Cheap room and very dated. However that was reflected in the price paid (compared to others in the area). Prices for snacks at the mini-market in the foyer where outrageous - little change out of £20.00 for a bottle of water and a bar of chocolate.

The room was spotless and bathroom looked new.
Bed linen high quality, pillows better than most high end hotels. Towels plentiful.
Room and closet very good.
Kettle with plenty of tea/coffee is very convenient.
On site restaurant menu looks very reasonable, did not try.
Best of all…… 5 min ride into Heathrow Terminal 5 on a unique space-age pod, dedicated to the hotel!
Will recommend to others and definitely stay again.

I have used this hotel numerous times before an early morning flight and always enjoy going back. Convenient location for the pods and the bar and restaurant is great to sit and watch some planes. Staff extremely friendly and always helpful

It’s big misleading using terminal 5 as part of hotel name. It’s about 2 miles away from the actual terminal 5. Basically, it’s at middle of nowhere. Don’t book it, you will regret it.

This is a great hotel to stay when flying from Heathrow t5. The staff are wonderful and so helpful. The rooms are comfortable and clean. The clincher for me is the pod which is a sort of people mover on a rail that goes to and from the Thistle and T5, it makes it so easy.

Needed an overnight hotel close to T5 to make an early flight - the pod transporter is always fun and works well. The Hotel has been upgraded and modernised since my last stay - a warm helpful welcome at reception, online checkin on a screen (and useful in person explanation of how to access the pod the next morning via the carpark/gate code), and room was spacious and comfortable with clean/modern bathroom and kettle! Had dinner in the Aviator restaurant - pleasantly surprised how good it was. Overall a very good experience and I'd definitely return when next needing to make an early flight.

Hotel a bit outdated but the rooms are clean and bright, comes with all basic amenities, no coffee maker but a hot pot with coffee supplies. Hallways are outdated with older carpet but overall premises are clean. Hotel has a cute airplane theme which my son loves bc he loves planespotting. Bar and restaurant has a wide variety of food and has a great patio that you sit outside and view airplanes flying by. There's no charge to use the patio, which is nice. Staff are nice and the dining manager Peter is very friendly, helpful with food allergy accommodations. Breakfast is not included in your stay and is an extra fee, unless you book a \"room with breakfast\".
My only complaint is there is no water dispenser machine anywhere in hotel. No gym. Hotel has access to Heathrow T5 pods which you can take for approx 8 British Pounds to get to terminal 5 from Hotel as an alternative to the local bus.

I very much enjoyed my stay and watching the planes take off from the balcony. I just have one criticisms. Is that there was no bible at all in the draw.when ever I stay in Any hotel I always look for a bible. It doesn’t matter if u like a bible or not it has always been been a bible in any hotel. I travelled to Nashville and the first thing I look for in a hotel room is a bible
. I don’t go to church and don’t preach.but every hotel should have a bible

I am an older traveller and had a heavy suitcase, I asked for help but told by the most unsmiling person that there was no one to help ( my daughter stayed here previously and told me they got some one to carry her and her husbands heavy luggage). The room had really bad stains on the carpet, under the kettle station it was full of dust. I didnt use any facilities . Its ok if you can carry your case as no lift . Didnt have breakfast, Positive is the POD is 2 m in walk

I specifically booked this hotel because of the Pod to Heathrow. Nowhere on the site do they let you know it’s out of action and nor did the staff tell me that was the case at check-in. In fact she led me to believe it was working when she told me how to use it, gave me a printout of how to work it and then charged me £8.50 to use it. Instead one is paying £8.50 to use a replacement bus service. Very disappointed that I was misled and will not stay at Thistle again.

Happy with the stay. Have stayed here before. All staff very friendly and helpful. Did have an issue with the shower not working very well but reported to staff who offered to send maintence but we were checking out anyway. Thank you to all staff. Will be returning.

The room was clean and comfortable for an overnight stay. The check-in process, which included passport scans and nominal credit card charges even for prepaid accommodations, was far more complex and annoying than that in other hotels. The hotel is not in a particularly convenient location, with few nearby amenities, and despite the hotel name, it is not within walking distance of Terminal 5, though there is (quick and seemingly reliable) public bus service to and from the airport.

First of all, we’d stay here again. The positives were the location and access to transit to and from the airport, the Aviator Lounge with their excellent food and views of airplanes and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The negatives were ‘well used’ rooms, cleanliness was sub par (we found thick dust in a number of areas) and dated fixtures and few missing and amenities that we’re used to having in hotels (face cloths and tissues)

Perfect location when flying from terminal 5. We used the pods to the terminal in the morning which was super convenient. Arrived relatively late so didn’t use the restaurant etc, shop was expensive if you wanted drinks etc, take a bottle of water with you.

Be sure to get a ground floor room if you have heavy luggage as there is no lift.
The bus from Heathrow arrivals takes no more than 5 minutes (two stops) to get to the hotel.
Check out in the morning was easy and using the pods to get to Terminal 5 for an early flight is really easy and a great experience. Will definitely stay here again for early flights.

Although really clean, the bathroom was pretty run down and could benefit from a refresh.

Super convenient to T5 and the pod transfer service is perfect.

I asked for some hot water when I arrived as I had to wait for room to be ready but was declined which was disappointing after the long flight from Australia. Small things are a huge difference.

Very dated rooms but clean and everything you would need for a stay close to the airport. The pods from the hotel to the airport are ideal! I wouldn’t advise a stay for light sleepers though as the hotel is very active with people coming and going so doors slamming regularly may keep you up! Found the staff to be friendly and food was decent in the bar however the onsite shop is ridiculously overpriced!

We stayed either side of flights to Dublin parking our car on site for 9 days. It is easy to catch flights using the next for Pod parking service getting the code for the gat between the Thistle to the Pod at check-in at the Hotel. The staff are very helpful and there are lots of ground floor rooms. However you may have a long walk to the King Deluxe rooms that are in the 200 range. 400 range rooms are nearer reception.

Always reliable, parking £18 per 24 hours, ten minutes to T5 via the pod (£8.25). Clean and comfortable rooms, if internally a bit tired. Deluxe rooms have Nespresso machines in though this year they have stopped the two bottles of water they used to give. Staff always friendly and helpful, departures board in the lobby which has recently been refreshed and looks good. Food in the aviator bar is tasty although priced as you would expect for an airport hotel. That said Maccies and the Shell garage are less than five minutes away, and you can pop over to premier inn if you fancy their breakfast instead. I stay here all the time and have never found a good reason to stay anywhere else.
Accessible straight from the motorway there’s always parking, I can park up, get a code for the pod, pod it to t5, get through security and be at the gate or with a beer within 35 mins so realistically I know if I’m at thistle an hour and a quarter before scheduled take off I’m going to be fine. That only works for t5 though, obvs.

When we checked in there was water near the bed and smelled like it’s been sitting there awhile. Smell was like an old mop pail sitting out to long. We called front desk and they sent a worker who put a towel over the wet spot and left it like that. Our whole night the room smelled unpleasant. We asked for a shower mat as the tub was slippery and that took 4 phone phone calls before we got what we asked for.

The hotel is super convenient for travel to/ from Heathrow Terminal 5 using the Pods.

Staff made us feel welcome on arrival. Check in was easy, using the self-serve machines, and staff were on hand to support if needed.

The room was a good size for 2 twin beds and had useful facilities such as tea and coffee, a good-sized wardrobe and a hairdryer. There was plenty of room to put our suitcases safely to one side, not restricting access in the room.

Our bathroom had not been properly cleaned and the used towels were still in the bath however this was promptly rectified after contacting reception.

The hoyel was a 6 minute public bus ride from Heathrow Terminal 5. Fantastic location to watch the planes tale off. It offered a delicious hot and continental breakfast. The room/bathroom was clean and appeared to be recently updated. The staff was friendly and helpful. I'd stop there again when flying from Ternimal 5. :0)

My partner and I arrived to the hotel relatively late in the evening. The room we were originally assigned smelled very strongly of mold, but we assumed that is what the whole place must smell like. While getting ready for bed I stepped into a wet spot on the carpet that fully soaked my socks. We ended up reaching out to the front desk for a new room which was cleaner. Overall the hotel is very old, the walls are thin, and both of the rooms we stayed in were a trek from the entrance. We won’t be staying here again.

Honestly, the best thing about this place is riding the Terminal 5 Heathrow Pods. Everything's very impersonal, staff are nice enough, but I felt like I had to work hard for them to notice I was even there. Everything's \"Self Service\". The hotel is . . . OK. Tried to eat at the restaurant, after I'd sat there & been basically ignored by the staff for 20 minutes, I got up and went to the convenience store in the lobby. (also a \"self service\" checkout)
More about the driverless Pods: they're really cool, but if passengers are forced to share a Pod (due to demand during peak times, or because only one bay is functional, for example) the eight pound fare starts feeling like a rip-off

I really love this place. It's so convenient, right next to the airport, just take to pods from Car Park Level 2 & you're there in 5mins. Keisha at the front desk is so pleasant & helpful. I will always stay here when I have an over night layover in LHR.

The hotel was conveniently located near Heathrow, although there is no shuttle service. Parking is available at 18 pounds a night. The restaurant was very good and the breakfast was most enjoyable. Note that there is no elevator which may be problematic for those with disabilities and assigned an upstairs room. Fortunately, my room was on the ground floor.

Great stay for the money. Enjoyed the bar looking over airstrip and watching the planes coming in. Only downside was the poor soundproofing: hearing the neighbour showering, coughing and scraping his throat at 3:30am.
