Bed on wheels on polished wooden floor - went to sit on bed and it slid out from under me and I hurt my back landing on floor; lounge absolutely putrid; open can of drink left in fridge and no \"welcome pack\" left as described in welcome letter; bathroom tap broken ... reported to Reception on check out but they didn't seem to care.

We stayed there for a week and it was great. It was myself and my two teenage daughters. Spacious, great amenities, easy walk to cavill avenue 10 mins, 5 mins to beach. Great pool and wifi always worked. Will stay again!!

A bit old and worn looking the standard was a bit below what I would usually like. Bathroom was old and moldy looking. There was a hole cut out of the wall where the pillow was and a cockroach crawled into my daughter’s hair. The location was okay with a tram stop out front so that was good but I probably wouldn’t stay there again.

Room was a little old and carpets was a little dirty. What bothered me the most was the dishwasher. There were dirty dishes left inside and it smelt. Amenities were also limited for the duration I stayed, so for others to take note, bring your own or be prepared to get dish soap, shampoo/conditioner, shower gel, laundry liquid from the shops.
Also, the main door doesn’t have a lock from the inside. You unlock from the outside and that’s it.
Other than these things, overall great stay. Reception was nice and friendly, and tram stop is just outside. Not too far to walk to the shops/ Cavill avenue.

We enjoyed a 5 night stay here. Great location, comfortable and convenient with the Tram stop straight out the front. Beach, Restaurants & Shops are walkable or can take a quick Tram ride. We travelled light, so was great to have a washing machine & dryer in apartment. The TV in Superior Appt was a decent size with some Foxtel channels. A very lovely, well maintained Pool, Spa & BBQ area. Easy after hours check in. Staff at Reception were friendly and efficient. This was our 3rd time staying at Palazzo and would happily stay again. Love it!

The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. At times especially in the pool it was difficult to relax due to the other guests not looking after their children. As a teacher this is difficult to turn the work buttons off. Even when the rules were explicitly pointed out and the area had signage displayed it took the swift staffs objections to parents to ensure they were watching their children closely. The hotel was close to easy transport to access shopping and airport shuttles. The hotel was very close to the shopping precinct and beach.

This property cancelled on us as we arrived in the airport! They did book us into an alternative property which was definitely a step down from what we had booked. The staff were very apologetic but had confirmed our booking the day before so was extremely surprised and extremely disappointed to receive the call to cancel as we arrived on the Gold Coast.

how much i paid for

I stayed here for eight nights. The room was very hot as the air conditioner was broken. I did asked to change rooms but They said the room was full. I had to stay without the aircon during summer time. Extremely hot.

Finally they gave me a portable air con which is a bit helpful. Anyways it’s still not enough considering how much I paid for. Not very happy with my stay here and won't be back.

This appartment had a nice spacious lounge area and a nice size bedroom and plenty of wardrobe space in bedroom and storage off lounge room. Highly recomend, will definitely stay again

**Beware when booking**

I did not get what we paid for. I booked a room with 1 x queen and 2 x twin beds for 5 of us and got 1 x queen and 2 x single beds plus a fold out single bed. When queried, I was told that the ad is misleading and that configuration would go against fire regulation. Also never received my bonus food and beverage voucher - queried upon departure and was told \"maybe we should have left it in your room.\"
Also, no 'room service' so ran out of coffee and only had 1 dishwasher tablet for a 4 day stay. We were out and about all day so barely saw reception open.

Some maintenance on the property wouldn't go astray either.

Walkable distance to cavil or the tram stops right out front of building.as most rentals there is wear and tear in the room but overall value for money its just a place to sleep end of the day.
Traveled with 2 adults and 3 kids a trundle bed was provided for 3rd child which was nice(have had blow up beds at prievious hotels)

I would not recommend Palazzo Colonnades. The check-in process was fine, and the staff working on reception were always friendly, though the state of the apartment and common areas were horrible.

Our bathroom had an incredibly unpleasant sewer smell for the entire stay, when bringing this to receptions attention, she mentioned she could put some 'draino' down the drain, though this did not help.

The kitchen pots and pans were incredibly old, peeling, scratched and unsafe to use.

The mattresses were not able to be slept on. They were beyond uncomfortable. We had to purchase mattress toppers on our holiday to be able to sleep.

And small things, such as the vacuum supplied with the room did not work (at all) due to it being full of other people's hair, food scraps and rubbish, we were provided no plug for the sinks and the exhaust fan was useless in the bathroom.

Along with all of this, the overall state of the room was terrible. The carpets were stained and filthy in each room. The furniture in the lounge room all had severe water damage at the legs, showing swelling and flakes falling off. The walls were all covered in dirt marks and scuffs.

When mentioning the common areas, the pool was dirty and the pool ladder was unstable, the spa jets were unable to be used & the gym can't exactly be called a gym.

We will not be coming back and I wouldn't recommend anybody to stay here either.

Note: the pots/ pans, vacuum and sink were all provided/ replaced.

Excellent location.

Hyundai tv was garbage and internet was worse, only used before bedtime but still.
The tram was very noisy, not the hotels fault really I know but maybe thicker glass is needed, single beds are way too short.

Three days of Medical Support.

This was a 3 day stay for support of family needing medical treatment. Property was reasonably well positioned, adjacent to tram stop. Bedrooms were small - Bedroom 1 was the size of a usual Bedroom 2; and Bedroom 2 could barely fit two single beds. Property is very 'tired'. its way past time for a full renovation, and salt air corrosion is showing on fixtures. Cleaning had some issues - a good history of breadcrumbs seen on the shelf under the toaster. Conversely, Staff were great. Really helpful.

A great hotel. Very close to central Surfers and walking distance to tourist area if you want to. Great heated pool and spa pool. Rooms are a little dated but clean and tidy. The Northcliff station is virtually right outside the entrance so very convenient and easy to catch the tram. Close to Northcliff surf club where you get a great feed and views of the beach.

We stayed in room 806. It was comfortable for three of us, my husband, myself and our 17 year old daughter. It served the purpose for what we wanted although the unit needed a good deep clean and a make over. The shower pressure was terrible and fitted sheets on the beds instead of a flat sheet would have been more comfortable.
The pool was a good size and very clean as were the other amenities. The ladies at the front desk were very nice and helpful. Parking was excellent and the tram stop out the front was very convenient. If the place could have a deep clean and a revamp it would definitely tick all the boxes.

On first glance the property looks good...but then that old humbug...beauty is often skin deep!
The premises was a little tattered on the edges with nicks here and there, wall gouges, evidence of skin deep cleaning with areas overlooked such as the laundry and shower area. We were really disappointed with the condition of kitchen appliances with teflon worn through, dented pan bottoms and a bare minimum of appliances to boot. 'Vinnies' wouldn't stock the crap presented to us for use. We had booked in for a 6 night stay...there were 2 towels only, 1 sachet of dishwashing liquid, 1 dishwsher tablet etc. the other 5 nights were available to purchase at a ridiculous cost...wow how absolutely lousy! Meaning, how much of a drain on their purse for the same x 5 nights.
Thankfully we bought soap with us because the supplied soap is that next to useless crap that cheap hotels supply. Oh and did I mention the bedroom light was not working as for a light in the lounge area and the wall clock was a permanent 6:30. The noisy exhaust fan light did not work as well.
What was that sound of water 'sloshing'...we soon discovered that water was flowing/dripping onto the balcony from some indeterminate source above and it wasn't rain! A pity the shower rose couldn't deliver the same. And then there were the constantly banging doors being closed above and across the hall.
In fairness, the lounges and bed were reasonably comfortable.

In the morning that we were supposed to check in, I received the email that the check.in reception would close at 12pm, so we got charge of un-refundable fee $6 to pick.up the key at normal check in 2pm. If I knew i had to pay this on the day of checking in, I wouldn't have booked this lace. Its very far from the centre.

The property offer a free secure parking inside the building which is most important thing when you coming by car. The area also close by to the beach and main district of surfers paradise.

However the interior inside the unit is quite old. When you arrive late you need to check in by calling someone over the phone and they will put you on the queue. Its annoying when they ask to pay bond deposit by providing all your card details on the phone. They could have asked in the morning when the reception open

Nitel company/staff which are responsible for answering phone calls and check-ins after hours are rude. I specifically had called twice and informed reception that I will be paying security deposit by cash the next day after I check -in when the reception would be open. Yet, the Nitel staff did not allow me to do that and said I can't get the keys if I do not make the payment and did not mention about 6$ extra payment charge.

Also, I did not receive the meal credit as per the VIP access perk mentioned in my booking.

Ladies at the reception are very good and friendly.

3 night stay. Check in staff are lovely and helpful, secure parking was great but that is where the good ends. Apartment wasn't properly cleaned on arrival with long hairs sticking to my socks in the living room. No welcome pack on arrival, so no dish detergent, washing powder, dish washer tabs, dish cloth or drying towel. After some back and forth emails they dropped some off. Garbage truck arrives at 6:10am, it is louder than your alarm. One way street that requires you to cross tram lines on entry and exit is less then ideal. Value for money just wasn't there with a stay comparable to a back packers. This place didn't feel anything like a holiday stay more like \"on a cold and grey Chicago morn another little baby child was born .........
