Generally had a good 2 night weekend stay. Room was comfortable and housekeeping good although the view from the window was bleak. Breakfast was generally ok, quite a few missing items though (glasses, white bread, milk, sausage) but these were replenished by staff when asked although had to wait and partner had finished their meal before I got mine. Bar drinks could’ve been better - Helles lager flat and off tasting and replacement drink offered by staff not much better.
Overall good and in a great location to explore the City, the food and drink side could be improved though.

Room was lovely and clean apart from the pillows on the bed were awful we didn’t get a good nights sleep at all both woke up in pain in our necks 😫 tried using one pillow but did not help at all, I never usually complain as I have stayed in other Leonardo hotels previously and never had a issue but yeah I was looking forward to a relaxing night and a good nights sleep.

The room was very small but clean and comfortable. The shower gel in the shower had been watered down so much it was mostly water and not gel - surely times are not so hard that it's come to watering down shower gel!
The lighting in the room was also not the best either startling bright or too dark with no happy medium.
Breakfast wasn't the greatest, everything crammed into a small space so when it gets busy it's difficult to move around. The chef wasn't exactly ontop of replenishing things either which seemed odd because he was standing in front of the food the whole time so had the best view of when things were running low, waited for the eggs to run out completely before even starting to cook more.
The seating area for breakfast was also filthy, seemingly from the evening before as we were one of the 1st down for breakfast so it clearly hadn't been cleaned.
Overall I think this place is overrated for what's on offer, not great value for money, average hotel at best

Nice hotel, very similar to a Premier Inn but with better breakfast and bar area. Right in the centre of Chester with discount car parking at £10 per night 100 yds away.

Only odd thing was my wife found some clothes in her bag that weren’t hers. Initially we feared someone had been in the room but with the help of reception we realised the clothes had been left under the bed by a previous guest and then unwittingly thrown in the bag in the dark by my wife. Receptionist was really helpful checking records of door entry etc to proof nothing untoward had occurred

Great location. Bus stop out front for a bus to/from train station. Good windows so didn't hear traffic outside. Grosvenor Shopping center is next door and can be accessed without getting wet from rain. Breakfast was good. We didn't try the dinner in the restaurant because there would be a 45 minute wait to prepare. Not a problem though since there are lots of restaurants nearby.

Sunday/Monday family of three stay

We stayed in a double room, pros and cons are below:

Pros:
- reasonably priced stay
- excellent location
- really comfy bed
- warm (sometimes too warm at night), quiet room
- bathtub was useful for little one
- amazing blackout curtains which knocked us all out for 12 hours after a tiring weekend!

Cons
- fridge wasn't working so food we tried to store went to waste
- bathroom/corridor didn't smell so great
- we were out until 12:30pm, came back to nap our little one and the room hadn't been cleaned. We left our room again at 2:30pm and we saw cleaners outside in the corridor. We left the sign on our door requesting a clean both times but it didn't happen.
- the bathtub tap had black build up in it which was breaking off into the water when I was bathing my little one, which wasn't great to experience.

You don't seem to get what you paid for

We booked a standard room and we got an accessible room. There was no explanation for why a room that had been booked so in advance was changed without any warning or permission.
The receptionist was not very friendly and did seemed phased with the situation.

Quiet hotel. Soundproofed. Central for everything. All attractions nearby - city walls - a quick and interesting way to get to cathedral and historic centre. Spoilt for choice for restaurants. All staff lovely - reception, breakfast and cleaning staff friendly. Beds excellent. Shower hot. Good value. Couldn't fault it. I'd say negative reviews have been unlucky.

Great stay in Chester. This property couldn’t be closer to the city centre and attractions. Very nice staff in particular the friendly girl on the bar on Monday night. Breakfast was excellent but missing hash browns from the menu for some reason. Room was decent for the price we stayed as a family of 3 and had plenty of space. Also very close to a lot of dining options in the area. Make sure you ask for the parking discount before you pay for parking as we fell foul of this (did get a refund so no real dramas apart from the hassle)

Lovely hotel in a great location. Staff really helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good and our room was excellent. Bar/restaurant area was really nice and the lady serving at the bar was really lovely. We will definitely stay again. Ate at the restaurant called Amni across the road and it was excellent. Loads of choice of lovely restaurants nearby and main shopping area just round the corner made it a brilliant location.
