The room service is the best! They do your room every day, towels replaced daily, they perfectly clean your room and do your bed daily, this is awesome! There are plenty of activities and attractions inside the hotel, it is also well located, closed to the sea and near of markets and small shopping locations. It is also ALL INCLUSIVE, so you don't need to spend money on anything else but your vacation activities. The only thing that can be improved is the food, in my opinion, the food is average compared to other competitors, however, our overall experience despite the food, is excellent and will definitely coming back! Thank you!!!

DO NOT GO HERE!

This hotel looks good in the pictures but is very different in reality. The hotel is 20 years old and in serious need of repairs. I don't mean refurbishment just to update and make it look nice, I mean it needs *repairs\".

My wife and I checked out early from our 10 days package deal because of the atrocious rooms:

- Dirty bathtub with yellow/black water filling the tub
- The water would not drain properly from the tub so that you end up bathing in your own dirt. Same prooblem even when we changed rooms
- Fridge not working (this was fixed)
- Loose headboard above the bed so that everytime you leant back in the bed you felt like the headboard may come crashing down
- DANGEROUSLY loose power socket in wall. Everytime we unplugged something from that socket the actual socket cover would come off exposing the electrics behind the socket. Extremely dangerous! Thank god we don't have kids.
- Creaking lifts and slow to open doors. Floor display panel in lift broken and almost falling down.

I have videos of most of the above and used it to get my money back.

The staff are nice and try to be as helpful as they can but what can they do when the hotel is falling apart? They try their best.

The food is middling, sometimes it's good, other times it's bland and not very interesting.

The pools look to be in good condition and the spa is good. But I would not go here for free and neither should you.

The Bahia Principe Sunlight was an incredible place. Stayed there for 9 nights and it exceeded expectations. The staff were very lovely and friendly. The food and drink was abundant beyond comprehension! And there was awesome live entertainment everyday and night! Will be staying here again in a couple years time!

Very very good property for families with children. It just works. Lots of variety in spaces, plenty of room, dining options very good, nothing here is spectacular, aside from maybe the ocean side view and the evening view right down the property when it’s all lit up. It’s peaceful and comfortable, and your kids will love it.

The Hotel amenities were superb. The room was clean, and they kept it clean every day. The all inclusive is good, but the variety of food could be better.

A massive shout out for Erica and Yolanda from the club kids who entertained our little one the whole time and have great spirit! Thanks for everything girls <3

\"I was really disappointed with my stay at this hotel. The room was in poor condition, with wall lights hanging off the walls, and the interior felt outdated and neglected.
Although the cleaners did come in daily and provided fresh bottles of water, the overall experience didn't feel up to standard. There's also a safe in the room, but you're required to rent a key from reception. If you don't, the hotel won't take responsibility for anything that goes missing. It left me feeling uncomfortable and uneasy during my stay. I wouldn't recommend this place
-it just wasn't worth the price.\"
If you want a lie in past 7.45am this is not possible due to the cleaners being extremely noisy. I totally understand that they have a job to do but this could also be done respectfully by not shouting down corridors.

The food was extremely substandard and I’ll be glad to get home to have some home cooked food.

There is nothing luxurious or gourmet about the place, but it is competent, clean, and a fine place for a family. The cleaning staff is surprisingly friendly and good natured. There are a few annoying quirks, like a cold “adults only” hot tub no adult wanted to sit in, terrible shower pressure, and the abandoned lot next doors is a squatter’s encampment.

I would give it more stars but it markets itself as a high end property. It’s not. But as a place to take your kids and feed them without worrying about cooking, it’s a very nice place.

Friendly staff and nice facilities for a family holiday. Hotel is tired and a bit run down in places. In particular my room (may not be same in all rooms) was very tired looking with grime and mold in the shower and general poor finishes. Worst of all, one of the floor tiles was broken causing a nasty cut to my foot on last night.

Outside of the room, the hotel is a nice venue for a family holiday if you are happy to spend most of your time in the hotel complex as it is a little out of the tourist center. Food was nice and lots of entertainment for families

The food is terrible, there are zero options for vegan people and what could be and should be in terms of recipes is tainted by non existent recipe control. I’ve been a professional in the food and nutrition industry for over 25 years and I was appalled by the lack of consideration and complete disregard for people’s health and overall nutritional needs. The food ingredient cards are nonsensical as there is no chart that explains what each image represents and some just showcase a full array of images (cartoonish) which would mean that they simply threw anything they had left over from previous days into the mix.The staff were all nice but completely clueless in terms of what they were serving, they even argued that the arrabbiata sauce should have fish in it…..I wasn’t there to impart a cooking lesson nor train the staff, I was there as a guest with my family and we found it extremely difficult to eat every single meal.

I arrived with my family as 2 adults and 1 child. We asked to upgrade to a room with 2 adults and 2 children’s. Plus they had a promotion on site that one child is for free. They end up throwing us to another complex and location which is Bahia Tenerife which is old and unsafe. The cleaners once cleaned our room open the balcony door and once left - she left it open. As we were on ground floor this made our stay unsafe and allow other people to get entrance to our room and belonging. They over charged us for the upgrade of the room. As they charged £500 for 5 nights stay. Even though they clearly had the promotion. The entertainment is repetitive and gets boring easily. We found it extremely rude that they threw us to the other complex. Which is clearly cheaper and not as nice while charging us full price as we are at the Bahia Costa Adeje one. So beside being unable to keep up our room safety and kept on having a balcony door open as cleaner just left it wide open. We were extremely upset to get over charged and to have be relocated to the cheap location. The whole package is not worthy. As we got extremely worried for our safety and for getting over charged as they allow themselves to take advantage of tourist. The manager David who was “looking after us “ was told that his name will come on the review as someone who is taking advantage of tourist while clearly on the website it was cheaper by far. Unacceptable!!

All the room amenities are dated and old. Need to upgrade everything from shower to bed to pillows to TV. Outside property is in great shape. Staff front desk needs English training and how to be polite and gentle with guests. Learn to smile.

The hotel was fine regarding facilities, possibly slightly better access for disabled or elderly people. Didn't like the fact that as soon as you left the hotel grounds there was absolutely nothing regarding shops or offsite amenities, I also noticed that every residential property nearby was fully alarmed, there was a couple of shanty type set ups and a few burned-out vehicles close to hotel which made me a bit nervous about wandering to far after darkness.

The food was very exquisite from the first day, they have a lot of variety and options for each person, at every hour of the day that you feel like something to eat.

The attention of each one of the members of the staff 5 stars excellent service.

The only negative thing about the hotel is that they want to charge you 8 euros a day to park your car, it doesn't seem fair to me when you're a customer, I think you should already have the right to park your car at no additional cost.

They should also have the option for lunch, snacks and dinner to have tea in restaurants, to be able to have tea you must go to the bar and it doesn't seem fair to me because if you want to eat dessert with your uncle they don't allow you take dessert out of restaurants.

We will happily return to Bahia Principe again without a doubt.

We were coming from US and I have been in many Mexican and DR resorts before, this one so far the best!
What I really like is how easy was checking and checkout, the room cleaning was on top, cleaning lady found the window where we were on breakfast or lunch to clean the room, if you will compare with the Mexican resort then in Mexico if you were in the room during cleaning then your room this day will never be cleaned!

Also this was the first resort where we had set up the room from the beginning and I never called to remind to bring anything, we came to the room the crib was already there, the sofa bed was ready for our 7yo.

Food: breakfast options limited but lunch and dinner was pretty good. A lot of seafood which we really like! I also like that the food wasn’t over processing.

I would say this was the first resort where I like everything.

I wish Tenerife can have a beach with white sand close to the hotel but its different story lol

Another fantastic stay. Hotel is huge & we traveled in the school holidays but they cope with the numbers with ease. Plenty of space for everyone to hang out. Buffet restaurants excellent being shown to tables & waiter service for drinks makes it feel more like dining out. A La Carte restaurants included too we really enjoyed the Italian & Asian. Live music every night on the terrace. Help yourself to local spirits & mixers kept queues down. Staff always smiling & helpful. Booked a junior suite & were upgraded to sea view overlooking the infinity pool. Plenty of room for 2 adults & 2 children. Hotel is set on a hill but you can access everything with lifts the trick is to find out early how to do that otherwise there’s lots of steps & steep hill to get to restaurants & bar. Will be back

Beautiful property, buffet food was mediocre. Entertainment was almost non-existent. Property should be advertised as a vacation place for senior citizens! It is definitely missing the spicy and happy Spanish vibes .. even the Spanish music was non existent. Definitely instead of bringing Manchester and its boringness to Tenerife, the hotel needs to stay truthful to the Latin flavors of Tenerife. Food, ambiance, entertainment were extremely unrooted of what Spanish/Latin flavors are. This place is more like a retirement place. Definitely nothing compares to the Bahia’s from Cancun and Dominican Republic. I will not recommend this hotel to someone younger than 60! And definitely not for someone who wants to know what Tenerife is about since it’s culture and traditions aren’t represented at this Bahia Hotel !

Not Vegetarian / Vegan Friendly

Although the hotel was nice and we did enjoy our stay overall, there were a few things which could have been better:

We requested a king bed instead of the 3x single beds. They said that would be fine. What we got was 2x single beds pushed together but still separate.

The TV was not working properly as the signal kept going.
You need to pay extra to use the safe

The beds are firm and I did not like the pillows.

Disappointed to find a lack of food choice if your a vegetarian in the buffet and the restaurants. Its also hard to tell if something is vegetarian or not (no Veg / Vegan sign).

If your eating In the buffet restaurant, they seat you pretty quickly and ask what drinks you want. Its pretty hard to get hold of anyone if you want more drinks. Also beware, if you both go to get your desert at the same time, you may find your table taken by someone else by the time you come back!

Also care was not taken to keep veg / meat utensils separate. So definitely not a vegetarian / vegan friendly place.

There were a lot of families at the resort and it was quite noicey.

They had good entertainment in the evening. The pools were nice and we generally liked the ‘village’.

Our room was at the end of the resort so there was a fair bit to walk (uphill) so not really suitable for someone with disabilities.

The internet was not good (unless you upgrade). The room had 3 plugs but only one worked properly.

A lovely hotel a bit short on staff ...

A great stay.
My only niggle is that i thougjt the restaurants were understaffed about 30% . Likely they are ramping up after COVID19 but it meant the staff left were overworked and through no fault of their own that created a poorer service 'on occasions' ie. Serving drinks to the tae.

Overall I would definitely return , a lovely hotel, goid foid and drinks and the staff were great.

I stayed for 3 days on my own and had a fab time. The hotel and grounds are lovely. Especially enjoyed lazing by the pool next to the sea. Although the pool bar music was a bit weird with jazz versions of songs such as there’s rat in the kitchen, and Mr Brightside.

Service was great; food was good but evening meals could have been a bit more exciting - but I arrived too late to book the a la carte restaurants. I did get a meal at the Mexican but it wasn’t great.

Still overall lovely hotel and I enjoyed my stay.

Family friendly resort. Staff friendly and cleanliness excellent. Buffet good for breakfast and lunch, but evening meals a bit hit and miss. Trying to cater for all tastes but some of the food falls short. Book immediately upon arrival for on site restaurants and free bus service from hotel to Playa America’s and they are very busy. Sprawling resort so if you have mobility needs suggest you contact hotel direct to discuss options. Infinity pool not heated, but main central pool is, but busy with children and water games.
Evening entertainment on stage was amateurish. Different Duo playing each evening on the terrace were ok.
Chilly in the evenings during our stay so recommend wrap or light cardigan.

Because of the sandstorm after a week stay pools and surrounding areas not usable for much of stay. Largest pool still not open when we left. Rooms are tatty and need renovation. Food was a bit repetitive and overcooked. Drinks watered down. The staff were very friendly. We didn’t realise the hotel was in the middle of nowhere and outside felt unsafe due to homeless drunks

This property was nice. There was only one heated pool which was often full and they had other pools unused because they were not heated. We had a king size bed and the mattress was awful, very hard and uncomfortable. The food at the Al la cartes was very good. The buffet food was mediocre being that it was usually cold, and not fresh. The amenities were nice and staff were pleasant.

Good resort. It is very big. If you have people with mobility issues or disabilities, request a room closer to the restaurant. The staff are all very nice. They do not offer room service so you have to go to the restaurant to get your meal. Upon check in they are very brief. You have to rely on the hotel map in order to get around. The hotel room numbering is awful as the hotel is on an island full of mountain rock therefore the slope is evident in the room numbers. We had a good trip with some minor snags as mentioned above.

We have two young children and this was the first time we’ve done an all inclusive holiday. We really enjoyed it and would do it again. I thought the hotel was great-really clean, really nicely landscaped and super places for a drink/coffee with a view. The staff were really helpful and friendly and kind to the kids-for example we asked for some milk for the kids on the first night and they gave us a bottle of it to keep in the fridge in our room. Heated pool was also excellent for kids with lots of shallow stepped areas for them to play. It was warm enough and big enough and it didn’t matter that the other pools were a bit too cold to swim in in February. The food was pretty good-excellent salads, lots of variety, better than I was expecting. My only criticism would be that there was a small playground by the pool fine for our one and two year olds but hotel would really benefit from a bigger playground with swings etc for slightly older kids. Junior suite was plenty big enough for the four of us. Overall we had a great time.

Enough sun loungers for all, 3 lovely pool areas (although only one was warm enough to swim in)
The food is good and the service in the buffet and other restaurants is excellent.
The night time entertainment was good, some nights better than others, but overall excellent.
The staff are mostly friendly and helpful and even the less friendly ones are not unpleasant, just more reserved.
We only had two small dislikes ( very small and unimportant) we like to use our balcony and the view wasn’t the best and it rarely got any sun, as I said, not really a problem as such. The other little niggle for me was the shower curtain was too short and try as we might, we couldn’t help soaking the bathroom floor. As I said, just small things.
Overall a lovely hotel which we would definitely recommend.

Absolutely outstanding!

Our stay was amazing, the hotel & resort it actually spotless, and I can be really fussy.. it was highest of standards, the food was so accommodating, different selections, to healthy, caviar & champagne at breakfast to full English & continental.. caters for all! It really is what you see in the photos! The staff are so helpful on reception especially the lady Alexandra on reception (I think that’s her name) dark haired lady very welcoming & will go that extra mile for you! We will definitely be returning! The only ting thing was, I LOVE tea! My partner drinks coffee & he had a large coffee every morning brought to him & I had a very small pot of tea so felt a bit of a pain keep asking for more tea that comes in a small pot. Nothing on the grand scheme of things but ask for a large if you are totally typically Lancashire like me!

This hotel was just ok; the staff, while they were all very nice, seem so overwhelmed and busy that they don't take the time to explain anything to you at check in or at all; we had to go back to the desk so many times for things, I can't keep count. They also hardly spoke english so that was a little rough. You need a deposit for everything, iron, safe, towels. etc. The buffet and restaurants were good, but I did see one roach too many. I went to the salon to get my hair done, got charged twice, only to find out that they do not know how to style hair but wanted to try anyway. So after 30 min of horror, I told her to stop and they refunded me back. The cleaning crew starts very early in the morning and make no attempt to be quiet so good luck trying to sleep in. The beds are hard as rocks and even though we put our do not disturb on the door, they came in anyway and took the iron we put the deposit on. The pools are awesome but not heated. There is nothing to do outside the hotel, but they do have a daily bus that will take you a beach and touristy area. You can also set up excursions right at the hotel, but be wary; they open at 5 but I guess that is just a suggested time as we waited until 6 and no one showed up. All in all, I would not go back to this particular Bahia; I have been to many others and this was my least favorite.

Overall poor experience at this resort. We stayed for 5 nights with the all inclusive option.
The resort has cockroaches everywhere even in the main buffet area for which the staff take no notice and carry on as normal. It is clear they don't have a clear fumigation plan otherwise they would not be in the area where people eat! I understand they are common in tenerife however they should be able to keep them away from the important areas serving food. Although i did not see many in the other communal areas - only where they served food which highlights poor hygiene..
We were also disappointed with the quality of food. It was generally repetitive and food was almost always cold even though stored under the heater to keep it warm. They seem to favour the cheaper meats in particular pork and beef and there was no sign of lamb ( i wonder why!) and even the chicken dishes are rare.
Therefore based on food and cleanliness of the place would not recommend to anyone.

Lovely spacious gardens which were nice to walk around in/take photos. All inclusive meant a wide choice of food and the option to eat in 2 out of 4 of the other restaurants. The rodizio one being excellent. Would recommend a visit!

I liked that the hotel was clean rooms was always kept in a good condition and staff was help full.
What I dislike was it not suitable for people with disabilities stairs going down to the lower levels is hazardous and dangerous without the use of hand rails. the picture shown on the left you can't reach it without going up steps if your in a wheel chair forget it. Even though the I told the Expedia agent I have mobility issues it fell on deaf ears.
The only way to reach the lower levels is if the carts was not in use.
This is not what I agreed to

We have just returned from spending a week at the Sunlight Bahia Tenerife. We stayed in a Junior Suite which was spotlessly clean, spacious with excellent amenities including over a dozen british TV channels, comfortable large bed, daily housekeeping and a mini bar stocked with water, soft drinks and san miguel which was all included in the all inclusive option.

The swimming pool and gardens are spotlessly clean and very well kept and the pool side bar was brilliant with serve yourself taps for beer, sangria, wine, soft drinks, coffee and tea. It was also a real bonus that one side of the pool was heated.

The speciality restaurants were excellent we tried the Mexican, Italian and Brazilian the food was to a very high standard and the choice and quality as with the buffet restaurant was excellent.

All the staff we dealt with were friendly, efficient and professional and where obviously highly trained in customer service.

I have travelled extensively all round the world and I can honestly say this has been one of the best hotels I have stayed in, I would like to thanks the Sunlight Bahia Tenerife for the work that goes in to making the hotel such a lovely place to holiday. I stayed with my parents and my partner and we all had the most wonderful time and can't wait to return.
