The room updates were nice but the common areas and atrium are under construction. And the Farmer's Market is just a couple of tables set up in one the entrances of the hotel. James at the front desk was very helpful however Sarah of Suzanne was not at all and very sarcastic in her reply.

Every bit of my stay was superb. The rooms were beautiful, clean, efficient, with every amenity I could ask for - bottled water, tote bags, slippers, and especially a make-up mirror! The amazing views from morning to night knocked me out. Their staff answered questions, held bags, smiled, and never seemed rushed. What a perfect location by Duke's statue!

This was such a beautiful stay. The balcony views were amazing. All the staff were so kind specially the staff at the pool/bar area. They were so welcoming. The breakfast buffet was delicious !

The best part was having a coffee shop down stairs.

Definitely would stay here again.

Overall, the hotel was nice, clean, and had very friendly staff. They were celebrating their 50th year and once we got to our room, we saw that yes, this is an older hotel in need of upgrades. The doors were rotted and chipped at the bottom, furnishings scratched and in need of repair. The toilet was nice, but the bathtub is not secured to the floor, there is a gap, so while standing in the shower, you wobbled and felt the tub bottom shift under you, feeling unstable. The location and views were wonderful, but the hotel is so large and reconstruction is going on in some areas which made navigating the hotel difficult. We spent a great deal of time trying to locate the elevators!!

The property is convenient to Waikiki Beach and the International Market but is showing a bit of age compared to other hotels in the area. That said it is a very clean hotel. Beds could be more comfortable but that is personal preference. Pool is very small for the size of the hotel but poolside food/ bev/ service is excellent. You must try the Lava Sangria! Concierge at Blue Hawaiian was helpful in booking a last minute excursion due to a closure at Hanauma Bay and had great dinner recommendations. A very walkable area and Lyft/Uber access is quick despite heavier traffic. Tucker and Bevvy is a cute onsite cafe for breakfast with more affordable coffee selections but tends to operate a bit slower. Still worth it if the buffet is not for you or Eggs and Things is a popular local diner just a block or two away. Having beach towels and beach chairs available is convenient. We didn’t use many hotel amenities just because there’s so much to do and see in the area but many are available. Check in was quick and easy.

Great location. Everything convenient. Many restaurants nearby. They offer beach chairs and towels to take to the beach across the street. The hertz rental car is in the hotel. They offer free cultural classes such as ukulele and lei making. You just have to register. Bus tour for Polynesian Cultural Center picks up from this hotel. Many filtered water stations on each floor. The ABC store downstairs sells the 24 hr Holo bus card. They give you toothbrush, slippers and shampoo conditioner and body wash so you don’t have to pack unless you have sensitive skin. Yes, it is a little outdated and we did see some silverfish and 1 roach in our room but this is the island so we just overlooked it. The view from our balcony was amazing. The waterfall in the lobby was being repaired so I was bummed we didn’t get to see it but the falls at Waimea are the real deal. Mahalo Hawaii. I would stay here again.

The location was perfect, very close to the beach. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. There's lots of construction going on inside the resort so prepare for scaffolding everywhere. Also the pool is soooo small. Another con is there are no microwaves in your room, and the resort does not have room service, so weird. I gave 3 stars because the rooms are outdated. Definitely needs to be repainted or wallpapered. On a positive note, the beds and linens are super comfy.

Everything is very old and my bed room the bathroom the bath tub was bulging inside , when we showed was feeling not stable , and we saw some bugs crawling around in the room too. And I booked ocean front room and the are giving me ocean view room too

I really enjoyed my stay at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki. The location is perfect—just steps from the beach—and my room was clean, comfortable, and had a beautiful balcony view. The staff was friendly and everything felt easy and pleasant. I would definitely stay here again.

Our stay in this Hyatt was unfortunately disappointing for several reasons.
The first issue was that there was active construction taking place right beside the lobby. This was not disclosed before our arrival, and it significantly affected the first impression of the property. Seeing construction equipment and barriers upon entering the hotel took away from the resort atmosphere we were expecting.
The second issue was the inconsistency in customer service. During check-in, we noticed another guest being provided with detailed information about hotel amenities, activities, schedules, and services by a staff member at the next counter. In contrast, our check-in was very brief, and we were simply handed our room keys with little information about the property. When the other guest mentioned they were celebrating a special occasion, they were offered a room upgrade. We were also celebrating a birthday, but when we mentioned it, we were told the hotel did not do anything special and that we could purchase food or services if we wished to celebrate. The difference in treatment was difficult to ignore.
The room itself also fell short of expectations. The carpet felt sticky and unclean, and several bathroom toiletries were either missing or insufficient. When we requested additional items, they were eventually delivered but left outside our room door rather than being placed inside.

I stayed in an Oceanfront room and was disappointed by the room condition. The curtains had visible stains, the walls showed damage and wear, and the overall room felt poorly maintained. I understand the property is older, but the condition did not meet my expectations for this room category or price point.Even if the location is excellent, room condition has a big impact on the overall experience.

* Resort fees, parking, and breakfast can add significantly to the total cost.

This hotel is very old. Besides paying for absolutely everything, they surprise you with extra charges. For example, they charged me $80 a day for parking, which is more expensive than renting a car. They charged $65 per person per extra day because the hotel is a... When I made the reservation, breakfast was included, but then they charged me $48 per person. And the worst part is that they don't have room service. In the five days I was there, they never changed my bed sheets. The furniture in the room was very old and dilapidated. I will never recommend this hotel to anyone, much less the service from the staff.

Our stay at the Hyatt was very good. First, the location is amazing! Walking distance to everything. The room was clean and well maintained and was more spacious than expected. The bathroom was a little cramped but was still nice for the age of the hotel. The amenities were good, although expensive resort fees, with chairs and towels available to use at the beach across the street. Overall, we were very happy with our stay and would return in the future.

Plan for resort fees at the end of your stay. Parking is not included with the stay. Yes you have a place to park but you are charged when you check out. Not a bad place to stay. Make sure to budget in the $800 (give or take, based on a 7 night stay).

The hotel’s location is its biggest strength — very convenient and well-situated. The room was clean, though nothing exceptional.

However, the property is quite old and is in need of proper maintenance throughout. The lighting in the rooms was particularly poor — dim and inadequate for comfortable use.

Overall, a decent option if location is your priority, but the management needs to invest in upkeep and room improvements.

This property location is amazing. Right across the street from the beach and close to dining and shopping. I got a city view room, which didn't have much of any view. Except of the construction of a building behind us, we were put on the 5th floor. The patio had planters with dead flowers. The room was spacious but had lost of wear and tear. Scuffs on the walls and the furniture was chipped and just dated. The TV was huge and the bathroom area was nice and the shower had great pressure with different shower head options. We ate at the swim bar for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and the food was good for all. I got coffee from Kai coffee every morning and the coffee cake is yummy. I had booked this trip in January and there was no notification about construction going on at the hotel. The giant waterfall wasn't in service and the noise at times was a bit frustrating. When you go away on vacation you want some quiet time and not have to navigate construction. Overall though, the property is nice and great staff.

Really outdated hotel. Room 3951 is just awful. Carpet is tearing, door trims are chipped, wallpaper is ripped and falling, bathroom tub is rusty. I did not feel clean. My partner and I were severely disappointed. The hotel needs a major renovation. I personally, will not be a repeat customer of Hyatt in Waikiki.

This review is more about the hotel and flight than Expedia. Expedia by far had the best pricing. The hotel site was under construction which was an eyesore at best. The wallpaper was falling apart throughout most hallways and rooms. We had several issues with rooms including bugs in one room and damaged/broken bathtub in another room. Flight was cancelled causing a major disruption and extending our stay another day. Dealing with Expedia was easy and again, best priced. It is definitely noisier than expected. We were initially on 17th floor and could still easily hear street noise. On the 34th floor, the noise was almost unnoticeable. Hotel is outdated and that includes thickness of the sliding glass door.

The good: Great location with just a walk across the street to the beach (yes they supply the chairs). 5 - 20 min walks to shopping (Target to H&M to Fendi) The staff is super friendly.
The bad: unfortunately, the hotel is being renovated but they keep the renovations neat and out of the guests way and it didn't effect the pool, restaurants or stores.
The really bad: if you want quiet get a high room it's super noisy some nights. Also we had issues with the hot water, not getting hot for 10minutes or the temperature fluctuating while showering.

Hotel was under construction and we were not informed of this, dust and noise in the hotel. room was not clean, holes in the wall, dirty doors and walls, our next door neighbor was smoking weed on anon smoking floor and we complained several times, all together I was not happy about the hotel. Altogether not very happy with this hotel. I had higher expectation from Hyatt, I stayed at Maui and it was a beautiful property.

Awesome 10 days at the Hyatt! Staff were pleasant and helpful to get us into our room, nice ocean view high floor. Room was tidy minus the older fact of the property but still maintained very well. Fact the lifts are nightmare cause 40 floors, tons of guests, might take awhile but still awesome amenities on sight and food options. Recommend trying Shor breakfast buffet was excellent and friendly staff.

Not only is this hotel across the street from the beach, everything about it was great! The staff is very welcoming and helpful. We arrived earlier than check in and thankfully it was possible to check in earlier. They have many great amenities! We were able to check beach chairs out as well as towels at no extra cost which was super convenient when going to the beach. They also provided reusable water bottles which can be refilled throughout the hotel, again, at no cost. They are currently under construction as it seems they are making renovations but I’m sure they have more great things planned. Definitely would return!!

Pros: The hotel is in a great location with beautiful views and the staff were very friendly. Bathrooms were great with heated toilet seats, and the shower pressure was perfect. The shampoo/conditioner in the room was from their spa so it was really amazing quality.

Cons: Our room was nice but the furniture was a bit old and had lots of superficial damage to it. The chase lounger had stains on the cushions and pillows that looked a little questionable.

Unfortunately they were doing a lot of construction/painting throughout the hotel that we did not know about prior to our stay. This did take away from the “luxury” feel we expected.

The biggest con in my opinion is the parking fee. As a guest who is already paying a high amount for the room, adding $65 a night for parking was kinda of ridiculous. Between that and the resort fee we were charged an additional $120 a night.

Overall, would I stay here again? Yes, the location and view from our room was amazing but I wish they would include parking in your stay or at least lower the fee.

This hotel is very conveniently located across the street from the beach and the view from the ocean front room is fantastic. Chairs and towels are readily available to bring to the beach, which is included in the resort fee. Staff is helpful and polite. However, this is not a luxury property. The rooms are pretty basic with limited storage so pack light. There is only a buffet restaurant, for dinner which is very limited and the beach cafe which is outside dining. The beach cafe is a convenient and casual option and the food was good. One other note, the layout is confusing and you need to use escalators plus the elevator to get to your room. So, if you forgot something it's a hassle to go back to the room. Overall, it is pleasant place to stay. It's everything you need, as long as you are not expecting a 5-star experience.
