In a very very good location ! The staff was so sweet and welcoming , our hotel was nice just some minor things looked a little outdated but those things don’t really matter . Parking is very close aswell less than 2-3 min walk , very yummy breakfast spots next door aswell :)!

We really enjoyed our stay at Polynesian Residences. Location is amazing right by nice stores, Fort DeRussy beach and cool malls. Staff was courteous, very kind and helpful. Our room was cleaned regularly. We had complimentary beach mats and beach towels daily. The lil kitchen had all it needed to make our meals. We will definitely return.

While a few staff members were kind and friendly, the experience overall did not meet our expectations. It was especially concerning that the hotel did not have bandages or a basic first-aid kit available when needed.

Room was clean and front desk lady was very kind and helpful. What I did not like was upon arriving to the front desk after booking online, the hotel hits you with a surprise $23 “resort fee”.
I checked in after 11pm and checked out before 7:30am. Why do I need to pay a resort fee and why is it a surprise?? Why is it not transparent in the online fee. This is kind of a scam and not appreciated

Very friendly staff and great service. The property and hotel were clean and well taken care of. Good location, within walking distance of everything. This hotel is very hard to find, it is tucked in between some shops with very small signage that blends in. We drove passed it twice had to call and get directions, I didn’t listen as well as I should have and had to call back a second time to find out that it was 4 shops down from the unloading zone. The hotel is on the older side with cosmetic updates, there was a very strange unpleasant smell on our floor, the second floor, that was being masked by plug in air fresheners, unfortunately they weren’t working very well. Older beds that were on the stiffer side, tolerable for a short time but by the 7th night we were definitely looking forward to our own beds. For the price I would probably stay again if I wasn’t going to be in Honolulu for an extended stay.

We really enjoyed the location and the unit, for the most part, was good. The unit was clean, parking was great, loved the walkability to the beach. Very nice that things like beach chairs, umbrella, etc.were included.

There were a few issues like incorrect/outdated communication about the amenities (we missed being able to use those amenities for the first 2 days, leaving us only 3 days to utilize them), inability to access tennis/pickleball courts due to a missing key, ceiling fans broken or not working properly. These issues were very disappointing.

Older hotel which is ok but this did not seem well kept. Shower was moldy, wires were hanging out of the wall in a corner of the room, etc. we stayed one night and switch to a different hotel. This is a lower priced hotel in Waikiki so we were not expecting 5 star but this was a little rough even for that.

The staff were great. Very friendly. The room was dated and there was a certain smell as you exited the elevator on the 2nd floor. Old carpet smell was strong in the room and the hot water was quite slow to get warm. Otherwise the room was good.

The rooms were great, we appreciated the cooktops for making food in our room. The beds were comfortable. There was a smell of marijuana smoke coming through the air conditioner from the street below. It was also very noisy at night, car horns and loud music. Parking is a walk away, but that was fine for us. If that doesn’t bother you than it is a great place to stay.

There was trash left in the room and was not seeped.then when I got the room on day three of my stay the room smelled like poop.very time we went into the room that is all you can smell and when we got to the room on the first day the toilet was not cleaned I would not stay there again but the staff was nice

Upon arrival. The room was dirty, meaning the sheets were stained , the shower was dirty and mold everywhere even the wallpaper. Dust all around the mirror wall as well. Furniture was stained , curtains, carpet in the room was nasty and the closet as well . We asked to change rooms and they offered two others but they were just as bad. We asked for the cleaning service to come and she changed the bed sheets. Next day my daughter took a shower and the ceiling in the room started leaking and she stepped in glass in the shower. This was the last straw, we decided to change hotels. The hotel only offered to reimburse the remainder of the stay and didnt offer any compensation. When i came to the front desk. The agent was very rude barely looked at me. I should have gotten an apology instead I got an attitude and to top it off she told me that next time I should pay more for my room when I mentioned the cleanliness. The cleanliness of a hotel is basic and has nothing to do with the amount of stars on the door. Do not go there unless you want an old dirty room

Great location at the start of the golden road. Close to amenities and bus stops as well as the beaches. Bed was comfortable and not too soft. Check in was easy and staff were friendly. Daily basic room service with beds made and new towels with self laundry service on site.

Some stains on floors and patched up wall paper. Other issues are our rooms were not recently renovated (interior not brand new), not sound proof from next door (roadside noise was not a major issue), mould in bathroom, mouldy beach towel (be careful) and inconsistency in house keeping (no soap provided until later and basic housekeeping). We had multiple rooms and all of us faced these similar issues…

I rate this based on a three star hotel and discount it for the issues raised about. Would recommend this if you want something cheaper and close to Waikiki golden road. Ignore the hotel website photos and you won’t be disappointed.

Overall not bad place given the price we paid and there are others cheaper hotel but location might not be close to Waikiki central. Don’t think resort fee $20 is justifiable.

For some, getting accommodation with free breakfast may be cheaper by eating later and skipping lunch. Hawaii is not cheap so consider bringing your own snacks. We found that we can buy goods back home cheape…

Lastly we used Hawai23 for transport to Waikiki. Great service and cheaperfor large groups. Bus also an option even though it say no suitcases to/from airport to Waikiki.

Location is great, the staff was very helpful. The kitchen could be stalked better. The carpet in our room was sticky and dirty. We had to buy slippers as our feet were getting super dirty. The cleaning staff came everyday and arranged the room. They even changed the bedsheets. We always had stack of fresh towels. Just the carpet was a problem, they need to cjange it.

It was a nice hotel in a great spot for Waikiki. The staff were incredibly helpful with a safe and tv that didn't work. The room was a nice size too.

There were a few issues as being in the heart of Waikiki we were next to the busiest road and on the 2nd floor. So we could hear traffic all night. We didn't use the pool, it looked a bit small, but I was tempted after running Honolulu marathon.

Overall it was a pleasant stay.

Room was good size, 2 double bed, Keurig coffee maker, ice cold mini fridge & microwave. The room was clean and we typically just have our room refreshed every 2nd day. The towels are typical of a value hotel. Our shower door frame could use some caulking refresh and rusty bathroom door frame base could use a quick touch-up. The wifi was excellent, the beach towel and chairs sign-out was great. Location is fantastic as a regular visitor to Honolulu. Fort DeRussy Beach park was a short 7 min stroll. The $35.00 nightly (Waikiki going rate w/ in/out) parking was convenient located just next to the Post Office. See you again! Mahalo!

The only drawback for us as a non-partying couple is that on Friday and Saturday night. It was quite loud outside. I should have done more research on the area and realized that it’s pretty busy there.

The shade curtain for the shower in the room was ripped and didn't operate properly which presentled poorly for the rest of the room.

DO NOT STAY HERE!! We stayed here for one 1 out of the 7 nights we planned due to massive health concerns caused by lack of sanitation. The bathroom was covered in BLACK MOLD, the wallpaper was peeling off in the main room, surfaces were sticky and disgusting. The only reason we stayed was because we got in at midnight after a 7 hour flight.

They tried to change us to another room and this room was equally terrible. The caulking and grout in both bathrooms were black.

Pictures online do not represent the state of this place. We were left stranded from 8 am until our new hotel was ready at 4 pm. We paid about the same price to stay at the Marriott which has better amenities, and is sparkling clean.

Had to fight to get our refund through Expedia and the front desk but was completely worth it. Changing hotels changed the trajectory of our entire trip.

When we checked in, the bathroom. Looked like work was being done. The vent was removed from the ceiling. Room needed cleaning. Staff offered a new room. The new room there was a roach in the bathroom. The glass shower door was not installed correctly so it kept falling off the track and trapping me in the shower. Late at night a maintenance worker knocked on our door and didn’t identify themselves, when we answered he asked if we were ok. That was strange since it was late and we didn’t call for maintenance. We tried requesting to cancel our reservation and refund through our booking site. With several attempts to contact management there was no response. We have not received any follow up from the hotel either.

After an extremely thorough search this was my #1 choice & it was perfect: well-priced, exceptionally clean property & rooms, exceptional housekeepers, amazing pool, 24-hr. front desk, hotel centrally located in a busy & safe part of town.
10-minute walk to Waikiki beach & Denny's for a hearty breakfast which you'll need (tell Mgr. Eric a 49ers fan sent you).
You'll pay $20+tax/day at check-in for use of pool & pool towels but you'll be glad you did.

The hotel is conveniently located in the middle of the Waikiki hustle and bustle. Lots of shopping and dining options plus centrally located for excursion pick up/drop offs. The only con I have is regarding the offsite parking that requires a walk around the block. That gets hectic when you’re arriving/departing with all your suitcases.
