Central location walking distance to many shops and restaurants. One block to the beach.

Don’t let them put you in the 3rd floor. The restaurant and staff are super loud, even late at night. Otherwise the hotel is a perfect location, the laundry room is awesome and the air conditioning is great!

If I could give QK 6 stars I would. One of the og hotels in waikiki but they did an exceptional job renovating. Lots of amenities making the resort fee worth it in this case. Free soft drink at check in. Free adorable reusable water bottle. Free views of diamond head from many rooms. Free use of beach chair and towel. Very short walk to the beach. Take in a concert at the shell while you’re here. It’s a 5 minute walk from here. I highly recommend QK!

The location is excellent, with plenty of shops nearby, which made getting around very convenient. The ocean view was a wonderful bonus and really made the stay feel special. Overall, everything was great, and I would definitely recommend it.

The room was much smaller than anticipated and was outdated with old plumbing and no soundproofing from outside noises. We had a plumbing issue but the staff was very helpful and moved us to a better room. Staff is A+, building is mid. FREE PARKING IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE. Expect to walk a half mile or pay $60+ per night for valet.

This property met and exceeded ALL expectations. We had a great time, the beds were comfortable, the onsite restaurant was good, pool was a little on the cooler side in February but managable, great pool deck and view of Diamon Head. Close to everything and the beach. There are some hostels nearby and they can get a little rowdy until about 11pm but we turned on our white noise machine and slept like babies. Will definitelt stay again!

We had an amazing stay at the Queen Kapiolani Hotel! The location is unbeatable — just steps from Waikiki Beach and right across from the park with incredible views of Diamond Head. The room was clean, modern, and very comfortable, and the housekeeping staff kept everything spotless throughout our stay.

The staff really stood out — everyone was friendly, welcoming, and happy to offer recommendations for food and activities. The pool deck and on-site restaurant were great spots to relax after a day exploring.

Overall, it was the perfect mix of convenience, comfort, and island vibes. We would absolutely stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Honolulu!

First room wasn’t sanitary to my standards/dusty.
I was also accused of smoking because. I left my vape in my room, I went to the want front desk, they tried to make excuses like the fire alarm smelled smoke, and they put the alarm in there after I was in my room, which was a lie, and also said they smell smoke.

Positives- clean room, nice view of Diamondhead, great location, restaurant & coffee shop were nice, decent value for Oahu.

Negatives- while view was great you could easily see into everyone’s room on the other side, valet parking was a bit pricey at over $60/day but I believe that is relatively standard for Waikiki.

We are extremely disappointed and frustrated with our stay.

From the very first day we arrived, we informed the front desk that we did not receive the ocean view room we had originally booked and paid extra for. The view was clearly obstructed by a building. The gentleman at the front desk even acknowledged this and admitted that the view was obstructed and not what we had requested. However, he told us there was nothing he could do. This is completely unacceptable.

We stayed for three weeks and specifically paid a premium for an ocean view room. The so-called ocean view was heavily blocked, making the upgrade pointless. If a view is obstructed, it should not be sold as an ocean view at a higher price.

To make matters worse, our room was located directly above the garbage disposal area. Every morning at 6:15 a.m., the garbage truck would arrive and wake us up. The noise was extremely loud, and there was also a strong unpleasant smell. This happened daily during our entire three-week stay. Had we been placed on a higher floor as originally booked, we would not have had this issue.

We came here to relax. Instead, we were woken up every morning and forced to deal with noise and odors. Despite raising our concerns immediately upon arrival, nothing was done. We were not offered a room change, nor any compensation.

For the price we were charged, this experience was far below expectations. Considering the premium rate and the length of our stay, this is not even worth one star.

No parking, but I believe that is a Waikiki issue. The wanted us to pay $60/night for valet services. Room was okay. Bed was comfortable, but we noticed a lingering smell majority of our stay… almost like old water/water mold. Staff was okay.

I’m going to rate this place 3 stars due to the fact that, the restaurant staff were really rude and not friendly didn't matter what time or day we tried. Always rude!
We work hard to go on vacation and we pick a place to stay and if you don’t like people, being friendly or smiling don’t work at an establishment like this. You people contaminate the whole vibe. Hire some happy friendly girls.
Rest of the staff was great,clean rooms.

Things to note: rooms have kettles but not coffee makers or any complimentary tea or coffee. No pad of paper and pen. Only enough large bath towels to accommodate 1 per person, although you could use a pool towel if you needed extra.
I would stay here again.

Went to visit Hawaii, January 2026. This was my second stay at this hotel and just as my first experience, it was great! This hotel has fresh Hawaiian vibes, bright yet not overwhelming colors. Clean hotel, clean rooms & the scent throughout the hotel reminds me of Hawaiian Tropical screen lotion! The beach is just a short 2 min walk. There are plenty of stores and restaurants to choose from. Also, what I love most about this hotel is the location. It’s tucked away at the end corner & there’s a huge parking lot across the street. Having the parking lot there helps save money. You pay as needed.

Bed was a bit hard. Nice being at the end of hotel row on Waikiki. Less crowds not noisy at all, except for some drunks yelling over in the park.

The Queen Kapiolani was a wonderful place to stay, with fun and ever-helpful staff, especially front desk and housekeeping. Terrific unobstructed views of Diamond Head across the park, and of the ocean a block away. We loved our little balcony and used it often.
Lobby coffee shop is on point; the Deck restaurant/bar has the view but we found it otherwise unremarkable.
There can be an unexpected amount of urban noise from time to time.
Parking is expensive but Uber/Lyft was easy to use here. Neighboring hotel has a car rental desk for a longer day drive.
All in all, good value, comfy room, nice shower with eco-friendly amenities, awesome location and terrific ambience.

The location is the only redeeming quality of this hotel. It’s close to the zoo and the beach and offers a great view. Unfortunately, that’s where the positives end.

The room was very disappointing. The king bed was completely lopsided and extremely uncomfortable. I brought this to the attention of the front desk, but the staff member simply looked at me and took no action whatsoever.

The overall energy among most of the staff felt flat and disengaged. This was especially noticeable at the coffee bar, where my coffee was barely warm and the barista seemed uninterested when I mentioned it.

Later, when I went to the restaurant for dinner, I was told I needed a reservation for one person—even though the restaurant was half empty. It felt unnecessarily rigid and unwelcoming.

I will not stay here again or recommend this hotel, especially when there are plenty of other first-class hotels that actually deliver first-class service.

The location was most important to me & this location has saved me so much time driving to and from UH & my daughter’s house! Also, I’m kind of pickY & this hotel is absolutely beautiful & perfect!

Rates - really fair, common areas - lots of beautifully furnished spaces, gorgeous pool level open air restaurant, pool - gorgeous & has comfortable high end cushioned loungers, staff - so accommodating & lovely, rooms - beautiful! Highly recommend the Diamond Head view!

We had severeal unexpected, hidden fees that came up and almost doubled the total cost of our stay. For example, this hotel requires a $50 per day hotel resort fee be paid for each day of the stay. In addition, the valet fee is $60 per day and there are no other options for parking nearby besides a metered lot that only takes 2-3 hours of money at a time. Lastly, we had some time before our checkout and asked if they were able to watch our luggage in the meantime, and they even charge $2 per suitcase for that. Just a lot of fees to take advantage of travelers who come a long way with limited or no other options. We had booked the room for 4 adults to stay in but our first night we only had 2 towels, and most nights for the rest of our stay we were not given towels and wash cloths for 4 people, leaving one person without clean towels. Lastly, about an hour before we checked out we had a \"maintenance man\" walk into our room while multiple adults were in various states of undress and verbally/loudly telling them not to. When we brought up the concern to the front desk they did not seem to care. If that was necessary for him to enter our room he could have waited 60 minutes for us to vacate the room or the hotel could have communicated and gotten confirmation that we knew someone would be entering our room. Staying here just added more stress and financial strain than was ever necessary.

We loved this hotel!!!! We are locals who did a stay cay. I would have given it a 5/5 but the water pressure was bad. For the price you can't beat it! We had a premier ocean view room. Yes, it's a tad small but this is an older property so that is to be expected. The customer service was excellent!

Upon check-in, the room was visibly unclean with hair in the bed linens, on the couch, and in the bathroom sink. We did not stay in the room and secured accommodations elsewhere immediately. This was a failure to provide a habitable room at check-in. Since I booked through Expedia, I was unable to secure an immediate refund.

Room was dirty, extremely loud we experienced 2 weddings/receptions in our 1 week stay that lasted until 12am. Also for 4 days straight they were testing their fire alarm system that consisted of random men coming into our room at 8 am AND a speaker that would randomly go off like a walky talky at all random times. Staff was not warm or inviting felt like inconvenience if I asked anything.

The whole experience was phenomenal! The desk staff greeted us and welcomed us in an excellent customer service demeanor, and professionalism! Oh our room was breathtaking. It was clean and worked every penny that we paid. I was overwhelmed and it was my birthday so it was an especially celebratory and applicable for the occasion I will definitely be back. This hotel is a dump. I paid for an ocean view room and got a view of Diamond Head. The hotel made no adjustment in the cost. They said it was because this reservation was through a third party, Expedia. Will not recommend this place to anyone.

Well, when you pay premium price for ocean view ... 1. You do not expect partial view. 2. You do not expect to have your bed with the elevator shaft behind the wall. It was 24 hours of elevator nose. Why did the hotel not mention this upon booking. It was more interested in selling ocean view. Having said that, the staff were super in all aspects of customer service.

Great hotel, awesome location. The structure is a bit on the older side, not very sound proof, but it has its own charm. The hotel's restaurant requires reservations, did not eat there, but there are plenty of options on the street. The gym and swimming pool is a bit small for the hotel of this size, but the ocean is couple minutes away. The express bus to the airport stop is RIGHT in front of the hotel - the Zoo parking. Very nice friendly staff! The baggage storage is 2 dollars a piece. Wonderful view from the \"ocean view\" studio! Great view from the \"City view\" room. Great view of the Diamond Head from the pool/restaurant area. I would give solid 4.5 stars, but can't do fractions on review.
