Rooms are clean, we had a balcony room with a great view.

Staff was helpful and knowledgeable.

Great vibes all around.

Everything smelled good 👍

Had a bar(didn't go) had buffet breakfast.

Pool looked decent, we just use the lounge chair (comfortable)

Had many more amenities inside the hotel.

We received a gift from booking which we as cool.

Both something from the gift shop.

Many things around the hotel as well.

Definitely a popular place to be, mall is a brisk walk off the second floor.

Me and my family always enjoy our stay at Ala Moana Hotel. There were multiple events happening in and around Ala Moana Hotel like graduations, cheer competitions and even beauty pageants which caused major back ups in the elevator. Security was really helpful and tried their best to help with the elevator situations. Housekeeping staff was spectacular. The hotel room was clean and fresh. We did notice that their beautiful lei wallpaper was peeling off in some areas. The ice & water machine was broken on our floor so we had to go to a different one for that. We also bought sodas from their vending machine, however the sodas were expired from 2025. I was able to get a refund at the front desk for the sodas. Other than those minor things, Ala Moana Hotel is a great place to stay!

The staff was difficult to speak with at times. I had paid for breakfast in advance through expedia for 2 guests. 1 adult and 1 child. The booking says free breakfast. At check-in. I double checked with front desk and they said yes it is included. Next day tney didnt want to honor it. Only for an adult and not my child. They said i needed to request a refund through expedia. Worse experience.

On top of that the elevator system is terrible. They have one button downstairs and only certain elevators go to certain floors. So you are playing elevator roulette for the right one to opn , it was ridiculous. And everyone knew how bad it was. I was the first one in line and and they shoved and pushed u out of the way. Ot was so bad for the amount of money i spent , im so angry and will not be going back and dont recommend it all

Cleaning needs a lot of improvement. Had to for shampoo and shower gel on the first day of stay. It should have been refilled before we checked in. Will not stay there again or recommend it.

I experience an issue at the hotel upon the check in process, the hotel did a switch and bait when it came to the room I purchase in my package deal with Expedia, I had to involved the executive management team for an explanation after a long ordeal and calling out the hotel practices on a switch and bait practices per what was on there website and Expedia website my room was finally changed to the correct Oceanview room instead of trying to provide me with a partial ocean view room The front desk manager address my concerns and ensure everything was taken care of and we were ok with the accommodation, being a previous resident of Hawaii and knowing this property like the back of my hand and previous stayed at this resort for over the last 20 years they should have known better for this type of practice when you book your vacation through a third party company like Expedia instead of booking through the hotel directly, I made it very cleat to the hotel that they need to ensure all guests be provided the correct room view that was paid for, I appreciated the hotel correcting their internal processes to ensure this does not happen in the future when I plan to return for my next visit with in the next 6 months.

The room was okay but it was not built with older guests in mind. The bathroom was the biggest problem because the toilet was so low that my short wife was not comfortable with it and not easy for me either. The toilet paper holder was quite a distance from the toilet and had to stretch to get some. Shower had water coming out from both the faucet and the shower fixture.

The room was clean and comfortable. We got there late and just stayed overnight so did not use any amenities. We did however purchase the breakfast package for convenience as we were not familiar with other options in the area. I made sure to confirm this at check-in and was told the hours were 7-10:30 on Sunday. We arrived for breakfast at 8:25 and were told that the restaurant would not honor our voucher as it was holding a special reservation only event. We talked to the front desk staff, then the manager - although they did apologize in a cold fashion they certainly didn’t seem to care at all and did not offer any alternative solutions. We did get a cash refund. Apparently this situation had happened several times with other customers that morning. We needed to walk 1/2 mile to the Ala Moana Mall to eat plate lunch at their food court.

Noisy. Heard the elevators all night. Complained to the front desk manager & didn’t receive a callback, Complained again to the manager upon checkout.. she replied, “unfortunately our elevators are loud.” Requested a bath mat from housekeeping & received a floor towel instead. We did have a nice dinner at Signature Steakhouse.

The Housekeeping staff were amazing and extremely helpful. The front desk personnel were helpful and competent but not very personable. The bell service and the valet were very understaffed and trying their best to service guests, to the point they were visibly stressed and flustered .

Always a go to place for me to stay when coming home, but they must address the elevator issues as there were lines that could last up to 15-20mins for you to get on one. Escalators were down with no other options. Hoping they can resolve this, but I’ll be back because of the location.

The property was clean and well maintained, the housekeeping were super great. Souvenir Shops on site has great merchandise with friendly staff. Location was very convenient for shopping and food at the mall since Starbucks on site closes early and the 410 cafe only serves breakfast buffet and closes early. The park and walking path going to the beach had a lot of homeless camped out.

The room & lobby was very nice. The pool itself in need of updating. Lots of chairs to sit. Very small roped off section of shallow water (3-4 ft). The remainder is deep water up to 9 ft. Towels & lotions provided, which was nice. No whirlpool/spa. The stairs to climb in/out very hard for seniors. No snack bar to purchase drinks. Drinks at the DaDa bar are not allowed at the pool. Bring your own from outside is allowed. My opinion only, but pool is not worth the Amenity Fee.
The buffet breakfast was very good & staff there very friendly & attentive. The amenity fee did provide 1/2 off buffet price.

The younger bell staff are most welcoming and sincere...bell captain a bit subdued (perhaps tired) Our bellman upon departure was OK for AM luggage pick up, while not the usual upbeat aloha spirit we've seen in our years of staying at your property. Ala Moana will STILL always be the fave by my friends and family - mahaloz!

Check in was terrible- after travelling for 10 hours, I would like to be greeted right away. There not busy at all but all three attendants acted like we did not exist. They were short on their responses and acted as if we are a bother than guests.
Vending machines did not work on the first night we arrived late at night - I just want water to drink. The free two bottles can be redeemed only during the store was open.
I booked an ocean view but what I got was peek a boo view of the ocean.

This hotel is conveniently located near the Ala Moana mall, which has lots of shopping and good food. It’s also very close to a nice beach that is not very crowded. There are a few restaurants in the hotel itself too. This location made our trip even better especially since we had a lot of rain during our vacation

The room we booked wasn’t clean upon check-in :/ that was super disappointing. There’s a lot of fees and such tacked on and it’s unclear until you ask questions. I stayed here in November of last year and it was fine but this time around even though I got a better room, the experience was of lesser quality, which ultimately was a bummer. If I were to visit the area again, I’d stay somewhere else for sure.

Great location right next to Ala Moana center (use second floor parking at the center to walk straight across the skybridge to the hotel) and walkable to Magic Island beach. Rooms weren’t spacious but they were clean with comfy beds. Onsite restaurants were solid and staff overall were awesome. Things get busy over the weekend, expect a crowded lobby and lots of stops on elevators.

I stay at the Ala Moana Hotel about 3 or 5 times a year. It’s clean, the staff are friendly. Starbucks is conveniently in the hotel lobby, but what keeps me coming back is the location. It’s located in a central area to the shopping center, Convention Center numerous restaurants and Ala
Moana Shopping Center is right there.

I have always had a great stay. Just this visit, my room smelled of heavy cigarette smoke. The housekeeping staff came and deodorized the room which didn't last. I now wonder if rooms are cleaned thoroughly after each stay.

I love the lei wall in our room! Customer service was great. Housekeeper Lourdes was so sweet. The room was also so clean and fresh when we got back to it in the evening. I love that we were close to shops and even had a nice breakfast buffet and Starbucks in the hotel. Thank you Ala Moana Hotel!

The booking was a gift for our sister's honeymoon so we had high expectations as we booked the ocean view room. They didn't receive an ocean front room and the front desk staff were not helpful to correct the issue. Expedia worked on our behalf but the hotel wouldn't help and there was no communication from them when we reached out. As for the housekeeping staff and the cleanliness, it was 5 stars. The amenities that were used: pool side and gym were 5 star. The location was fantastic and the couple said they would stay there again.

The property itself was okay but some things are showing a bit of rust even though the room was recently renovated. The bed and sheets are nice and comfortable. The A/C was strong and nice. The complementary internet was fast enough and stable. Underground parking is a bit pricey per night and adds up quick. The pool area is pretty but I didn't really use it since the beach isn't that far away. The staff were always welcoming and accomodating. The gentleman that checked me in was Justin and he always welcomed me with an \"aloha\" and a smile.

Our stay at the Ala Moana was amazing! The food was also amazing, but would have loved a little more options. Otherwise, the food options were tasty and limitless. The staff in the cafe were also wonderful, but by far, Heavenly was the most amazing!!! She goes above ans beyond, always with a smile. She's very heavenly, and very unforgetable! As far as the cleaniness of this hotel, we give a 5 star! Our only disappointment is that the hotel advertised and charged for ocean view, but in fact, it was only a glimpse of the occean! House keeping came to clean our room twice, but they never fluff and straightened the bed linen. The only thing that was done for cleaning the room was clean towels and making the bed looked presentable upon entering the room. Overall, This is a beautiful hotel, location is amazing, and you cannot beat the breakfast package! I would consider staying here again if not looking to pay oceanfront price.
