Apart from being close to the subway, there is nothing much positive about the hotel. Rooms are old, bed and pillows are very soft, bad internet connection (maybe we were in a far corner room). Paid breakfast is just okay. Least value for money

After being there it want the right place to visit Berlin, just a little too far away, but the price reflected that, disappointed that the thing that were advertised weren’t available, although they said the hotel was full, the bar was not open at all during the stay, the advertised access to the gym was not available as they had stopped that, that should be changed. The hotel was ok, but not really nice location. At a £100 pounds a night it was ok.

Somewhat outdated but comfortable

Comfortable hotel in West Berlin. This hotel feels past its prime and would need remodeling and a serious paint job. But despite that, rooms are comfortable and the bed is fantastic. There is plenty of parking space in the street near the hotel. And the hotel is located a block away from a delicious bakery named U-Bäck. Downtown Berlin is about 25 minutes away by car. There is also a subway stop next to the hotel. Nice staff.

Paid full through Expedia for 2 rooms 2 nights. The hotel automatically down graded from Junior Suite to double twin cheapest rate rooms, without issuing credit, refused to provide recept upon checking out in person as I asked for it with my dispute purpose comparing to original booking through Expedia.
Plus, listing \"parking included\" IS NOTcorrect. Guests have to find any available street side parking, not provide from the hotel. It seems that the hotel never own any parking spot.

Very expensive for what it is.

This hotel was very expensive for what it was. When we arrived in our room, there was no shampoo or shower gel in the dispensers. I had to ask at reception twice before they were filled. The hotel is located quite far from the centre of Berlin. The swimming pool is not heated and is too cold to enjoy, even on a warm day as it was during our stay. We were the only people in the pool and could only stay in for a couple of minutes before we had to get out due to the low temperature. The wifi is very poor. It is incredibly slow and only worked intermittently. I can't comment on the breakfast as it was not included with our stay (despite the high cost of our room) and was too expensive to pay for separately, so we decided to eat elsewhere. The room was a good size and fairly comfortable, but I can't really recommend this hotel for the reasons mentioned above. If it had been cheaper, it would have been worth it, but not for the price we paid.

UNHELPFUL AND RUDE STAFF!

We checked in with a lady called Cindy Chen, after going up to the room I realised we had been given the wrong room as I had paid extra for a superior room with a balcony, mini bar, and tea and coffee facilities, yet there was no balcony, only a kettle with no proper tea and coffee makings, and the minibar fridge wouldn’t open. I went down to reception to express my issues however the lady, Cindy Chen, told us we had been given a bathroom instead of a balcony (not what I paid extra money for!!!) and that she couldn’t sort out our issues. As she was the manager, and the only member of staff on shift, i question whether she should be in that role if she’s unable to sort out any issues. After a small while of us trying to make sense of things she started shooing us to the side with hand gestures and told us to come back tomorrow so someone else could sort it out. We therefore gave up and went back up to the room where I then contacted hotels.com customer service, and again the lady I spoke to was no help either, saying that the bathroom was instead of the balcony, not understanding the only reason I paid extra was for the balcony, she didn’t resolve my issue at all just offered me a coupon which as much as I appreciate it, would have been better to just sort out the issue at hand! At this point I just left it as I realised noone was going to help!
Couple of other things to note- stains on the carpet in our room (picture attached) and the bathroom door wasn’t even able to shut

The hotel is a nice, clean facility with friendly, helpful staff. Overall it's a nice place to stay. Sadly the bar had closed during lockdown and is still eaiting to reopen. But you can get beer at reception or the nearby shops and sit at the pool area. There is an underground station slmost outside, so transport links are good. We ate at a nice Italian restaurant just two streets over, but again there are several nearby restaurants with a range of food options. I felt comfortable saying here and would do so again.

Good restaurants and supermarket nearby. Despite an email from the hotel telling me otherwise, the restaurant and bar are closed except breakfast.

Whoever is on duty in the morning needs firing !!@@ just had to open the doors myself, noone on the desk and was going to miss my taxi to the airport . yes 5am but still not on !!!!! disgusting !!!!
I knocked on every door desperately trying to get attention. Finally went round the counter and ooened the security doors with the keys if I broke the door I dont care!!! I nearly missed my flight because of this !!! Disgusting good job i didnt need a taxi from you !!
Clearly someone was asleep or worse !!
If there was an emergency what would someone do ???

The hotel was fine for our purposes. We only picked it because it was close to the airport and we had an early flight. The room was clean with a renovated bathroom. There was a water kettle with some tea bags and instant coffee packs next to it. The cab ride to the airport was about 6 minutes for 13 euros. The hotel is very close to an U-bahn as well as Bus 123, which goes all the way to the Hauptbanhhof.

I would suggest update the very low beds.
Mattresses are not comfortable to rest.
The shower is very uncomfortable since it's only half covered so water can go all over and it's a weird thing its like a high tub..! very unsafe for old people or unbearable for tall guys like my husband. The subway is near and a supermarket. Not many restaurants nearby (like 3 Italians, and 2 mid eastern)

Perfect Hotel for Early Airport flights

Stayed here as I had trained in from Copenhagen and had early 8am flight out of Berlin the next morning. The train is literally outside the hotel, and only 2 stops to the connecting bus, which was only 6 minutes to the airport - the driver was nice enough to let me travel for free as it was only 2 stops away. Hotel is super clean and comfortable. English speaking staff.. I think if you were in town to experience more of Berlin, this might be a little out of the way, buy as I discussed, I chose this hotel for easy early morning access to Tegel airport. Was great!

Did not start well as the taxi driver took us from the local train station to the ' other' Mercure. £40 and an hour later we checked in. This is because it is not located on the tour guide maps.
Gentleman on night duty was excellent. Jana was excellent rest were not too bothered.£19.00 each for breakfast. No cups in room for coffee or tea. Soft beds. Was a good stopgap but about 40 minutes away from centre which meant we spent a lot of time on the trains. Train system excellent. Would I stay here again? Not this Mecure.

We arrived early from Vienna, having taken a night train. The reception staff couldn't find our reservation through hotels.com but kindly just sorted it out for us as we were tired and wet. They even let us check in at 12 Noon rather than the scheduled 3pm. The guy on the reception desk saw that we had a child and arranged for us to have a room with a sofa bed which was an added bonus all for the pre-booked price which was very reasonable anyway. The Mercure is right next to a train stop as well so we just left the hotel and hopped onto the train into Berlin centre. The bed and pillow particularly was very comfy, had a really good night's sleep/

The room was small but had an extra bed and we put the mattress of that bed on the floor for our 2 year old as she is prone to falling from the bed. It made our nights very comfortable as otherwise we would have had to have her on our bed. The breakfast and air conditioning was good. The staff was extremely helpful. However the location isn't that great and it takes about 45 minutes to get to central Berlin. The hotel wifi was flaky by the pool.

Clean, accommodating, proximal to airport. Staff supported taxi service, posting to outgoing on departure. THe room was clean, the toiletries sufficient for a 1-night stay, and available neighborhood options to dining, post office, and evening walking were delightful. For a short stay for two people (couple) it was ideal.

Disappointing Experience

I'm currently traveling around Europe and my stay in Berlin was going to be my most expensive during this whole trip. I accepted that because of my schedule, and found out there was a convention in the city that brought in 150k people. Anyways, when I checked into my room, the counter attendant notified me the rate included breakfast. When I checked out, they charged me for each day of breakfast and it was included in my reservation. I told them that at the time of the check in I was told breakfast was included, but the manager said I still had to pay. Breakfast was 18 Euros a day, so the bill be was pretty high. I was very disappointed, the Berlin trip was already the most expensive city on my trip and now it was made worse because of the error made my the attendant at the time of my check-in. I'm traveling on a budget and this was salt in the wound. It tainted my whole experience in Berlin. I don't plan to ever book a hotel with Mercure again.
I gave my rating a 2.
Lost a point because the hotel was far outside the city, you will need to transfer at least 2 trains to get to downtown to see Brandenburg Gate and the Reichstag. Takes about 40 mins.
Lost another point because of the breakfast fiasco.
Lost another point because when I filed a complain, they told me they were going to respond in 2 days. It's been 7 and nothing. I don't like their customer service and complaint resolution. They're in the hospitality business so I thought they would be responsive.

The good:
The room was clean, the bathroom is nice, and the location was suitable for my business needs (also right next to a metro station if you need it).
The bad:
The pillows were terrible and gave me a neck pain. On the second morning there was no hot water for a shower. The A/C was weak (not worm enough as it was cold outside).

Quick airport overnight

We arrived later in the evening to stay overnight before a very early flight. The hotel was right outside the train system exit which was fantastic. The staff were friendly and efficient, arranged a cab for myself first thing in the morning, a wake up call and let my boyfriend sleep in with out bothering him after I left. It was a nice one night stay.

Good location for UBahn

Stayed 4 nights and found this hotel very convenient. I was able to travel on UBahn to Spandau and Antiques sector as well as into City Centre.
Hotel was quiet with a good restaurant and bar. Staff were efficient and helpful.
I paid 11 Euro for taxi from Tegel airport but the journey could have been made by bus and UBahn.

Everything was fine but for 2 glitches which stopped from giving an overall excellent rating. Checkout took far too long -around 20 minutes - not because of long queues but the system was slow or the operator was unfamiliar with it. Breakfast was fine, but if not included with your booking - you will be kept waiting until a chit is brought for you to sign. These are very minor details which Management can easily tackle. I loved the hotel in general so I hope my criticism is considered constructive

Clean nice hotel. Great location!
Easy to take subway to city and then within 10 minutes to airport. We had been on a cruise and were flying out the next morning. Perfect! If spending time in Berlin is stay in east Berlin.
