This is the third time we have stayed in the Anthelia. The hotel is really lovely in a great position in Costa Adeje. The facilities are superb the food is excellent and all the staff are friendly and helpful. There is easy access to the walkway which can take you on a scenic route to La Caleta, a lovely fishing village. This is a wonderful hotel.

It was absolutely amazing. We came for a child free 5 night holiday which we loved so much we decided not to come home! The grandparents brought the kids out and we stayed an extra 4 days! You will not regret a single moment of booking this hotel! We come to Tenerife every year for our child free break and will always stay in this hotel.

1 Star Review: Unsafe and Outdated Hotel

I recently stayed at this hotel, and it was a deeply disappointing and concerning experience. Here’s why:

The lift was broken, which made getting around the hotel extremely inconvenient.

The fountain in the reception area was also broken, giving the entire lobby a neglected feel.

Towels provided were threadbare, far from the quality expected.

Incredibly concerning, there were missing glass panels (3x1 meters) near the main pool, leaving a 10-meter drop exposed—a major safety hazard.

The carpets throughout the hotel are at least 20 years old, with what appeared to be black stains resembling blood.

Water machines, which should be clean and inviting, were instead covered in dust and grime.

Rusted railings in corridors overlooking 20-meter drops made the entire building feel dangerous.

The lighting was minimal, adding to the feeling of disrepair and unease.

As a structure, this hotel is a 2-star property at best, and it should be closed immediately for safety reasons and undergo a complete refurbishment.

The only redeeming quality was the staff, who were genuinely kind, helpful, and professional, deserving a 4.5-star rating on their own.

Sadly, the state of the hotel overshadows their efforts. Until serious improvements are made, I cannot recommend this place to anyone.

Best hotel in Adeje with the best shower!

We always enjoy staying at this beautiful hotel. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable. The shower is the best hotel shower we have ever been in! A large, powerful, rain shower head. Pure luxury! The food at the hotel is amazing and varied. The waiters and waitresses are always available and willing to serve you drinks and snacks and always with a smile.

We have been to number of all inclusive hotels and this was the best one we have experienced. The food was excellent (all inclusive) and although the hotel was a little dated it was spotlessly clean. The staff were all friendly and accommodating. We weren’t there with smaller children, but there were fun activities laid in for them in one area of the pool. We were only there 5 days so didnt really do any exertions but there seemed a lot on offer - definitely enough to occupy you for 2 weeks. Sunbed reserving (have to have the towels placed by 8am!) a little annoying but that really was the only minor thing.

Stayed first week of May with my wife and 2 kids under 6 years of age.
Booked and highly recommend the double garden rooms with inter-connecting doors so adults in one room and kids in 2single beds across the divide.
Hotel is gorgeous from the minute you enter and all Staff were excellent all thru the week. Great varieties of food at breakfast each morning. Everything from hot to cold food across 5 different breakfast stations. You will always find something to eat for the kids each morning.
Plenty of seats around the 4 pools on site, no need to be rushing down in the morning to reserve seats. Towels provided by pool staff are fresh, big and fluffy each day you go to the pool. Nice selection of pool drinks and can order food also to your seat as you chill by the water.
The hotel has a separate kids pool also which is an added benefit to keep them occupied for a few hours although it is not very big but still adequate, especially for very young kids.
The great benefit I feel to this hotel is that it is just walking distance to some lovely beaches and the main social scene of Adeje.
You can engage in all that Adeje has to offer but retire to the tranquility of the hotel afterwards without much travel time.
Hotel entertainment provided almost every night as well.
Highly recommend this hotel for a family stay, even with kids very young to older age groups.
15/20 minute drive from Tenerife South airport makes it an appealing destination also.

Wonderful stay at Iberostar Selection Anthelia!

This is a gorgeous hotel which is very well maintained, with a fabulous seafront location. What really stands out though is the staff. They are all really friendly and courteous and nothing is too much trouble for them. From the housekeeping staff, reception, restaurant and bar staff, everyone was so welcoming. They all appeared happy in their work! The rooms were spacious, we had an interconnecting room which was ideal for travel with 2 teenagers. Evening entertainment was excellent. There were always pool beds available, even on busy days. The main pool is seawater so it is cold but we managed to use it . We were all inclusive. The food in the buffet restaurant was excellent and varied. If I had one ‘complaint’ about this hotel, it would be that it is absolutely huge and very spread out, with long walking to get anywhere within the hotel. The elderly or infirm may therefore struggle

Beautiful hotel with every thing that we needed to enjoy our holiday. Lovely pools, one heated, comfortable deck beds and towels provided. Our room a duplex was large with sunny balconies, very comfortable seating areas. bed was a little too firm for me so a topper was provided, slept very well, quiet rooms. All staff were so helpful and friendly. We stayed half board, break fast had a great choice and evening meal the same,so many delicious options to choose from. We had a fantastic stay and couldn’t recommend it more. Our room was incredible, ocean front view, multiple levels with three outdoor areas and a jacuzzi. It was phenomenal. Breakfast is ok, with made to order omelets and host of sweet carbs to choose from. I liked that they had multiple types of milk to choose from for those with different preferences.

The location is sublime. Walking distance from everything you’d ever want to do, beautiful views, close to all the bars and restaurants. Lots of shops around. Was really fantastic. Great staff, super nice, helpful, engaging, multi-lingual, oh and as a bonus this place has an awesome gym. As a frequent traveler, I never know what I’ll find. Didn’t miss a day here. Lots of hills around for running and the gym itself has free weights and I’m talking, a squat rack In addition to dumbbells. Can’t beat it.

This is a lovely hotel which is set in large grounds in a very nice area. Our room was spacious and had a lovely sea view. The pools are excellent as is the quality of the food. The things which let the hotel down for us were the lack of air conditioning in the gym and the ambiance of the buffet restaurant, which really could do with improved lighting and redecorating.

While the rooms were remodeled, the hotel needs an overhaul. Still feels very dated. Not old world or antique, just old. The food was poor, the room never cooled, there was a roach in the room and smashed bugs on the walls. The staff in the gift shop was excellent and Housekeeping very kind, check in was great. Yet this hotel outside of being close to the beach wasnt worth the cost. Better options in the area. I will never ever return.

Please make your long trouser policy clearer.

Two main things which let this hotel down.

1. It is mandatory for gentlemen to wear trousers for dinner which is fine BUT please let us know PRIOR!!!!! to arrival. I enjoy good standards in the evening also and had smart shorts and shirts but was wrong footed by the long trouser policy.

2. I picked up an ear infection from the swimming pool and had to go to the Dr's to get some anti biotic drops.

Upon checking in, my husband mentioned it was his birthday. An hour later, room service delivered a chocolate birthday cake to our room! A great kickoff to a memorable vacation.

So good! It was everything we expected and more! The staff is friendly and helpful, perfect location and great facilities. We loved the food at the buffet (breakfast, lunch and dinner): endless choices, great variety, fresh and delicious. Local and international cuisine. We've traveled all over the world, and this buffet is definitely on my top 3.
My 3 year old daughter had the time of her life in the kids pool and participating in the activities for children led by the AMAZING entertainment team (StarCamp and evening Minidisco and shows). I can't wait to go back.

Cannot give enough high praises about our stay at Iberostar. We only had the pleasure of a long weekend at the property which was far too short. The hotel had so much to offer including the various types of pools to the food and drink options! The all inclusive was a great option, never had to wonder or give a think about what to eat as they had literally everything for everyone.
The staff was so warm and welcoming and the drinks were delightful. We loved spending the evenings enjoying the entertainment that had everything from DJs, to singers even gymnasts!
Also the spa was a wonderful escape and so peaceful. Only compliant is we didn’t have enough time but can’t wait to go back!

Hotel was lovely in a fantastic location. Staff were also very nice and welcoming.

The double rooms are too small if you have a small child and I had to pay for an upgrade which was much better, but made it a very expensive holiday.

There would be no loungers at the pool by 10am with everyone leaving their towels on them, despite none of the loungers being used for large parts of the day. Didn’t really expect this from residents in this level of hotel, and thought it would have been managed better.

Lovely hotel with great amenities and very clean throughout. Spacious rooms with good air con to cool down, great shower and very comfortable beds and pillows. Pool area didn't feel cramped at all, no struggle getting a sun lounger which were so comfy. Water machines around the hotel provided filtered chilled water for free, which was much appreciated in the heat. Great location too, lovely costal path outside the hotel which goes for miles and a host of nice restaurants and bars along the costal path. Downside... I cannot think of anything! 5* hotel with 5* amenities service and location.

We had a lovely stay in this hotel. The rooms, pool area were all very clean and modern. We were all inclusive and the food was of a good standard. The drinks involved in the all inclusive package were really impressive. What made the whole trip extra special were the staff members. The team were all extremely hospitable. Special mention to Eileen and Diana in the pool bar area and Domingo in the Zeus restaurant. For a relaxing holiday we’d thoroughly recommend.

This is the third time already this year we have stayed at The Anthelia. The location is excellent. Surrounded by lots of bars and restaurants yet only a 5 min drive to Caleta and Las Americas. The staff are warm and friendly. Particular mention to Mihaela(not certain of spelling)….she was simply amazing at the big pool bar. We stayed bed and breakfast. Wonderful range of hot and cold food with characterful egg chefs! Pool areas spotless and never an issue getting a sunbed. We are lucky enough to enjoy lots of holidays but there is something magical about this place…

A beautiful hotel, staff were amazing, the location could not be better. The hotel itself is so clean, and the staff are very friendly. The rooms are beautiful and all would have a good view. Grounds are kept beautifully and the pool is beautiful.

Some very, very small issues (not enough to give it less than a 5 star rating) would be
- the cleaners come around very early in the morning to turn over the rooms, may be better for 11/12 when people have left for the day if it would be possible. Now you can just ask to come back later, it is no problem, but just to have a smooth quiet morning.
- there are 2 breakfast slots. You would need to have a towel on a deckchair earlyish to ensure you get one. But you are only supposed to reserve them for 45 minutes. However, if you have the later bfast sitting you would not be back before the 45 mins are up, just a small snag in the system but something to be aware of.

Overall a beautiful holiday in an amazing hotel. There are restaurants immediately out on the promenade, so a perfect location. A great holiday.

This really was a find made even better by the fact I used my Hotels.com rewards for a free week and picked the Anthelia virtually at random. This is a genuine 5* hotel with beautiful architecture that mirrors a Canarian town, so large you feel you could spend a week here without leaving the complex. The grounds and pools are landscaped and so well-maintained there was actually some decent photo opportunities you wouldn't expect in a hotel and there is enough space so that - even though I was there during half-term - it never got noisy or felt crowded. The good news is though when you do leave the complex, the beach and front are just a few hundred metres away and within easy reach of every type of bar, restaurant or amenity you could possibly need as well as a lovely coastline walk. The rooms are large and really lovely, hotel security is excellent and the breakfast was superb. Iberostar has an excellent sustainability policy too so there are many modern amenities to help deliver this. I didn't do all-inclusive, lunch or evening meal as I preferred to go out, and being solo I didn't feel the upgrade suited me. Whatever you decide though you can't go wrong with this superb hotel. I like to visit new places and rarely return to the same place, let alone a hotel but I don't think I'd bother looking elsewhere if I went back to Tenerife again, and I'd also consider the Iberostar chain if one was available in another location too. Faultless!

Great service and location

Our first time at this hotel and it was lovely. There was lots of focus on COVID controls that made the stay feel safe and relaxing. The facilities were good and it was an excellent location with great access to local amenities. The room was comfortable- there was no bath and it was a typical balcony with a roof. The only downside was that the room faced the bar and the entertainment every night was very loud- if I stayed again I would request a room facing away from the lobby. Only one of the pools appeared to be heated and there was no adult only area . We only ate breakfast and there was a great selection. Overall I would recommend the hotel.

Having been to Tenerife several times we’d never stayed at this hotel. The reception staff welcomed us with a nice cold beer!! Always a good start. We were upgraded on arrival and the room was ready early. The breakfast buffet was one of the best we’ve ever experienced including the huge Vegas hotel buffets. The waitress remembered our drinks order which considering the size of the hotel and amount of people i we thought was a really nice personal touch. The pools were magnificent with lots of space to turn your beds to stay in the sun. The sun beds were excellent with beautiful thick cushions. The hotel is big but we soon got our bearings. The location is spot on with everything on your doorstep. We will certainly return. Thanks to all the staff.

lovely stay

Wonderful stay! The staff went out of their way, especially around our little toddler who LOVED the kids pool. Only frustration was the bathroom sinks being inside the room rather than in a contained bathroom - which made things tricky when our toddler was asleep and we were getting ready for bed. We made it work though. Was a fab holiday.

A pleasant stay marred by smokers next door

As a non-smoker, it was disappointing being in a room next door to smokers, who always seemed to be smoking on their balcony at the time that I waanted to sit out. The rooms had sensors that detected if you were in the room, but this didn't work too well in rooms with a single occupant. My lights all went out once when I was in the toilet, and my daughter's lights went out many times when she was in her room, including one occasion when she was in the shower. Staff were friendly, everything was clean, and whilst it seemed a little expensive, I would happily return. Incidentally, hotels.com said we needed to present a negative pcr test at checkin, but this wasn't required so we wasted our money
