We booked a family room for 4.
The bed was ok. The sofa bed for the kids was absolutely terrible, it’s not suitable for one child definitely not for two and does not even fit the definition of sofa bed. Extremely thin (less thick than a blanket) “mattress” over falling apart springs extreme unstable narrow and not acceptable altogether. The breakfast and pool were nice although the single toilet in the ladies bathroom was clogged and disgusting throughout the weekend. In one word - disappointing

Room was fine, albeit a nightmare to actually find as the hotel is like a maze of corridors and stairs with poor signs and map.
Reception staff were lovely but don’t wasn’t your breath saying good morning to any of the housekeeping staff as they will just ignore you. They’ll also tut at you if you can’t push you pushchair past their trolley.
Location was great for Legoland.

Staff at reception were not helpful, not great or very receptive on arrival when my wife and son checked in. I was parking the car. Ruined my son’s birthday experience on arrival. We were going Lego land do 2 days. Had I been there I would have made a complaint.
We asked reception for an item for our room on the day we arrived, After two days it didn’t arrive. Having chased it up myself on the day we arrived, I was told by reception, it had been requested and they were not over willing to chase it up again. Poor customer service.
Beds were uncomfortable and bed sheets had coffee stains on them.
House staff were all polite and welcoming. Always well greeted.
Decor of the actual building and estate is beautiful and the breakfast was good with lots of variety especially for vegetarians. Staff at restaurant were helpful.
First impressions make a lasting impression and although the location was very close to Lego Land, we are unlikely to come back here again.

I was put above the ballroom when there was an event taking place. The music was so loud, I couldn’t make a phone call.
Moved rooms, same issue.
Moved a 2nd time - to the furthest room away in the hotel, which is understandable, but no offer to help, a corridor with no lights and a very confusing maze of a hotel.

We stayed for 2 nights in the “ School House “ rooms. There were a lot of stairs to get to the rooms and then , internally , inside the room there were more stairs. I have a walking stick so it made this very challenging.
Our toilet overflowed and was not able to be fixed until the next day so we were assigned another room , thankfully this did not have internal stairs.

The sofa bed was awful the matress, if you could call it that was as flat as a pancake. It was the worst night sleep we have ever had. It resulted in having to put the so called matress on the floor and pad it with duvets to find some comfort. We were there two nights so I asked the staff to provide another mattress and duvets to pad it. They gave us an exta duvet and sheets. Lucky we brought our own blankets or we would have been freezing. Its not a cheap hotel by any means. I was drawn in by the glitzty photos when I booked. Do not be fooled you are beter off booking a premier inn. This hotel does not do double bedrooms. They are not suitable for families. I would say the majority of people staying there were families. My child is 12 and bigger than me. So if the response from them is that the sofa bed is only meant for children then that will be a poor cop out. My daughter who is 8 who slept on the sofa bed said the metal bars were digging in her. Im appalled. The staff were friendly. The pool was mediocre as it was always crammed full. Its not big enough for the capacity of the hotel. They do supply pool towels, and a hair dryer in the room as well as an ironing board and tea and coffee making facilities. However for the cost of the room you are better off with a budget hotel. Breakfast was nice, but you had to book the restaurant 1705 so make sure you do in adavance. The sofa bed was useless even as a sofa because it was not comfortable. Just go elsewhere.

Great stay for our family of 4. Our room was clean, a bit of a walk but fine. The pool was particularly great for the kids with floats and noodles etc and we swam everyday! It was quite busy though! The buffet dinner exceeded our expectations, food was excellent and good variety. Location - we got the bus to town once which was close enough, but ended up driving the next day for convenience and parked at Alexandra gardens for the Windsor on Ice set up. The hotel was so nicely decorated and very Christmassy! Great experience and we’d go back!

Your staff are a credit to you, very good. The room however, was not impressive. I had called two weeks prior to my visit with my daughter and my grandson age 1.5 years. I had asked for a bed rather than a fold down bed as I have spine issues. Your reception told me that the fold down wouldn't suit anyone above the age of 16. As the fold down was mega I mean mega uncomfortable even to sit on, and across the other side of the room, we opted to push the bed against the wall and put my grandson on the inside and the two of us slept in the rest of the bed. The mattress join was fairly prominent to so wasn't comfortable. We couldn't put my grandson on the fold out as it was across the room and also he would have fallen out. The hotel was lovely, very busy, but lovely. You could do with an outlet selling bottle of water maybe and snack other than quavers and mini cheddars at 2 quid a go. Would I stay again? yes if just two adults but no if I was not given a choice re sleeping on a fold out bed. You also need more than 4 disabled bays at the reception car park.. In fact more thought around people with helath issues and sleeping.

We paid for a deluxe room and we didn't get one, the room was tiny & it was absolutely nothing like the pictures online. The parking was absolutely terrible. At 3pm we struggled to find a place to park having to park extremely far from the main reception. We went to see the light show at Windsor park... upon our return there were no car parking spots & being disabled I had an absolute nightmare trying to walk to the reception in the dark & cold with no clear signs or lighting. Made all of this known to the reception team and all they said was there's nothing they could do because of the Christmas parties.i would not recommend staying here unless you're attending an event there. Double check you can park and if you have any mobility issues be mindful

Check-in was awful as we had to wait in the cold for ages in a queue that stretched out of the front door. Then my daughter and I were told we had 'requested' twin rooms which we did not do. We checked our booking and we had requested double rooms. My room was right next to a stairwell and the door banged all night. My daughter was given a 'dog friendly' room which had a dog bed in it and the room smelled like a 'dog' and her bathroom was a disabled wet room which she did not request!!

In my room the bathroom needed a good clean. There was hair in the basin and the bath so the bathroom hadn't been cleaned properly. There is a plant growing through the bathroom window and this needs to be cut back on the outside of the room! The pillows on the beds are truly awful! So cheap and lumpy!

And to top it all, we really struggled to find a parking at this venue! That was such a challenge. Large cars taking up two parking spaces. Why is no one policing this! Needless to say I would not want to ever stay at this venue again.

The buffet dinner and breakfast provided excellent value for money, especially with children. The hotel itself was absolutely massive but the staff were helpful and provided maps. The room was comfy and well heated, although sone of the corridors and communal areas were a bit cold. The pool the next day was very nice for kids, with lots of pool noodles and floats for them to play with (although the changing room was FREEZING!) we came away loving our stay and promising that we’d be returning

The staff were lovely. The main reception is way too far from the rooms and the layout of the hotel in general is very confusing. We had a large room with a very old fashioned heating system which meant that we were cold all night. Also the external window in the corridor outside our room was open (there was no way of closing it) and this meant there was a draught coming in to our room. I am unsure if there is a need for an external window to be open in the middle of winter!
Some of the ‘clean’towels in our room were heavily stained. The lack of literature in the room is annoying - there’s a QR code that is meant to provide all the info you need but it was very basic and didn’t even have the breakfast times down there. Lack of eating options - it could benefit from a cafe or make take out options to eat in the room. Room service would be a fantastic option to have.
Breakfast was fantastic - not too busy, plenty of choice and staff were friendly and helpful.

Amenities- our room was noisy due to a corporate event that was going to last until 12am and so we were moved to an inferior room which spoilt our stay. No offer of a refund of the difference until I had asked.
The receptionist handling it was very polite and professional but her colleague was not nor was the check in particularly welcoming. The hospitality industry should be just that- hospitable but I found the level of customer care poor.
Please be aware this hotel is used often for corporate events so the noise level could’ve an issue and access to areas ( Parlour room etc) might be limited. We wanted somewhere with good lighting to read our books but despite being a huge sprawling place there was nowhere.
Breakfast was poor value with inferior offerings and coffee. All in all not a place I would use again

Alex a manager takes time with each customer to make sure needs are met. The breakfast is one of the finest I have ever had. Cannot say enough good things about this establishment. Booked last minute as somewhere to stay after a day at Legoland.

Family of four with two and five year old children.

Managed to get a reasonable reduced price through hotels.com for a stay in an Academy Family Four room.

Check-in was pretty straightforward. Luckily we stumbled upon a car parking space quite close to the main entrance.

With a buggy and some luggage, it was a bit of a trek to the room. Multiple lifts and long corridors.

Room was ok. Bit tired in places (bath panel and sofabed in particular) and view out of the window was a wall. Sofabed wasn't setup so pulled out the bed and couldn't find any bedding. Went to reception, who arranged for the bed to be made up.

The main bed was reasonably comfortable but the sofabed was just about passable.

We aimed to eat in the bar area but this was full. As it turned out, after speaking to the staff, they helpfully advised we'd be better off going to the main restaurant.

It was £22 each per adult for an all you can eat buffett. The two kids were free. Selection was good and quality was the same. Not amazing, but for £22 you can't really complain too much.

Overall, I would be giving a lower rating if I'd paid full price. The cost would have been considerably more than a Premier Inn, and to be honest, based on the room alone is inferior in terms of comfort and condition.

Unfortunately I wouldn't recommend or return based on our experience. It's a huge site, nice grounds but just doesn't warrant the price.

For a deluxe room it wasn't as big has other hotel deluxe rooms. I reported that the tv couldn't pick up any terrestrial channels,bbc,itv and was basically brushed off by the person on the phone saying none of the rooms could we only had 3 watchable channels whe the tv chose to not freeze.

On arriving we could see there was a big wedding on. We asked reception to assure us there would be no noise disturbance as were were there for 1 night before an early flight from Heathrow. We actually got 2 hours sleep as the noise, loud music etc carried on until 3.45am. And contrary to what she told us we could hear everything in the section we were in.
Also, be aware that if you have luggage, you are not offered help and there were 2 flights of steps to carry up and down.
No room service or car food ( only crisps and nuts)?on a Saturday evening and if you left the hotel you needed to drive and the car parks were full of wedding guests, parked everywhere as spaces were full.
I actually would like a refund as this was the worst nights sleep in a hotel ever in my life.
Upon leaving we informed the receptionist of our awful experience and he told us the manager would contact us and would offer a refund…. Nothing 6 days later. It’s nice looking hotel, very convenient for Heathrow but a hotel where you can’t sleep is actually not fit for purpose.

It's very tired in places, carpets have seen a lot of footfall... Another hotel that is not putting any money back into the upkeep.
Pool was okay, but no toilet in the ladies changing room... If there was then it was locked. Partner ended up having to get dressed and go on a hunt through a packed (wedding party) bar.
My takeaway is that I am glad I didn't pay full price.

The hotel is too spread out. Despite requesting rooms close to each other our party was given two rooms at opposite ends on the building. My room was very warm and as it only had french doors which opened to the car park, I was unable to ventilate. The pork dish in the restaurant is extremely expensive for the portion size (the accompanying vegetables equated to approximately a tablespoon). Having stayed in other De Vere hotels this one did not live up to previous experience.

The estate is beautiful! There was a very large wedding going on and it still didn't feel crowded at all. I wish they'd have a bit of more accessible info (like a pamphlet) about the property and its history -- I mainly just had to read on wikipedia about it.
The room was terribly stuffy, though. There was no ventilation and you couldn't open the windows at all. It was cool weather outside, but the room was too warm even with the radiator turned off.

My Items were discarded before I had checked out

My room was serviced before I had checked out and items I had in the room had been removed including very confidential documents. I later recovered them but some of my items including toiletries and drink had been destroyed. I was told I could write to Guest relations but quite clearly a waste of time as it would not achieve anything for me personally or replace the items thrown away.

Finding a parking spot was not always easy as the complex is quite large.
Some of the cooked breakfast items were a bit overdone especially the fried eggs.

Fantastic hotel but more family orientated ?

Beautiful location and maintained to high standards. Everything worked as it should and we found it a relaxing stay. Gym and outdoor gym were very good. The Pool we didn't get to use as it was very family orientated so many children. So may not be perfect for couples but a great stay when visiting Windsor and the Castle.Not walkable distance though.
