It’s a little outside of Lucerne, so be prepared to have a car specifically for this location. Transportation isn’t nearby or walkable and the Ubers are expensive! Other than that, it was awesome to have free breakfast and a bunch of dining options so close by on the shared property. The room and bathroom were large and clean!

The property was overall okay to stay in and the breakfast was fine too. However, the rooms were dirty and all linen covers, bedsheets had marks and stains. The rooms don’t have the AC in them so they are quite hot and difficult to stay in for longer. Also, the phone charging stations in the hotel lobby area do not work at all so we had to buy a new adaptor for our iphones.

I think we were expecting all of the modern amenities of a N. American Holiday Inn, but the space was extraordinarily tight, very small bathroom/shower, no a/c and just a desktop fan to move air. The beds and pillows were quite uncomfortable. I do feel like the space was clean, and the breakfast was nice. The staff was friendly, and it wasn’t their fault that there was a very loud tour group also staying. The location is a convenient stop off the highway, where there are several food options. Across from the hotel there is a farm/park with a lot of nice walking paths. So, overall, some pros, some cons—just depends on what you are expecting.

Breakfast choices were very good. This hotel is at a “travel plaza”, what US residents would call a “truck stop”. The restaurant at the plaza, Marche, offers a wide range of fresh cooked food, salads, etc. There is also a small Co-op grocery. We chose this hotel because it was on the route of a walking trail we wished to explore, and were pleased with the accommodations and the ease of walking to Sempach. It is not on public transportation but we easily got car service from the train station at Emmenbrucke.

When booked I did not realise that the hotel was in a service station and not where I would normally choose to stay. However, the reception staff really made it a pleasure to stay. Although the services facilities did look that it had good food and drink, we had been driving for 6 hours and wanted to be somewhere quite, the reception girls let us out of the back gate and we drove 10 mi s to the nearest village where we found a lovely wee bistro. The hotel was clean and well maintained and well worth the money.

It was a nice hotel with good breakfast but it was relatively far away from lucerne and there was no air-conditioning which made the stay a bit uncomfortable with the heat wave. We were supplied with a fan though. There was a convenience store near by where you can buy groceries. There was a small park area with benches to sit just by the hotel. There was car parking available.

The location of this hotel IS NOT in Lucerne. If one is not renting a car, there is no easy way to reach the hotel. Ubers don’t serve this area and there are no train or bus connections. Very deceptive.

Be aware that there is no air conditioning. They did provide us with a small fan but if you go in summer this is good to know because it was difficult to cool down the room enough to sleep. For public transport users, nearest bus station is 1.5 km away. One has to cross a village with big patches of green lands and barns around. We walked that road at 10 pm at night. Luckily sun sets late in summers so some faint light saved us. Please do not try this in winters. Took us 30 mins to reach hotel but it was scary as hell to walk that lonely road in shadows and low light, with 2 kids. Next day we tried to get uber or taxi to go to nearest Train Station that was 3 km away from hotel. Uber said 10 fr but never came. Hotel taxi said 40 fr which was a rip off. We decided to walk the same 1.5 km road and catch bus instead. Walk through barns and meadows during the day, cool right? Wronggg!! Half way through that road, at the barn, an unleashed dog started barking at us and no owners came out to leash it or let us pass that road. We went back that road to get away from the dog, walked further through a grassy meadow to find a parallel road that connected to the bus stop. Luckily no other interruptions on the lonely road and we managed to reach bus stop. Bus 50 and 52 to Luzern station can be caught every 30 min from that stop. Better than expected. Check in was easy. Clerk very friendly. We did not realize that the rooms had no airconditioning. We asked for a fan and the clerk said she would bring one up. She came in 5 minutes. I guess you would normally not need air conditioning in Switzerland. But there is a heat wave across Europe at the moment. We turned the lights down low and later at night we also opened a window to let the cool air in as well. Very modern hotel. Shower gel, shampoo, hairdryer. The best part was the continental breakfast! Meats, cheeses,hard boiled eggs, crossiants, breads of all kinds, fruit, cereals,coffe, juice. All included. Huge breakfast area. Location is about 10 minutes from Lucerne but next to an auto stop with, a filling station, quick stop market, Burger Kingand another Swiss restaurant for hot entrees, salad, dessert. Our three night stay at the hotel could not have been better. The staff were incredibly helpful and went the extra mile to ensure our needs were met. The hotel was spotlessly clean and the breakfast more than adequate. The rooms were very quiet despite being close to the motorway. An unexpected bonus were the extra facilities on the site - shop, fast food restaurent and buffet style restaurent and also a garage. 11 out of 10!
