Food Mood

Reception staff - good easy check in and out. Hotel - very big (looks like one of the biggest in the area) there are lifts to get you from floor to floor, but there is quite a lot of walking from place to place. This is big old hotel, very well established and seems to have a number of repeat loyal guests.Bar/ Cleaning/Entertainment Restaurant staff -10/10.The facilities and public spaces are well maintained 9/10. Lots of spots dotted about to relax/read/play games etc.
Hotel corridors 3/10 desperately need refurbishment, dirty looking carpet tiles, damaged skirting boards, paint coming off.(let the hotle down ...looks like a run down 3 star hotel) Bedroom condition 2/10
Like an old poor 3 star hotel.
Not what you would expect when you pay for a 4 star experience. Scuffed floor, paint scuffed, peeling laminate of the units and skirting boards.
We wondered of we had been given a bed room but when I expressed my concerns I was offered 2 other rooms but they were equally as rough and indeed of repair. The condition of our room didn't reflect the 4 star price we paid.

We returned for 5th time after trying other 4 and 5 star hotels in Tenerife . Our 6 year old and 8 year old just loved the heated pool with slides. Food is really lovely and high quality. Fresh juces in the morning and really enjoyable good quality restaurant style dinner. Restaurant staff are just amazing people. Children loved specially the pancake man - food artist making pancake art. Evening entertainment is a hit or miss. The entertainment team could be freed from show perfomance responsibility (they perform their own evening entertainment show 1 time in a week) as it interferes their motivation working for example in kids club etc. and the quality of the show could be more professional. But anyway… a strong recommendation for a lovely holiday.

Excellent hotel.. went with a 7yr old boy who loved the pool areas.. very sad leaving.

The quality of food from breakfast, lunch and dinner was always top class. Went all inclusive and brillant decision.

Bedroom was spotless and cleaned every day..

Staff were always polite and very professional.

The bad bits:
Its a shame as I paid extra for a partial sea view. I could only see the sea from the balcony if I stood up and climbed on the wall as we were the 1st floor and the view was blocked by a platform. Also one night was ruined by a bunch of drunk golfing lads next door (of course the hotel isnt to blame). Due to it being an all inclusive resort, youll inevitably meet these kind of people...
I found the pool area to be designed in a crowded way. The sun loungers are very close to one another. Also despite there being 2 kids pools, the kids overrun the other pool with the pyramid. For improvement, they should attempt to make one pool adults only. Another issue is the lifts. Due to many floors, everyone uses the lifts and so you end up waiting SO LONG all the time to use them and theyre always crowded. Theres 4 main lifts in total which isnt enough for a hotel that accomodated probably 1000 people.

The good bits:
We only had B+B but theres a decent variety for breakfast, inclusing fry ups a d healthy alternatives. Although pick the early slot as its very busy later. The hotel is very clean and the staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. Cannot fault the staff at all. The rooms are cleaned daily to high standards. The gym clean is decent enough but needs more benches!!! One isnt enough! The hotel has good amenities with 3 pools, a games room and also great location. Easy back exit on to the beachfront.

Really lovely hotel with amazing staff and great facilities particularly for the children with an incredible kids pool and kids club. The buffet restaurant had a fantastic range of food with lots of well marked options for dietary requirements such as vegan. Gym was well equipped and there were some nice activities arranged. The evening shows were fantastic.

Great stay

Hotel had amazing sea views and was in a great location on the seafront close to bars and restaurants. There was a great selection at all meal times (we were half board but swapped dinner for lunch one day). Always lots of sun loungers available. Lots going on and the entertainment staff looked like they wanted to be there. The only negatives were the waits for the lifts and the dreadful pillows. We asked for extra pillows 3 times before we got them.

Breakfast was nice however finishes at 10:15, which is to early in my opinion as most other hotels finish breakfast at 11am - we had to order an extra night as was charged over 400euro!! And was accused of not making the payment! Terrible place DO NOT STAY HERE

3 day weekend winter sun break .

The reception desk was very helpful & accommodating as we were meeting friends for a lunchtime get together with friends .
We were able to check in early .
The hotel was clean , the pool area was spacious & the staff were great .
Lots of choice for the all inclusive buffet meals . Good varied all inclusive drink options so in all it was a shame I was only there for 3 nights .

What can I say, had a fab time at this hotel, staff are so pleasant and helpful, rooms and hotel areas very clean, amenities are great, kids clubs, activities for all, 4 pools that suit all ages from toddlers to the over 80s club. Food and drinks were excellent for all inclusive option. Evening entertainment was as expected, not brilliant but not that bad either. Would highly recommend this hotel to all ages without hesitation

I only booked B and B as being by myself wanted to meet people by eating outside and getting to know the area .
The breakfast was excellent ...catered for everyone ..plenty of seating.
Staff excellent in all areas of hotel .
Plenty of sunbeds and umbrellas
Both pools a good size
Big television for sport lovers
Quiet areas avaiable and a
readers area.
Downswere that since i was there the hotel has gone all inclusive and for 5 days we encountered professional yobs ! Golfers who after golf in the morning sat at the pool bar until it closed ...shots ...swearing ...loud ....encroaching on normal peoples holiday .One day there was an incident where they invited a lady into their company and one of them plus her ended up in the pool clothed ....!! Families were in this area !!! I am not a downer but too much for a family hotel !
Bar prices expensive ...1 bacardi and coke 8.40 euros ....opposite 5 euros ....i drank outside the hotel ..if they had been reasonable say 6 i would have drank in the hotel
In the room i had ants on the side table for 4/5 days even after spraying myself and the lovely cleaner spraying .....eventually did disappear .
Balcony very diappointing ..a little triangle and when you sat down you couldnt see over the balcony wall ...so a view was impossible ....quite a few people mentioned this at the pool .
No drink facility in the room ...kettle etc
Safe cost 3 euros a night and i thought for that type of hotel should have been included in the price of my stay

Though the hotel is a bit outdated , and we had constant smell of the sewer in our room .....had to keep the door of the balcony alway open ,there was some perfume smell coming from the AC -suposevely covering the sewer smell -but NO ,it was making it worse

I stayed at the hotel for 6 nights in Feb and the hotel itself is good. The entertainment team are fantastic and my son loved the kids club. All the kitchen / waiters are brilliant and so friendly. The hotel is also very clean and tidy and offers a great range of activities and entertainment. I also had a massage in the spa and it was the best massage I've ever had.

However, the local area is very noisy. We stayed in a double room with balcony and on my first night I got to sleep at 6am because of the noise outside. Constant music, cars and people outside in the street and on the beach making noise. We asked for a quieter room, but this didn't make a lot of difference. The hotel really needs better soundproofing and for this reason I will not be returning to the hotel.

We loved our stay at the Bouganville! The water slides in the property are one of the best I’ve ever been to on an all inclusive property. Service here is so great and you can see how hard the staff work to ensure you and your family have a great time! It was great utilizing the kids camp as well and the food was also yummy with lots of variety. The hotel has an amazing view of the sunset and a nice black sand beach very close by. We had an adjoining two rooms for our family of four which worked out great and I loved the eco friendliness of the refillable water bottles! Great stay at Iberostar Bouganville Playa!

When we checked in at reception Anna told us the room wasnt ready. She took my phone number and said she would contact me when the room was ready. Hours passed and I went back to see if the room was ready and it was however Anna didnt bother phoning me as promised. Terrible service and I didnt like her attitude. The other female receptionist (dark hair, didn't get her name) was very pleasant and helpful on check out.

Room 104 .... clean and comfortable bed however the foul drainage smell in the bathroom was awful.

The hotel was noisy and the breakfast area was like a nursery full of unruly children.

The hotel is spacious and modern, the restaurant is excellent although after a week it gets a bit repetitive.
The bedroom was comfortable and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
Still, I WOULD JOT RECOMMEND TO ANYONE WITH CHILDREN UNDER THE AGED OF 4.
Apart from the baby pool, there’s no toddler friendly area and no activity that is inclusive for the younger ones. We had to go out of the hotel most days to look for suitable playgrounds and other activities, which was really not our plan. That was very inconvenient as we stayed in similar hotels before and never had this problem. Disappointing, but we still had a nice time.

We were lucky as our room was available upon arrival, we checked in before 3pm. Just an advice bring cash with you as you have to pay deposit for the pool towels.
The hotel was full but we managed to get a sunbed everyday, two poools and slides that amazed the kids.
They have a variety of activities for adults and for children, the kids club is an option if you have smaller children.
Hotel as a couple of pharmacies nearby and a supermarket. I strongly suggest the all inclusive as the food and variety is value for money.

Beach is just walking distance.

If you have a late flight the Hotel provides at no cost a room so you can take a shower, there is also a secure bag room to leave your bags. (Ask at reception for details)

Hotel cares about the environment: you have a water fountain on each floor to refill the glass bottle in your room.

And the most important
Staff is very friendly and they are really helpful.

Excellent location for walking on boardwalk with all the little shops and restaurants. Cleaning ladies were amazing and very friendly, however the front desk staff when we checked in was not at all. No coffee in room or anywhere in the hotel if you are an early riser. I wouldn't stay here again mostly because of the unfriendly staff and lack of explanations of anything like parking, resort credits, etc..

Feel that you need to upgrade when you arrive...

Overall, the hotel is clean. Sadly, it just seemed to want us to upgrade upgrade upgrade. From not being able to sit in certain seats at breakfast, to getting a pool towel...neither were possible as we didn't make the grade. We paid £160 for one night, which I think was enough, however, it clearly wasn't. Room was nice though. I use Iberostar a lot, but the staff didnt seem as helpful.

I would definitely choose this hotel again.

Fantastic Service, spotless rooms, delicious buffet (we went during Christmas and they had lobster!!!). We didn’t use the pool, we saw the lounging area is spacious and have wonderful view of the sea. If is not directly on the beach but I don’t think any property has that since beaches are public in Tenerife. The location was great, next to the beach, many restaurants around.
Only one very minor thing is if you have a room facing north, then it can get little noisy at night but the music always stops around 11pm.

My stay was amazing! I got an upgraded room as I should (from the Hotels.com gold status) but I asked at the check-in just to be sure, and received free wine and snacks as I should :) The receptionists were VERY helpful and nice, and helped me out with all my questions and mistakes I made when ordering excursions! The blonde receptionist from Poland is really a hero, she needs a raise and promotion :)

Very clean a clearly they have an Eco policy (which was a nice addition and did not negatively impact on the holiday in any way - some hotels I have stayed in with an eco policy have used it as an excuse to not offer certain things such as daily towel changes).

You can walk to the centre of Adeje in about 5 minutes and the centre of las americas in about 15 minutes. Siam park is also only a 15 minute walk. It’s also less than 1 minute to the nearest beach with restaurants and cool bars all along the promenade.

I have to admit, the hotel itself exceeded our expectations. It was beautiful, the pools outside were fab. It was always immaculate, modern and the location was brilliant. It’s only a few minutes to walk to the beach. There is plenty around the hotel food and entertainment wise too. It is wasn’t for the cleaners, our review would’ve been faultless. HOWEVER - €150 euros was taken from my purse that was inside a bag that had been opened and moved from a suitcase in the wardrobe. We are absolutely appalled and disgusted by this behaviour and we didn’t get any help sorting this. It’s a shame that a lovely hotel is let down by untrustworthy staff. Overall the bar, pool, and restaurant staff were the kindest, happiest people and they deserve recognition. :) cleaners however not good!

The hotel is ok. The food was not very hot and choice was limited. The covid policy was masks around the hotel but many ignored this and the staff said nothing apart from when entering the dinning room they were told to ware one which was good. However the lift rule was 10 people allow with masks this was crazy far to small, when we, four of us said no please a man who was rather big got very abusive and try to push in. This was guite upsetting. The hotel was not really bothered. Only one bar open in the day around the pool which had very loud music. Probably not stay again, not Iberostar standard.

A good holiday with some concerns.

Hotel was too relaxed on Covid rules around the pool areas and that includes several people breaking the smoking rule. The sunbeds were far too close together and that’s Covid risky.
Overall, the stay was good. Most activities were well taken up and good fun. Unfortunately, the paddle board activities in the main pool spoiled a 1-2 hour session for a lot of guests.
Paddle board yoga for 6 people took up the best part of the pool and stopped many going into the water. The repetitive music for over an hour long was torture. I had to leave the area as it gave me a migraine. I should have complained to the Management. I’m sorry I didn’t.
Then proper paddle boarding was introduced the day after. This was only for 4 people at a time. The rest of the guests had to stand aside while this inclusive activity was for popular guests only. Not fair.
The service throughout is excellent. Staff are brilliant overall. The food was terrific. Rooms are really clean and well set out. The Hotel has enough areas set out for people, particularly at weekends not everywhere was open. The Lanzarotte bar was closed for all 12 days of my visit.
I was also, concerned about the elite guest area run by the Hotel. Yes, they may pay more for this, but it must not give them the right to roam freely without masks and they must not be allowed to some in their exclusive areas beside the main pool.

Pools are amazing and for the whole family, entertainment and staff very good, the buffet with plenty of options and very well staffed following all Covid19 precautions. The best, the water park for my 3 year old son.

Great location just on outskirts of Playa de las America's , overlooking the sea . Hotel following all Covid measures so clean and safer than UK ..!
Food selection good and to high standard would recommend to anyone to go here .

Unfortunately we arrived just in time for the coronavirus lockdown so spent nearly all our time in our rooms so our experience was limited but with regards to staff and food we found very good and we would love to go again and receive the full benefits of this lovely hotel

Nice position so very friendly first rate food. Plenty of room for sun beds service around the pool nothing seems to much for the hotel to do I will be there again next February and march

Good location. Very good service

A very good location for exploring. The service from the staff is excellent. Our room was modern and a lovely bed. Big pool and one is heated. Lots of beds and the all inclusive is very good. The entertainment staff are friendly and work hard to keep those who wanted more to get involved. The gym is good and there are some exercise classes.

Liked everything about the Bouganville. Ample selection of food for every taste. Friendly staff. Never an issue getting a sun lounger anytime of day. Room was spacious with walk in large shower. Everything perfect.

Recently refurbished to a high standard. Excellent location as able to walk either to Playa or Costa Adeje. Food and staff excellent. We couldnt fault it. We are returning in march with the whole family.
