Ocean view room has a great view of the ocean from the side. Street can get noisy and our room can hear it. Great location and amenities. I would suggest they replace the carpets.

Room had amazing view and I chose a room with a partial view. The beds are very comfy and cozy. Although our T.V. Was glitchy and did not work most of the time. They had free water stations in the lobby, which was really great instead of charging you bottled water each day. The property right by the beach close to the market downtown and plenty of restaurants around to walk to. They have an excellent coffee shop right next to the hotel. That makes really great food. I suggest trying to have banana bread. It was amazing! The hotel property was very beautiful and quiet.

The staff was awesome - front desk, valet, housekeeping, Swell bar & pool staff & DJ!

The room was clean for the most part, with the exception of the two molded dresser drawers that were closest to the fridge. If we were staying multiple nights, I would have requested to change rooms because we typically unpack our luggage and use the drawers. But because of our quick stay we were ok it.

The view of the ocean & diamond head was also amazing!

The food, drinks & festive music at the pool side was extra fun! Cold li hing mui pineapple chunks to snack on was a perfect treat! Love the vibe at Swell!

Mahalo nui for taking such good care of kanaka!

Hotel staff were very nice and helpful. Had a room with 2 queen beds and a beautiful partial ocean view. One thing I wish the room had was at least a small table especially when trying to eat. Didn’t utilize all the amenities but the pool was nice with good sunset views. Loved how close it was the the beach and walkable to all the shops.

The ocean and mountains were visible from the room. The lanai was wonderful to have. Note: the resort is older and small details reveal the age, like popcorn ceilings and maybe peeling veneer on random furniture.

Staff and charm and history outweigh these asthetic concerns. It is a beautiful, welcoming resort!

We chose a modest room, our companions upgraded and were very pleased we were staying on our way to another island. Very clean. Staff was indifferent, poor job at the entrance, virtually no bar, breakfast was available by the pool at 7 in the rain without another soul present. The restaurant was in an awkward spot and good (B) but was supposed to be Japanese restaurant and was not. Not a great experience for the price, but the whole area is really expensive.

I regret not getting ocean view. They put me on the 3rd floor and the view was a big tree in the way to at least view a bit of the ocean. Oh well, it’s not the trees fault lol. The hotel is clean and the pool is excellent. The bathroom in my room was a bit small. The bathrooms do not have ventilation so that’s not good. The public restroom near the lobby needs attention. I went there twice on different days and there wasn’t toilet seat covers. Boooo!! Other than that we enjoyed our stay and we already miss Hawaii!! Thank you for our stay.

Hi we book ocean view but we get a room in the 5th floor near the pool deck and was very noisy because of the music and people passing true that area , also we never get pools chairs because they are always reserved or full capacity, the location of the resort was great and the staff very friendly and helpful.

Beautiful resort downstairs in the lobby and pool area Rooms were very basic. Didn’t receive service for 3 days. Called multiple times from the room phone but no one answered. Finally got someone on the phone on the third day to request fresh towels and service and all I got was an apology. Had the ocean view which was nice and the resort is in a great location. I don’t know if I would return on my next Hawai’i trip in July.

Our room was in a great spot, however the check in staff forgot to mention to me about the noise from the pool area. Not an overall issue but would have been good to know if its stated or identified before booking or at the counter.
Some comments below:
1. We noticed other guests checking in at the hotel were being greeted leis. We got nothing. Disappointed especially when we had booked for 8 nights.
2. Food- hotel food selection at the Swell bar is terrible. It needs to be updated. Also, no mention at the hotel check in about the longboard club and how it works etc. disappointed in how the hotel is rating itself but food/restaurant could do way better.
3. We had a terrible experience whereby a couple opposite our room on the 2nd night ended up arguing at 3am, screaming etc. hotel security was quick to respond and diffuse the situation. I would also
Commend on the reception lady who made an extra effort to change our room for comfort. We kindly declined the offer since the other room looked a bit worn out.
4. The room housekeeping lady was exceptionally great. She was the highlight of our stay. Very kind person and super friendly. Hotel is lucky to have staff like her.
Overall, happy. Would I stay here again? Maybe not. I pay for hotels so that I can enjoy dinner in my room etc and this hotel had one of the worst food selection therefore we had to dine out daily.

Were told we get called when the room was ready and never called. They tried to overcharge us for valet. We used 1 night they tried to charge for our entire stay. Our room was always the last room on the hallway cleaned done around 1:00. The pillows are trash.

Rooms were good, although they put us on two different floors. Also would have been nice to have food and drink service near the lobby area. Having to go to the 5th floor by the pool in the wind and rain wasn’t ideal, and we found ourselves in the lovely lobby area just sitting there waiting for the rain to lighten up.

This place was a joke. I’ve seen motel eights with better rooms. Description says Access to beach… it’s two blocks away from the beach for the price they charge. This is no type of Place. That should be charging that much. Although they did justified at the end. I was not happy with my stay.

Overall a lovely experience. It would be a bit more helpful is the resort fee was discussed online before arrival. I think working out some kinks on the ocean facing side..one night woke up in the night by housekeeping delivering towels to the wrong room, another night woke up around 11am with alarms (I think a fire alarm was pulled-but unsure). Wonderful location, loved the restaurants on the first floor.

Ancient hotel, built in the 1960. Everything is old and drab. Smells like mold. Bathroom is tiny and hasn’t been updated in forever. We left the room at 2:30. Housekeeping was next door, I told him to clean our room. Instead of doing that he put a note on my door that he stooped by!!! Complete lazy fraudulent person. The hotel is huge the there is no options for a normal breakfast, either outside cafe with very limited breakfast, “club” or $100 for breakfast and light dinner combined! Who needs light dinner waste of money. What about normal buffet breakfast for everyone!! Complete scam, do not stay here. The entire hotel is so dilapidated, carpets are threadbare

I got this room for a family of 5. My husband and I with my 3 kids (12, 14 and 15 year olds) though Expedia and when I arrived I was forced to get another room even though Expedia (and the receptionist said there was an option of a hideaway bed). Overall very unhappy I had to have my teenage kids in another room that wasn’t connected by a door, rather the next door over. I explained to the receptionist they’re underage, she asked a manager for approval and had to spend and extra $1800. This should have been corrected or at minimum given me a discounted rate or not charged a resort fee for forcing me to pay for another room.

The staff was great. The hotel is excellent. The most important thing is that the beach is the best for kids- wall built , no waves. We’ve come here the 5th time and we chose this hotel for the absolute perfect location. The surf rental is 3 minutes away. Communication was also great- anything we needed, we would text and get a response and solution within seconds.

We had a wonderful stay at Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach! The hotel is absolutely beautiful, modern, and very clean. From the moment you walk in, you can feel the relaxing island vibe. The rooms were spotless and comfortable, and the overall property is very well maintained. Customer service was great! We had an issue with our shower handle falling off and they immediately fixed it. Housekeeping was also fantastic, the minute you left the room they cleaned it.

The location is perfect — right in Waikiki and close to everything! The beach, restaurants, shopping, and attractions are all within easy walking distance, which made our stay so convenient and enjoyable.

I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Waikiki! 🌺

I was in awe the moment that we got there. The location was perfect and the amenities were great. The hotel room itself was clean and had a great view. But what really stood out was the staff. They were accommodating when we arrived early and they were able to get us a room quickly. They also checked in with out throughout our stay to see how we were doing or to keep us updated with events happening in the hotel. Would definitely come back here!

From the moment we arrived at check in the lady was extremely rude and unfriendly. We had a late flight in and wanted to order room service which ends at 10pm I’ve never been to a hotel who doesn’t offer room service until at least midnight? They say they’re a 4+ star hotel which they’re not. The room is made to look much more luxe online than it actually is. The bathrooms have no privacy except for the smallest area where the toilet and shower is, it’s so small you can barely move. The sink is outside by the entrance with minimal counter space. The only good thing at this hotel was the housekeeping they were amazing and location. Other than that I would never stay here again, it’s not as it seems. Even during check out I wanted to pay my daily hotel fees in cash and they said they already charged my card which I said why would you do that if my card was used for a deposit, then I said why don’t you refund my card and I’ll pay cash since I didn’t authorize this payment and she was again rude and said it would take over a week to get a refund it’s too much work to process a refund and it’s easier to keep as is. I’ve never had an experience like this at a hotel and I travel often.

Everyone was so nice and helpful! The room was clean and housekeeping staff were amazing! Not to mention the perks if the beach being eight across the street with stores, restaurants, and rentals nearby. The only downside during our stay was the water had to be shut off for a good portion of the day which made it stressful as that day we were needing to get ready for a wedding. Aside from this, the stay was wonderful!

Second time staying here. Check in process was very slow both times. Carpets in hallways are horrendous! Quite outdated so a little disappointing for the price you pay. Pretty typical for any hotel in Waikīkī from what i hear. Our housekeeping did an excellent job!

I booked this hotel because of its convenient location on the Waikiki strip. Unfortunately, the room felt old and outdated. The shower never had hot water and made a very loud, obnoxious noise whenever it was turned on. There is also a $50 resort fee, yet when I attempted to use the pool, it was closed for cleaning.

On a positive note, housekeeping did a good job and the staff was friendly. Aside from that, there isn’t much this property offers. I would not recommend staying here.

Alohilani Resort was so beautiful and literally across the street from Waikiki beach and all of the shopping and food places. U could literally walk everywhere. U don’t need a car rental as the buses can pick u up and go anywhere on the island. Food, beach and shopping are all just minutes away by foot.
