Santa Maria 10 Night Stay.

Great location in the heart of Adeje, the one bed apartment was very spacious and cleaned to a high standard with a well equipped kitchenette.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Fully recommended.

Cheap for new years stay but that’s it . No lock on patio door to balcony . Tiled floor in room was uneven and loose tiles . Only one women who checked us in on reception was welcoming , the rest seemed like they didn’t have time for you . WiFi wouldn’t connect and didn’t even have a fan in the room .Didnt try restaurant so can’t comment . Pool area is ok but really small for such a big hotel

Enjoyable stay

We enjoyed our stay and found our room was dated especially the furniture and needed more plug sockets in the lounge area also could do with air conditioning we kept the balcony door and front door open most of the time which helped
Food was very good with many choices I particularly loved the bar bq night
Prices at the bar was reasonable for a hotel
We also got bbc1 bbc2 and itv plus other channels on the TV
We would definitely stay here again

This is a lovely small seaside hotel. It perfect for couples or younger families. It’s perfectly located to access the beach and promenade walks and restaurants. Don’t come to this hotel if you want a raucous holiday. It’s value is because it absolutely isn’t that kind of hotel! Fabulous staff who are really helpful and friendly. It has good facilities including a lovely pool and a good standard of food if doing a catered break.

Santa Maria good price good location good holiday

I loved staying at the Santa Maria it was close to the beach and a lot of really good restaurants close by including the food in the hotel which we stayed half board. The staff were very friendly and very helpful at all times I will stay here again and have stayed several times before. There is plenty of sun beds the pool is well maintained with a pool for the kids. The entertainment team are fantastic keeping the kids and adults happy. There is something on each evening in the bar to suit all tastes and if that dosent suit you don’t have to go far to find what your looking for with a wide range of bars along the street of the hotel making it great if you don’t want to have to walk far. Across the road from the hotel is a hyper Dino for your food etc and also close by there is a stop and shop supermarket with lovely fresh pastries etc all you need between the two of them if your staying on a room only basis.

Overall the hotel
Is good and the accommodation are also very nice.
I’ve been there for a week d and the room I had had only stairs access also with the balcony on the street side which wasn’t that great because of the noises of “happy loud people”. Not that great for kids.
I think the hotel should inform about this inconvenience at the desk.
I don’t think I will

Stronger faster Internet would be much appreciated. Even when I was “ Connected “ to the internet, I still could not access the internet. Our business was delayed back home due to this issue. We have traveled to many other countries and have not had this much difficulty. It is very frustrating.

We booked a studio apartment but were put in a two bed apartment instead. It was a lovely room but needed a bit of upgrading. The kitchen area was dated and units were falling apart and the sofa was very uncomfortable.

Bedroom and bathroom very clean, comfortable bed. Spacious wardrobe and drawers. TV, fridge and kettle in working order. Great balcony with sea view. Great plunge pool. Great choice during breakfast and evening meal. Unfortunately no air-con in bedroom which made resting during the day uncomfortable and difficult to sleep at night.

Good location and clean but very dated

The room size was excellent (seaview studio) with a good size living area, small kitchenette, bathroom and small separate bedroom but this hotel is in serious need of a face-lift.
No air-conditioning and just one small and ineffective portable fan, which didn't stay on when you went out unless you left a key in the \"electric\" switch, meant it was roasting hot all the time and difficult to sleep.
Beds were comfortable, staff were friendly and helpful and the location is excellent - just a 5 min downhill walk to the beach.
The food was much better than expected - great range for breakfast - cereals, fruit, porridge, cold meats and cheeses, hot items (scrambled, fried and boiled eggs, bacon, sausage, pancakes, churros, beans), various breads, rolls and pastries. The coffee was awful but everything else was good. Evening meals also had a very good selection and items were replenished quickly even at very busy times. Bottles of wine only 7euros too.

Having just returned from the Santa Maria I must say that the location is ideal to access the beach, shops,eateries etc.
The hotel was clean and the rooms are as well.
Reception staff were friendly and helpful..
Breakfast was good but dinner buffet was disappointing.

Just returned from a 10 night stay at the Santa Maria, location is excellent for everything you need, in the middle of Fannabe and playa las Americas so everything is on your doorstep.
Although the hotel itself looks a bit tired, for a 3 star hotel it has what you need, pools of which 1 is heated, pool side bar,plenty of sunbeds although if you are the type that requires to be right next to the pool then you do need to get these early. The staff are extremely friendly. The local animation team try their best although the daytime activities do need to be advertised better, mini club disco held every night down in the Irish bar,my little girl aged 7 really enjoyed this. Its great for meeting other families with kids which makes life easier through the day when they have made friends.
The rooms themselves are basic but do have microwave, hob top, and all cutlery. Housekeeping is 5 days a week (non on Thursdays or Sundays)
food is typical of any half board hotel, but we certainly found something to eat from the selections.
Wednesday is BBQ night and this is superb.
You are given a card and any extras you require i.e evening drinks with your meal, drinks by the pool and any snacks from the poolside are on an account system, it is best to pay this every night to keep on top of your spending but we didn't find this a problem.
The Irish bar is pay as you order so this was much easier to keep the eye on the pennies.
no issues in returning back to this hotel in the future.

Nice hotel in a great location

Plenty of sunbeds. Pool is very clean and area is well looked after. Bar prices very reasonable. Room cleaned daily with fresh towels provided. We were half board and felt the breakfast was very good however the evening meal was not as good as our previous stay. Too many fish dishes with the smell overpowering in the restaurant. Would probably just book bed and breakfast next time as lots eating places to choose from at reasonable prices.

3rd time in this resort this hotel is in great area. Food was great loved the barbecue night and champagne breakfast . My only complaint was I had the worst balcony ive ever had in my life I had emailed the hotel and requested one that gets the sun, I got no reply and no sun or view. Luckily my sister was there she had lots of sun and view she had booked well after me . So my advice would be don't have a special request . I would go back to this hotel and perhaps be luckier next time .

We stayed here easter 2017.
The location of the hotel was great, 5 minutes walk to the beach, bars, restaurants and harbour. I would stay in this area again and I don't normally return to the same area.
The hotel room was clean and comfortable, the HUGE balcony on the family room was amazing, overlooking the beach and harbour. You can see both sunrise and sunset from there.
The pool was small for the size of the hotel but had really shallow areas for practising handstands. Inflatables are not allowed, this is because the main pool is small. The sun lounger are pretty uncomfortable but you get used to what you have.
The breakfast is the same as every other hotel I have stayed in, full English and croissants for my family. Evening meal was limited, my daughters aren't fussy eaters but when most food is spiced, there was little choice. We paid for half board but only are there 3 times. It has to be the worst I have had for variety of food, but the food was hot enough and tasty.
3 stars is just right.

Great hotel for relaxing

We had a 3-day break for my 50th birthday without our young children. I picked someone else's bag out of the back of the coach (must be my age) and Louisa on reception was so helpful and sorted it out by ringing the taxi firm so that we had the bag before the evening was out. All the staff were really helpful and friendly, we dealt mostly with Louisa and Carlos and they were fabulous!

The hotel is clean and well run with all facilities as you would expect, no issues with any of the normal requirements.

The pool area was excellent, heated and unheated pools, comfortable sun loungers (but get your towels out early), nice bar. There was entertainment but not cheesy or in your face, the staff gave a demonstration on making the Tenerife salsa. The entertainment staff were excellent overall, really put the effort in.

The food in the restaurant was very good!

Three star hotel.Food has improved since last stay,Rooms still need modernised,getting a bit it dated now.
Reception can be a bit lacking sometimes with information etc.Better traing needed here for personell.
Dining room needs expanding shortage of tables at times,not very nice when your hunting for a table! having said that,their presentation for christmas dinner was outstanding,worthy of a four star hotel,well done for that.
The price would have to be right for me to return.3 stars max.

Have stayed at the Santa Maria more than half a dozen times now- that says something!
It is ideally placed for everything required; it is clean, well maintained and the staff are always friendly. Have stayed in many differing apartments, from studios to two bedrooms - all have been very nice, no issues at all.
Only small bugbear- pool bar closes at 6.00pm, which is around the time people are looking for a 'sundowner' before getting ready for the evening. The only alternative seemed to be the Irish bar- a dark, enclosed place....not good.

Started badly as room wasn't ready when we arrived, despite delayed flight, and when we got the room it was dated in terms of decor and equipment.
However had a balcony with a lovely view.
Short walk from two beaches. Walkable to several more. Lots of bars and restaurants nearby.
Pool area of hotel was nice and a good place to relax.
I don't speak a word of Spanish, hotel staff mostly spoke enough English to help with any queries, like booking of day trips. Food was decent, buffet style with a lot of choice and different options every night.
Despite the room not being the best would, probably recommend for the price.

Lovely hotel, would stay again.

Lovely hotel, very clean and lovely food. Very nice pool , although can get busy.
My only complaint was my room location. Not great view as room was above front entrance, virtually no sun on balcony . Hotel also got bit noisy at night with doors banging etc. Good central location , next to shops and bars, bit of hill down to beach if you like going there.

Average three star hotel

As the saying goes \"you get what you pay for\". The Santa Maria is a three star hotel and that is exactly what it is. Don't expect anything further and you will be fine.

After booking through hotel.com and having a noon check in confirmed we arrived to find our room not ready and the rather lame lie/excuse that the law says it's a 4pm check in in Spain. Honestly.

Our room was on the ground floor and you must avoid these rooms at all costs. We could hear reception and the corridor provided a running track for errant kids from 7.30am. No lazy days for you in these rooms.

Breakfast is reminiscent of your school days and never could be classed an intimate affair, although the fayre on offer was a decent standard with good choices.

The pool was extremely busy and great if you have kids as there were loads of pals for them to find. We managed to locate the solarium on the top of one if the blocks and it was heavenly. Most days we were on our own without the animation teams efforts to stir the pool crew into life. Worth finding this if you like a bit of quiet.

The room, other than location, was fine. Telly to keep up with news on bbc, itv etc. Fridge to keep the beer cool so it was fine.

Would not return to this hotel. Prices are not cheap along this coast, but to get quality you need to pay more than the Santa Maria.

Excellent holiday but hotel disappointing

The hotel was very dated. Would say the apartments haven't been refurbished since the hotel was built. There is no aircinditioning, only a ceiling fan in the bedroom, which made little difference. The balcony/lounge was in full sun all day and was unbearable, we went at Xmas so I would hate to imagine what the room is like in summer. We had brown water coming out of the shower all week despite asking for it to be looked at. We went half board and the food at best was bad....you were lucky if it was luke warm, and not much choice.

Positives... After our second evening meal at the hotel We changed evening meal to lunch (which was worse)and ate out every night. food outside the hotel was cheap, you can get a 3 course meal for €8 even at the beach front cafes. We did have the Christmas gala meal at the hotel which was excellent so not sure why the food was so bad the rest of the time.
The standard of cleaning was excellent and the position of the hotel within the resort (its really in torviscas even though it says its in cota adeje) was good

Quiet area close to beach

I found the rooms quite uncomfortable because there was no air conditioning.The beds were comfortable, bathroom was cleaned daily with clean towels daily. I found most of the staff were quite happy to chat away among them selves and didn't acknowledge that I was there. The food in the dining room was well presented but there was never any hot food, I found what ever time I went in for breakfast or evening meal the food was always cold.

Good value for the price you pay central position. Tired hotel, however food was ok something for everyone. Didn't really have breakfast as not that good but ok and staff in the dinning room very nice and attentative,
Reception staff not so good except for tony, the olde lady needs to learn customer service or at least try to smile and be helpful. I took my own pillow as I have a bad neck, the maid took it and discarded without even asking me, I had to complain to reception, then 2 maids let themselves in to our room, started to pull the sheets and look under the bed and in our wardrobes, then walked out not sorry or goodbye ! The maid then said tomorrow now, here's 2 sheets to sleep on ! I complained again to reception who told me they are still looking , the pillow was eventually found and. Returned after an hour , the point I'm making is its not theirs to take it a form of theft ! The hotel has no life , people all sat in the
Boy because it was free wifi , nothing going on near the pool, there was a sort of entertainment room but again lifeless, the drinks wer expensive only had 1 pint near the pool 3.60 euros in the day time! Go put its on 1 or1.50 in the bars.
Excellent clothes shop in the hotel, beautiful at a good price. Lots of building work on the first day so sitting round the pool was like being on a building site Jack hammers going all day !

The hotel itself is well situated although you do have to go up and down a reasonably steep slope if you venture away from the hotel. Its 5 minutes from the beach and port, with many places to eat and drink close by. It's very clean, the maids do a fantastic job. The male staff on reception are more helpful and friendly than the female. The rooms are adequate, everything you need is in there. The beds are typical of the country, but are on wheels so do move if you walk into them. Sofa is very comfy but could do with a cushion/pillow.
The pool area is very good, loads of sunbeds. Typically many of the best placed ones are taken early on.
The pool bar was really good, the portion sizes were huge, couldn't eat a full pizza or finish off the half chicken, chips and salads. The bar is fully stocked with ice creams, beer, wine, soft drinks, slush, cocktails and hot drinks.
The restaurant gets quite busy but there are posters telling you the quieter times. These were fantastic and very true. Food in my opinion was average. I only ate there twice as the menu choices did not appeal to me. The evening menu is always posted first thing in the morning so gives you plenty of time to decide. There wasn't a children's menu. Waiters were in plenty at night to get drinks for you and these very very reasonably priced.
I would recommend it as a base but try and go self catering, it's really cheap to eat out and there are 2 supermarkets, one that stocks English food within 2 minutes.

Good central location for a short break

Far bigger than we would normally stay in but pleasantly surprised. The rooms were functional with comfy beds, good satellite TV and efficient maid service with self catering if wanted and piping hot water.
Food was much better than expected particularly with the number of people being catered for, a difficult task for any chefs but they did it well.
Staff friendly enough and spoke good English, nice central position near beaches, bars and restaurants.
Only criticisms: 1...room WI fi is expensive, it's free in the the lobby area but was so slow really was a waste of time.
2...Despite signs saying reserving sunbeds with towels was prohibited this was never enforced and the Germans were down each morning before 7:00 doing just that, some were never used all day! Not a major problem as it is a bit sterile and the beaches are so close.
3...The bar area wasn't really that welcoming and not utilised effectively, entertainment there if wanted but not really that good. Better bars in close proximity anyway.

If we were to visit Tenerife again we would most likely stay here again, it's a nice town but they do need to clamp down on the street vendors and the foreign imports which drag it down quite a bit.
The hotel itself is a fair venue for a weeks break.

We received a very friendly reception and the staff were most helpful. Location was good and the meals were well prepared with a great deal of variety.
The one problem was the complete lack of air conditioning in the rooms. Sleeping was difficult as we were told to close balcony doors at night or while not in the room. As a result there was no fresh air or any cooling breeze. This is a big drawback to an otherwise pleasant stay.

Very Pleasant Hotel close to Beach

Wonderful holiday in lovely hotel, all staff very pleasant and friendly. The food was good as vegetarians we had plenty to choose from and although busy buffet was constantly being refilled. It was very close to beautiful beaches. Excellent value for money. The hairdressers/nail salon in the hotel is well worth a visit.

Only downside to our holiday was beach hawkers AVOID DIAMOND (TIMESHARE) REPS AT ALL COSTS after 3 hours pressure became aggressive when we wouldn't pay £3995 and join their club.

We will stay at Hovima hotel again. The Santa Maria met all our needs.

Hotel staff could have been more helpful. It would also have been helpful to know that rooms were not cleaned on Thursdays or Sundays. Other than those things the location and hotel were a good value and convenient to the airport, shopping, and beaches. The food at breakfast and dinner was excellent. Overall a very good experience with just minor downfalls.

Fantastic location

Very sceptical of previous reviews, but found good friendly staff , clean room,booked in for B&B food was excellent and plentiful.The location is ideal close to al amenities for all the family,pool safety was given priority with a lifeguard in attendance at all times.although a family orientated hotel it was not over run with boisterous children, and as such it was a pleasure to watch them enjoy themselves. As both of us are of the older generation we would brecommend this hotel to all age groups and will be coming back again .

Hotel is centrally located, a short walk to the beach. We booked one of the cheapest rooms and it was fine...a bit worn and dated but generally clean and beds were comfortable. The kitchen area was very good. Only suggestion would be that the fridge should be replaced as the door didn't fit as snugly as it should have, so didn't keep things as cold as it should have. The pool area is much smaller than it appears on the web site but not a problem for us as we didn't use it as we went to the beach. Breakfast was well done with good selection and food was constantly topped up.

Good sized room.

We arrived early so our room wasn't ready but we were able to check in and leave our bags in the luggage room; came back after an hour and all was ready.Found all receptionists to be pleasant and helpful, we requested extra pillows and by the time we returned after our evening meal they had been placed in the room. Large room for two, twin beds, table with built in benches, sofa, large flat screen TV, kitchen area with microwave, kettle, toaster, 2 ring hob and fridge - we didn't use any of the kitchen items (except the fridge) as I don't cook on holiday! Beds were comfy, ceiling fan to keep you cool at night, large, clean bathroom with good shower. Safes available in room for 3euro a day. We stayed B&B only; the usual Spanish hotel breakfast with fried eggs, scrambled eggs, frankfurter type sausages, Spanish bacon (shame it's all fat but we were in Spain and that's how they have their bacon), beans, toast, croissants and pastries, cereal, fruit, cheese, yogurt etc so something for just about everyone. Pool area not that big but clean and functional, comfortable sunbeds, didn't use the pool so cannot comment on it. Entertainment every evening but again did not go to this so cannot comment. All in all the Santa Maria was a very nice hotel and I would stay again, only disadvantage is the big hill to climb up to Playa de las Americas but at least it's downhill coming back.

Decent hotel, ideal location

The flat was very nice and comfortable. A couple of bulbs were out when I entered but they have been fixed promptly when I mentioned it to the reception. The terrace with sea view was very pleasant and relaxing and the facilities were quite basic but I wasn't planning to spend much time in anyway so didn't really matter. One of the good points is that the electricity is out only for the lights but still works for the appliances when you are not inside the flat, this means that the fridge keeps cold and you can charge batteries while out. I've been in a few places where ALL the power goes off when you go out so I was very pleased. The downside is that the pool is very noisy with screaming kids etc from morning to evening so forget about some peace on your terrace till night time. Also I didn't have any heating/ air conditioning. I went in the beginning of April when it might be chilly during the night and I was cold a couple of night with no chance of heating. I expect it to be quite hot during the summer though.

Had a great time. Hotel excellent. Pool and all communial areas in excellent condition and well cared for.
Rooms of a good standard, very spacious and clean.
Excellent breakfast which was included in our self-catering holiday.
Near beach but was up a slight hill which did not bother us young oldies.
Closeby to all public amenities, shops, bars, restaurants.
Quiet at night as we did not have any traffic noise.
Excellent all round.
Would recomend to others and would do a re-visit to this hotel.

Nice holiday in Tenerife

I enjoyed the stay at Santa Maria quite well. The room was very clean when I moved in. The layout of the room is different from any others I've stayed in, it is long and narrow instead of a more square design. The bathroom was nice and it had a good kitchenette and dining area, plus a living room section with a balcony overlooking the pool.

The wifi performed to my satisfaction, and this is important to me, especially since there is a surcharge, but it is not expensive.

They have a really good breakfast too (free of charge).

Great location but no air-con

Had a good stay. Had a superior studio and it was big, massiv balcony and Aircondition. Clean and tidy hotel. We was half board. Food was okay. Always something to eat. Chips, pizza, pasta, a stew of some sort, paella, loads of salad stuff, bread, soup. But it was very noisy in the restaurant at dinner so we swapped for lunchtime cause ot was more quiet. Mini disco was in the pool so my 2 year old couldn't join in. Bar prices in the hotel was fair. We would stay again

Godt, og med god mad, - men noget slidt.

Hotellet er godt, men noget slidt. Bl.a. var der hul i emaljen i badekarret, og flere låger der sad løse/skæve. Betjeningen er venlig. Vi havde halvpension, og både morgenmad og aftenbuffet var bedre end forventet, sammenholdt med prisen. Pool området var fint, rent og lækkert, ligesom stranden er fin og tæt på. Parkering var nem og billig. Der var dog en del larm om aftenen, p.g.a. beliggenhed, men det giver også kort afstand til forskellige barer og pubber med underholdning osv.
Generelt vil jeg sige, at det er godt til prisen!

Posizione eccellente, siamo nel centro della movida, locali d’intrattenimento, bar e ristoranti non mancano anche se il servizio di ristorazione dell’hotel offre di tutto a buffet dalla colazione alla cena. Me gustó especialmente , el detalle de felicitar el cumpleaños de mi mujer.
La animación, el bufete y sobre todo el personal del Santa Maria., muy buenos profesionales.
Lo que menos nos ha gustado, es la falta de aire acondicionado, y sobre todo en el baño, la cortina de la ducha , que no tapa nada y el agua se sale de la bañera.
Añadiría , que para la cantidad de habitaciones que tiene , la piscina se hace pequeña.
Somos clientes de Hovima desde hace años , pues durante 4 años seguidos nos alojamos en el Atlantis, son cosas que al final se sobrellevan muy bien.

Вернулись через год опять в Hovima Santa Maria. Проживали в аппартаментах с отдельной спальнейи большой террасой с видом на океан. Номер после хорошего ремонта, мебель удобная, кухня со всем необходимым включая холодильник. Срутниковое ТВ плюс 3 русских канала. Интернет работал в номере.Еда в ресторане вкусная и разнообразная, были и морепродукты и барбекю и шампанское в воскресенье на завтрак. Отель был заполнен, однако проблем с местами не было. Официанты быстро убирают и сервируют столы. Внутренняя территория ухоженная, два бассейна, вода очень мягкая и чистая. Лежаки обновили, места на лежаках тоже были всегда. Персонал от рецепции и до официантов и тех.службы (настраивали русское ТВ) работает быстро с улыбкой, испанцы молодцы ! Спасибо вам за наш беззаботный отдых. Обязательно вернемся через год в нашу Santa Maria.

Hotel muy antiguo,con cortinas en el baño aún,los muebles de los años 70,las peores almohadas que he dormido en mi vida.
Respecto a la comida nada estaba bueno,no tenía sabor,muy poca fruta y lo peor,guardaban comida del día anterior que reutilizaban.nis encontramos un mosquito en las natillas y en la comida del restaurante de la piscina una cucaracha en el suelo.No se lo recomiendo a nadie!!!
