the kitchen was terrible half of the utensils wernt there, whisk wood spoons sheet pans, also the stove and the microwave were not working properly so i had to continue to make complaints and eventually they came and replaced the microwave. the stove was the worst kind i ever got my hands on the controls very difficult to see and dangerous of burning myself as they couldn’t be read very well. the oven worked though.

light under the cabinets not working and the lack of light in the kitchen made it a huge issue to cook meals.

the bed well forget about it i had injured my back thanks to those outdated metal coils in the ovously very old bed r days into my trip, had to make an emergency request for them to assemble the sofa bed after that i managed to sleep slightly better.

the other hudge issues was that with 2 out of the 3 elevators working and the 3rd one out of service meant that i had to wait on several times about 1 hour to be able to get to the 26th floor and the ice-cream melted. staff unable to advise and said not my problem.

had to wait far too long for any hot water especially on days when they did essential repair on the plumbing 20 th floors and up very angry because no one told us the exact times the water would be shut down so guest was unable to shower, eat or make hot drinks. the whole building stank of damp and there was mold on the terrace balcony tiles.

staff very helpful though and arranged taxis well

no air fryer was not a good idea and i bought one.

If youu are looking for a great place to stay for relatively great price. This is it! Was able to check in at 3:00pm and got into my room. Staff was super nice and sweet. Had a great partial view of Waikiki beach. Felt like a studio. There was a dining table, a pull out couch, and bed. Small kitchen with a microwave. Supplied dishes, and all of the necessary appliances. The room was super clean. Only thing me was that the rooms were a little outdated, but overall, it was a great stay and will come back again!

Stayed here several times with my family and each time it has been a great experience. Staff is always pleasant and offers quick service. Rooms are clean as well as the rest of the property. Parking is affordable and location is walking distance to all of our favorite spots in Waikiki. Can’t wait for our next staycation here.

We had a mixed experience during our stay. Unfortunately, the curtains in our room had holes in them and the carpet was noticeably dirty, which made the room feel a bit worn and not as clean as we would have liked. The elevators were also extremely slow, which became frustrating, especially during busy times.

On a positive note, the pool area and lounge were very nice and well maintained. We really enjoyed spending time in the hot tub and sauna — those amenities were definitely the highlight of our stay.

The pool was closed my entire stay, one of the elevators was not working, on one of the days during my stay, the water was shut off from 9am to 3 pm, no house keeping on 2 of the 3 days, I only found one staff member that was friendly.

This is our 2nd stay at the Pacific Monarch. We upgraded this time from a studio with 2 twin beds to a suite with 2 twin beds in a bedroom. Loved the room. It was a corner room. The staff was great and those working at the front desk were animated and personable. We could have used salt, pepper and papertowels in our little kitchen. An ice machine every 5 floors would make the trip for ice a little easier than having to go to the roof each time. Also, this trip I was having a knee issue and could not climb the 2 flights of stairs up to the pool. That was sad. I enjoyed the pool and hot tub my last trip. The beach was very close as was Maui brewery and the market. Lots of yummy restaurants were close by too. We will come back and stay onour next trip to Oahu.

One of the front desk staff is very nice. The location of the hotel is excellent.The rooms on the elevator side can get hot easily when the sun rise. The room is hot (more than warm) during day even when the air conditioning is at the highest. Dont plan to stay in your room during day time.

This is not my first time staying at Pacific Monarch, but it has been some time since my last stay at this \"hotel\". The staff are very friendly and helpful, comfortable bed, a sliding window that spans almost the entire room brings in that warm ocean breeze, and I really like having a kitchenette that even comes with a toaster and a rice cooker! The only two minor complaints were cleanliness in the hallways and elevators, and with a full house, two elevators were working over time to accommodate all of the guests coming and going. Sometimes the wait for the elevator was close to 5 minutes and at times you had to wait for another because you couldn't squeeze in. Otherwise, I really love the location, it's close to all the hot eating spots, walkable to everywhere, and the beach is right down the street. However, I chose to lay at the pool which is on the roof and has a sauna and hot tub. I will definitely consider staying here again.

The rooftop is gorgeous with views, great pool, hot tub, lounge and sauna… our room was on a lower floor near a parking lot with construction noise, but that was the only downside. Staff is friendly, and there’s lots of convenient food and drinks right outside the lobby. Would stay here again.

The room was shabby, not the cleaning staff fault, the bathroom really needs a makeover if you are renting a property for this kind of a price. No basic amenities which other renters in the same complex had, like a minimum salt and pepper when there is a kitchen , a laundry hamper .. nothing. Overall I don’t think I would recommend this place to anyone. It was also smelly, the AC kicks in only at midnight.. I can go on and on

Check-in was difficult due to the lack of parking, which was only available for a fee after check-in. Location was very good with the beach and plenty of shopping and restaurants within easy walking distance.

It was okay. We were not as happy as we would have liked. Having to go down 28 flights of stairs for a fire alarm or a smoke alarm was not thrilling. Then the management did not even call the fire department. They just told us to go back to our rooms very unsafe. Rooms were outdated

We had a lot of bug bites. The carpet looks very old and it appears that it doesn’t get cleaned regularly. We asked for the room to be cleaned but we were told it wasn’t scheduled to be cleaned. We stayed for 6 days and the room was only cleaned twice.

The room was nice enough. It had floor to ceiling windows that opened to a small balcony. The sun heated the room up a lot. Bbq grill available on the roof. Small kitchenette had everything you need. The elevators were fast. Parking was around 35 bucks a day.

Terrible views. The room overlooks parking and people can directly stare into the rooms. The rooms are outdated and the blinds don't close all the way. The \"parking\" is not included and is privately owned. For $35 a day, they warn you repeatedly that the actual owners of the parking garage will tow cars for the slightest grievance. The hotel does offer free chair and umbrella use which is lovely. The area is surrounded by homeless and the entire location is dirty and felt unsafe to walk.

Was decent if needing somewhere to stay but would not stay here again. Property was an older people which wasn’t a problem for me and it was clean but the area surrounding is not what you expect from traveling to Hawaii in what’s supposed to be paradise. Lots of drug addicts and homeless people wandering around in Waikiki. I did like how easy it is to walk to and from several restaurants and even transportation via Lyft/uber was cheap. Hotel staff was friendly enough.

Waikiki beach, restaurants, and shopping are all within a short walk. The room was spacious, comfortable, and had an efficient layout. Views from the rooftop pool, jacuzzi, and BBQ grill area were amazing! Be prepared to wait for an elevator, drive extremely cautiously in the secured parking, and bring a cooking pot to the rooftop to get ice (only ice machine for the entire property). Front desk staff were super friendly and helpful!

Like most people are posting, the room could use a refresh. But it was clean. Building looks great outside. Great spot, 2 blocks from international marketplace and also the beach.

Parking is strict, I personally saw a tow truck in the middle of the night entering the lot. The parking is like boot camp. Follow instructions to a tee or get towed on your Hawaii trip.

Staff was friendly and accommodating. Price is fair for what you get compared to the rest of Waikiki. Oh, the air conditioner is only a little wall unit and if you turn it all the way down it will cool most of the suite but if you close the door to the bedroom, it’s going to be uncomfortable. I found that out the first night. You have to leave the bedroom door open and turn on the tower fan that is in the room just so you can fall asleep. About 9am you will wake up to a warm bedroom.

My room 1507 was a corner one bedroom suite and I had a good view of Kūhiō ave and Uluniu Ave. If you look in the day, you can see the ocean between a couple other hotels.

It also had a stove, microwave, cups, coffee mugs, utensils, and a refrigerator with separate freezer. 32” TV on the wall with direct tv. Also has WiFi but I didn’t use it. The room had a sofa with a built in bed, and a dining table with a couple of chairs.

I’d stay again, but I wish they had a second air conditioner in the bedroom.

Family Stay at Pacific Monarch – A Mixed Experience This Time
We’ve stayed at the Pacific Monarch over a dozen times, and it’s usually our go-to spot for family trips to Waikiki. The location is ideal, and we’ve had many great experiences in the past, which is why we keep coming back.

This time, however, our stay was a bit of a mixed bag. We rented two rooms for our family, and while one of them was a delight—spacious, cool, and very comfortable—the other left much to be desired. The first room felt overstuffed with oversized furniture that didn’t fit the space well, making it cramped and awkward to move around in. The air conditioning unit was oddly tucked away inside a closet, which made it nearly useless in keeping the room cool. It was uncomfortably warm throughout our stay.

Had we needed to use the hide-a-bed, it would have been a logistical nightmare. The only way to make space for it would have been to move the dining table out onto the patio, which clearly wasn’t a practical solution.

Thankfully, the second room more than made up for it. It was ten times cooler, better laid out, and much more comfortable for our family to relax in.

We still love Pacific Monarch for its location and have had many good stays here, but this experience reminded us that room quality can vary quite a bit. If you’re traveling with family, it might be worth calling ahead to request a room with a better layout and functioning A/C.

The location of Pacific Monarch is great! close to the beach, restaurants, and shops. But honestly, the experience didn’t live up to the price we paid.

The elevators are extremely slow; every morning before breakfast, we had to wait 5 to 10 minutes just to go downstairs. On top of that, the hotel is currently under renovation, which was never mentioned during booking. There’s constant noise from construction equipment throughout the day.

If you’re looking to relax after morning activities, this is definitely not the right place. It was frustrating and stressful to deal with all of this during the summer and peak season.

For what we paid, it really wasn’t worth it.
