an outlet to get ready. Shower had plenty of black mold growing in it and our bathroom sliding door would get stuck constantly and not close at all some days.

The loud live music the resort hosts and the crazy amount of yelling from partiers outside on the strip meant no falling asleep until around midnight when the music would finally subside. Construction noise would start promptly at 8am each morning as well. Not relaxing whatsoever.

Pool is very tiny, much tinier than the images on their website shows - it is about half the size of a typical residential pool at a house. Pool opened each day at 8am, and the line would form by 6:45am every morning by people wanting to get one of the very few pool chairs. Withing 60 seconds of the pool opening each morning, all pool chairs would be gone.

Beach is extremely crowded any day of the week - you will literally be chair to chair next to other groups on the beach. I have never been to such a crowded beach!

Parking is $60/day which we thought was insane.

The only thing this place has going for it is it's location - you can walk to anything on the Waikiki strip. This place reminded me of the Vegas Strip, and staying at a hotel on the strip. Never again!

Staff was great. Room 508 was subject to loud street noise, trash compactor operation, loud music and yelling from nearby lounge. Fire alarm at 2am Thursday kept guests up for several hours. Never notified that it was safe to go back to bed.
Instead of a relaxing vacation I felt tired when it was all over.

We stayed here in January and I have to say the customer service we received was probably some of the best I have ever experienced, and I travel A LOT. We wanted to upgrade our room, and the staff were fantastic as finding us an option at ocean front, while giving us a rate that we could still afford. And the upgrade was WORTH IT, I highly suggest ocean front. While there we had our baht tub clog up, and they were good to make sure it got taken care of. Our flight home also got cancelled, and it was during the PGA tour so all the rooms were practically full but they worked their magic and found us a room for a night so we didn't have to shuffle hotels or find altnerate options. They were very considerate of our circumstances and gave us a few vouchers. The initial room was had had a walk in closet, 2 double beds and a pull out couch. It had all the ammenities you could want in a room. The pool area is busy, I don't love that Duke's is RIGHT behind you, it is very loud when you area already on the main beach that is busy. But we still loved having access to the beach and usually sat in the shade on the lower patio which was nice. The wait staff at the pool are great, and the nightly music at Dukes barefoot bar was so convenient to have on site. The mall is also right across the street, so it is very close to all things Waikiki. We also loved Maui Brewing happy hour across the street. There is also an ABC and stores downstairs for quick grab items. Highly recommend!

Noisy. I swear you FELT every rev of every loud piece of junk (there were a lot of them) on the main street below all night from seven floors up. On top of that, the late night Jimmy Buffet knock-offs sounding like they were set up on your balcony/lanai. It was honestly louder in the room than the patio below. My guess is bad acoustics between the Outrigger and adjacent tower. Even the fan on the AC was noisy. We would set the room cold early on, then turn it off for the night so it would be quiet.

I paid for a queen bed partial ocean view. It turns out there are only 2 of these rooms per floor. One on each side of the elevator shafts and staircase.
Both with very marginal views and noisy. I tried to move back to a city view but I had purchased the room from expedia so no refund. Had to pay an extra $35 a night to get a king bed partial ocean view. never going back.

I've stayed at the Outrigger several times. The staff is very friendly. At the guest services (front desk), Ligaya helps with accommodations and is very attentive.
The waitresses at Duke's are very friendly. Especially Holly, who works in the pool area.
I would like to thank the waitresses from Hula Grill: Lynn, Enah, and Brooke for their attentive service.
Thanks also to the guys from the swimming pool: Oly, Piter and Benjamin. They were always cheerful and friendly. The house keeper was cleaned well and towels were changed daily. The hotel management was excellent. We felt like we were at home.
