The evening meal available consisted of a vegetarian or meat three course meal presented as a buffet.I thought the quality and value for money was excellent.Staff in the restaurant were very helpful and attentive as were all other staff in the hotel. I enjoyed my stay whilst attending a conference nearby.

The main rooms are in a brick built extension that looks more like a premier inn that a lovely lodge like the pictures!!!
Water leak in the reception on arrival.
Reception staff not that helpful in explaining breakfast times or how to get to the room.
Executive double Room was clean on initially walking in, thought dated in its appearance. 2 bottles of water in the fridge that was switched off.
Kettle. Coffee machine. Large pedestal fan. Windows had limited opening hinges and lock staps on the windows both opened due to the radiator being stuck on as the radiator thermostat valve was broken due to its age. Coffee sprayed on the roof and some big holes in the walls
Limited wardrobe space due to trousers press and ironing board being in there as well.
Bathroom was clean and tidy, but damaged mermaid board on the walls no glass and a missing toilet roll holder where again a disappointment.
WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THE BREAKFAST £9.99 a morning, coffee from single serving sachets. Bacon was bits, sausages where tray baked but not turned so white and skins peeling off, constantly running out of fried eggs beans tomato plates and you where lucky to get seated as they blocked half the dining area off.
Plenty of Chesterfield seating areas. Over a 3 day stay the room was not cleaned or the coffes re-filled.
Over all a disappointment, not what we thought we where getting, lack of cleaning, and the overall run down appearance lack of caring staff and poor food

The staff hardly spoke or were helpful at all only one said morning to us. We asked for extra pillows but these never arrived. We were told breakfast was from 7 but it was 8 and when we went at 7.50am we were met with sighs all in all it was one of the most expensive rooms I have ever booked and the worst customer service

Hotel booked last minute to attend a concert at Coventry Arena. Felt it was expensive for 1 night, but booked as previously booked property fell through. Walkable to the stadium (about 50 mins).
Hotel looks good from outside but rooms need some updating. Some of the communal areas need a good clean and decorating. Free parking (need to register details) and a charge for the swimming pool.
Room was large and clean. Door not soundproof. Nice grounds

Arrived at lunch time and on check in told “we don’t do food” for lunch. Not sorry sir im afraid we don’t offer lunch but - Don’t do food as a response was just rude. What was funny is there is a sign on the hotel door saying no food and drink to be brought into the hotel.

Went to the bar where there was a sign up offering sandwiches so though oh maybe reception didn’t realise. Then got told by the bar staff that the menu was not for normal hotel guests and we werent allowed it. So again very rude as they were also offering Afternoon Tea if you had booked.

Went to use the pool and changing rooms undergoing refurbishment which is fine but we were told to go and change in hotel room and come back. So they wanted us to walk through the hotel in swimming costumes from the 3rd floor. Again very odd and staff quite rude about this.

The room itself was nice and clean and the hotel is set in some nice grounds, it’s a bit dated in areas which may explain some of the refurbishment but we had no warning of this.

Disappointing stay, especially for the price, wouldn’t say this was value for money.

The room was clean and spacious, the girl on reception was cheerful, friendly and very helpful
The only reason I marked the hotel down was because of the breakfast most of the items needed topping up and they had run out of bacon ( this was with still a hour still to go) also the morning staff didn’t seem very helpful
The outside bar area also needs a bit of gardening maintenance
The hotel setting was lovely and very convenient for the Coventry arena and very reasonable price

The bath was dirty, there was a hole in the bathroom door, and a dent in it too.
The toilet flush failed at one point and there was no maintenance person on site till the morning. Thankfully it rectified itself.
No plug in the sink.
The TV didn't work, we tested the socket and it was the socket that didn't work.
One of the 2 bedside table lamps didn't work (and was an ancient 2 pin plug!)
There was no information in the hotel room about facilities, when things opened, when food was etc. There were some instructions on using the TV which said to refer to the information guide provided (but it wasn't!)
We arrived at teatime, and found the food choices limited. We had to ask for plates, as they had run out. The \"choice of puddings\" was actually the chef's choice of one, although it varied through the course of the meal. When we got to pudding it was black forest gateaux, which neither me nor the kids fancied. Staff lady was helpful and found me a tin of peaches, so I was happy!

The swimming pool wouldn't let the children swim (ages 14 & 11) until after 10am. (we were staying overnight) which was a real shame, as it was one of the reasons we had chosen the hotel.

Over all it felt dated, unloved and in need of a cash investment. A shame as it would've been amazing in its heyday.

Lights and extractor fan not working in the room. Reports of worms in the swimming pool by other guests. However, we didn’t see any worms and thought the pool and leisure facilities were fine. Moved to a different room due to lights and fan not working then ended up with bed bug bites from the mattress. (Confirmed by pharmacist) wrote a complaint to hotel about this but received no response. Would not be staying there again. Expedia tried to help with some form of refund but hotel didn’t reply to them either.

Selected uncleaned areas found in bedroom , very low budget furniture used. Tv unwatchable due to pixilation on every channel.
Two bus tours prioritised over other guests .went without dinner because nothing acceptably edible by time when independant travellers allowed to eat so went without dinner.
Be careful and do your research before booking,this is clearly a tour bus hotel marketed very carefully avoiding fact that it is attached to a 200 hundred room conference centre.

Absolutely stunning place, that actually used to be owned by my family member, of whom I'm the last surviving one here, and I had no idea! I knew he was a well off local businessman, who I met lots as a little one in but I lost both of my parents so didn't get to know this, plus a previous generation fallout meant Set in such a beautiful setting, and really quiet.
We were here over the hot bank holiday and it was very busy, but still really quiet which we were shocked about. Room was clean and bathroom was nice, only issue is our 'double' bed was actually two twins pushed together, of different heights, so my partner and I were rather uncomfortable,

Our room was in the end 117 on top of kitchen probably, the fact of nice single glass windows and noice from fan was really bad mixture.

Shower had is leaking from everywhere.

-noisy. If you are deaf not a problem or ear plugs should be supplied as a standart.

The property was adequate for an unexpected visit. Room was clean, bathroom functional, drinks facilities and fridge were welcome as were the towels.

However, the room door was tricky to close securely and the pool/gym area was under repair which limited access.

When staff were encountered they were friendly and helpful but there wasn't an abundance of available staff.

Overall, an easy to use hotel - fair value for the price.

The hotel is old and tired. The directional signage is confusing.
Dinner is an awful buffet reminiscent of 70s school dinners. I was advised to not have breakfast. Staff roll their eyes, or, if you enquire about a vegetarian option, quiz you on if you really are a vegetarian. If you aren't, then they tell you the veggie option should have been preordered!
They do not check their messages either so if you do message the hotel, no action will be taken.

For the low cost compared to other hotels in the area, it was worth it.
Looks grand from the outside and entrance . The room I was in, was clean but could use an upgrade in the bathroom, hole in door, old bath and shower with no plug so couldn’t take a bath.

Staff need training on what disabled guests need. Was incorrectly given a non accessible room on checking in, then just allocated a room with shower. The restaurant was inaccessible to disabled guests. It involved numerous step (both up and down), and didn’t seem to care when I explained that stairs were difficult for me. The lift for wheelchair access was non operational the entire stay. Access to the shower was difficult.

Hotel was \"fine\" for what I wanted - a clean cost effective place close to a business need the next day. Check in was a bit of a chore with reminders emailed during the day and then a request to fill in the same data on arrival. Room functional but no doubt a bit dated and tired. Definitely clean. I'd booked a double bed but got 2 singles pushed together. Parking easy and close. Breakfast was fine. TV and ents in the room probably better than I'd expect. Overall for the price it was fine. I'd stay there again.

Staff are fabulous. It’s a very old building and could do with some upgrades but the dog friendly atmosphere is unbeatable. Very impressed with the way they handled things during the Crufts week. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a genuinely dog friendly hotel. Beds are a little small but rooms and bathrooms are clean

The downside for me this trip was the TV did not work and they did not have a maintenance man available to fix it.
The room was clean but one thing i did notice they do not have USB charging points anywhere in the room. In case the ones on your laptop are not available

It would have been nice to have been in formed that there was a boxing event taking place on the night of our stay, we stayed at hotel as we were flying from Birmingham airport on the Sunday morning, as it was we had no sleep with banging doors and shouting and screaming all night. Hotel was nice just a pity that the people at the event were out of control

The room had damp no chamber maids came to clean the room. The lift broke down. The disabled lift on route to the dining area was broken. The food was cold. The hotel had lots of people tvat appeared to be homeless. The standard was appauling. Id like an email address so i can complain. I paid £132 for 2 nights my daughter paid £52 for 1 night. Why was my stay more per night. Im not happy at all

Very small shower cubicle. If you are plus size difficult to fit in. No holder for soap/shampoo in the shower cubicle.
Aged rooms.
Booked a double bed- they just assembled 2 single beds- which had a gap in the middle.
If you are looking for just a night stay then it's ok just to have a sleep and go

Conditions were old but it was clean. Excellent value @£45 Staff were friendly and courteous.

My issue was with bathroom, some mould on ceiling which could easily be rectified. Toilet seat was very wobbly, again easily rectified and not sure why this was because surely housekeeping would have noticed. Shower knob not working properly so did not have shower as I was going home anyway.

Room 136 bathroom has the radiator plumbing bypassed so it has no heating at all.
It was quite handy in this case as I need somewhere to store my milk and it freezing in there.
In all I was not impressed with the room and was looking forward to checking out.

My colleague has stayed at the property last month and noted the rooms were tired but this was to be expected given the price. On this occasion however when he arrived 2 cars had been broken into. This was 3pm. There had been a police presence but unfortunately staff were unable to reassure my colleague that his vehicle would be safe. We tried to find accommodation nearby but this wasn't possible at such short notice. We wont be booking the property again.

Hotel needs some serious maintenance. Gutters needed clearing, bathrooms/rooms needed updating. Staff were fine and rooms were clean but the more one looks the more flaws become apparent. I can only assume that there is no money for updates/maintenance and hasn't been for some time, tired.

It was a really nice entrance area, and the staff were friendly enough.

The key issues were the amount of dust in the rooms, the towels not smelling fresh and the fact that we needed to pay to use the gym which wasn’t obvious from the way it was advertised.

Lovely room nice and clean. Fridge could be bigger ok if on your own. Make sure you pay for a food voucher at reception before eating at the restaurant as it’s more expensive.
