Typical Honolulu Hotel. Basic accomodation - ok view over the pool. They don’t have any glasses for you to drink from in the hotel - only plastic cups. Very strange. Resort fee is a rip off. Didn't use the amenities but still had to pay the fee. Nice entertainment in the evenings. Great location.

The location was convenient. The property itself was dated. One thing that set me off initially is that when checking in, it was announced that we booked a non renovated room. No King bed to have a upgrated room. And with a fee. The room itself was small with a dated bathroom. The bathroom had old rust stains on the tub, loose and missing drain spout. There was a dried up contact lens stuck to the sink upon our arrival.

The hotel is very dated and definitely needs a refreshed look. Staff were accommodating, no one really stood out. Some even looked bored being at work. This is my first time staying at a Sheraton and there may not be a next.

The glass doors to the balcony are so thin. Every street noise and from the construction across the street could be heard too.

Perfect location for beach, shopping & restaurants. We were in the renovated tower with a beautiful view. The room was clean & the staff great. The only thing I didn’t appreciate was the extra $49.00 a night resort fee. Being there for 8 days came to an extra $398.00 charge.

Staff \"upgraded\" me and my friend to a room with a view facing loud construction. Parking was $45 per day and had an ADDITIONAL resort fee of 50$ PER DAY. This would've been fine, but felt sneaky as we never saw it anywhere during booking and only saw it on the receipt when we got charged.

The property and staff were amazing and very accommodating.
One thing to be careful about when booking through a third party like Expedia: they may show rooms with features like a balcony and ocean view, but you could end up with a much smaller, less desirable room. In my case, the fine print indicated there was no balcony.

That said, the staff at the Sheraton were fantastic. They helped move me to a different room that was a bit larger. It still didn’t have a patio, but I didn’t mind thanks to their excellent service.

Really great hotel and super centrally located in Waikiki! Walking distance to the beach, stores, and restaurants. The resort fee was a little unexpected when calculating out accommodation cost but for the price per night compared to other hotels in the area, not too bad. There’s a lot of hotel activities that are part of the resort fee that we would have attended if we didn’t have other activities planned during our trip. Room was nice, recently update and very clean (staff was great at cleaning daily). Hotel is undergoing some renovations at this time but I didn’t really mind or notice that much. Would highly recommend!

I recently stayed at the Sheraton Princess Waikīkī and had a mixed experience overall.

The biggest highlight is the location. It’s right in the center of Waikīkī with easy access to shops, restaurants, and the beach, which makes getting around very convenient. The hotel also has nice live music during the day and evenings that adds a relaxing atmosphere, and the Splash Bar is a pleasant spot to unwind with a good selection of food and drinks.

That said, there are a few drawbacks worth noting. The more affordable rooms face the parking structure, which can be quite noisy during the day with garbage service, cars coming and going, and occasional engine revving. The rooms themselves feel outdated, and the refrigerator located inside the cabinet below the TV makes a loud humming noise that can be disruptive when trying to sleep.

There is also ongoing construction nearby at the corner of Kaʻiulani and Koa Avenue, which creates noticeable noise during the day—especially around the pool area. In addition, parts of the hotel itself appear to be undergoing renovations. Areas like the lobby feel dated, and signs of aging, such as rust visible on ceiling areas, stand out.

Overall, the location and atmosphere are strong positives, but if quietness and modern accommodations are important to you, this may not be the best choice. On my next visit to Waikīkī, I’ll likely try the Stay Hotel on Koa Avenue instead.

Our stay was great! It was our first time in Oahu and we loved how close we were to the beach. Loved that we were a walk away from everything we needed as well. Had zero issues when it came to parking our rental car, lots of parking available. Will definitely be returning for our next stay. The one downside was the wait times for the elevators, some were out of order making the wait times longer. I forgot my key one day and it wouldn’t allow me to return to my floor without one so had another guest scan their card for me. We also had no AC from 7am - 3pm one day but we didn’t even notice because we spent the whole day out and about so wasn’t an issue. Didn’t try out the pool, splash bar or any of the activities so can’t comment on that but the hotel has everything one would need if you just wanted to lounge around the pool all day! Excellent place for açai bowls, dole whips and waffles right outside the gates too! I would recommend to friends and family

The Sheraton Princess Kaiulani shines in terms of location—right in the heart of Waikiki, close to the beach, restaurants, and shopping. Unfortunately, several comfort issues made the stay less relaxing than expected. Despite being labeled non‑smoking, guests frequently smoked on the ground floor directly beneath the balconies, and the smoke drifted upward all day. It was difficult to enjoy the balcony because the smell rose and lingered whenever someone lit up.

The Kaiulani room is extremely small—smaller than a typical motel room and even smaller than other budget hotels we stayed at, like Waikiki Circle and Resort Hotel. Space to move or store luggage was very limited, which was surprising for a major hotel brand.

The AC unit is an older wall system positioned low enough that it blows directly onto the bed, making sleep uncomfortable. The bathroom layout also needs improvement, as the toilet seat doesn’t stay up on its own.

The pool area is another frustration: not enough chairs for the number of guests, and many of the best spots appear to be “reserved,” leaving limited seating for everyone else.

The hotel also increased its daily resort fee, and the final amount ended up higher than what was shown on Expedia, which felt misleading.

The location is excellent, but the hotel would benefit from updates, clearer pricing, and better enforcement of its policies to match modern Waikiki expectations.

I was upset that I didnt get the bed I reserved. I booked for a upgraded room with ocean view and king bed and when I arrived I was told the bed I reserved wasn't available and was given a 2 small double beds and the staff pretty much told me o well thats how it is because I booked through a 3rd party. I've been staying at this hotel almost every year for almost 10 years but its probably going to be my last time, really disappointing.

We booked our stay at Sheraton Princess. The staff is awesome- very friendly and amicable. The splash bar was good. Its central to the walking strip and the beach is literally 3 min away. They have acai and fresh fruit, shaved ice places within feet of the hotel. The only downside is that the hotel doesnt need a little remodeling and the rooms are not that big. But again that is pretty common in the island. Our biggest pet peeve was that in our room the air conditioning fixture was right next to our bed literally inches from the head stand. We had to put the AC on low and cover the fixture with towels every night.

Aside from that everything else was great. I would recommend this hotel to family travelers but be mindful of some of the things I shared

The staff was surprisingly extra nice! This kind of serviced almost disappeared nowadays. I even forgot the feeling of good customer service.Overall, the hotel is in a great location, and I would consider coming back because of that. It’s in a cleaner area—just one block away, from homeless area. With a smile of homeless/urine. And feeling unsafe
However, there were several downsides. We were told we’d have a city view, but our room actually overlooked a dumpster and a large parking lot. It was quite noisy, especially at night when trucks came to unload. And cars drifting on parking lot. The balcony wasn’t enjoyable because of this view and noise.
The beds were also very small and the mattress was uncomfortable and too hard, making it difficult for two people to sleep well. One of the beds was positioned directly in front of a heater/AC unit, which had a strong moldy smell blowing right toward you, making it hard to ignore.
In summary, the location is the biggest plus, but the room conditions and comfort definitely need improvement.

I am not sure what amenities I was paying for at $49.86 per day as not listed anywhere but feel it was totally inappropriate. I used two beach towels in 5 days, sat in a chair by the pool for maybe an hour one day, didn't use the game room or any other what might be considered amenities. So, what does $49.86 cover???
I enjoyed the room shower that had great pressure and volume which is not that common in many hotels. However, I never understand why hotels have the cheapest toilet paper.
I enjoyed sitting on the balcony enjoying the sunrise and the ocean view. I stayed at the \"PK\", that is what we called it when I was a stewardess in the mid to late 1960s, and walking across to the Moana to enjoy coffee at the beach in the morning. I relived that scene this year.....Thanks for the memories!!

This hotel was chosen due to its proximity to the beach. It is located in a great location. This hotel does have two sides, one side that is not renovated and not updated and the other side that the rooms are updated in our renovated. I did stay on the side where the rooms were not updated or renovated, and you can definitely see the difference in the quality in the room. The rooms are not spacious. They’re very small and cramped. The bedding linen had strings pulled out from the bed, and there were tons of little Nat flies that got into the room area. The bathroom didn’t have a lot of space to put your items. I did see a roach in the room and did call the front desk for assistance and they offered to move me rooms up into the next floor up, which in that room, I experienced having a ton of flies in the room for whatever reason. Overall, the staff was friendly the pool area bar area. People were friendly. If you do decide to stay here due to the upgraded renovated room as the non-renovated side is not very pleasant to be on, and you have no view. The only view I had was of the parking garage however, personally I will most likely not be staying here again when I come down to Waikiki.

We recently stayed at this hotel for four nights and had a mixed experience overall.

On the positive side, the location is fantastic—just a short walk to the beach, nearby restaurants, and even a strip mall, which made everything very convenient. The on-site parking at $45/day is also reasonable considering the area, and we appreciated having that option available.

However, there were a couple of issues that affected our stay. From the beginning, the bathroom had a noticeable urine smell that we couldn’t fully get rid of. While it was unpleasant, we chose to overlook it for the most part. Unfortunately, things escalated on our last night when we spotted a cockroach on the bathroom door.

We immediately contacted the front desk, and to their credit, they were very apologetic and tried to assist us. Unfortunately, no alternative rooms were available. They offered to send maintenance, but it took quite some time for someone to arrive—long enough that the cockroach reappeared and we were able to catch it ourselves. When the maintenance staff finally came and we showed him the photo, his response was simply “ew,” which didn’t feel particularly reassuring or professional.

Overall, while the location and some amenities were great, the cleanliness issues and handling of the situation left us disappointed.

Renovated rooms were great. Clean, felt refreshed. The in-room coffee was not good (but lots of coffee options nearby). Refrigerators were clean and useful for snacks and leftovers. Hotel staff was very nice (shoutout to floor 10 housekeeping). I did have to call the front desk to have the key activated on my phone upon check in time, since I had arrived early for check in before my room was ready. Ocean view room could hear noise from street performers and the band down in the lobby, but the noise from the band stopped at a reasonable time, even for an early morning half marathon start time the next day. Great option for the value!

We originally booked partial ocean view but we got upgraded to a full ocean view at check in. The hotel is not even on the beach so “full ocean view” was the view of beach front hotels. The pictures on the website are very misleading, the only reason I even paid extra for the partial ocean view was because of those pictures. Other than that, stuff was very friendly and helpful, hotel is clean and located in the heart of Waikiki.

The location of this hotel is one of the best. The rooms were clean and comfortable. The staff is very accommodating.

That said, the hotel could use major renovations. The self parking in parking structure is one of the worst and there’s no elevator service in the main structure. If the parking is full, you must park at the international market place. EV charging is available for non Tesla cars unless you carry your own adapter. I rented a Tesla (no adapter provide) and had to pay for parking at the international market plus the cost of charging or you could drive to Pearlridge mall to charge your Tesla without paying for parking.

Overall, I really enjoyed myself and had a nice stay.

Istayed at this hotel and was surprised by a mandatory resort fee of about 50$ per night that was not clearly disclosed during booking, the staff mentioned it at check-in , but it wasn't explained in a transparent way beforehand. While the hotel itself is fine ,this kind of hidden fee feels misleading and impacts the overall experience.i recommend future guests double-check all additional charges before booking.

I’m honestly shocked this hotel is advertised as a 4.5-star property—it felt closer to a 2-star experience at best. The room was extremely outdated, with no signs of recent renovations or upkeep.

The bathroom was particularly disappointing. It was not clean to standard, and the shower felt like it hadn’t been updated in decades. The showerhead was rusty, old, and had almost no water pressure, making it very uncomfortable to use.

The balcony was another issue—the windows were old and loose, and with the wind, they made constant squeaking noises throughout the night, which made it difficult to sleep.

On top of that, the extra fees are excessive and frustrating. You’re charged $45 per night for parking, plus an additional $45 daily resort fee, which doesn’t feel justified given the poor condition of the property.

Overall, this was a very disappointing stay, and I would not return or recommend this hotel to others.

- Upon check in they said they “upgraded” our room.. what they meant was, we paid the same price to go from a King size bed to 2 double beds. Beds were terribly uncomfortable.
- Only 1 working elevator for a majority of the stay.. so you’d have to wait up to 10 minutes for a free elevator
- The hotel can be pretty loud at night making it difficult to sleep, especially if your bed is uncomfortable
- The TV randomly turned on by itself around 2pm. Plus our TV remote control died, so we had to unplug the TV

A few positives:
- The splash bar food and drinks were surprisingly good. The servers there were very nice
- Great location to the beach, quick walk with a lot of options for food and drinks

Pool closes at 6pm, not worth the resort fees. Parking is mainly for valet only, its a pain to find self parking. There are bars close by that are loud that will keep you up at night. Breakfast options are not the best, hardly any protein mainly potatoes and bread.

The hotel is in the heart of Waikiki. Safe area, 1 minute walking distance to the beach and other business. Great service, employees are very helpful and hospitable.

The hotel was well located just across the road from the beach. We had a lovely ocean view room on the 24th floor. Most of the staff were really friendly and helpful - just one lady on reception who wasn’t helpful unfortunately but the rest of the staff were amazing. The room we had was very noisy - being ocean view and on the main street side meant you could hear all the street noise, loud cars etc. They make the BEST pina coladas at the Splash Bar!

Was impossible to relax or open the balcony due to loud construction noise. Rooms should be half price due to that. Room was not vacuumed at all. Also very outdated room.
