The documents/info we received did not mention the POD rail transfer from T5 to hotel (8 plus pounds pp each way) We took bus route 423 for a fraction of the price Bus runs every 15 minutes. Restaurant is pretty good. There is also a nice pub 10 minute walk to the west

I really like sitting out on the terrace with a cold drink & watching the aircraft.
Very easy to get to terminal 5 by bus from here.

Not near the airport but you can get the bus for £8 each or the pods. It is a dated hotel with no lifts!!! We had heavy bags so was not ideal. Did not have breakfast so can’t comment but check in was easy and there was a little shop on site. Think I preferred the premier inn across the road though…

Convenient location to Terminal 5 (bus stop 4 minutes walk from hotel). Comfortable bed but very small room. Adequate if you just need a room for a night and have an early check in and therefore you want to be within close proximity to Heathrow airport. If you don’t mind being further away there are better options for the money

Great for stop over for the airport very easy to get to and from airport via the T5 pod service (additional charge applies) there is parking on site we didn’t used there was a small shop on site however this looked closed both on arrival about 22:00 and when we left at 11:00 the follow morning

Bedrooms look really tired and the room was not large enough for 3 adults. Despite booking for 3 people not enough towels. The shower dripped water continuously so you had the sound of dripping water all night and the TV had no signal. Very disappointed with our room compared to last year’s stay.

No elevators, no luggage trolleys.
Their security staff( Mr. Abdi) refused to assist me with my luggage.
I have bad knees and I was made to climb a flight of stairs to get some ice cubes because Mr. Abdi refused to assist me.
There were some exceptional
staff( Samantha. Moustafa, Sachiel).
I had asked that the hotel manger, Mr. Gil Monsalve call me so that I coukd lodge these complaints but it has been 3+ days and I have not received a call from him.
I would NEVER stay at Thistle Heathrow T5 Hotel ever again.
There are always options in life.Thanks.

I had a horrible experience at this hotel.
No elevators, No luggage trolleys.

I have bad knees and I had climb several flight of stairs to get some ice from their restuarant after Mr. Abdi refused to assist me.
There were a few exceptional staff( Samantha, Moustafa and Sachiel).
One is not told at booking that their hotel is horrible if you have limited mobility.
I asked that the hotel Manager( Mr. Gil Monsalve) call me to lodge my concerns but it's been 3+ days after I checked out and I have received no call from him.
I would NEVER stay at this hotel again.
There are always options in life.

The lobby area was clean and self check in was easy to navigate, however our room had black mold in the bathroom and the pillows/mattress were extremely uncomfortable. It’s too bad the rooms didn’t compare to the nice lobby.

The staff was very helpful and offered me the choice of a ground floor room as there was no lift. The room was fine but a bit tired. Redecoration would go a long way. I left too early for breakfast, so I looked at buying a snack from the counter in reception. The prices were extortionate! I expected them to be more expensive than if you bought from a shop, but £6 for a packet of crisps that cost £2.50 in a shop was far too much of a mark up in my opinion and was taking advantage as there was nowhere else to shop nearby. It is extremely convenient for T5 though.

Check in was slick and Arbaz on reception was fantastic and went above and beyond. He sorted our parking and pod to T5 which was very welcome after a very long drive. Thanks Arbaz!

After dropping our bags to the room, we visited the Aviator Bar. Beer is expensive but the food was not. It offers value for money, super quick service and very filling!
The view of the runway and watching aircraft come and go whilst having dinner was a novelty.

The room has everything you need, furniture a little dated but very clean.
The walls in our room were thin. We were kept awake by the guest next door having a very loud conversation that went on well into the small hours. When our alarm went off at 5am, she was still going!! This was on the top floor overlooking the runway. (Corridor with rooms from 700 onwards)
We've stayed before and not had an issue on the lower level with noisy neighbours. Probably a one off but worth bearing in mind.
It wont put us off staying again. The location is ideal for T5. Grab a pod or the 423 bus which drops you off outside the hotel.

I had a great stay at Thistle London Heathrow Terminal 5. What stood out the most was how smooth and convenient everything was thanks to the contactless check-in and check-out. It made the whole experience feel effortless, especially after a long journey.
The room was comfortable and clean, and the location is very convenient for Heathrow. Overall, a very practical and stress-free stay — exactly what you need when traveling.
Would definitely stay here again.

The hotel offers everything you could need for a short stay at the airport. breakfast was fresh and a good choice, bar and restaurant were good and the food was fresh and reasonably priced. the rooms were adequate for one night but the lack of a lift was an issue when you have a large amount of luggage.

Convenient location. Easy transfer to / from airport T5 using the Heathrow Pod (small cost to pay).

Hotel itself is a bit dated and can do with a refurbishment.

No lift, so have to negotiate steps (2-3) to get from reception to ground floor. If you are on the first floor, in addition you need to negotiate a flight of stairs (12 + steps).

Reception staff - ok overall. Not my first visit. Some are attentive and really prompt with service. Other instances, seem to be less so.

Very convenient if you take the heathrow pod to the hotel from terminal 5. The facility is older but very clean and the restaurant/bar is very convenient. The bed was comfortable and clean bathroom. I didn't have the breakfast but nice that they offered it. Price was very reasonable and very friendly staff.

We arrived late and needed a place to stay overnight in Heathrow since we had a connecting flight the next morning and staying in the secured area of the terminal is no longer an option. We were able to use the POD automated shuttle to get to the hotel quickly. The room was good and priced very reasonably and the staff wete helpful.

We booked a family room with a double and a single bed. Room provided was 3 single beds. Tiny room - much smaller than I expected for a family room. No room for us to all have our luggage out. Very basic room and not what I expected for the money paid. PODS to the airport were convenient but not free as indicated on the hotels website. Disappointed in our stay. Would not stay again.

Breakfast gorgeous. Hotel was amazing.
And the staff were incredible.
My partner had an accident, tripped of her own accord. All the staff on that night were just amazing.
I was in bits when the ambulances arrived and the staff really really looked after me. I can't thank them enough. My partner remains in a coma but is going to recover.
The staff at the thistle hotel were trained in first aid and saved her life. Thistle hotels will be top of my list.

I thought it was overpriced for what you get. The buses are infrequent to get to the hotel, you have to check yourself in, the room was way too hot.
If you have a suitcase the bus won’t let you on in the morning if too many people to go back to the airport so best to organise a pod or a taxi
Would have been better to stay at the Sheraton I think

It’s a functional hotel if you need a bed before an early flight from Heathrow T5.

I tend to arrive via the Elizabeth Line and the instructions on how to get to the hotel from T5 aren’t obvious.

Drop down to floor two and look for Pod Parking. Use the free pod to goto the car park, from there it’s a five minute walk to the hotel.

You’ll arrive at a locked gate mid way, press the call button and the gate will be unlocked.

Since my last visit, the reception staff have been replaced with self service screens. They’re functional but not a great experience to use. Slow response from the keyboard being the main gripe.

Food in the hotel bar is fine and watching the planes land on the terrace outside the bar never gets old.

So in summary, it’s a tired old hotel which is functional.

And lastly, it does not have a lift.
