We experienced poor customer service at Lautrec Opera. As first time visitors to Paris, our first point of contact tends to be hotel staff. our second night of the stay, the receptionist was upset that we requested to exchange our room towels simply because we had foregone housekeeping services that day.

We offered to bring the towels downstairs and pick up fresh ones from the front desk. When we came down she was yelling at us accusing us of declining housekeeping that day, which I tried explaining that the two things are not mutually exclusive: we can forego housekeeping and still request fresh towels. She kept saying I was wrong and grabbed our towels and threw them on the floor. I was shocked that she would behave in this manner and told her this is terrible treatment of your guests.

The next morning I spoke to the morning receptionist (male whose name was Olivio or Oliviano). I explained our experience and asked whether we could cancel the rest of our nights. Unsurprisingly, we would incur the costs for the rest of our stay. He made a comment about the towels— which I explained that at that point the towels were no longer an issue, that the way the receptionist treated us was unwarranted and made us feel uncomfortable.

When I asked for hotel’s manager name, he declined to provide me a name, and when I asked what time he or she would be here, he also refused. I was shocked again by the lack of transparency and accountability. Ran out of space to write. 1/10

Clean room, lovely staff, amazing location. The let down was we had a broken bathroom door which did not shut properly nor had a lock. Our door has a huge gap at the bottom so when there were loud people leaving at 7am we heard everything!! Other than that, a lovely hotel and would stay again!

Although the room was small, it was enough for my needs, and was cleaned every day. The area was close to the metro and I was able to use it to get to and from Gare du Nord with my one medium sized suitcase. Just be warned that if you do this, there are a lot of steps to lug your bags up and down. The hotel is also within walking distance of many eateries and places to shop. You could even walk to the louvre, which I did. I never felt unsafe out at night and the staff I dealt with were all friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again as a solo female traveller.

Good hotel. Staff are friendly and helpful. Bakery and places to eat just around the corner. The busy street is one block away and not noisy. Try to get a room in the above floors, I was in the first floor close to the main desk and in the morning at 7 you can hear everyone talking. Metro station just around the corner; download the metro app and it will be very easy to add tickets and enter the stations.

There was plenty of shopping options and food options near by, just a short walk away. The hotel was down a nice little quite street with not a lot of traffic. So you could sleep without all the street noise. Would stay again. Very safe neighborhood

I asked to check in early if possible. The man looked like he was checking me in. After copying my passport, he said, \"leave your bag over there and come back this afternoon.\" He wasn't friendly, nor did he assure me my bag was safe sitting in the lobby.
I had a great experience with the woman who checked me out. She was very friendly and supported me to secure a taxi on a very busy morning with no Ubers available. She went above and beyond.

This is my second time staying at this hotel, in a week. I had initially stayed for 3 nights, then went out of town, then returned again to stay at this hotel again. I really appreciated that they gave me a chamber room on the 3rd floor, as it had ceiling to floor doors for me to open up, step out abit, and gaze at my outside surroundings on my balcony. It is so romantic! I didn't have this same room on my initial stay. The front desk person helping me was very helpful too. I had some yogurt I did not want spoiled, as the mini fridge in my room didn't feel cold enough. They allowed me to place my yogurt in the lobby fridge, which is shared by other hotel guests. I didn't know that, and will utilize this service again next time. Also, the elevator was working during my stay. It was particularly difficult on my last day, to be lugging/hoofing my luggage all the way from the 3rd floor down to the lobby. I was worried I might trip and fall down the stairs, or twist my ankle. It just felt like the elevator wasn't a priority, when it should be. Otherwise, I would stay at the Lautrec again in the future. I just hope the elevator is fixed by then, and I get the same 3rd floor chamber room (room 331) again!

It was close to the metro station. Walkable everywhere. Close to grocery store, restaurants. The only thing I didn't like about the hotel is one of the staff member. Most of them were really nice and helpful, except for one. I wish I got his name, but didn't get the chance. He worked up on the front desk. I had just arrived....I had the taxi driver outside waiting because I wanted some change to tip the driver. I asked the front desk man. He said he has no change. Then the other front desk staff man said there was change for me. I've also had a couple more encounters with this unfriendly staff member, and felt uncomfortable around him. Otherwise, it's a good hotel, and will likely stay again, and stay away from that particular staff member.

A bare-bones, tiny but cozy and clean hotel suitable for short stays. If you are just in town as a busy, in-and-out tourist, this is really all you really need. The bed was super comfortable! However, a concrete wall is the main scenery you see from the window. Considering the price, I can't complain much. The negatives are: no microwave, the fridge does not get cold enough, the sink doesn’t drain well, and the walls are thin—you can hear your neighbors going to the bathroom.

Loved my stay at Lautrec Opera. Room was sufficient for 2 people. Breakfast was simple and enough for me. Best part was the water pressure in the shower. As always in older buildings elevator was small, fit 2 people with carry ons. Location is walking distance to the Louvre and Opera station if taking Rossibus from airport. Everything you need in a moderate price range

We were very pleased with the Hotel Lautrec Opera. It was in a perfect location, had comfortable beds, a friendly staff, nice breakfast, and good ambiance.
We knew it would be small, but felt it was a good value for the price we paid.
I would definitely recommend this hotel for people on a budget who want to be close to lots of attractions, and public transport.

But however, I was a bit dismayed by the washroom's bathing facilities with no shower curtain or screen whatsoever. I didn't use it often, but I did find it a little bit off. However, I did find the place was decent enough and would (slightly) consider booking there again.

Very basic hotel with poor hygiene in rooms.

Mirror was hanging off the wall when we went in, shower head was split at base so sprayed water all over you when in use, tiles smashed in shower. Generally dirt and dust present in room.

The walls are thin. You could hear conversations from other rooms, other room doors opening and the stair door/elevator doors slamming at all hours.

Does not match pictures. We only used this for sleeping and showering as we left early and got back late or would have demanded refund and moved hotel.

The hotel is located near the opera house in Paris. The location is excellent and very safe . The metro and the bus service is around the corner. The city tourist bus is 5 minutes walking distance. The hotel staff is helpful and friendly. You get a room and a bathroom. The room has a comfortable bed. You sleep like a baby. The shower and bath is great. You have hot water. The room is cleaned and set everyday. The room has a closet, a safe, a table chair and a tv with internet.
The only complaint that my wife had is that there was no iron to iron the clothes. We had a great time in Paris and the hotel was part of this wonderful unforgettable experience.

I wouldnt say it was in a great area or a bad area. I booked this hotel as it was between the marathon start line and the Eurostar train station. So for me it was convenient. I got around on bike a lot so anywhere would have been fine.
This is a very simple, no frills hotel so don't expect too much and you won't be disappointed. Rooms are fine, bed is ok, not the most comfortable but better than the floor.

The hotel is very well located, like 3 blocks from a Metro station, surrounded by other hotels, restaurants, attractions, etc. It does have elevators, small ones, but good enough.
The room had a good size, with a refrigerator, electric kettle, etc but what I had a big complaint about was the shower, because it had a moveable shower head that wouldn't stay in its place while showering, it would slide down, so it was very uncomfortable to take showers. The only good thing is that it had also a tub, so after a long day walking, you could fill the tub and rest.
We didn't have breakfast in the hotel because it seemed they didn't offer much for what they charged. We bought some food in a supermarket or in restaurants and the person in the front desk did let us use the microwave.
About the staff: There was only one guy, like Indian, that wasn't very good at his job, didn't speak English very well nor Spanish, he wasn't attentive, etc but the ther 2 we saw were nice enough.

Our stay was average at this property. It was our first time in Paris and the Hôtel is located in a great area to explore the city. The check in process was simple and easy. The elevator is very small, the bathroom was pretty dated and the toilet seat lid was broken. No fan in the bathroom. The walls are very thin and you can hear everything going on in the hallway.

Only issue being the heat was centrally controlled displaying 26 degrees and had to ask for this to be lowered to sleep at night, which it was … very central and ideal if arriving late - as decent takeaways restaurants very nearby … not good for those less mobile …

Great place!

The hotel is in a great location on a quiet street. The rooms have been remodeled and were clean and comfortable. It was nice to have a kettle with tea and instant coffee in the room. There were extra pillows and blankets in the room, too. I never ate breakfast at the hotel, so unsure how that was. The metro station is just a block away from the hotel, so very convenient. I stayed for 4 nights and had a great time and would definitely come back. The one thing that was a hassle was that the elevator was broken the entire 4 days I was there, so I had to go up and down 4 flights of stairs every day. I didn’t mind the exercise, but that might be a problem for some people. Overall, it’s a nice place to stay!

Dear Manager

I hope this message finds you well. I recently stayed at your hotel, room My Room ]46 from [Check-In date 13th to [Check-Out 15 of October ], and I felt compelled to share my experience with you.

During our entire stay, the elevators were out of service. We were on the 4th floor, and the inconvenience of having to climb the stairs was not what we expected from a hotel of your caliber. We inquired at the front desk, and the response we received was that it would be fixed \"tomorrow.\" Unfortunately, this promise was not fulfilled.

Another issue we encountered was related to the breakfast. We had paid for breakfast as part of our reservation, but on the last day, for unexpected reasons, it was not provided. We spoke to the manager at the front desk, expressing our disappointment and suggesting that it would have been a good gesture to compensate for the elevator inconvenience. Regrettably, the response was a firm \"no.\"

I must say that the combination of the elevator issue and the unmet breakfast expectation left a very negative impression. I had hoped for better service, especially considering the reputation of your establishment.

I believe it's essential for your management to be aware of these issues so that improvements can be made.

The hotel definitely looked a bit “worn out” and could use some touching up. But overall it filled its function and was ok. I wouldn’t recommend anyone to have breakfast included since it’s very basic. Go out and eat at a café instead for a nicer breakfast at about the same price. The location was PERFECT though so would stay here just for that. Super close to à metro line which you should look for when going to Paris. Also a good walking distance to many nice sights and neighborhoods.

The first two nights I was in a room that had a window that was part of a shaft it went up seven floors it was gloomy I have no idea if the sun was shining or if it was raining. I was moved to a room the street street side and that was much better.

Review of Hotel Lautrec

Hotel Lautrec was charming, clean and had wonderful guest service. My room was lovely and quiet. It was clean with a comfortable bed. In addition, the bathroom though small, was equipped nicely and serviced my needs. There is a good working elevator so although I stayed on the 5h floor, it was fine. Nice breakfast and staff helped me get a cab the next morning . Highly recommend

The receptionist intentionally mislead customers to consume their breakfast. When we checked in on the first day, he told us there is daily breakfast downstairs which we can go. We thought it was complimentary and went every day in our stay. When we checked out, the same person asked if we had had breakfast everyday downstairs and still we didn't know they would charge us for that. He asked if we had breakfast today yet if not then we should go and have it then we can check out. Well, again we went and finally we gave us a bill with 15euro per person per day. And what they serve was eggs, cereal, croissant which always ran out. Not to mention some other cold food which I didn't even bother to touch. I wouldn't say it was all their fault, but I had to say their service was quite poor and he was trying to earn an extra 30 euros (me and my friend) on our last day before we check out. He obviously knew we didn't know but still. Our faces were shocked when we saw the final price and his attitude made us even more mad. He said \"well it is all stated here\" (referring to a small price tag on the table in french with small english words on the counter). Who would even bother to look at this on the day of check in. He had NEVER mentioned this to us. We know we do responsible to ask for the price too. But 15 euros per person per day, really? It costs even more than a restaurant. I have sent a complaint to the hotel with no response. I would not recommend this to anyone.

Good Price-point, location handy to Le Louvre.

The staff all speak reasonable English. My elevated room (converted room attic) was quirky, yet very comfortable. Odd that no coffee/tea facilities provided but that appears normal in Paris. No ability to prepare food in the room.
The ceiling beams limited headspace for half the room.
Bathroom was very nice and clean - but I found it odd that no shower-anti-spash curtain was fitted?
Stairway to loft landing in room would not suit the fragile or semi-disabled or physically large as it was extremely steep and very, very narrow - actually had no utility but was quirky and quaint.
There was no iron or ironing board provided - or laundry service (commercial laundromat was nearby).
The elevator fitted only one person and a large suitcase at a time.
The hallways are so narrow that moving past people would become very personal.
The buffet breakfast was very nice - great range, quirky ambience/location down in converted/recovered underground cellars.
Staff were very helpful at all times. I would use this hotel again now knowing I would have to eat out for all drinks/meals.

Good stay

This is a small quiet hotel. The rooms are compact and bare but the beds are comfortable,it's very clean and the staff were very helpful. We weren't there to spend time in the room. Walking distance to most sights. We would go there again.

Very Positive Parisian experience

It was very nice indeed. Staff were friendly and the room was excellent. It's very centrally located so I was able to walk most places. They offered to store luggage which I know most hotels do but their customer service was spot on. I would recommend it without hesitation to anyone else. Throw in that its Toulouse Lautrec's old home and reputedly an ex brothel and you can't get more Parisien than that!

Excellent location but...

Last winter I stayed at hotel Icone which is right next to Lautrec. Icone was full so it was easy for me to say at this hotel then because it is in a very good neighborhood and close to all agencies I was visiting.
The room size is ok for Paris standars, but it is very old. I'm very easy going but what was really not ok was the construction going on right outside of the hotel. I know it is not up to the hotel to decide but they should have warned us or at least changed rooms. I was away most of the day but when I had to go back to the hotel it was really horrible. Workers were outside of my window doing as much as noise as you can imagine. No privacy at all.
Next time, I'll stay at hotel Icone as it is a newer building, so much nicer and of course will make sure there's no constructions going on in the area.

Stay here if you plan to be all day outside.

The hotel is categorized as a 3-star hotel but I would give it a 2 or 1.5. It is very small and in the elevator, only 2 people fit well. It is an old hotel without any renovations. The rooms are very small and the bathroom was awful: everytime I flushed the toilet, it spilled water out all around and in the tub, there was no holder, so to get into the tub was a dangerous adventure. Ask for the remote control at the front desk, otherwise, nobody will tell you that the TV has a remote control. I had the impression of being in a dirty place all the time. Sometimes, it smelled like urine. It is the place to go back at night, sleep and get up early and out, the next morning.

Os quartos são minusculos, chegando a causar claustrofobia. Estão no entanto bastante limpos. A localização do hotel é otima e esse é o ponto forte do hotel.
