My go to hotel in Lucerne. It's extremely close to the train station, the Chapel Bridge, and old town. The staff is friendly and the hotel is always well maintained. I wish breakfast was included or a more affordable price point if it's not, but otherwise it's a great spot.

I recently stayed at this so-called “5-star” hotel, and it was nothing short of a nightmare. The online description is utterly misleading. Here’s why:

First, there are no restaurant services or any form of food available. For a hotel that claims to be 5-star, this is unacceptable. The hours of operation for anything remotely service-related are bizarre and highly inconvenient. You can’t even get basic amenities like water; there’s no way to ask for it, and the room has a small, empty fridge with no bottled water provided.

The room itself was ugly and uncomfortable. There was no air conditioning control, and I suspect there wasn’t even AC, just a barely functional fan. This made for a very uncomfortable stay, especially during the warmer parts of the day.

Moreover, the staff was unprofessional and unhelpful. They certainly did not provide the level of service one would expect from a 5-star establishment. Their attitude and service were more fitting for a 1-star motel.

Overall, this hotel is a huge disappointment. It’s not even worthy of a single star. I would not recommend it to anyone. Save your money and stay somewhere that actually meets its advertised standards.

Overall, a good place to stay. For the price, I expected a little more in terms of elegance and luxury, but I can't think of a single complaint. The front desk and all hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. The location was extremely convenient with the train station just being less than a 5 minute walk away.

Room air conditioning unit was not cooling enough and moldy at the vent. Not expected from a five star hotel. Despite notifying reception nothing was done except for a thank you for notifying us. Will never stay there again.

Our stay at the Renaissance was very disappointing overall.

The good:
- Location is excellent
- Front desk staff is polite

The bad:
- No bottled water in the room and 9chf per bottle if you ask for it at reception
- No Do Not Disturb sign in our room, and had to deal with housekeeping knocking and asking them to come back later. Asked the front desk for a DND sign but never got one.
- Excessive noise from the hallways and of doors being slammed shut constantly
- Body wash ran out and wasn't refilled during our stay, and the trash can wasn't emptied on one of the days either. Also found hair that didn't belong to us in the bathroom.

I believe the Renaissance hotel can and should do much better, and I'll be searching for a different hotel next time I visit Lucerne.

First time visiting Luzern. Booked the studio suite. Parking is difficult but the check in staff helped a lot. Great staff!! Room was spacious but very uncomfortable furniture and a tiny, tiny bathroom. Stand up shower has no door so water goes everywhere. Ugh, not for me.

The Renaissance Lucerne Hotel is a well maintained and centrally located hotel. It's a five minute walk from Lucerne HB. Unlike many such locations in other cities the area is spotlessly clean and safe. The hotel staff are friendly and welcoming. My room was ready at lunchtime and I appeared to get an upgrade. The room was spacious, well furnished and clean Would happily return.

We really liked the staff at this hotel especially Lena, who helped us get a birthday cake together for our son with his name on it and then delivered to a restaurant that was within walking distance of the hotel. They were all just so knowledgeable and friendly and we really enjoyed every interaction with them. They made our stay wonderful.

The staff is always willing to go over and above to assist me. For example - assistance with getting covid tests and - even more important - test results, when these were not delivered by quickly enough for my travel date.

The Renaissance Lucerne has been my go-to when I visit the area. It is a short 3 blocks from the train station and within walking distance of the old town, chapel bridge, great dining, etc. The staff is amazing - so friendly and helpful. The hotel is very clean and if you need any help (calling a taxi, shuttle, recommendations, etc.) they will exceed your expectations

The staff was great but Expedia may want to stop using the motel.

Every night except Saturday and Sunday (Easter weekend) it was very loud outside until 1 pm.

Loud music, loud talking and traffic noise came from outside the hotel, I do not know if it came from the restaurant or the bar across the street.

The windows need to be upgraded.

Plus the A/c barely worked and it was very warm that week but they did bring me the fan.

I say complaints from other people about the loudness if the hotel.

But again, the people of the hotel was great.

But we need a refund for the loudness except for Saturday and Sunday, the only nights it was ok.

Staffs are friendly, attentive and offered to help. One of the receptionist(male) even went out to the open carpark to get us a parking lot.
The interior of the room is modern BUT the shape of the rooms are irregular. There is a pillar just next to my bed. I keep doing kickboxing against the pillar when sleeping.

The reception staff was very nice. They gave us lots of information about the local area. The room was clean and tidy. The location of the hotel is perfect. It is just a few minutes walk from the train station of Lucerne. However, there were a few steps in middle of the corridor of the floor we stayed, which made it inconvenient to move our luggage.

I would have given this hotel a near perfect t score if it hadn’t been for the very noisy bar and disco located beneath our room. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised to hear we had been upgraded to a suite, however that suite was directly above the VERY loud bar/ disco and in a Friday night we were told there was not much thy could do about the noise. Staff should advise guests of this details before checking them in to that room!

Would definitely recommend this hotel but maybe on a higher floor. We were on the first floor and on Saturday night because we are over a club/bar, you could hear and feel the music in the room. It was ridiculously loud and didn’t end til 2am. We couldn’t sleep until then. That was our only complaint. The hotel upgraded our room upon arrival, it’s super clean and very close to the train station and pier. We really enjoyed our stay.

Overall experience is comfy as the quality bedding provides restful sleep during few nights stay.
Only issue is the bathroom design is lousy and too compact and poorly design. Each time shower will cause pool of waters outside the poorly sheltered bathroom cubicle. Hanging place for clothing in closet is pathetically compact too. Will consider other hotel for next stay.

Old hotel but well maintained, the temperature of the room was not easily adjusted and with the window open it was bad news. Very noisy, voices from street until nearly morning. Think we were right above smoking bar ... Front desk staff were exceptional .... very enthusiastic and made every effort to be helpful.
Location was perfect to downtown and train station.

Nice, updated hotel in a very convenient location - a short walk from the old
Town and the train station. Very friendly and helpful front desk staff. Rooms were clean and updated. Bathroom and shower were very modern and clean. Only gripe is our room was on the first floor facing the street so a bit noisy. We could hear the music from the restaurant below pumping into the late hours. Seems an easy fix would be to request a room on a higher floor. Would definitely stay here again on our next trip to Lucerne.

The stay was fully prepaid yet they preauthorized for the full value of the 2 days stay on my credit card which is absolutely illogical and niether do they bother to justify the preauthorization of the amount and blame it on the system and the amount is unnecessarily blocked on my credit card for more than a week and even now waiting for the reversal even though the trip is over. SHOCKING!!

Never stay in this hotel. When we booked online we specifically say 2adult and 2children but when we went there the manager said they don't have that request And we have to pay extra $250 for two children for two nights . It's rip off hotel. Manager was very griedy and rude. We ended up paying lots of money...Do Not Stay there if you want to SAVE your money.. Hotel is very conjusted and rooms were very small and bad smell. Room service was awful. They have nothing in there breakfast and they charge $50+ per person. Never ever stay here!!!
