After returning from breakfast, I found that although my room had been “cleaned,” there was rubbish left on the floor and the bed had been made very poorly, as if rushed. When I asked the maid about the rubbish, the response was vague and I was told it was “already there,” which made little sense. The maid did eventually remove the rubbish and attempted to remake the bed, but the overall standard was disappointing.

Room was noisy - 2072. There is an extractor or something just outside as the room faces onto the roof and it can be quite noisy. Food quality at dinner was not good. Receptionist, who I think was the manger, was very off hand and not welcoming.

First of all 10/10 I’ll definitely be back again. The food was really good , the hotel was nice and clean and the rooms were lovely . However they are currently under renovation so most if not all activities were closed and only one restaurant was open causing the dining options to be limited by default . However I would like to return when renovations are completed to get the full experience of a stay there. Staff were lovely and very attentive and professional.

We were aware that building work was going on during our stay but had not realised how extensive this was. Thankfully we were only staying one night so this didn’t impact us too much. We were upgraded to a lovely newly decorated suite which was very nice with balcony on second floor. We were very happy to find the room had a bath ! Only issues were that there did not appear to be any room service available (I would have liked to have ordered food) and no telephone. Not sure if this is a temporary situation or not. Lots of tradesmen and rooms being renovated further down the corridor but this didn’t effect our stay. Will be lovely when finished.

Despite a lot of building work, as it is transitioning and expanding, staff kept us up to date with all that was happening. Disturbance was minimal.
We enjoyed tennis courts, outside pool area, spa and the lounge experience. The restirant is best not commented on as is changing in a week to full table service and this was a buffet sercvice.
Note that the hotel is under Heathrow flight path on some days and some might find that disturbing but we did not.

Our room was a bit small and only a double rather than king bed but it well appointed and they made good use of the space.
It had been freshly refurbished including a new balcony was perfect for relaxing with views of the river.

Excellent swift check-in. They had arranged a surprise complimentary room upgrade as it was my husband’s birthday and the room was just lovely. Happy birthday card & fresh cookie for him in our room. Delicious breakfasts. Staff were excellent - polite, efficient, went above and beyond. Had such a wonderful stay. The setting on the river and the outdoor pool were the icing on the (birthday) cake!

No idea how this place gets away with the description of \"upmarket\" or \"luxury\". My room was in the 1990's external prison block outside of the main hotel that's just been refurbished. The bed was made from 2 beds pushed together, so you fall into the gap between then. The wardrobe doors had come off the runners and wouldn't open or close properly, the bathroom was small, tatty and had a shower over a tiny bathtub. The ventilation in the bathroom didn't work and the air conditioning in the room just seems to blow lukewarm air into the room at different speeds, loudly.
The breakfast is the same as you'd find in a Premier Inn, but for some reason they charge for some coffees and teas.
Couldn't use the spa because you aren't allowed to after the check out time of 11am. The price tag for this place is an absolute scandal, I'd never stay here again.

Generally good. But had a couple of issues with the kettle not working (rectified next morning) and shower running scalding hot all of the time. On both occasions staff were very accommodating and brought up drink from barista and maintenance man showed up within 2 mins of complaint made to fix problem.

Great hotel, stayed on 19 July and was the hottest day of the year. The outdoor pool was great and felt like we were in another country. Room was good, hotel clean. Parking was a bit of a squeeze and the renovations around hotel did dampen things but we knew about this prior to staying - I would def stay here again

Excellent one night stay before flying out from Gatwick. Room clean and well appointed and we had a view of the river. Obviously some renovations are ongoing but it was still a pleasant stay. Excellent staff..buffet evening meal was excellent as was the breakfast. I've stayed here on business previously although recently stay was for pleasure. It's a very good hotel

Wonderful stay at the Runnymede on the Thames. Check in was smooth and easy, with clear instructions on how to find our room.

Had a lovely mini break here to celebrate our anniversary, can’t complain about anything as we enjoyed it. The food was very good, the spa was lovely and especially our treatments. Room was good and clean. Good shuttle bus service into Windsor. Handy for travelling into London, it only took 41 minutes on the train from Egham Station- which is about a 20-25 minute walk from the hotel.

We stayed during the renovations, which didn't impact our stay at all, it was more just cosmetic which didn't affect us. The outdoor pool was lovely as was the indoor spa area. Our room was really nice, and we had a great dinner. The only reason why I wouldnt give this 5* is there was a lot of 'rules' about when you could use the facilities which kind of limited our stay and forced us to have a schedule rather than be a bit more chilled. For example everything HAS to be booked, and you can only use the facilities after you check in on your first day only. Which means you have from 2pm -8pm to experience the outdoor pool, spa etc...so if you have a boat trip booked on your first day or dinner booked for 6.30 you really limit your time to be able to experience the facilities, which is ultimately why you visit this hotel

Very poor customer service in the restaurant. I was pointed at by a waitress when I asked for some help and she walked off. The checkin was a very embarrassing situation as my travelling guests arrived before me and weren’t allowed to checkin until they had paid for the rooms even though it was on a group booking in my name. I then had to spend 20 minutes to get the hotel to refund their cards and use the card that was used for the initial booking. On our second day, it took another 20 mins to locate the rooms we had booked. Checkin staff were rude and dismissive as if it was my fault. I won’t be returning.

The hotel is amazing and with glorious weather it’s so nice to sit outside by the river and watch the world go by. The staff each and everyone of them were just fantastic, and nothing was a problem or an issue. Clean and very comfortable. Would highly recommend and would most definitely return.
My only issue is if you are staying when Ascot is on and only a couple of you then it works out very expensive if you want a taxi to and from the races. But overall a lovely hotel to chill and unwind. Food also exceptional

Lovely hotel on the River Thames - newly renovated rooms over looking the river - some have balconies or Juliet balcony. Rooms are not large but adequate for a few nights. Lounge and outside terrace also very nice

The hotel is being refurbished but this was well managed and communicated, had no issues with noise etc but the change to a Warner hotel is evident in standards of service. I had to complain at breakfast because after arriving to find no clean tables, I was treated very rudely by a staff member who shouted across the room at me, bringing attention to the fact I was travelling alone and was very grumpy at being asked to clear a table by the window for me (since the hotel’s USP is the amazing view of the river, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that guests want that view!) Two other couples arrived and had the same battle. It took three asks to get tea + cup + milk so I was very disappointed - the manager I spoke to did apologise and spoke to the staff member but a refund of breakfast would have been appreciated as the service was very disappointing.
