When we registered the lady checking us in was good. Unfortunately the rooms are small. In our room when sitting on toilet in ensuite my legs touched the door.
The bathrooms dont have exctractor fans so there is mould.
Beds were comfortable and air con worked well. The wifi did not at all, cutting out very often. The bed was made up daily but the coffee was not replaced every day.
Rooms have a fridge and a safe and breakfast was good value. It was not labelled but staff was able to tell me what was vegetarian and there was a good variety.
Staff on other days did not smile.
They were able to store our luggage on last day.And on a positive note, the location was good and close to MRT and bus stops.

Would not recommend - possibly the worst hotel I've ever stayed in.
No wifi in the rooms - \"connected without internet\" and the staff would not assist with rebooting the internet.
The room was significantly run down, with very visible damage to the bathroom.
Bed & pillows were extremely uncomfortable and no towels were provided for drying hands.
Breakfast buffet was cold and not readily replenished.

Roomwas okay.safe didn't work, vanity was loose, if you stay at level 5 be aware of the noise from the roof top party zone. I had movi ng of chairs etc until 1 am! Reception staff are excellent. And its amazing what they squeeze into 15 sqm. By the way, my level 4 Wi-Fi hadno internet, so i had to use level 1 Reception over the weekend which was slow with drop outs. No good if you're a business traveler. But the price is good and the location is good. Depends on what you need it's either a steal or a disaster.

This was, without exaggeration, the worst hotel experience I’ve had in all my travels.

We stayed in the hotel’s so-called “Executive Room,” which is marketed as their best and largest offering. What we encountered was far from acceptable. The room was dirty, with bugs freely crawling around, mold visible in multiple areas, and cracked tiles in the shower. There was hair under the bathroom sink, holes in the walls, and a fan coated with what looked like years of dust buildup. The bedding and linens were old and stained yellow, and even the plastic hangers were broken. The Wi-Fi was completely nonfunctional.

Despite multiple requests for basic service—cleaning the room, removing bugs, replacing towels—hotel staff showed no willingness to help. When we politely asked for a deep clean, the receptionist simply laughed. The lack of professionalism and care from the staff was shocking, especially for a hotel charging $260 USD per night.

We booked this hotel for its location and hoped that earlier negative reviews might not reflect our experience. Unfortunately, they were accurate—if anything, our stay was worse. Singapore is a compact city with great transportation. You can stay at a much cleaner, more professional hotel slightly farther from the waterfront and still have easy access to all the main attractions.

Avoid this hotel at all costs. It’s overpriced, unsanitary, and the staff are indifferent. Absolutely would not recommend.

The hotel location and it’s staff are its best features. The hotel is a bit dingy hit for one night, it is okay. The ac was outstanding. It was quiet and quickly moved to the setting we required . The bed was okay, the room a bit small. We dormant know we were supposed to flip a switch to get hot water, so we dormant take a shower the day we arrived but while eating breakfast, we leaned there was a switch to flip that would start the hot water flowing. I would consider this an adequate one nighter but not for a longer stay.

We were a group of 7 people in three rooms and stayed for two nights. Our room had no shower curtain and flooded after showers. The night wall light was not working, and the telephone to call my family was not working. The washroom was full of molds, the vanity was full of molds, the walls throughout was dirty. They installed a shower curtain but it was too short and did not help with the flooding. The hotel definitely has major maintenance issues. It was neglected. It was not worth what I paid.I have pictures to back up my review.

You stay at Jayleen 1918 because of its excellent location and walking distance to many restaurants, pubs, Clarke Quay Mall, and Clarke Quay MRT. It's easy and quick to get from the hotel to other attractions via the subway. The hotel is near tourist nightclubs so there are a lot of revelers at night. The hotel needs renovation for moldy baseboards and musty odors and a facelift for old decor but the room, linen, and bathroom were clean. I didn't see any bedbugs. The staff is very hospitable.

At check-in, the room we were given was nothing like the website. The room was so small we could hardly move. The bathroom still had toothpaste spattered on the mirror and tap and had an odour. There was also a clump of hair on the floor. We were finally offered 2 rooms but at an additional $160 and we also had to pay for breakfast which was initially included in our booking. There was mould everywhere in the rooms and the bedding was discoloured and very old. The whole place was dated and desperately in need of an update. There are many better hotels in the city centre at which to stay and this is one to avoid. Definitely not value for money.

Location, Location, Location

The hotel is basic, but that is exactly what I wanted. The outstanding location and very competitive price made this the perfect place to stay for my week-long trip to Singapore. Just a 3-minute walk from the nearest MRT station, the whole island was opened-up to me and after a long day of trekking around the sights, it also proved to be an ideal short walk for tired feet... :-)

A further 3 or 4 minutes past the MRT station is Clarke Quay, the nightlife centre of Singapore. 5-10 minutes in the other direction is the centre of Chinatown. In a 3rd direction the Asian Civilisations Museum is also just 10 minutes walk away. This hotel really is in the centre of everything. I would recommend it to anyone travelling to Singapore for a holiday.

If you're looking for luxury this isn't it! The bathroom is Tiny, can barely shower in the small space, with dirt or mold in the tile. The bed is extremely hard. The pillows are the worst! The bathroom smells if you don't leave the fan on and spray room spray in there from the sewer. Free breakfast, coffee is cold, potatoes were cold and the other items (other than toast & eggs) didn't agree with my stomach. If your just looking for a place to lay your head it's relatively clean and inexpensive compared to other hotels here.

The location of the hotel is very good. This is the second time I’ve stayed there, the first time being two years ago. The hotel is getting very run down with faults such as missing doors, jammed drawers, broken room safe, peeling paint and scuffed wallpaper. The roof area has tables and chairs but no comfortable seats or sun loungers. The fourth floor terrace appears to have comfortable seats but they were covered in laundry and couldn’t be used. The dining area is very dated. This used to be a cheap and cheerful hotel but has got a lot more expensive and doesn’t offer good value for money. It needs money spending on it to make it a nice place to stay.

The hotel is old but the staff were welcoming and helpful. Very well situated.
The breakfast could be improved by more healthy cereal options, eg. muesli, yogurt and there were no toppings except peanut butter for toast. The milk should be kept cold, not left out on the bench as the breakfast room was quite warm.

This was a nice stay for four nights. Not far from the metro (Clarke Quay was closest, then Raffles Place). Nice rooftop view ust above the 6th floor. A great place to look around in 360.

Good full breakfast with several choices. Room was fine, but bed was a bit small but adequate. We would definitely stay here again.

The front desk staff are lovely, the room is incredibly spacious and the location is great.
The room, particularly the bathroom needs an update. Not sure if all rooms had the same issue, the shower drain in mine emitted a strong, potent smell of sulfur. The bed was hard, and the pillows exceptionally firm. If you like that, you'll love the beds. Given the drawbacks, the price I paid was not value for money.
The breakfast in the buffet was okay and was a good inclusion, as many food places in Singapore don't open until later in the morning. The hotel is located near lots of good eateries and a couple of nice shopping precincts. The hotel is also located on the edge of Chinatown district which was convenient.
The location was great, especially for the Singapore F1. Was also able to visit a lot of sites. However did rely upon taxis as means of getting around to some further sites such as the zoo.

I stayed in the hotel for almost a fortnight. It isn't the most modern or poshest of hotels but that is reflected somewhat in the price. The location is very good with numerous eating establishments within easy walking distance. The staff were always helpful and my stay was a pleasant one. The quality of the internet connection was never what you would call fast and for most of the time was adequate but seemed to disappear on a couple of occasions.

We booked for a room for 4. The room is good for 1 or 2 max. Bathroom is bizarre.The supposed bathroom wall is a transparent screen that slides open from the bedroom! We stayed 1 night & had to cancel the other 3. I feel bad for the staff who are very nice indeed, especially Mr Gray- Senior Executive.

Stayed four nights and the hotel's deficiencies became increasingly apparent with time. The drain in the shower gave off a bad smell. And it was impossible to prevent water from the shower pooling on the bathroom floor. The breakfast cereal was so stale as to be inedible.
