The whole place is under construction/renovation. So there was a lot of construction noise early mornings and at night. Some places were boarded off.
Free re-usable water bottles and the beach bag were nice. I did not use the WiFi because i just don’t trust public WiFi anymore. Parking was 60 a night for valet. It added an extra 500 to our bill at end of trip, plus the tips provided to staff during drop off and retrievals. Hotel was nice otherwise. Elevators were quick. AC worked great. Nice ocean view. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The breakfast Buffett was the greatest i have ever had in a hotel. Tasted great and was so fresh. fruit was delicious.

We love the hotel. The location was absolutely perfect. Right in the center of Waikiki and easy to walk to the beach to restaurants to stores. The only thing is is that Orbitz did not indicate that the hotel was under construction and the club level rooms would have no access to the higher floors and breakfast and drinks and hors d’oeuvres. We found out when we got to the hotel after we’ve paid $500 a night and my sister paid $300 a night that is the only thing that happened on this trip but other than that I would totally go back to this hotel. It was perfect.

Hard to beat this location and we had great service! Loved Duke and the Waikiki views!
Only complaint would be very thin windows, so we could hear the street performers every night while trying to fall asleep and the hotel is under construction, so we woke up to the sound of power drills every morning.

The staff at Outrigger are awesome! They are super helpful, responsive, and friendly. The hotel is currently undergoing renovations, so it felt a bit dated in our floor and within the room. We didn’t have access to the gym due to construction, so that’s a bummer for us. It’s one of the things I always look forward to having on a trip. Overall, the hotel itself was incredibly convenient and centrally located to all highlights within Waikiki. We would definitely recommend this hotel and return again!

The hotel was under construction during our stay. There was constant noise from tools, hallways would be blocked off randomly. On the morning we were leaving we received a bill for an additional $1400 for “upgrades” we did not have. Once it was pointed out the charges were dropped. The beach is crowded, rooms are a normal hotel room. Everything is a money grab from tourists. After booking and paying for our trip we checked in and learned our fees didn’t cover the daily $50 hotel fee, which essentially was for us to use a pool (while on a beach front property so completely unnecessary) and get towels.

The hotel is in a great location but is a bit dated. The carpet was somewhat dirty. We paid more to have an oceanfront room but were located directly above the restaurant with loud live music and lots of loud partying. We were also awakened in the night by what sounded like 2 hours of dragging furniture across the room.
The room and the balcony were spacious with a great view of the beach.
The location is easy to miss on a busy crowded street with no circular drive to pull into. We enjoyed Waikiki but I’m not sure that I would stay here again.

Unfortunately the refurbishing of the property while staying there was not what we expected. The noise, dust and construction was less than desirable. When we entered our room upon check in, there was a ladder, vent cover off and hardware on dresser. Was moved to another floor and the construction noise was even worse. Although it only lasted till 3‐ 3;30, coming in from a long flight and time change, all I wanted was a two hour nap. Didn't happen. Early the next morning we were awaken by the fire alarm. After several announcements, it turned out to be a false alarm. Requested a ADA room, but due to construction all the ADA rooms were taken. None of the other rooms have grip bars. For seniors over 55, that is a must have. When you come in from the beach or pool and you have sun nlock on, when washing off, it becomes a slip hazard. Although the staff and location was ideal, I don't think we'll stay here again. There was no appeal to this dated establishment.

Bad experience.
Terrible noise from daily construction while we stayed.

The hotel management did not honor our request discount for inconvenience.

We suffered from terrible noise the last two days trying to relax in the room, and the staff's suggestion was to stay outside on the beach or by the pool. But it was very hot to stay there in the afternoon sun.

There was no warning about construction on site before we arrived, other than a message from the hotel than certain common areas will not be available. After this message I called the hotel and left messages to call back with request to communicate about the possible issues, but there was no response back.

Our stay was Not as expected due to not receiving a proper notice from the hotel about ongoing construction and not honoring a discount for the last 2 days when the noise was unbearable.

The hotel management seems to not care about their customers.

We paid the full price, but not received the expected venefit. Very disappointed.
Will not be returning.

The stay at the Outrigger was horrible. I will never stay at this hotel chain again. Staff was very rude, except for Holly at the pool and AJ at hula grill. No assistance with requests, ordered bell service to pick up our bags and they never showed, ordered a taxi to airport, the front desk never put the order in. Room was very old, the carpet was dirty, the bathtub was 1/2 the normal size of a traditional bathtub AND when taking a shower it felt as if you were going to fall through the floor. Water was dripping from bathroom ceiling onto a slippery tile that was very dangerous. The room smelt dingy. The pool is nothing like the pictures, very small. Duke’s food was horrible but Hula Grill food was great. Overall a horrible stay and very disappointed. I spoke to hotel manager and all I got was “I’m sorry”. No offer to compensate. I paid close to $750 for the night and honestly, it was worth $150.

The construction that was going on throughout the day was extremely loud and disruptive while trying to rest on vacation. We were not notified when we booked that there would be construction on the floors. We were notified just before vacation, but not in detail of what we could expect. The restaurants on property has a very poor selection of food for non- seafood eaters. The staff were always friendly. The pool attendance did not adhere to the posted rules of removing \"saved\" chair every few hours. Some pool loungers in more choice locations were saved with towels, but never occupied for several hours, if ever over the 4 days we used the pool area. The rooms are a bit dated but large and comfortable.

It wasn’t clear to us that most of the hotel was under construction when we booked. It just said that the fitness center was unavailable due to renovation.
We also expected to be able to use the self service laundry, and that was also unavailable. We were just below the renovations happening on rooms up above and the mode was deafening starting pretty early. We love this hotel and stay every time we come to Hawaii, but I do feel that there should be some informing of the hotel being mostly shutdown or closed off for renovations, in addition to the disruption of any peace. I understand it’s got to happen though.
We still had a wonderful time. Love this stretch of beach. The staff at the cabana stand on the beach are friendly and helpful. Our housekeeper Wendy was very kind and friendly. Valet guys have always been very great.

UNDER HEAVY RENOVATIONS THROUGH 2027!
I've stayed at outriggers in Waikiki many times and this stay was awful. They are undergoing HEAVY construction (no lobby, reduced amenities, elevators constantly down) with constant drilling, demolition, and pounding noise so you can't enjoy the premeses (that's all you hear if you are out by the pool or on the beachfront).

They said they had planned fire drills at noon (fine) which proceeded for an hour but are easy enough to avoid. Then at 2 AM THERE WAS A FIRE DRILL with voices over the intercom saying just a drill, but what are we supposed to do at 2:00 a.m. woken up suddenly and evacuated the hotel half dressed with no guidance from staff, we couldn't even find the stairs and ended up in the elevator to evacuate.

What's worse is when we complained about the 2:00 a.m. fire drill we were totally gaslit. First the staff denied it ever happened. next the staff said it was actually a real fire alarm because of \"humidity\". One of the staff members was even egregious enough to say that we must have dreamed it. I feltextremely offended. Me and my family saved up for many years for this trip and the outrigger more than ruined it.

Also, when checking out we discovered that our bill had items on it that we did not purchase including an internet fee (the internet is listed as part of the reason they charge a resort fee! Among other amenities that were not available due to renovations) ... But of course they still charge the resort fee.

Overall, a comfortable and clean stay. Staff was professional and very friendly. The rooms are dated and worn. Saw some paint chipped off doors and walls. Scuffs all around. The hotel was undergoing renovations so maybe they will address the wear and tear of the rooms at some point.

Saw some other complaints about the noise coming from Dukes, but it didn’t bother us and noise was over by the time we went to bed. Dukes sounded like a fun time!

Despite the wear and tear, my husband and I enjoyed our stay and took advantage of the amenities and location. We would definitely recommend!

We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Outrigger Waikiki beach Resort and it exceeded my expectations in every way. From the moment I arrived, the staff was warm, welcoming, and attentive, making check-in quick and seamless. You can truly tell they care about their guests’ experience.

The room was spotless, decorated, and comfortable. The bed felt like sleeping on a cloud, and all the amenities were thoughtfully provided—from quality toiletries to a well-stocked coffee station. I especially appreciated the quiet atmosphere, which made it easy to relax and unwind. Our room was an ocean view. Wonderful.

The location was perfect—convenient to nearby attractions, dining, and shopping, yet still peaceful enough to feel like a true getaway. Walked downstairs to the pool or the beach. The hotel itself was well-maintained, and every common area reflected a high standard of cleanliness and care.

What stood out the most was the exceptional customer service. Every staff member I encountered went above and beyond to ensure my stay was enjoyable, always greeting me with a smile and offering assistance when needed.

Arrived to discover the hotel was mid renovation, so ambiance wasn’t ideal. When I got to our rooms, I was genuinely shocked by how shabby, ugly, and rundown they were. Really disappointing. The wardrobe doors weren’t working, there were food stains on the sofas, and the whole room looked like it needed a good scrub. The bathrooms in particular were unpleasant and not very clean.

The staff were very understanding, and after switching to another room, I was still unhappy, so they helped me find alternative accommodation at another outrigger.

I cannot fault the staff at all, they were really helpful, and sorted out a transfer and early check in the next morning. But if you are looking for a beautiful beachfront hotel, I’d wait until the renovation is complete, as it is definitely not worth the price point at the moment.

Please be aware hotel is under major construction (which we found out on arrival). Rooms will be loud from 9am-4pm. Pool is open, gym is not available unless u go to another hotel. 2 of our hotel towels were not clean, (Looked like smeared blood stains). I requested a quiet room away from elevator but the lady placed our room right infront of it. Pool staff is very friendly, front desk staff mostly friendly. The property location is the best, next to the beach, have two restaurants, is in the front of International Marketplace and the front street pass the buses! About clean needed more with details, specially shower head, between tiles and the sink. The staff are very friendly and helpful! After check out (11 am), they hold our suitcases until 6 pm, that was great because our flight was at 10:20 pm.
If we will visit Honolulu again we will stay in this hotel! Mahalo! 🌺

ALL staff were amazing. The room was what I booked and expected. I did however upgrade to the club level. Upon arrival the hotel is under construction. Makeshift lobby area, particle board walkway no nice lobby area to sit while waiting or to have a drink. Construction noise and mess and boarded up areas all over. Weird, makeshift way to pool. The club as advertised is NOT what it was. No patio to go sit and have a drink and view the ocean - it was a makeshift little space that was not nice, could not sit outside. Food was the same every day for 8 days for breakfast and for evening snacks - no canapes changed out - so disappointing for our first Hawaii and our first Outrigger experience. No offer compensation for the construction just go ahead and pay normal rate and sorry for the inconvenience. This is not acceptable. So disappointing.

We had a better experience at the other restaurant upstairs. The location of the hotel is great- right in the beach and close to all sorts of stores. There’s also a coffee shop next door that opens early. Definitely recommend the hotel.
