Atlantis is a magical place. I went there 25 years ago when it was new, and returned again now to find it as impressive, awe inspiring and charming as before plus many new amenities. Now the bad part: This is by far one of the most expensive hotels I've even been to. There is no escape of the horrendous price gouging in this facility. For example, I went to Murrays (ONE OF THE CHEAPEST, of not THE cheapest restaurant on the property) and a tomato soup was $12 - for half a bowl alone. If you want a grilled cheese added: $6 more - and what I got was HALF, HALF a grilled cheese made with standard Sandwich bread and a single, sorry, HALF a slice of cheese. Gratuities are included in tickets, yet the machine and servers always ask to add it - on top of the one you already were charged for. My Murrays ticket: 1 plain hotdog, 1 small soup, 1/2 sandwich and 2 cokes: $65 + Tips. Now imagine the Signature Restaurants... We went to Fish by Jose Andres and while the food was great (8/10) it was uninspiring and even more expensive of course. Prepare for a $350+ meal for 2 if you go App, Plate, Side, Dessert and 2 drinks. Meals under $20 per person are impossible anywhere.

Staff on the other hand is 10/10. Everyone is helpful, nice, remember your face and assist you with care.

The property is gorgeous and the Atlantian theme is striking yet not tacky cheesy. It is so well done that is believable, romantic, gorgeous.

Too bad greed always damages everything.

Wow I wish I had more days to enjoy this property. It is very big, so many things to do. They did an upgrade to our room so we got pool and ocean view which was great. The hotel has a casino inside, stores, restaurants, the beach is beautiful (a little bit far, but because of the size of the hotel), quiet, relaxing, white sand, clear blue water, OMG, definitely coming back.

We stayed at the West Royal Tower. The carpets were dirty in the hallways. The deadbolt didn’t work. Half the rides were closed each day. Staff was nice. Food is very expensive and the breakfast options were lacking. Crossed it off my bucket list but won’t be back.

Atlantis is a spectacular property. The sheer scale of the resort, the incredible marine habitats, and the thrill of the waterpark are completely unmatched. Walking through the Dig and seeing the sharks up close was a massive highlight, the beaches are pristine, and the grounds are beautifully maintained.
However, our vacation took a turn for the cinematic when the resort experienced a power outage. Normally, a brief blackout is a minor inconvenience—unless you happen to be stuck inside an elevator when it happens.
Yep, I was trapped in a pitch-black elevator mid-floor when the grid went down.
It was a nerve-wracking, claustrophobic experience waiting for the backup systems and staff to coordinate. While I was safely extracted in the end, communication from the resort during the immediate aftermath could have been much sharper given the size of the property.
Atlantis is absolutely a bucket-list destination with world-class amenities. Just maybe take the stairs if it looks stormy, or pack a little extra patience just in case!

5 days at the Royal. Everything was excellent except the afternoon Security guards treating like crap as you returned to your suite. Dining was hit or miss. Best restaurants would serve one great meal and a second you couldn't eat . Loved the water park. Beach was overcrowded with locals trying to rent you a jet ski.

The check-in experience was poor and cold; I mentioned that I have Platinum status and Expedia and am usually allowed early access to the room—especially since I was with a friend and two babies—but the staff’s attitude was very cold and unfriendly. When checking out, I requested an extra hour to vacate the room—it was barely 9:00 AM—but when I went back up, they were already cleaning it, and I couldn't get back in. The hotel is nice, but the staff is not up to the standard expected for the price.

Our yearly family vacation it was great. The staff was able to accommodate us with connecting rooms for our family of 8 we had a great view from our balconies the rooms were cleaned every day. You have a great selection of restaurants throughout the property also shops if you like shopping for all kinds of gifts. The Waterpark was an amazing experience we loved it, they also have many events for kids like teen disco, karaoke, etc. Don't forget to visit pig island too 🐷definitely enjoyed our time there!

I am at room 14-574--we have to tell you we are very dissapointed--we came here thinking we would have no issues on the 3rd of July--as soon as we got here the regular elevator in the west wing was down, then the power went out. We had to use the service elevator stuffed like sardines. We could not get to our room. When we tried to order food by the pool, there was only 1 person working the pool area...just 1...took us over 90 min to get food from them. How do you have 1 person working the entire pool??--My kids needed to nap and take a shower. This was not possible until much later. Then when we did change and try and go out to eat, everything was closing and could not get any food. We had to eat at shake shack. Then when we finally went upstairs the tv did not work in our room. We called downstairs and they said they were working on it. The following day almost 24 hours later they still did not fix the tv. I had to call service again and finally they fixed it...almost 24 hours later. The 1 jecuzzi you have we went to use it and its broken and cold water. It does not work. These things are the bare minimum of stuff that should be working without any issues. I am demanding a partial credit for this at the very least. I am not very happy--please rectify the situation.d

Atlantis exceeded every expectation we had. From the moment we arrived, it felt like stepping into another world. The resort is absolutely stunning, with beautiful beaches, crystal-clear water, immaculate grounds, and more activities than we could fit into one trip.

What truly sets Atlantis apart is that there’s something for everyone. Our children were completely captivated by Aquaventure, the incredible marine habitats, and the endless pools, while my wife and I loved the outstanding restaurants, luxury shopping, and simply relaxing in such a beautiful setting.

The staff was consistently friendly, professional, and eager to help. The entire property was clean, safe, and exceptionally well maintained. Every day brought a new adventure, yet it was just as easy to slow down and enjoy the breathtaking views.

Yes, it’s a premium destination, but the value comes from having an entire world-class vacation experience in one place. There is simply nothing else like it.

If you’re considering Atlantis, stop thinking and book it. It isn’t just a resort—it’s a destination that creates lifelong family memories. We left already talking about our next visit.

Our room was in very poor condition. The internet didn't work. We were without power in the room on Friday from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Several times, the elevators were out of service, and we had to use the emergency stairs. Unfortunately, given the circumstances we experienced, it is unlikely we will stay at this hotel again.

There was a power cut for more then 2 hr on 3 July. There was no info system to inform hotel guests. Hallways had no emergency light and some guests were stuck in elevators. This is not expected for such a resort. The rooms had no info on what do do in an emergency. I would have expected a better information flow.

The staff was rude. No matter where we went, from dining, to water park, to just overall staffers, we encountered sub-par service. The inattentiveness is un-real, constantly having to repeat yourself because the staff wants to \"shoot the breeze\" with each other while you try to get service. I couldn't believe it considering the cost to stay at this resort. The atmosphere is beautiful however the service leaves much to be desired. There is much opportunity for training and improvement. I didn't feel like a valued guest.

Dear Atlantis Guest Services and Management & Expedia,

I am writing to request a formal review of the numerous service failures my family experienced during our recent stay. This was our first visit to Atlantis, and while we arrived excited and hopeful, the stay quickly became stressful, inconvenient, and far below the standard expected of a resort of your reputation.

From the outset, the resort felt significantly overcrowded with cruise‑ship tourists. At no point did staff explain which areas were reserved for hotel guests, and we only learned this through other visitors. When we asked staff for clarification, the responses often felt dismissive, as though our questions were an inconvenience.

More concerning were the conditions of our room. Upon arrival, it was clear the room had not been cleaned properly. We found seeds on the floor and even a tool (something sharp enough for our 3 year‑old to pick up). This is a serious safety issue. Additionally, we had no bar soap, no body wash, and on Friday, July 3rd, we were left with no towels at all.

The situation escalated dramatically on the day the power went out on July 3rd. Not only were we unable to return to our room or access food, but there was no communication whatsoever from staff about what was happening. We repeatedly saw shops closing, restaurants shutting down, and employees leaving their stations, yet no one could tell us what was going on or

We traveled to Atlantis the end of May. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite, which is ideal for our family of 5. The waterpark keeps our kids entertained all day, and my younger 2 kids love the various activities (bingo, pool games, etc...). There are plenty of food and beverage options (including Starbucks, Nobu, Fish, Carmine's), just be prepared for the higher prices. If Atlantis is in your budget, your kids will love it! I think for the price some improvements can be made (including bringing back the meal plans), but we would definitely consider staying again in the future.
Favorite places to eat:
1. NOBU (although the server tends to make or break the experience)
2. Fish (their tasting menus are delicious!)
3. Murray's Deli (great for lunch)
4. Amber (great steak options and in the casino, so if you like to gamble, you are steps away)

Least Favorite place to eat:
1. Carmine's (since their move from the previous location, food quality has greatly declined...food was bland, and even though the cheapest option, I would skip it)

Side note: pack lots of sunscreen, you can always bring it back home. If you run out 1 bottle is like $30+

The staff was either great or terrible. Some of the staff were the nicest, kindest, and happiest people I've ever meet, but there were other who were awful and treated my daughter and her friends really bad. We were told by one of the bartenders that she wasn't paid enough to charge us correctly when she over charged my daughter for a drink and when brought to her attention she refused and asked if we wanted her to get her manager. There was also a scary moment when the alarm in our room went off and said \"staff is investigating your area\". There was pipe bust on the 7th floor that flooded everything including the elevators. That wasn't too bad once we figured out what was going on, just seemed on brand for Atlantis.... felt like we were sinking or something. The ground are beautiful, but finding things was difficult. Most things were not marked on signs of how to get places, and they don't give out maps. Guest should check their bills when checking out. They tried to charge us for 2 days of having more than 4 devices connected to the internet. We had to adjoining rooms with a total of 7 people so that was an error, unless they counted how they didn't have one of our rooms ready at check in, and so we all had to have all of our stuff in one room and wait there for the other room to be ready a couple hours later. They said they would remove the charge, and even printed out the corrected bill showing the removal of the fees, but they still charged my credit card.

Our family of four had a Royal Suite for 8 nights. We booked our trip six months in advance to ensure a nice size suite on an optimal floor. Three days into our stay the A/C broke in one of the bedrooms, and despite our preference to make due & stay in the current location we all had to repack & move to a much smaller royal suite on a lower floor in a less desirable area. Wasted half a day of our vacation & no compensation was granted. Additionally, since our booking in January there was a policy change to limit access to the beach by The Cove hotel where the snorkeling provides the best views of turtles and other sea life. We were stopped by security and weren’t permitted to walk through certain convenient direct paths to the beach and had to walk at least an extra half mile back the way we came & around the pools to get to the beach. My husband later collapsed from heat exhaustion, which was very scary and very likely the result of all the extra walking. When I booked the vacation, there was one 21 & over pool at The Cove hotel that was private. It seems the property is giving increasingly special treatment to that hotel. Regardless if you spend $30k+ on your vacation, you may be treated as a 2nd class citizen. I would have booked at the Cove hotel if I was aware of the policy changes and imbedded hierarchy. Unfortunately that hotel is inconvenient to the majority of the property, casinos, & restaurants like Nobu. Our overall experience was disappointing for what we paid.

Beautiful resort with plenty of activities to keep the whole family entertained. The staff was incredibly friendly, and our room was cleaned every time we left, making it especially nice to return to after a day of activities.

The restaurants were on the pricey side, but the food was delicious and well worth the cost. One tip: I highly recommend stopping somewhere to pick up bottled water before arriving.

Overall, I would highly recommend this resort and would gladly stay here again.

We loved Atlantis and definitely plan to be back again! There is so much to do that a week was not enough. Some of the staff could definitely benefit from customer service training, as some were very rude. I would say 95% of the staff was friendly, when you pay as much as you do for this resort you expect ALL staff to be friendly. But this was not bad enough to keep us from going again. The waterpark was so much fun, the rooms were very clean, and the marine life was gorgeous everywhere you went.

Atlantis looks great from the outside and does have many amenities but it is very limited in the way that it is done. For an establishment that you have to pay for every single thing and that is really massive, there is only one place to get your wristbands issued and one pool towel station. Majority of the staff are unhelpful and unwelcoming. None of the staff seems to be on the same page. First big issue was that my family wanted to set up a photoshoot and the website has an \"opportunity\" to do that. However, apparently there is no photo department and the staff at the front are unaware of that, even though it is 2 minutes away from their desk. On the first day I thought the shower was not draining properly and when I pulled the shower plug, there was huge clump of hair from the most recent prior visitors (I hope!). Additionally, in my room, there were multiple power surges and tv remote was not working. You may be thinking why did I not complain? I did, and not a thing was done. I must go back to this. To a country that is big on tourism, the hospital staff are super unfriendly and unhelpful. On our second day, there was a leak from the 8th floor that went all the way to the ground floor. Hundreds of vacationers had to jump over or walk through this water. There was no wet floor sign placed and no urgency to rectify the situation. Lastly, there was a day that the elevators were not working and the staff stationed nearby didn't have the zeal to tell the patrons waiting.

The property was upscale. So much to do and see. We didn’t venture from the area, other than one day of scuba diving. Plenty of good food, though expensive. All sorts of slides and rapid water adventures. Also snorkeling and plenty of swim areas to swim and lounge. Most impressive were all the magnificent, vast areas of fish life on display all over.

If you are looking for transportation?? Valencia with Global Integrity Taxi and Tours was absolutely wonderful!!! My driver (whom I booked through Expedia) didn't show up!! After waiting 40 minutes at airport, I went to find another ride... And I found Valencia!! She took us to the hotel, took us to 2 additional excursions we had planned and took us back to airport! Always on time and so reliable!!! And full of information about the Island!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND HER!!!!!!

We chose the Royal Atlantis because of the reviews and proximity to things we wanted to do. Upgraded to an ocean view as well. I was a little disappointed with how uncomfortable the beds were and shocked the tub had large amounts of paint chipped off of it from previous repainting job.

We ordered room service a few times. The second time the food was 2 hours late. Had to call operator to find out about it and there was no compensation; which was shocking, especially when they get an automatic 15% gratuity and convenience fee added.

Ended up having a pair of my shoes come up missing as well.

It was upsetting their cigarette stations were along paths of high traffic areas making it hard to breathe.

If I had it to do again I would stay at the comfort suits and just have the free benefit of the Atlantis wrist band instead of staying there as I thought it was going to be immaculate.

There was a cockroach in the bathroom and no makeup mirror. Was told they ran out of makeup mirrors. The shower pressure was very weak and was told it is due to having an old shower head.
There was some kind of slime that you can scrape off on the toilet door handle.
They also got rid of clocks.

Would not recommend this place.

Access to the water park from this hotel was ideal. Always something to do there. You will not get bored. However, food is extremely expensive with a 10% tax and automatic 15% tip even for fast food options. There are grocery stores near by but they are still expensive. The food wasn’t that great and we tried many restaurants there.

Great water park and cove beach area for families. Has a more open beach for adults. Has several restaurants, shopping and a casino. Food and drinks were higher than state side, but everything is higher here. There was a local grocery store within walking distance of the resort. Soda fountains and water fountains are free at the water park if you have a cup or container. Over all it was a great family trip.

The hotel was spotless, elegant, and well-equipped to cater to everyone’s needs. The water park, attractions, and beaches were breathtaking and beautiful. We stayed at the Royal Towers, which made it easy to access all the amenities.

The food at all the restaurants we visited was fantastic. Most of them offered free meals for children under five, which was a huge plus for us. There’s also a mini market inside the Atlantis Royal Towers that stocks essential items like snacks, soda, medicine, and other necessities.

The only thing to keep in mind is that food isn’t included in the stay and can be quite expensive, especially considering the 25% fee charged on every purchase. However, if you’re mindful of your spending, it shouldn’t be a major concern for your vacation.

My family had an amazing time and we’ll definitely be returning in the future when my child is older so he can enjoy all the water rides and other water attractions.

The resort is pretty big. We really loved all the different options the hotel has to offer. We didn’t have to leave the resort. We really enjoyed all the marine life, we were able to see a morning feeding and learned a lot! We loved the two beaches, the water park, dolphin cay, mini golf, all the different restaurants and the Casino! Lots of options to fit everyone’s needs.

The resort is wonderful and has a beautiful layout of landscaping, Pools, and the adventure waterpark! We really enjoyed our visit! All the restaurants we went to the food were delicious and the service was impeccable! The only thing the only thing that needs improvement is the aquarium that has the tunnel that you walk through, the glass was very dirty, and the water was foggy. I gave this review directly to Atlantis at checkout.

On our floor there was an ice machine and water fill station and every night before bed I would fill the complimentary water bottles and the yeti cups that we brought with us with ice and water. I turned the refrigerator to the coldest setting and in the morning they would be almost frozen. We also brought a thermal backpack where we would keep them while we enjoyed the water park and we would have cold water all day.

Room was not the best. The shades were very dirty, the room smelled like mold, the AC window was very dirty. The bathroom had a very strong smell like a sewer and it made the room smell very bad as well. It was a construction project going on that started every day from 8am until 4pm. Saturday as well. 😳

We loved the outside, water slides and Lazy River, great. We love the resort concept but unfortunately the smell and the noise didn’t help at all to make it the best memories for my birthday.

The Royal Tower has the most updated rooms. But there is no kitchenette or microwave which is a nice convenience for the Reef tower. If you want to save money by cooking and heating up leftovers, I would recommend Reef over Royal. The pros to the Royal tower is it’s central to Atlantis, and you don’t need to take shuttles; everything is walkable. Ocean view rooms are amazing! We were in 15-522 and the view is breath taking. You have a perfect view of the ocean and the resort, you can see predator lagoon and mantas and sharks swimming from your room. And the staff are slightly nicer and a little more flexible when entering the hotel with wet swimsuit attire on. The access to the water park is right at your door step vs other towers (Reef, Coral, Cove). If you are traveling with kids or teens, I would recommend Royal Tower and a room with ocean view if budget is not a concern.

We just wrapped up a week at The Royal Atlantis, and honestly, it fell way short of what you would expect for the crazy prices they charge.

I am calling this place Shake Down Island because it felt like they were nickel and diming us at every turn.The staff was unbelievably rude the whole time. For that kind of money, you would probably be better off with a private rental or villa instead. At least you would avoid the poor service.

Accessibility was a total nightmare, especially with a stroller (and I cannot imagine how tough it would be for anyone in a wheelchair). The elevators were constantly broken or unreliable, so we ended up carrying the stroller up multiple flights of stairs way too many times. You would think a so called family friendly resort would make that a top priority, but nope.

Housekeeping was another letdown. In seven nights, they only cleaned our room once and that was only after I called down to request it. Daily cleaning should be automatic at these rates.
The food quality was nowhere near worth the price they were charging, either. Just overpriced and underwhelming.

Oh, and when we checked out, I spotted $120 a day charged for a room upgrade we never asked for or got. Luckily I caught it and got it fixed before leaving. Make sure you review those bills carefully before you depart!

Overall, the place has potential, but these issues really soured the experience. Just something to keep in mind if you are planning a trip.

The resort and surrounding property was beautiful. Expect to do a large amount of walking. If you're not looking to swim with the pigs or go downtown, the resort has enough amenities to keep busy. We really enjoyed the pools and beach. The room was clean and nice. The staff was friendly and accommodating. On-site restaurants are a little pricey for meals that are your average,
everyday food. Overall experience was good and I would recommend Atlantis as a nice vacation spot

The property could use a cleaning, some repairs in areas on both the inside and outside and some upgrades. It was an overall pleasant stay, but it looked like it hasn’t received any upgrades or repairs since it opened.
