Obviously, this property needs renovation. It is old & a face lift needed is obvious. I stay here a lot because of the location. It is in the middle of Waikiki. Close to everything. Lots of restaurants. But every time I stay there the one thing I know will be the bathroom is messed up. Every shower I have encountered in this hotel is horrible. I just got back from a trip which I stayed there and the shower was horrible. I meant to take a picture but forgot. But that was the worst so far. They definitely need bathrooms updated. Other than that, the staff is always wonderful, friendly, and as accommodating as they can be.

The pictures on the website and used in this app must be 20 years old. The reception counter should be were they try to impress; the cabinets on the wall were completely dirty with black all around the handles. The walls in the hallways were poorly patched up. We only had hot water 2 out of 5 days. The rooms were just aged. Motel 6 has better kept rooms. The hotel is conveniently located to shops, restaurants, coffee shops, but it’s also on a very busy and loud street. Between the people activity, motor cycles, and music it was hard to get to sleep before 11:30pm. The main reason I booked this hotel was for the fully stocked kitchenette. Well all we had were 4 settings of plates and silverware, no means to even boil water or microwave.

not as pictured.. very dirty, disgusting, outdated, moldy.. no rest the whole 3 nights there; screaming crying kids & when they were not crying, they were jumping up and down on the furniture, hitting the walls, running up and down hallways, screaming and carrying on.. staff didn’t do anything about it.. I don’t think they were guests. I think they were living there.

Bathroom looked like it had not been cleaned for a while. Sheets and bedding were not changed and had particles from the last guest. Photos look nice but are substantially outdated compared to its current state. Hotel parking is $51 a night. Staff seemed agitated.

I have stayed at this hotel multiple times and I really enjoy it.It's in the heart of downtown where you can go to the beach.If desired with a short walk, you can go to multiple nice restaurants as well as stores in the area.You are on the bus strip.So if you do not want to rent a car, you're able to catch one of the local buses that will take you all over the island. The daily parking fee is pretty high. But again, if you don't want to rent a car, that's not something that's going to affect you, they do charge an amenity fee at the hotel which is not stated on the booking apps.So watch out for that. The complementary breakfast is only for small.Items, which are granola, bars or chips.So if you do have a family of 5 1person will be left out but overall, the staff is very welcoming. And inviting the rooms are clean. There is a restaurant that is located in the hotel that you can get food at. If desired, the view is beautiful, I will stay at this hotel again and again as it's in a great location. The building is an older building ISIS a little ran down. But the professionalism of the staff is great as well. I don't think it's a bad place to stay. Especially if you're there for the experience of going and exploring hawaii opposed to just staying in your room.

I’d give it a 2.5 stars if I can. They change bedding every 3 days. They have only two elevators that take forever to get to you. Prepare for delays just because of the slow elevator. Only 1 water filtration station for the entire hotel. Staff was kind but overall very old and out dated hotel. Our hot water for showers kept going in and out.

Honestly the hotel is in the perfect location, however… it we were greeted by roaches in the room and they were roaches pregnant ones ect, they said they would switch our room but didn’t they sent someone to spray our room the next day in which he came later in the day and was unable to and never came back, we was woken up to water coming down on us and our belongings because the person on the floor above left his water running and it came down in my room and the person underneath me, they charge you 150 for amenities which I believe wasn’t worth it

Simply put it was a great stay! Hotel staff is very friendly, attentive to clients’ needs. Rooms clean, serviced daily by hardworking staff. Beach towels provided are a welcome addition to enjoy the world famous Waikiki beach which is a mere 10 minute walk. Situated in the heart of Waikiki, the hotel allows easy short walk to most restaurants and shopping. Highly recommend!!

The hotel was old, charged luxury tax and high valet price but nothing luxury about it. It be ok if it was at least clean but there was a roach in the shower, the stove wasn’t cleaned from the previous guest, and a questionable stain on the pillow case, they don’t offer housekeeping until 3 days. We had to evacuate because the bldg next door was on fire and we saw the smoke from our patio door. So that was scary not knowing the source of the fire and just ran down 14 flights to safety. The overall experience did not meet my expectations. There was no need to report anything to management because there wasn’t anything they can correct anyway.

There was roaches in the beds and all over the room “395”and hair in the bathtub. I went to Walmart to buy spray it helped a little but the roaches were coming out everywhere. I had to leave in the middle of the night and canceled my last night and asked for a refund. Of course they didn’t hesitate to give me the refund because I think they know they have a roach problem. Never staying there again

Stayed here for 6 days the room was an absolutely NIGHTMARE! Small bugs everywhere on the table, the stove was filthy and bathroom was disgusting and to top it all off there was a random beer can in our room behind our bed. I will say the staff were nice but that doesn’t really help us with the lack of cleanliness. It was a terrible nasty hotel do not go here!

Anna Rae at the front desk was so kind and genuinely friendly throughout our stay : ) We were in town apartment shopping and job interviewing for our upcoming move from the Big Island - so my teens and I were in and out a lot walking to lots of appointments all over Waikiki. The central location of Ohia was perfect for our busy, task driven trip. The building is less polished than other Waikiki hotels and resorts. We’ve stayed in quite a few of the “fancy” spots but if you’re looking to stay truly in the heart of Waikiki while spending a 1/4 of the average nightly cost - this place is perfect.

The staff tried to trick us by giving a regular double bed room (300 SQFT) while we booked double bed suite (500SQFT).
We went up found out the room is smaller and came down to switch to the right room category/size.
The staff was trying to defend her act which clearly showed she was trying to cheat us with a smaller room.
We had to go up to check the rooms again and came down to confirm one of them that matched the size and specification of the booking.
We booked 11 days and the staff didn't treat us cordially or checkin was bad.

The room was dirty and so were the bathrooms . The staff isn’t not very friendly. They over charged me 361$ additional to what I paid through Expedia and they claimed it was new 2026 amenities fees. They don’t clean our rooms unless requested which is very frustrating considering there is mold in the bathrooms and the towels weren’t enough for 3 people. Plus the pictures on Expedia and their website are very different. When I tried to tell them I already paid via Expedia they said these are other fees leaving me stranded to deal with Expedia the third party if I had an issue. The lobby smelt like really bad chemical cleaner that you spray for cockroaches

When we took possession of our DELUXE king suite, the bathroom had not been cleaned. The shower was full of hair and sand, and the toilet seat was absolutely disgusting. There were no fresh clean towels and no soap. The walls were yellow and the room had a strong smell of mold.

We asked the front desk to send someone to clean the bathroom while we were heading out. When we came back, we've been told it had been done BUT IT WAS A LIE : the room was in the same exact state. I was then told that a full cleaning would be scheduled the next day, which is absolutely inacceptable.

I had to insist on changing room which they finally ended up doing - after telling me there was no other room available...

The room smell like.mold in the bathroom, kitchen area as soon as you open the door. I saw cokeoach by the t.v. The bed was dirty and dust found on top of the headboard. I slept 4 hours with the balcony door open as to not breath the bad odor in the entire room. I will never stay here.

The room was very old and outdated. There was no hot water—only room-temperature water—and there was hair on the shower walls, which was unacceptable. No extra blankets were available, and although this room was advertised as a suite, it clearly was not.

The pool was extremely small, and the front desk was consistently very busy, making it difficult to get assistance. Breakfast was disappointing: one paper bag per room per day containing only a small bag of popcorn and a Nature Valley bar.

There was no heat in the room, and the air unit only allowed low, medium, or high fan settings with no real temperature control. The carpet was filthy. While the room had a kitchen, there were no pots, pans, or microwave provided.

Overall, this hotel did not meet expectations, and I would not recommend staying here.

Great location if you don’t mind music and crowd noise. Sounded like everyone was having fun which was great. Room was disgusting! Paint falling off shower tile and cleaning staff left covering drain ea day..obviously not cleaning. Walls & cab doors all falling apart, stained & disgusting. We wore flips to take a shower..in Luke warm or cold water. 0 hot water entire time. Bedding smelled and felt clean..shower curtain looked as hadn’t been washed in years! And when you get there they charge you an “amenity” fee of over $30 per day up front. We used NO amenities! Staff was always nice, but then we never complained about anything.

The hotel was nothing like the advertised photos. The building is old, with run-down bathroom walls and worn floors. There was a dead cockroach in the cupboard, and both the stove and fridge were outdated and in poor condition. The staff appeared overworked—I observed an employee in the lobby working two back-to-back shifts, covering both day and night. The laundry room is located next to the valet parking area, which adds to the noise. Overall, the property is very noisy, and the soundproofing is poor. I could hear significant noise coming from downstairs.

Overall, the property was dirty, rundown, and completely misrepresented in the advertising.

We found roaches in our room and killed some. In the morning, we found some more in the bathroom and kitchen. We informed a staff member in the morning and came back after breakfast. We asked the front desk again and they had no clue what we were talking about. They said they would do something about it like spray insecticide while we were away for the day. As soon as we got back, we walked in we saw a cockroach in the bathroom. We checked out immediately. They refused to even give us a partial refund for the night saying it’s up to Expedia but didn’t give us one anyways. VERY DISAPPOINTED in their lack of concern for the guests.

Yes the room felt very neglected we was told we was put in a penthouse suite the room was very small and not a penthouse suite at all very standard room cleanly standards was not of the part hair in the shower hair on the bed that's in a baby roach crawling on the bathroom floor no hot water I had to tell them several times about the hot water when asked for the bed to be made up sheets to be changed nothing was done had to ask them several times about that I just couldn't understand. But other than that everything else was amazing as far as my trip only thing that was a negative was the room

This place is horrible. Shame on Expedia for allowing this place on their site. We stayed there for one night and one day and had to beg Expedia to refund us the stay and find another hotel. The hotel exposed us to toxins as they had sprayed chemicals in the rooms to kill coach roaches. The roaches were running around the rooms, many of them. The second room they gave us was the same. Everything was out dated and gross. This place ruined our first days of our trip. Stay away. One staff told me that I should have read the ratings and comments before booking so that told me everything. The lobby was dirty too. They give you free water which was warm and gross. I literally felt sick and couldn’t breathe well because of the toxic spray they exposed us to in the rooms. This hotel should be shut down. It’s not a safe place for people to stay at and I wonder of the long term effects of the toxins people have been exposed to.
DON’T STAY HERE-BEWARE OF TOXINS!!!

Room is dated. Oven and fridge are from the previous century and needs to be updated. Room is small. Carpet in the room needs to be changed. Public areas are dingy and dirty. The amenity fee and Valet fee is expensive and not worth the value. Valet is required but parking lot is so small that you pay for a service and they rarely drive your car up because its parked 2 feet from the valet stand. WIFI was horrible to connect to and did not stay on consistently. Staff was GREAT! Very friendly and informative.
