Spacious, comfortable villa. Friendly staff. Secluded/private villa. Good breakfast.
Quite far from anything, so you ideally need a car or use taxis. Even the nearest beach is a 30 min walk down a steep hill (and a 40 mins walk back up a steep hill!). Good parking though. Overall, very nice.

Fabulous stay. Luxurious and totally chill resort. Quiet. Private. Friendly and professional service. Outstanding mountain view from the top level Infiniti pool. Immaculate landscaping throughout the resort. Large and nicely decorated villas. Food ok but could be improved.

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon and I couldn't have made a better choice to surprise her with. From the service, far, above and beyond my expectations to the sheer beauty of the hotel itself, the unique setup of the villa's which are perfectly adorned and decorated very romantically, the private pool that connects to the river is so unique and it was one of our favourite parts. The restaurants and the food in general was incredible, very high-end and LUXURIOUS, that was the overall feeling. The value of the entire stay was once again above and beyond what I had ever expected. The hotel is also perfectly located, close to all of the major attractions but secluded enough to feel exclusive. Can't thank the staff enough for making our stay feel special.

We’ve just returned from a 5 night stay in what can only be described as an “utter paradise.” From the moment we stepped out of the taxi until the moment we got back in the taxi to go home was sublime. We had a river villa….the website does not show it as it really is. It was just out of this world. The bed was so comfortable, the bathroom and shower were excellent and the outdoor space and roof terrace were amazing…..the pool and the river access were an even bigger bonus. We only ate in the restaurant one night but that was 10 oout of 10. The quality of the food and restaurant was amazing. The breakfast selection and setting combined with the ever friendly staff was fantastic. There is no doubt whatsoever we will be back. Thank you so much Royal River.

This could easily be the nicest hotel I’ve had the pleasure of staying in. We stayed in their sister hotel, Royal Gardens, two years ago and were allowed to use the facilities here. Ever since then, I’ve wanted to come back and stay, and it didn’t disappoint. The whole ambience is the biggest selling point, so peaceful and green with incredible facilities. The river villas with swim up private pool are excellent. Staff were very friendly, great food options and plenty of space around the two pools so it never feels crowded

Royal River is a real treat.
Beautiful villas and excellent service from all the staff.
Very private.
La Caleta is (steep) downhill walk to additional restaurants. Taxis are fairly easy to come by for your return if you don’t fancy the walk back (approx€5)

Exceptional from start to end. The hotel itself is stunning, has a real feel of luxury yet in a very relaxing and chilled out setting. The staff are all extremely friendly and welcoming and the villas are beautifully furnished and a great size. Couldn’t recommend this hotel enough.

Incredible hotel on the whole. All done to a very high standard. We stayed in a river villa, which I would highly recommend. The rooms are incredible.
Service on some occasions was slow, and things were forgotten, but generally very good. Staff were all friendly.
Good food, although the opening days of the various restaurants is odd, as if you’re not a fan of French or Asian tasting menus you’re only left with 2 options.

The location isn’t ideal (only in as far as there’s no opportunity to walk to the beach), but if you’re looking for a hotel getaway and you can rent a car, it’s fantastic.

Overall, 9/10.

This must be the best hotel in the Canaries !

This is very definitely a five star hotel . The pool villa that we had was superb in terms of comfort, space, privacy and amenities . The hotel itself is beautifully designed and is an oasis of lush and green planting - a welcome haven after the more concrete areas that form much of the island. Swimming in the rivers adds an extra level to the other beautiful pools that available to guests. Staff are amazing with huge smiles and friendly and efficient service. Food is excellent, with an especially superb breakfast. This has to be the best hotel on the island and is fully deserving of all its awards . If you want luxury, relaxation, great food and service, this hotel is for you .

5 star can be applied fairly broadly sometimes but Royal River is absolutely top class. We were pleasantly surprised by how large our villa was (three rooms - living room, bedroom and very large bathroom and dressing room). The private patio had two nice day beds next to your own pool and there was also a small private roof terrace which got the sun most of the day. The small pool joins a \"river\" which you can swim along. Surrounded by foliage it is a really unique feature. One of the two rivers also has a hot tub at the end.

The hotel itself has two pools. The larger is on the lower level and is very pleasant and a little more shaded. The other is a small infinity pool on the roof terrace with great views out to the mountains. Both have poolside bars.

The facilities are all excellent, very new and very well kept / clean. The spa is nice and relaxed and my wife and I enjoyed massages there. There is also a small gymnasium which is slightly limited but well kept.

It is the staff that make the hotel however. Everyone we dealt with was incredibly helpful, polite and ultra-responsive and they couldn't do enough for you. From reception to the restaurants and bars and even the maintenance team who all greeted me when I saw them on my way out for early morning runs. A special mention for Marina in the spa who was always on hand with a glass of cava and a smile. Rafa was also very helpful.

We loved the peaceful, adults only vibe and would highly recommend Royal River.

An absolute dream. It was a shame we had to leave. Everything from the design and layout of the property, the decorations, the staff and the comfort of it all was amazing. It was like being in paradise for my vacation. The rooms were comfortable and clean. We opted for the two bedroom river villa. The pictures don’t do it justice. We even had our own solarium upstairs. It always felt like we had plenty of privacy and the only time I noticed other guests were in passing on the property and on the terrace during breakfast. No request was too much. The wonderful professionals at the hotel made great recommendations on activities and told us about the area. They were so outgoing. When we arrived, we were welcomed like we had been there before although it was our first time. I know everyone’s experience is probably different but, we were more than amazed with everything! So grateful to have spent time here. Although it’s a bit pricey, the ambience of comfort was more than worth it.

I 10/10 recommend this hotel. The property was aesthetically pleasing. The staff was amazing, very friendly, very helpful, and very knowledgeable about the island and all it has to offer. The free breakfast option had so much variety. We took advantage of the spa services, and we absolutely loved it. The spa is extremely beautiful, and the staff in the spa was very friendly, this was one of my best massages on vacation yet! Although the hotel was pricey at booking, the food, spa services, and other services were pretty affordable. I’d like to especially shout out Hugo from reception who made our stay exceptional. We’re planning to go back in the near future. I have stayed at many luxury hotels, and usually we inquire some snotty staff, this experience was the complete opposite.

Simply sublime!

Hands-down the most luxurious hotel we've stayed in on the island. At first, I was a bit skeptical about being further away from the beach than I would like; but, once we've checked into our villa with a warm private pool plunge we never wanted to leave the hotel. Still, El Duque beach is just a quick 5mins or so taxi ride away. The villa is quite large, and decorated to an exceptionally high standard. Dinner time at the Hotel Top Restaurant with a great view onto Costa Adeje is priceless. The staff we've interacted with were both friendly and professional. I would highly recommend a stay in this hotel, especially if on a romantic getaway as we were.

Suites (that they call Villas) are very spacious. The personal pool/canal is great fun. Good private space.

Spa was fully booked all week with no availability.
They claim to have four restaurants but in reality there is one option for 5 nights and bizarre alternatives on two nights of the week. Only one bar open in the evening.

Complaints to management were ignored.

Overall a good hotel but avoid the half board option and don't expect any consideration from the management. More four star than five.

This hotel is incredible luxury. Very clean. Spacious. Lovely staff. Helpful. Friendly. Terraces are amazing. Didn’t get out on it much as weather wasn’t great for my time there but this will be wonderful when weather heats up. Spa is amazing. Food is excellent. Hotel is a bit further out from the main area. It is adult only however I did see a screaming toddler in reception one day & never could understand why as there should be no exceptions if it’s sold as adult only. I know the sister/family hotel is not far away but I was still surprised to see this. Did not see kids anywhere else tho. Exquisite hotel

Well what can we say.
This was by far the best most opulent and wonderful hotel we have had the pleasure in staying.
From the moment you walk in to the personal service you get to walk you round the facilities. Amazing personal touch.
Our stay was for my wife’s 50th birthday and we had a river room, omg the photos do not do the rooms enough justice, the wow factor is off the charts with absolutely every little detail thought of.
My wife was stunned into silence and tears with the flowers, balloons and bubbly that was decorating our room on arrival. Thank you so much for this exceptional surprise.
Every where you look the more you appreciate the hard work all the staff put into making this hotel wonderful from the cocktails they make to the sublime food they serve at there restaurants.

This was a truly memorable experience for us and one we won’t forget.
A big shout out to all your wonderful and amazing staff and for us the best hotel by a million miles to stay at and we have traveled the world to many exotic places.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.

If you are thinking of booking this hotel just do it, you will not be disappointed.
