I clearly booked the CHESTER COURT HOTEL, which included breakfast, however on arrival I was informed that our room was in there other property called Chester house and my booking didn't include breakfast. I feel I have been totally ripped off and made to feel a second class. Do not book this hotel....

Staff very friendly and helpful when we arrived early. Let us have the keys early due to us going to the races so that we did not need to rush back to check in. Had to have a different room due to problems with the room booked originally but apart from having no en suite the room was fine. Breakfast nice.

Lovely staff, easy check in, fantastic room very comfy and clean and had everything we could have wished for. The only down side was someone was hammering on the front door for half an hour at 4.30am which woke us up but will definitely stay here again. Haven’t tried the breakfast yet as it’s only 7am but I’m told it’s wonderful!

This is our second time of staying at Chester Court in as many years and it is lovely to see how the hotel has developed these past years. Not far from Chester central, this hotel is in a great location has ample parking. With well equipped comfortable rooms with a breakfast that would satify the biggest appetite. This hotel is easy to recommend and one we will certainly return to in the future.

It was in the middle of the storm October I got into Chester at 09-12 walked around for an hour got absolutely soaked . Asked if it was possible to just drop bag off about 10 -30 as check in was not until 13-00. They went out of there way to sort my room out so I could get dry and change my close in my room approximately 2-30 hours earlier.👍❤️

Stayed in a beautifully decorated guest house room. Very spacious with large wardrobe and chest of drawers.
there was also a fridge and microwave.
Big walk in shower and toiletries supplied.
Room was very clean and tidy.

Very friendly staff. Polite and helpful, made me feel very welcome. I asked for a plate and cutlery and he brought it with him while on the way to my room. Parking was available and there is a very good feeling about the place. I was also introduced to the owner and he was very welcoming, telling me to ask for what every I needed. All I needed was to have my Chinese , shower and sleep. Room was good, clean with lots of complementaries. I seriously recommend the CCH for anyone visiting Chester. Its is very close to so many Restaurants and Bars, the train station and the city centre. Hoole is a lovely part of Chester.

Great hotel - would recommend

From the check in with John to breakfast in the morning this hotel really looks after you. The room was comfortable and the extra's made it feel like a 5* experience. The breakfast had so much choice and what I really liked was that they cooked your egg to order so, nice and fresh when you were ready to choose the bacon, sausage etc. John recommended an italian (Made in Italy) - 5mins walk from hotel for my evening meal - if you get a chance definitely go there you won't be disappointed.
Absolutely loved this hotel and have no concerns in recommending them.

Overall this property was good the single room i had was clean and tidy and bed was comfortable but could do with being updated and it looked like they were in the process of upgrading rooms in the hotel when i stayed what was really good was having a microwave in the room think all hotels should offer this. Breakfast was in my top 5 with service and variety.

we turned up and were told due to work being carried out there would be no breakfast and gave a discount of £18, not a lot for two decent breakfasts and the inconvenience of looking for a place for breakfast first thing. They gave us what they called a superior room... definitely was not superior, bare floors 4 beds crushed into a small motel type room outwith the actual hotel. Will not revisit

As a busy freelancer, I was looking forward to staying at this period property to work in a different setting. Unfortunately, my room was in the 'cell block' to the rear. A modern, yet very dated, quadrangle of tiny outside rooms. Upon entry, I was greeted with the sound of the neighbour’s TV through the paper-thin walls, replaced in the night with the sound of him snoring and urinating. After running a sink of water to freshen up, I discovered (via my wet socks) that the sink leaked all over the bathroom floor via the overflow or waste. The shower screen lacked a bottom seal, which later added to the flooding. After a sleepless night, I was ‘treated’ to the most basic of English breakfasts (you even get 1 less sausage than in the photo!). Upon returning to my room/cell to continue working, a tradesman commenced external maintenance to the rooms (before 9am). This involved electric drilling, hammering and the hacking up and spitting of phlegm. Other auditory treats in my room (7), which backed onto the kitchen, included staff chatter, constant doorbell chimes and kitchen water/mop buckets continually being drained right outside the room door. So much for the peaceful work break! I complained upon checking out. The new owner told me other local places were even worse (and that he knows because he owns them) and that I should have asked for a better room. No, you should have given me a better room and it’s not ok to charge £40 for those cells.

This hotel is on the main bus route into the city and so it was great to be able to leave the car there (plenty of parking space), get the bus and enjoy a few drinks at the Christmas market. Staff were very helpful, friendly and efficient. The breakfast service was excellent with lots of choice.
The hotel is under new ownership so I hope they will be investing in updating the room decor and facilities as our room and en-suite was \"well worn\"

More of a glorified b&b, but nice enough. No where to work comfortably in the room (I booked a single).

Bed was a little uncomfortable; shower was 👌. Good breakfast.

Its a 30 minute walk into the centre (you can easily avoid walking on the main road by using side streets to get to the canal).

Let them know if you are a late arrival as there is no overnight reception (but arrangements were made for us).

Great location for a stop in Chester. Staff was friendly and helpful with restaurant recommendations. The room reserved was three single beds; spacious enough for 3 adults. The room was equipped with a kettle, tea, coffee, and biscuits. Amentities included shampoo, lotion, and shower gel. The bed was hard, and not very comfortable, but the breakfast was great. Breakfast consisted of fresh fruit, yogurt, and juices with the option of tea or coffee, full english breakfast, poached eggs with toast, or bacon and eggs. Overall, it was a nice stay, but one night is enough due to the uncomfortable mattress and the room not being supplied with a fan.

Hotel itself is in a fabulous location with a 20 minute walk into Chester. The staff are fantastic and so helpful and go out of their way to help. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The breakfasts are lovely. However, the chalet type rooms are a big disappointment. Ours had grubby walls and too small for a couple. We even had a 'immersion heater' in our wardrobe leaving hardly any room for hanging clothes and the room was too small to leave our baggage. I think this room would have been better for a single bed. The lounge/bar was lovely and a nice place to sit with a drink.

I booked my two nights on the basis on the previous reviews and I must say I honestly feel like I have stayed at a different hotel to some other reviewers. Don't get me wrong, there is nothing specifically wrong with this hotel (apart from being woken at 4.30 am by water hammer in the pipes that went on for 45mins), but it is certainly far from exceptional. I felt it was all generally fairly tired and mediocre. I don't think other hotels in the Chester area are outrageously expensive, so I can't even say this was great value for money locally. Overall, nothing greatly wrong with it, but don't expect to have your socks blown off either.

We arrived early , this was not a problem, the room was soo pretty and warm, there was a tray with tea, coffee and hot chocolate. The bathroom was a little dated, the shower was small but was hot water and the towels were fluffy. We slept well, on comfortable beds. The breakfast was 7 until 9 and was really good. The staff are really nice and pleasant.

The b & b was well positioned , but on a one way street, making it not easy to find. THe rooms were spotless, a done breakfast good;although the hotel no longer does an evening meal. The only criticism was the lack of space- room 4-for storage of any kind. ONly a small wardrobe, no drawers or shelves, and no towel rail or shelves in the bathroom- but it didhave a bath and separate shower.

Room was well equipped with comfortable bed and bedding and good storage. Some minor updating of bathroom fittings and bedroom furniture needed. Excellent wi-if. Breakfast was very tasty with a good selection served in a pleasant conservatory. Lounge bar and sitting room were well appointed although we did not use them. I have used the hotel before, and will again, because I like the area, the people, the ease of parking and the room (I seem to get the same one!). The room is small (fair enough, it's a single), very clean and, usually, everything works. This time the light/fan switch in the bathroom didn't: not too much of a problem as the shaving mirror light was sufficient for the whole room. On the plus side, I'm fairly sure the bed had had a change of mattress and it seemed more comfortable than last time. The lack of an arm chair is something I just have to accept, simply because there isn't space for one! But the place still works for me, probably because the people are so nice.

Our first night was rather noisy as we were in a room at the front of the hotel. Road traffic noise kept us awake. The twin room did not have a bath which was disappointing. However the staff were very understanding and moved us to a quiet room with a bath. We very much enjoyed the breakfast menu and the staff were very friendly.

Welcoming hotel with friendly staff. The bar was a nice place to have an evening drink and staff were happy to reserve us a table at a recommended local restaurant. Room size was quite small but clean and bed was comfortable. You can walk into the centre of Chester from here in about 15-20 mins. Chester is lovely town with lots of historic buildings and walls you can walk to circuit the whole town; impressive cathedral and good shopping area.

I travelled to Chester with my mum and Aunt for my university graduation ceremony, and the hotel was able to accommodate us in a triple room. Property is very clean and convenient, free toiletry amenities are provided as well as towels. Breakfast was fantastic and one of the highlights! Perfect one or two night stay for families or friends. Decor was a little dated but charming, and the back of the chair in our room was broken. Small things though. 8/10

It's a reasonably priced 2 star hotel, convenient for the city centre. Only negative is that on a Saturday you can not get breakfast before 0800 if you need to leave early (as I did on this stay)
but I knew this before check in. I have used this hotel before and will again. It's major plus point for me is the off street parking.

Two night stay at Chester Court Hotel

I spent two nights at the Chester Court Hotel while in Chesterton take part in the city's marathon. The staff were all friendly and helpful and the hotel was clean and homely. Although I booked a single room, I was still surprised at how small it was. The wifi was also the weakest I have ever encountered in a hotel. Nevertheless for the price it was fine and only a 15 minute walk to the city centre.

just the situation we wanted to visit family on that side of Chester and have a day at the zoo. Hoole Road is very busy, a main route into the city centre, some heavy traffic noise in the night. The hotel breakfast was good and nicely cooked, pleasant staff.

perfectly situated close to Chester. The room was in a small court yard and although small was very clean and comfortable. The staff were very good but the hotel did not do evening meals, however, it was only a few yards along the road were there are a number of places to eat. internet was slightly slow but I was able to complete my work. Overall, a very nice stop over and would stay again.

The courtyard room was roomy, comfortable, parking at the door and very clean and consumables always topped up. Could not fault it and the breakfasts were perfect!

Nice hotel, great staff!

This was a good hotel, perhaps a little on the expensive side for what it was but nice location, nicely decorated room, lovely staff etc. The only real downsides were that the bar/lounge area was basically deserted (not really the hotel's fault, and we DID stay a midweek night, but it would have been nice to have a bit more of an atmosphere), and that the feather pillows provided were incredibly uncomfortable - it would have been nice to have a spare non-feather pillow available in the wardrobe or something, as by the time I was going to sleep and discovered the problem the reception area was shut.

Chester break

Very friendly and helpful staff. Enjoyed our short stay. Room at top of Hotel head room was small problem in bathroom. Hotel conveniently placed short walk into city centre. Handily placed for visiting Zoo (2miles)

An Over night stop

Needed to rest before continuing our long journey. We stayed in one of their chalet apartments, well away from the road so heard no road noise. The room was suitable for the 1 night, beds were comfortable, usual TV, drinks and complimentary biscuits. It had a very low two seater settee, that needed revitalising. The receptionist gave us a list and map of the local area of where to eat, very helpful and friendly staff. Breakfast was in the main part of the hotel, a very satisfying meal that set us up for the day. I would go back again, it was well placed for the town centre.
