The room was great, very quiet, very clean. Staff were really nice. Pub was great to sit and relax, have a bite to eat. And the location - perfect for an early morning departure from LHR.

Brilliant room, fantastically old and quirky building, and wonderful staff. We had an evening meal and was disappointed the restarurant was closed but ate in the bar instead and food was good.

We didn’t even complete our stay, we left the room in the early hours of the morning because of the noise coming from a fan or something similar outside the room. Really disappointed.

Unique place to stay. No lifts so be prepared to haul luggage up uneven stairs. Our roof was rather drafty and the provided extra space heater did not work. But the extra blankets for the bed were cozy. During the pub hours, music plays constantly (stopped at 11 pm). Overall a neat place with some interesting and unique history. Easy access via the 703 bus from Heathrow terminal 5. Staff was friendly and helpful. Attached restaurant had an amazing Sunday roast!

Great choice to spend the night, especially for an early flight. London center is about a 1 to 1.5 hr train ride. Very good choice if you've got a car and don't want to drive in the city. Surprisingly spacious room! Lovely place!

The hotel is an old, historic building with the rooms above the pub. It’s noisy until the pub closes each night, but we knew that going in, so it didn’t bother us. The staff employees were awesome! The room was clean and comfortable. The food was good. The location is great. There’s a bus stop close by that takes you to Heathrow to get on the Tube.

Nice quiet stay - room was clean and the bathroom perfectly updated. Bonus - Mediterranean grill and a well-stocked convenience store right around the corner for those inevitable snacky moments. Also, the place is >slightly< haunted...

Simple few nights stay after flying in off long haul flight to Heathrow. Food is quality and room had everything i needed decent bed and shower. Maybe i’d include a bath tub next time pay the extra. Place with character also rather than basic hotels.

Lovely old building with a huge room. Decor was a little tired and areas behind roll top bath etc were not especially clean. Lots of scuffed paintwork and badly patched tiles etc. Bed was also a little short if you are tall. I was on my own so slept at an angle so was fine. Staff were friendly and helpful but there was an issue with their WiFi going down and payment not being available by card in the pub/restaurant etc. At about 9.00pm there was a huge fight that started in the pub I think and went outside. A knife was definitely involved and it was terrifying to hear. The hotel cannot help this but they didn’t come round to check on rooms or anything afterwards which would have been nice. Overall for the price it is a nice place and quirky choice near to Heathrow with free parking. Just lacking in a few details which would make it special.

The room was nice and check in was convenient but I do think it's a problem that there was no 24 hour reception for the price I was paying. There was no one around to take my key when I left... so I left it in the room and I have no idea what would have happened if I'd arrived (as I often do) after midnight. If these things aren't concerns for you though then this is a nice little hotel close to heathrow and the staff were friendly.

I loved this place staff was very friendly. They had on site parking. It was very close to the airport. We had dinner which was some of the best food I had the whole time in the UK. They did also a great breakfast. Just loved it can’t say enough.

The hotel was in shockingly bad condition from the outside, and was filthy and wise on the inside. We had two rooms, one with extensive mold growing on the carpet. Truly disgusting accommodations, and I was berated by the family for booking this hotel. Strongly recommend you avoid.

Misleading information about care parking
We booked this hotel because they advertised free parking — unfortunately, that’s not the reality. The hotel's car park is managed by a third-party company that issues fines, and the hotel is supposed to register guest vehicles in their system. However, if the staff forget to do this, and a fine is issued, the hotel takes no responsibility and offers no help. Save yourself the hassle and extra cost — staying here could end up costing you double.

Upon arrival my reservation was “lost” but they stepped up and took care of me without hesitation (I had the receipt they had no record at all) I was very impressed. The meal was amazing! All the staff I encountered were amazing, everyone was friendly and helpful. Highly recommend!

Beautifully old inn type hotel. Staff were extremely friendly and decor was very styled to the era. Very easy to speak to prior to arrival . Free parking which is always a plus. Very reasonably priced. Also had a restaurant. Breakfast had lots of choices & evening meal menu was fantastic & very tasty. Stayed as it was about 30mins drive from Wembley Stadium & Sunningdale Golf Course about 15 mins.A happy medium for the wknd. Beautiful little village and apparently haunted! 👻

Sadly, not the best nights stay I’ve ever had - Being in a pub, I wasn’t expecting absolute tranquility, but the road outside the property is incredibly busy, and appears to be heavy goods and bus route - The room we stayed in, did not have a window frame, which meant every single noise outside our be heard - the double glazed inner part of the window did block out some noise, but not much.
When I book a hotel, I expect the basic amenities, like windows !!!!
All in all, pretty disappointing - Don’t think we will be rushing back anytime soon unfortunately.

We loved staying in this gorgeous historic inn (established 1106). Our spacious room had lots of character but had also been thoroughly updated for comfort. The bathroom was great, and looked onto an old turnpike stone. Just remember to close the blind before you undress as the large windows reveal all to the neighbours. Super convenient for Heathrow & Windsor and a really nice place to spend a night or two.

Nice property with friendly staff. Bedrooms were very hot (due to recent hot weather), no opening windows so couldn’t get any fresh air, no air con but a fan was provided which helped.
The bathroom could do with some maintenance - broken toilet seat, paint peeling, mould around shower, etc.
Despite the heat, I had a very good nights sleep, the bed was very comfortable. The TV was an internet one so couldn’t display any regular tv channels.

The room was nice and had everything we needed for a one night stay. We stayed in room 1 which was right on the road meaning you can hear all the traffic going by. Also as it’s very close to the beer garden you could hear a lot of noise from the people in there and this went on until 1am which wasn’t very pleasant. I understand its a pub hotel so expected some noise from other people but thought 1am was just a little disrespectful

This property is absolutely amazing. When i saw it was built in the 1100's I knew I had to stay there. When my daughter and I checked in, after parking in a nice off street parking lot behind the property, we were greeted by Cherry. She is such a lovely woman. Right off I felt like I was talking to someone I had known for years. We arrived earlier than check in time fresh off the plane from Dallas so we were hungry. We settled into the dining room and had a delicious full English breakfast. After eating we got settled into room 3. The room is stunning. The old iron fireplace is a work of art. Old meets new in this room. The bed was one of the most comfortable beds i have ever slept on. The bathroom has an incredible walk in shower with a rain shower head. The property also has a beautiful garden area. We sat out there a few different times to both eat dinner and have a pint of delicious local hard cider. I cannot recommend this property enough. I can't wait to return to England so I can stay there again.

This inn is fantastic. Quirky (who can beat an inn from the 1100s with a colorful past?), comfortable, and very reasonably priced for value received. The staff were absolutely lovely with our young, jet lagged family. Food in the pub was delicious the two times we ate there. Note - despite its easy access to Heathrow, the Ostrich Inn is in a small village, so late night food options are non-existent (plan accordingly if coming on an overseas flight). Very simple access to Windsor Castle and Heathrow airport using the bus that stops very close to the Ostrich Inn on High Street. 10/10 would come back. Thank you!

I love the ostrich and this is my second time staying here. The steps are a bit much but it was erected in 1106. You couldn’t ask for nicer people, the food is great. Only thing is we had an early flight and it was a Saturday night with a pub so of course no sleep. But that’s not the fault of anyone but ours we should’ve brought earplugs because everyone was just having a great time.

This property is so convenient to Heathrow and Windsor Castle. We stayed two nights. This is an old historical establishment with quirky ceiling heights and tons of character. Staff are amazingly supportive and kind. Food is delicious. Rooms are small but well appointed. Parking is a bonus! Highly recommend as a comfortable and welcoming place to stay!

We've stayed at the Ostridge a couple of times and have always had a great time. The pub is convenient and excellent. The matresses are typical English mattresses, a fit firm for most American tastes, but we were very comfortable. When we get bach to London, we'll be happy to stay at the Ostridge again. 😁

Quaint Inn with Historical Vibe
A quaint little inn nearby Windsor Castle and Heathrow. This inn has quite the history and I was unaware of how connected it is to early London (1100s and 1500s). As such, the inn is very old and rustic but the vibe is very modern and local. The staff were very courteous and helpful and accommodating. The restaurant has really good food and local drinks (they even distill their own gin). We stayed in the apartment suite that accommodated our group of 4 quite nicely. It was very clean and the decor was updated and comfortable. Again, the inn is old so for those looking for a more modern and updated feel, it may not be your cup of tea. I needed a convenient overnight stay near Heathrow and really didn’t fancy spending it with one of the big hotel chains so we tried the Ostrich. Typical old pub, lots of character and history. Car park had plenty of parking space (remember to enter car registration on arrival ). Room was very comfortable with all we required. Staff were friendly and couldn’t help enough. For the evening we booked a slot in the bar for dinner which a typical pub menu and good value for money. We left early the following day so didn’t have time to sample the breakfast at extra cost. You may ask why not 5 stars Excellent on everything. Well you need to understand a very old inn has very narrow stairs, lots of tight turns, narrow corridors, doors to negotiate when carrying your holiday (full to the
limit) suitcases from the carpark to your bedroom, especially when you are in your senior years. Definitely a challenge but we made it and it gave us a workout for free. Despite the later would definitely use again. Well done.

This is a hidden gem, especially if you are fly in/out of Heathrow airport. The rooms are beautiful with some quirkiness. The pub food is excellent, especially the breakfast.

We only had one night in London on our way back to Nashville, and staying at The Ostrich Inn in Slough was absolutely the best choice we could have made! From the moment we walked in, we were transported back in time—this place has been standing since 1106, and you can feel the history in every creaky floorboard and flickering candle.
The atmosphere? Incredible. The ghost stories? Thrilling. And the service? Absolutely top-notch! We had a delicious dinner that made us wish we were staying longer, and the breakfast the next morning was just as fantastic—exactly what we needed before heading to the airport.

The third time we have stayed here. An excellent location for getting to Heathrow, yet a historic building in a local village. Food and real ale selections are normally good, although there have not been specials on the menu the last two times we stayed and on this stay, there was only one real ale, which was a special winter ale and did not appeal.

The room was very cosy for our couples weekend get away! We got a bit cold but we were kindly given a portable radiator and soon we were very toasty. It was also interesting learning the history of the place as this is my third time staying at the Ostrich - but it made it all the more fun! It was also nice to see the exterior Christmas lights still up. I’ve always regarded this inn my happy place - thank you!
