It was a great time and stay at Luzerne. The breakfast was good. The staff were nice. Check in was easy and smooth. The elevator wasn't working when I got there and had to walk the stairs to the 6th floor. They fixed the elevator shortlt after.

The location was good but the outstanding thing was the size of the 3-person room we booked. “Palatial” is not an understatement! And whilst some repairs are needed, the penthouse feel and size of the master bedroom cannot be beaten.

Room was good; however lacked both heating or air con. We stayed 2 nights and dor the first 24 hours there was no hot water. We did bring to the attention of reception who advised that was the normal temp. But on the 2nd day we were able to have hot shower instead of cool.
Location of hotel was very central to train stations, restaurants and shopping

Hotel Luzernerhof is located in the heart of Luzern within 5 min. to the lake, 10 min. to train station, and other attractions.

PROs: Location, location, location. Excellent location within walking distance of all attractions. The price is reasonable considering hotels in Switzerland - probably because of off-season. Room is spark clean and well equipped with every necessities. Buffet breakfast and restaurant are available even though I didn't use the latter. Bathroom is equipped with Soeder's soap which to my much liking - Made in Zurich of herbal attracts.

CONs: Room needs more central lightings. There're only small desk lamp and floor lamps that barely light up the room. Floor alley is dark unless activated by a push of a button - something that guests may not know and they'd fall and trip on something. One particular staff member who is very mean and rough to customers at the morning break. I'm surprised by her attitude. Coffee is not from the machine, so we needed to ASK for it. I didn't ask for a refill due to the unpleasantness of this particular hotel assistant. There's also a female front desk staff who was very COLD and less smiling.

I would call this a “no frills”, convenient, clean hotel. The rooms were spacious enough. Loved that the windows open. I enjoy the city noise, but other traveling companions found it a bit loud. Did not take advantage of the breakfast offered or the coffee in the morning. Plenty of places in the area to go for European breakfast. Extremely convenient to Lake Lucerne, Chapel Bridge & train station. Would stay again.

The location is great, and the breakfast was really good. However, there were continual service issues. Our room was not ready at the 3 pm check-in time. We were put in a different, dark room. Two of the five lights didn’t work. We asked, but no no one came to fix them. They said they would have to call an electrician. The light was not fixed during our three night stay. The first day, our room was never cleaned. We asked twice, no one came. That evening finally a cleaner knocked on our door and offered fresh towels. Presumably, the service staff was very short staffed. We did receive apologies.

We had the 7th floor room. It was spacious with living room, guest room, master bedroom, 1.5 bathrooms, outdoor terrace, kitcheb, and even had a fireplace but quite old. The walls were velvet but the outlets were coming out. One small TV in living room. The guest bedroom had a window with bars but no covering - quite odd. Some of the lights didn’t work. Kitchen appliance seemed like from 40+ years ago. They had 2 glass panel shelf windows where people outside can look into the apt. Floors were creaky. The place felt haunted. The bathroom seemed like the only area renovated decently but the shower area had some mold. The location is convenient near the lake and 10-15 min walk to train / chapel bridge / lion monument.

I would not recommend this hotel. Hot, dirty, cigarette smoke in the lobby, noisy, and dated (in a bad way). Manager was, however, very receptive to our feedback and did kindly offer a refund for one night to accommodate. This was the bright spot. I would still not recommend this hotel, but I applaud the manager for her service and appreciate her willingness to receive our feedback.

Nice hotel, easy walk from railway station and all the main tourist spots. I had a single room which was clean and had a comfortable bed, a safe, flat screen TV with lots of channels, charging points for phones and nice bathroom with a good shower. Staff were all nice and helpful. Buffet breakfast was good. My room overlooked the street but with the window closed there wasn't much traffic noise. The only thing that stops this being excellent was the lack of air conditioning but I wasn't that hot and slept well. I definitely recommend it as a good place to stay unless you really need air conditioning. I very much enjoyed my stay.

Very convenient location to center of Lucerne - we were able to walk to all areas of interest to us.
Wifi connection process was very cumbersome and we need to ask for help from the front desk staff.

I really liked the first room that I stayed in. It was clean & spacious! But then the second room that I have booked was little smaller and it wasn't bad until I smelled the pillow and blanket. It smelled like wet tower that haven't been dried. Other than that, rest wad okay. Overall nice place to stay and close to restaurants and groceries and lake.

Hello, I’m writing to request a refund, as this hotel was a complete deception from the moment I arrived. The photos and description on the website have nothing to do with reality. The rooms were full of dust, extremely small, and had no air conditioning, which is very serious considering that I suffer from asthma and severe allergies.

The staff showed no intention of solving the issue or offering any alternatives. I felt completely scammed, I couldn’t continue with the stay, and I was forced to find another hotel immediately, which resulted in an additional and unexpected expense.

I find it unacceptable that this type of accommodation is available on the platform, and that is why I am demanding a full refund of my reservation. It was a very unpleasant experience that affected both my health and my travel plans.

Dirty, rude staff

In summary:

Day 1 on arrival: the trash in the bathroom was full from previous guest and no toilet paper in bathroom. Called front desk and the girl came and took out trash and brought toilet paper.

Day 1 (few hrs later): I go to take a shower. Shower gel bottle totally empty (fine, I brought my own) and the shower was clogged (pic for reference). Called again and same girl came but with a different attitude this time (annoyed). I asked if someone could come from maintenance since my aunt needed to also shower and I did not expect her to do so on top of my dirty water. She said no one could help until next day, which I found impossible to believe. It was only about 7p. I asked for a different room, she said they were full. I asked again how they can run a full hotel without anybody from maintenance for an emergency. She got mad. I got mad. I told her to leave the room and contacted Hotels.com.

Day 2: I tried talking to the manager in the morning. Literally no help. She was defensive and took her employee's side because I was rude to the rude/not-at
-all helpful employee. They didnt even offer an apology or a free breakfast. Nothing. Their costumer service is the worst and they DO NOT care.

Day 2 (at night): My earring fell on floor so when I picked up I noticed all the dirt under my bed (pic for reference).

Good location but for the price, find a cleaner, nicer hotel where you can shower for more than 1 minute so you dont drown.

This hotel was amazing. We had originally booked a different hotel, which turned out to be completely misleading. After a stressful search for alternative accommodations, this hotel welcomed us right away and had a room ready almost immediately. While the room didn’t have a view, the location was perfect—within walking distance of everything we needed. The free Wi-Fi, delicious breakfast, and extremely comfortable bed made our stay even better.
Although it was slightly on the pricier side, the quality and service made it well worth it. Highly recommend!

Cigarette smoke drifting through the hotel

We found the staff to be nice check in and check out. We’re very efficient. The breakfast was good. The room was comfortable and clean. I did have one major complaint with the Hotel and brought it up with management. They did say they are working on it. they have a smoking bar Off of the lobby, but the smoke does not stay contained to that area. The lobby smelled heavily of stale cigarette smoke, and the smell drifted all the way up to the fifth floor through the open stairwell when we would open our door cigarette smoke would fill our room until we could air it out as being somebody that does not smoke and does not have any smokers in my household and because of our state laws in California, my exposure to cigarette smoke is minimum so this was very annoying

Perfect location for all things Lucerne

Walking distance from train station. Located in a very accessible area of Lucerne. The room was quite large and very comfortable. Lucerne is an extremely walkable city. As a city though, it did not feel like one. This hotel has a bus stop right outside the doors. I will definitely recommend this hotel to anyone going to Lucerne.

The location of the hotel was very good - easy walk to the old town, train station and Lion Monument… also good that the room comes with a coffee machine, good for having something hot when need it.
The hotel service was mediocre, we had to ask for new coffee supplies and transport pass. We mentioned to a lady at front that there was no service, she noted that we had mentioned it the previous evening but didn’t give any acknowledgement- such as an explanation or an apology.
It was also a bit tricky to log on to wifi - had to provide a credit card or a phone number for code. Since we have an international number, it didn’t work for us but to give a CC. Without charge though.

This was a lovely hotel right in the middle of Old Town Lucerne. Everything we wanted and needed was within walking distance, including the train station. The hotel was clean and modern.
