My stay at Alohilani was ok. There are some clear pros and cons. Pros first, the location and view were excellent. Concierge and valet are great, very prompt and helpful. The food and service at Swell was enjoyable also. Cons, the halls smell strongly of mildew. The pool area leaves a lot to be desired; you must be in the pool to see the view. The room is cramped with very little counter space. The bathroom has a strange setup, shower in the corner with a small wall and no shower curtain. Water gets all over the floor when showering. The showerhead was dirty and the seat was in terrible shape. The no smoking policy is over the top, we were told we could not even light birthday candles as it may set off the sensors. The price of daily valet along with all the taxes and fees ended up being nearly $500 additional. I would not stay here again, the price does not match the experience.

The property was very clean and perfectly located in the center of everything. There was a helpful ABC store in the lobby of the hotel. It was an easy walk to many eateries and right across from the beach. I would absolutely stay here again.

Rooms were very clean and the oceanfront room was amazing. I would have like for the bathroom to be a little bigger and the toilet not be 1 inch from door. One other thing, there were no beach chairs at the beach for guest. We had to walk down to the street to store that offered 3 items daily for free that you could rent.

Location was amazing, across the street from Waikiki beach. We had a partial ocean view which faced west so the views from the room, especially in the evening, were great. I can't speak for the Seascape tower as we were placed in the Beachside tower but I wouldn't stay on that side of the resort again if I had a choice. The room we stayed in was dated yet partially renovated. Some newer fixtures and furnishings however the hinges on all of the doors were rusted, shower fixtures had really bad limescale buildup, and the wallpaper seemed like it was lifting at the seams. A little disappointing for the price point but it has an ABC store connected to it so you don't have to leave the building for last minute needs, which was really convenient. Housekeeping staff was super friendly and accommodating. 3.5/5

Loved the outdoor pool bar they have, super friendly and helpful bartenders/staff all around. We had the King Oceanfront room and the view was unmatched.

The only thing I will say is they don't line their trash bins with a bag so everyones garbage will touch the same bin, and they definitely don't clean out the bin after every stay. Their self parking is also limited depending on the time to go back to the hotel (you may need to get valet on certain days).

Otherwise, the location is amazing, right in front of Waikiki beach. They have a gym, spa, and IV drip as well inside the hotel which we made use of, along with several restaurants as well. I would stay at this hotel again!

Enjoy the stay at the hotel. Staff was helpful and considerate to my needs cost were within reason and I would stay there again. If the time were to arise, sunsets were gorgeous from the hotel balcony extracurricular activities were amazing restaurant and food cost were within the cost that I had expected. I would definitely recommend this hotel to other others.

There were two occasions when housekeeping missed servicing my room. However, once I brought it to the staff’s attention, they responded promptly and ensured my room was cleaned consistently for the remainder of my stay.

Aside from that, I had a very pleasant and enjoyable experience. The Swell Pool was fantastic, and the hotel’s location was excellent—just steps from the beach and within walking distance of many great dining options and food trucks. The staff were attentive and helpful, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming and relaxing.

I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others visiting the area.

Great location. We had an ocean front room looking onto the beach. The bed was nice and comfortable (soft). The room was a good size with lots of storage. The street was a bit noisy at night. The bathroom is tiny. The drinking glasses in the room were never replaced in the 10 days we were there. The cups provided with the coffee machine were paper cups and were also rarely replaced. We asked for a couple of wine glasses at the front desk on day 2 and these were never cleared from the room. For what we paid for the room we expected more.

I loved the location of the hotel—being just one block from the beach was incredibly convenient! Our room was also nice and clean. I also appreciated having a car rental location right inside the hotel, especially since they opened early at 6:30 AM.

However, we ran into a few issues during our stay. The refrigerator in our room was freezing everything, turning all of our food into ice. The bathroom was a bit too small, and the elevators were frustrating as they seemed to stop at every single floor.

Additionally, the pool area needs more seating. We went down twice and couldn't find a place to sit; many chairs were empty but \"reserved\" with unattended towels. Lastly, we were disappointed that traditional flower leis were not provided upon arrival.

The balcony was the best 10/10 -Diamond Head and Ocean View!

If you’re looking for an ideal location across from the beach and on the main Waikiki strip Alohilani is great for that. If you see 5 star hotel and are expecting a 5 star experience with nice rooms and luxury amenities you will not find that here. The rooms are small and not well maintained. The knobs to the lights were extremely dirty to the point where I didn’t even want to touch them. The area by the backdoor, the floors, the ceilings, everything had a considerable amount of dirt/dust indicating the staff is not deep cleaning these rooms. The singular pool that exists is extremely crowded at all times and has one corner overlooking the ocean otherwise you’re looking at streets and industrial style buildings/construction. When we arrived, I’d also like to note check in took 45 mins - 1 hour due to the long line and only 2 workers at the front. Each person took at least 15-20 mins to check in which is unheard of at most hotels/resorts especially one claiming to be 5 star. I picked this place looking for a luxury vibe also close to the beach and main Waikiki nightlife but I would not stay here again. I value cleanliness and a property with luxury amenities considering the steep daily resort fee. On the plus side the view from our room was beautiful and the shops and dining close to the resort are very convenient.

I like that the ocean view was directly across the street from our room. I didn’t like the staff coming in my room stealing my coins off the dresser while I was out shopping. I also didn’t like the loud non stop yelling and car burnouts and motorcycles revving their engines till 3am. If you want a quit place to relax don’t stay here!!

For the price paid for the room and its amenities, it was satisfactory. When we arrived, we were allowed to check in with minimal problems. Staff was helpful and was aware of our situation when we arrived due to our late flight arrival. The area around the pool was adequate and we had a good view of the beach from our hotel room.

Due to some confusion for our departure flight, we had to reserve a room for another day. I wish Expedia would have caught that error prior to our arrival so that an additional room charge would not have been incurred.

The Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach staff and service was top notch. It’s a stone throw from the beach and also provides free beach chairs and umbrella rentals via a third party a few blocks away from the hotel. The only thing the room could use is a microwave. Also be aware that parking at the hotel garage is on the expensive side at $50/day. A 10-day stay cost $500 in parking alone.

Many of the staff members we encountered were cheerful and polite and made us feel very welcome at the resort.
We greatly enjoyed meeting our travel friends in the spacious lobby, especially spending time by the two-story aquarium. The presentation about the fish and their history was a bonus.
The fitness center and locker room were fully equipped and a great place to exercise and clean up.
One evening, we were disappointed by a lack of hot water in our bathroom.
We were unaware of any plumbing issues and felt that a notice for the floors affected should have been issued. Fortunately, the hot water was restored within a couple of hours. Our complaint was handled by a front desk employee, who made it possible for us to shower in an unused hotel room.
All in all, we had a memorable, pleasant stay that embodied the aloha spirit.

Stayed 6 nights following a cruise and it was an amazing location. We had a beachfront room that overlooked Waikiki beach and we sat on the balcony watching the sunset each night. We hired a car directly from the hotel so that was convenient. The room was large and clean. Close to buses to the Ala Moana shopping centre. Walking distance to Dukes bar, Cheescake Factory etc. We had no issues at all and would recommend to anyone wanting to stay in Waikiki on the beach.

We were disappointed in our room - the ocean view was only if you were on the balcony, otherwise it was a city view. The room itself had seen better days. We were in the alohilani tower - tried to go to the pool on 5 but access was closed and we were directed to the swell tower for access. Too much trouble for us. There was no lobby bar - maybe because Morimoto was closed for repairs, and the Momosan restaurant was outside. The drive up appeal was lovely. The pool was busy - the music was pumping. Not our jam but seemed popular. We did enjoy the complimentary beach gear provided by Beach Candy a couple blocks away and the beach itself was good. I guess $500 a night doesn’t buy what we were expecting. Kudos to the young employee who encountered us getting off the elevator and showed us our room and explained the amenities - he was the best part of our stay!

The staff here are great. The carpets need to cleaned. If you walk around your room with bare feet they will be dirty. Also there was mould growing in some of hallways. We stayed in a room on the 5th floor. It looks great but I would not stay here again. They also need to do something about the noise from the street. We were woken up between 4-5am every morning with trucks reversing and collecting rubbish.

First time staying here and can I just say how much I loved it! Came for my birthday trip with my sister & mom, we all had the best time. Have to give a shoutout to Ben who was the best floor attendant ever! He was so kind and even wrote out stuff for my family and I to do! Will definitely be back! 10/10
