Negatives were overwhelming - toilet was blocked and didnt get fixed, shower didnt close properly - water everywhere, bathroom door wouldnt close, the walls are paper thin, guests are loud and bang doors all throughout the night, bar/club plays loud music till late on weekends, not the cleanest room. Would avoid, im sure there are better hotels for the money.

Rooms are falling apart. Not maintained at all. Door handle to our bathroom was falling off, shower door didn’t close, toilet paper holder fell off, lamps wouldn’t turn on, very old carpeting in the hallways, etc. Check-in was chaotic, I don’t know if they were having trouble with their computer system? Great location but terrible rooms for the price we paid.

Historical Hotel with Awesome Service

The location is this hotel is super. But have to say my trip was pretty much ruined when I was locked out of my room on the last night. I had met friends who were over from Australia. Been out for dinner and returned to the room. Left my phone wallet. Popped upto their room and when I came back down the door wouldn’t open. After waiting in reception for almost an hour the door simply was locked shut and couldn’t be opened. I was then put in some kind of staff/reserve room. A single bad and no window. No ability to tell what time it was. No belongings of any kind. I was told I would get a call at 7-8am the next morning. The anxiety this caused me was unreal, not knowing when I’d get back in my room. Not knowing if I’d make my train back to London. And frankly the hotel staff didn’t seem to really care. No real apologies. The next morning, 8.30 no call so I head down and I tell them I was locked out. I get a sharp “yes” and then I have to ask what’s going on. So blaze, I’m told they are waiting for someone to come out but it could be 9 or later but not really sure. So I head back upto the room where I sit and wait. At around 9.40 I get a call saying I can now get back in my room. On checkout I ask for a refund for that night. Since I didn’t stay in the room I paid for. She goes to ask the manager he agrees but it needs to go through Expedia. You guessed it still no refund. Hotel not relishing and I’m left with a bitter taste of a trip. Not good enough on both fronts.

When we arrived we were told that they were placing us in a room that would be quieter because of the noise at a party on the street below. The room that we were put in was absolutely terrible and did not at all match the description of the room that we booked. It was absolutely awful. It was also still incredibly noisy from the party below. I complained to the staff but it was too late at night to change our room. The next day they did move us to a more appropriate room.

Loved the location in the Opera district, tugged away in a cute shopping aisle. 20-25 minutes walk to all the major sites. We got a very spacious room on the 4th floor, wiith a huge roof balcony. Air condition was so so, just local device not central. So had to use cross breeze of the fans during hot month of August.

A great short stay at BW Ronceray Opera. I stayed at the property for 2 nights (Floor 2), the hotel is in a fantastic area which is close to metro station Grands Boulevards (Line 8 9) as well as walking distance to many tourist spots. The room was clean, decent size and had all the necessary provisions, we stayed in room 201 which was at the front and limited noise from the road outside. Staff friendly and helped us with all our needs, Hot breakfast is a great option, cannot fault this hotel and would book again.

The hotel’s location is perfect. The metro station next door can take you pretty much to everywhere. The prissy bus station is also quite close to take you to the airport. If you are in the mood for walking, most sites within 20 minutes of walk. Many restaurants around. AND safe! I stayed at this hotel last time I visit Paris and very satisfied; hence, directly booked with them again this time.
The staff also very kind. I arrived early before 11am, and they still got me checked in with a nice room, 4th floor facing the city, great view! (Tip: the 5th floor does not have elevator; hence, if you travel with a lot of luggage, try to avoid it.)
The room is small, but you are traveling in Europe and given the great price the hotel offer, it is expected.
The only thing I don’t like is that the heating is far too warm; but I heard that it is the case in many hotels this winter. So not a complain towards BW itself.

The location is great with easy access to the metro. The room is reasonably quiet for the location and the price is great for being close to 4 metro lines (8&9 with a short walk to 3 to the south and 7 to the north), multiple small museums, and 15-20 min walk from the Louvre. They provided clean towels more frequently than they said they would (decreasing their eco-friendliness) but also did not replace spare toilet paper and coffee as needed. We had to go ask for more tp which they accommodated easily. There is a bakery right outside much cheaper than the offered breakfast. They have a fridge and coffee maker in the room which is great. The room keys did not work the best (especially for the hall door) but they replaced them each time we asked. You do need to know where you are going when looking for it as it is located in a passageway but if you are across the street you can see the name above the passageway. The closest metro stop is Grand Boulevard (lines 8 & 9) exit towards the Grévin Museum (passageway is to the left when looking at the museum).

Very nice view and the room is super clean.
I came 1 hour before the check-in time and asked if there was any chance for the early check-in. The Asian lady front desk was a rude and not friendly at all, she kept talking on the phone for really long time before helping the line. I understand not being able to check-in early but I don’t get the attitude. Later on, there was another lady helped me when I checked-in and also checked out the next day, she was very nice, helpful and attentive.

The hotel is conveniently situated for cafes and shops the breakfast is abysmal so don't bother go to a cafe it’s cheaper and fresher. The place was very clean, comfortable beds etc but it was a little tired. The handrail up to our room wobbled and look like it was about to collapse furniture in the room was also very tired. Staff were pleasant enough but didn’t really need there assistance.

The room was much bigger than expected, having a mezzanine. Having a fridge was also very useful! The only negative comment would be that the door's lock was quite stiff and at times difficult to close an open, but didn't really impact on our stay. Overall a lovely room and a lovely stay.

Just an okay stay

The room was smaller than other hotels I’ve visited and the room has a strong smell of wood. This hotel does have AC for each room, but there is a big blue light that shines from the unit and makes it difficult to sleep even with the black out curtains. The water temperature was inconsistent. One day the hot water would feel room temp and another day it would be scorching hot. The bathroom itself was nice and the beds were just okay (felt a bit old). The location was really really good, but it is difficult to get in once they lock the gate. Overall, would only stay 1 night here if needed and if you want to be close to lots of restaurants, cafes, shopping areas, and such.

AMAZING staff! Congrats!

First and most important: the staff is great! Jose, Jean and the lady who was working Sunday 2 January. They did everything they could to help us! They were just AMAZING. Also the lady (around 50 yo) who was cleaning the rooms… she was so happy and friendly and she left our room spotless!

Unfortunately, as a students we could not afford to pay for a better room with a good view … (the view was really depressive… but it’s all about money in the end… I know there is some good views there).

I just would like to leave here a suggestion: if is possible leave for the guests charges / adapter to cellphone. No problem at all if we have to pay a bit more this but could be great to have this option once just one usb is not enough for 2 people. :)

All the rest was really good. Again: the staff is precious!

Note for the guests: the hotel offer just soap in the bathrooms. So bring your stuff. (PS: the bathroom was extremely shine and bright! :)

Parisian Hotel at at Great Price

The hotel is centrally located on a busy tourist street with a large array of surrounding restaurants and a small supermarket in the same building.

The price was very reasonable and the room has a small mini-fridge for drinks, wine, and/or snacks from the supermarket.

The woman at checkout was extremely friendly/helpful, offered me coffee and called for a Taxi on my behalf. Taxi from here to the airport runs about 57 Euro (FYI) - fixed rate.

There are several metro stops on this street to take you around Paris and if you enjoy walking, it’s about 25 minutes to the Louvre.

Very Disappointing. Not Recommended.

My boyfriend and I made the mistake of booking this hotel. We stayed in Room 132, for starters the rooms do not look anything like the photos. The furniture is old and the room has barely any amenities. No toothpaste, shampoo bottles were provided. They gave us one small water bottle (500ml) for a room of two people. Two of the four lightning bulbs in the room were fused and there were barely any power sockets in the room. On our second day the air conditioning stopped working and we were told it cannot be fixed until the next day. We were given a small table fan as a replacement and we're told to make a choice of whether to charge our phones or use the fan since there were not enough power sockets in the room. There were condom wrappers and used ear buds behind the headboard when I moved it to look for sockets. The bath drain was not working and had to be held up to let the water out. I felt more relaxed before my stay at this "hotel" than I did while checking out. I did not expect this from a Best Western hotel.

horrible front desk woman.

i called ahead and spoke with a really nice man. He said we could check in early and there would be no problems as the hotel wasn’t full. We arrived at 9am to check in early and the front desk woman WAS SO RUDE. She screamed at us and told us we were wrong. She ripped my passport out of my hands. I explained to her that I was told I may check in early. She said impossible and I was wrong and lying. She said the hotel was completely full. I said I was told differently. She then grabbed my luggage and when I asked when I could finally check in she relied “no”. So I was confused and asked again and she glared at me and rolled her eyes. ABSOLUTLY UNACCEPTABLE. she was so rude and so terrible to us. We walked away in shock. I have never been treated so poorly by a person at a business. We came back later and a man was there he helped us and was very kind. The woman should not be working with customers if she is going to treat them with such blatant disrespect.

First this place was difficult to find. We went inside “passage Jouffroy” and nowhere could we find a best western sign through all the shops and store fronts. Until we finally went inside “hotel ronceray”and went to 1st level. We checked in on November 22 around 10:30am we were tired and frustrated and the Asian receptionist(couldn’t remember her name) was really rude and had a nasty attitude. The hallways were narrow. After 4th level no more elevator, only stairs. Room was small, as any Paris budget hotel. Heater worked great on a cold day, almost too warm. Beds were okay. Only complaint was shower head was not attached to wall, so had to use one hand to hold shower head while other rinsing out what was in hair. overall, fix shower head issue and fix receptionist attitude issue and it’s an okay place to stay.

Positives: Super convenient location in the middle of town with a M&S just downstairs and plenty of restaurants around the corner. Big Bus tour stopped right outside. Beds were super comfy and bathroom was very nice and modern. Price was good.

Cons: room was up on the 5th floor which to access required going down small hallways and then up a narrow flight of stairs (luckily didn’t have a big suitcase). Pretty sure you would never escape if there was a fire! Room was quiet from the street noise, but the exit door to the stairs banged so loudly every time it opened and closed (which was a lot when staff were cleaning the rooms because they can’t get the cleaning carts up there).

This hotel is in such a great location! We had a great stay because of its convenient location and comfortable rooms. The fifth floor requires a set of stairs inatead of elevator, but I found that charming. We also had an amazing view of Sacre Coeur!!
Very safe neighbourhood and great options for bars and restaurants, and the metro is steps away. If you want to see all the best sites of Paris, stay here.

The entrance to the property through the passageway is unique and just one of the many things that endear the place to me. It has one of the single narrowest hallways in a hotel I have ever seen. Very French.

We were greeted by a very friendly and helpful front desk concierge. He upgraded our room from a standard twin bed to a king bedtoomwith a balcony. This would have been fine but it was very warm outside and the air conditioner was broken. They graciously moved us to another room, which still had a king bed and the air conditioner worked but there was no hot water.
I’m sure if we’d contacted them they may have try to rectify it but it was late evening and we didn’t want to move rooms again as we had early start the next morning. That being said the bed was comfortable but the walls were thin. Thank goodness our neighbour was quiet.
The hotel is also very tricky to find as it’s located inside the passageway with no Best Western signage.

Save your money and lots of aggravation and stay away from this hotel. Ancient building with one extra slow elevator, cramped room with very damp moldy smell and non-working AC, no complimentary bottled water, minimal and poor quality bathroom amenities, very old towels. My room was not cleaned on second day, and when I complained to the old Indian guy in the front desk who claimed to be the manager he had the gall to be angry and annoyed. When I asked for his name he removed his name tag and refused to give his name. Never apologized for the dirty room and for his nasty and poor handling of complaint. Why is he in the hospitality service when he is totally not hospitable? Last time I will ever stay at a Best Western anywhere in the world. They should change the name to Worst Western Woe-tell.

Beautiful, Antique Hotel at an Affordable Price!

We really enjoyed our stay at Ronceray Best Western. It was cold and rainy while we were in Paris.
The shopping mall by the hotel was fun to explore while it was raining. Hard Rock Cafe was next door.
Hotel staff were very helpful. The breakfast was not included, but very convenient and excellent.

Decent hotel next to metro/restaurants/supermart

Conveniently located near to restaurants, supermarkets and pharmacy. Within ten minute walk to Galaries Lafayette. Grands Boulevard Metro is just one minute walk from doorstep. My twin room was just enough for 2 to move around but toilet/bathroom was clean and reasonably sized with rain shower. Small kettle was provided and complimentary bottle of drinking water provided only on first day. My room was facing the main room but was quiet as it was on the fourth room. Will stay again when in Paris.

Great location, definitely get a room for 3rd or 4th floor.
Unfortunately the hotel did not clean our room the next day and weren’t the only ones to complain.
The rooms are nice, would be nice to actually be provided proper toiletries like body lotion too if they state they provide toiletries.
Otherwise it was a pleasant stay and very secure. Absolutely great location to be within walking distance of the gorgeous museé louvre

Perfect location, perfect price, the room is pretty spacious for Europe and there are a lot of cute little places to eat or get a drink and close to metro stations!!!

Dirty, noisy, small, unfriendly.... The hotel is not a Best Western quality obviously. Extremely dusty! The air is full of dust. Upon check in, the room is already dusty and even after one day the room is dusty again! The bed and pillows are extremely uncomfortable. I suffered headache everyday in the morning. The bed was slightly slanted and short. Not recommended for anyone taller than 175cm (I’m 186cm).

My Parisian home away from home

I have become a regular at this hotel and I am in love with the location, and above all I feel like this place is my home away from home, breakfast is yummy, rooms are very clean, house keeping do a great job and the best part: the staff at this hotel, special shout out to Bouchda and Hoai, the girls at front desk who will go above and beyond to provide the best vacation experience. Looking forward to come back.

Don't listen to the good reviews

Unreliable room service and occurs way too late in the day. Body wash is seldom replenished (if ever) - you will have to shower on the hotel's schedule, whenever you receive it. I requested it in the evening but the reception did not have the key to access the closet. Went again the next morning and had to come down once more to actually have someone give me the body wash. Instant coffee packets are terrible and seldom replenished. Sometimes you get 1 coffee packet, sometimes 2, sometimes none. The room and bathroom is not very well cleaned. The A/C was off prior to our arrival. WIFI does not work at all. Reception staff is unhelpful. Thin walls. The TV is outdated and placed in a weird corner next to the window.
