Persistent cigarette and humidity odor – management did not resolve issue
I recently stayed at Coral Suites in Panama City and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience.

The first room assigned to us was very depressing, so we requested a change. Although the staff moved us to another room, the main issue was never resolved.

The second room had a very strong and persistent cigarette smell. We complained several times to management, but nothing was done to properly fix the problem. Housekeeping cleaned the room, yet the odor remained. We were not offered any solution such as an air purifier, odor neutralizer, or any effective action to remove the smell.

Additionally, the bathroom had a humidity/mold odor, and the cabinets under the sink smelled so bad that we did not feel comfortable placing our personal items inside.

The constant cigarette and humidity smells made our stay very uncomfortable and unpleasant. We expected a clean, fresh, non-smoking environment, and that was not the case.

Very disappointing experience.

The room was very clean and the staff was friendly. The rooms were very spacious and the kitchen area was nice. There were four burners, pots and pans and a medium size fridge. There were a couple mini grocery stores and bakery within walking distance.

The rooftop pool was the best thing ever. The room was clean, it was nice to have a full kitchen but my room had a strange smell to it. Also, I requested a ride from the airport and no one ever showed. After I arrived at the hotel after waiting around for 45 minutes or so (after messaging with no response and then calling with no answer), I mentioned to the lady at the desk that someone was supposed to pick me up and she sounded surprised

The reception staff was excellent. They were always attentive to our needs. The gentleman who helped with Luggage and the door and our car service were also very hospitable. The cleaning staff of our room always served us with a big smile, and there were no issues in regards to the room whatsoever. Some people leave mixed reviews, but my review says it is a very economical hotel that will meet your needs when traveling, especially for immigration.

The staff at Coral Suites are their best asset! From doorman to reception to housekeeping, friendly and fantastic service was always at the forefront. I would rate Coral Suites a 5/5 but we stayed there three times in three different rooms and each one had an issue, always in the bathroom: leaking door, leaking toilet, shelf falling off, Molly or stained shower area. The rest of the rooms were all fantastic. They just could use a bit of upkeep on the bathrooms. Would stay here again for sure.

I found the place to be decent overall. However, I noticed some issues — there was hair in the bathroom and one of the chairs was broken. On a positive note, the staff truly stood out for their friendliness and helpfulness, making my stay more pleasant.

A small suggestion for improvement: adding a coffee maker or kettle in the rooms would make a big difference for guests like me who enjoy a hot drink at any time.

The hotel is amazingly clean. The staff is friendly and English speaking. You can easily walk to shopping, grocery stores, and the subway. I have a small kitchen so that I am able to cook my meals, and there is a rooftop pool to relax and enjoy the sunshine. There is also a gym and laundry on the premises.

There is a kitchenette in the room and easy walking to restaurants and shopping. Nice staff who spoke English. A fold out couch and nice big bed. No view to speak of but clean and comfortable. Area is full of hotels and seems to cater to tourism.

The staffs were pleasant and always trying to help. We had to change rooms twice because the left side of the building had mole on the outside. As we walked in the rooms we could smell it. After a little while my nose started to run and my eyes got red and sort of swollen. When I went outside I noticed the mole so I asked to be on the other side of the building. Then the key every so often didn’t work. Then it happened that it wasn’t the key but it was the door. The whole thing was frustrating to say the least. I have video of the mole in the bathroom

I was upset and confused about where to go, etc. I believe it was the manager and and another associate that came to my aid. They were so compassionate and so very helpful. I cannot say enough to express my gratitude to them. Even gave me the business card for the hotel so I could let them know how my husband made out at the medical facility.

Roof top view was nice, pool was back in commission and a wonderful cool down from the heat.

The front desk ladies are excellent. Ms. Isabelle is a wealth of information and deserves a raise.

Our room service lady Carmen was absolutely fantastic. Whatever we needed, she was ready and willing. We met other guests on the premises had all had great things to say about this location, and we concur. It’s the city so it’s busy all day and night. The mini markets and restaurants nearby make it an ideal spot.

In order to mix it up, we never visit the same hotel twice. Coral Suites is a 10 outta 10 highly recommended. Keep doing what you do !!!

The rooms are large with a kitchen, but the furnishings are a bit tired. The first room we were given smelled of mold, but the staff were very good and gave us another room which was fine. There are lots of restaurants in the area and the hotel is near to the metro. Taxis are also very easy to find in the area.

If you're looking for accommodation that allows you the comfort of an apartment at an affordable cost, this is the place for you. The staff members were helpful and attentive, and the rooms were nicely maintained. While there was no breakfast services, there are many restaurants and cafes nearby, as well as a private kitchen.

I like the fact that the property was close to other businesses and also coming back to our room the beds were always made that was the only good thing we experienced there. However, I think the reception service was poor, we were just handed a key and told the room number. The bathroom ( shower compartment) for our room was really dirty to the end of our stay it’s not clean ( you could have seen all dirty old soap scrums from years, the shower door was cloudy and again mold to the end of the shower door, when you close the bathroom door you can see molds,I tried cleaning it at one point). I would not recommend this place nor would I stay at this hotel again

The building is nice and looks clean, lobby is cozy and the front desk staff is so courteous, helpful, pleasant. The pool area is very clean and relaxing. However, the bed linens are not nice also found a strand of hair on sheet and we saw two cockroaches roaming around the room. Hotel should SPRAY or put some treatment around the rooms. Otherwise the room is very nice with a functional kitchen. The hotel is a lovely, friendly place close to everything (grocery stores, pharmacy, discount stores, restaurants, laundromat). Love the area it’s so convenient.

Ok if you are a traveller you will appreciate this Hotel if you are looking for all the right facilities at an amazing price. If you are a 5 star snob this is not your place nor is it priced that way. We had an amazing, comfortable and delightful stay. The staff are so friendly and accommodating. The rooms are huge with a small kitchenette and dining table a pull out couch and very efficient A/C. Super clean. You are located close to the subway and taxis are easy to hail. Theirs a muni plex restaurant right next door and the food is outstanding. There are many shops close by including phone and grocery shops. This has are somewhat pricy as the USD is tied to the local currency. But you can accommodate any budget. The room has a full fridge,stove,microwave and coffee maker. There are some dishes and pots (enough to get by). We made coffee and took it up to the roof top pool each morning. The roof top pool is fabulous and clean. Some loungers and table and chair sets are available as well.

I liked the location of the hotel. It's nearest to many restaurants. The staff was very warm and personable, and always willing to help whenever I had a question about an area, an event, or any other matter. On one internet site, it stated that the hotel stay includes breakfast, but that is not the case. However, the hotel room has full kitchen amenities which allowed me to buy and cook my own breakfast if I chose to do so. The hotel is not as upscale with newer furnishings as you might find in some other hotels, but it is comfortable and a good value for the money.
