Elevator was so super old and time consuming to take. Stairs were not too good to take! Breakfast was so in rush by staff and obviously quality was not the best! Shampoo was empty, which the following day on their service, they didn’t take care of that! City tax per person was 6 euro! Which I asked everywhere else is 5 euro, how come here is different ?she didn’t understand me because she was not talking English! Which I thought , hotel receptionist should know English! Idk ! Or maybe they know , when it comes to questions they pretend they don’t!!

At the first day of stay, we’ve got a room which had no blankets. The room smelled terrible because the WC tank was leaking. The WC entrance was small and I knocked my head to the wall and it was painful. It was noisy too since the neighbour was singing « Happy birthday « at 2 am.
We talked to the staff and they gave us a better room for the second night.
I don’t recommend that hotel at all since it has very poor and cheap management.

This accomodation couldn’t be anymore convenient. From the daily breakfast(gluten free options) which was great.Hotel Gioia was in an amazing location. In the heart of Florence. Easy walk to restaurants, transportation to the local landmarks and attractions.
We didn’t need to use any public transport till we left Florence. Clean and tidy and the staff are super friendly. One of our best stays while travelling in Europe. Thank you for the wonderful memories our family have made in this beautiful city.
Would love to come back and stay here again.

Comfortable hotel and good location

Overall a good hotel and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and nice.
The location is good as it is close to Florence Dome and other tourist attractions.
A minor downside is navigating through the corridors to reach your room when you have luggage. There are multiple stairs that you have to take where the elevator doesn’t go so it makes it challenging
But overall a good hotel

Amazing amazing amazing stay!!! We had to book last minute after an issue with our planned VRBO stay, and the hotel staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The hotels location was excellent and right near the major sites to see, as well as a clean & wonderful room.

This is not a 3-star hotel. This is a 2-star hotel in a convenient area. The staff has decent customer service skills. My room was terrible. The AC was freezing when it was on, and the room was too hot when off. The beds were uncomfortable and the room was run-down. Considering what I paid, it was not worth it at all. I realize I went at a busy time, but if you are charging that rate, the rooms have to be in better shape, no matter how busy Florence is.

When I messaged the property about where to park when I arrived, nobody responded. The hotel’s first floor smelled horrible like raw sewage (no exaggeration). Breakfast was terrible-I’m sure the pastries were previously frozen and thawed (many other hotels we have been at around the area serve fresh pastries). Lastly, I didn’t have a hair dryer in my room which is something that all other hotels offer.

Great location. Spacious rooms with mini fridge, AC, high feelings and comfy bed. Breakfast is basic (toasts, fruit, juice Nutella spread, honey, cheese) but ok. WiFi wasn’t the strongest but except for a couple of times when It stopped streaming Netflix, it worked just ok. I’d stay here again. Very friendly staff.

Excellent location. 5 mins from the Duomo and the museums. If you are driving and parking here. Slightly difficult to negotiate the streets inner city, but park right out front, get your bags and within 15 mins a driver will valet park your car for €24 a day, which is great, if like us you are doing a driving tour of Italy. If you are going by train , it too is round nearby to the station. Staff are very friendly and helpful

I loved how close it was to all the places we wanted to go. Take a straight walk from this hotel to ponte vecchio (only 10 min!) and you will pass by many beautiful architectures. Good for the price!

Comforting hotel in center of Florence

We decided to stay here for a night and arrived by train at 9am. We went to the hotel and asked if we could leave our luggage while we walked around and waited until their 2pm check in time. To our surprise he found us a room that was ready and let us check in early! The helpers there are really nice as well. The hotel is nice with your basic needs. Beds are okay nothing fancy. I rated the cleanliness ok because we found a couple long hairs in the extra blankets they store in the closet which means they probably don’t wash them like they do the bedding. That was not a deal breaker for me. This hotel is very well located in Florence and the staff was great. Would definitely come here again if we’re lucky enough to come back to Florence one day. Thank you!

This was a good location and walking distance to the big sites and train station. However it was located on a busy street where you can hear the ambulances go by all night and the garbage pick up every few hours. The staff was extremely friendly. The breakfast was yogurt and a few biscuits. Overall it was a decent place.

Welcoming in Florence

This is a quaint hotel located 15 minutes from the train and 5 minutes from the Galleria Della Accedmia. With the elevator in place you go up one floor to the reception area and it was an easy check in. It's an older hotel but very spacious. The staff is amazing, friendly and very welcoming. The only unique character was you left your key when you left which in all honesty was quite nice since it's one less time thing I had to worry about. Truly a wonderful stay!

This hotel was great! It's so conveniently located near all the historic sites. The room was spacious, comfortable and clean. There was virtually no noise from the street. The staff were incredibly helpful. They gave us 4 great restaurant recommendations and were always as nice, polite and friendly as they could be. If I'm ever in Florence again, I would definitely stay here again.

Run down hotel in an ok location

Room was in very poor condition. It had one window and minimal light which made it dark and gloomy all day. The bathroom was tiny and in need of a good clean and renovation- it had a terrible smell. The toilet ran continually all night and when we asked if they could fix it, they told us it was just old and that is how it was.
I would not ever set foot in this place again. Much better hotels avaiable in the area for similar prices.

It was hard to find Dandi Domus initially, there is no big sign indicating you were at Dandi Domus so if you don't have Google Maps or a navigation you'd never know if you were there or not. Mara was cool, she gave us maps and her number in case we needed anything. Room was clean and the beds were made every morning. You get your money's worth so we were quite happy with the stay.

Desk staff was amazingly nice---offered us water when we arrived hot and tired, made some excellent restaurant recommendations, accommodated us with early breakfast when we needed to catch a train on the last day.

Once through the less than inviting street entrance we were greeted by kind, helpful and friendly staff (without exception). Our room was large, airy, spotlessly clean and with a huge terrace. Located very close to the Duomo and Accademia, and ideal for a short break.

The location of the hotel is what attracted me to it and was a great base to explore Florence. Staff were lovely even though different styles. Breakfast was a little disappointing but enough to stop the hunger and get you out for the day. Building is old but they have done what they can with it and our room was very large and had a small fridge which was great. Room serviced each day and water pressure was good. Lounge area was a nice touch and the lift was very welcome after walking around all day. Would recommend if you are in Florence as a tourist and want to be close to the train station and attractions. We walked everywhere and didn't need any public transport.

Budget Hotel in a good location

We booked this hotel for its value for money, and did not expect much. However the rooms are a fair size and have all the amenities you would need, and although breakfast was basic, it was included int the price! The hotel itself is very very dated and was a bit of a shock when we got there, however the staff were very friendly, the room clean and the hotel only a 5-10 minute walk from the centre of Florence. The location was excellent, and beacuse we were only there for 2 nights & barely in the hotel it was good for us. I wouldn't reccomend bokoing this hotel for a luxuryious/romantic stay, but its great for the budget traveller, and there is a good tour agency (My Tours) located just down the road to explore outside of Florence.

The staff were extremely friendly. Hotel looks a bit run down, but if it's loacation you're after, this place is perfect. A 2 minute walk to statue of David, 5 min to pointe vecchio. Lots of shopping within a 2 minute walk

If you are interested in exploring Florence, you are going to have to walk a bit. This hotel is a short walk from the Duomo and every other major sight is very walkable. We walked from the train station and it was no problem. The room we had was very basic, and it is a 3 star but the staff were very friendly and accommodating and I would not hesitate to recommend the place or stay here again.

Hotel Gioia was an enjoyable stay. The staff is excellent. Each staff member we came in contact with had a smile on their face and was anxious to answer any question or concern. The location is fantastic! The Duomo is 5 minutes or less and the train station is an easy walk. Our room had a step up and a step down in the room and the bathroom was very small, but with hotels in the older parts of the city center this is fairly common. Overall a very pleasant stay and would consider staying there again.

Nice hotel. Not recommended to walk to from station with lots of luggage. Take taxi-less than 10 euro. You'll thank me later. Breakfast was kind of lacking. Espresso and cappuccino were good though. Our room was large. Noise from street didn't bother us, added to the experience. Room was fine. Temperature good. Bed comfy enough. Bathroom long and narrow but got the job done. Safe for valuables was there. Felt safe. Not the most luggage friendly to lug through tiny elevator and up and down small flights of stairs. But I'm sure they can help if needed. Staff were friendly.

Pros: Location, cleanliness (some stains on shower enclosure, but nothing too dramatic), tremendous friendliness of the majority of the staff. Availability of a 3 bed room, good AC in our room (although I understand that our room may have been an exception for this at this hotel) Cons: Small room size (typical throughout much of Europe), little room to put things in bathroom, tiny shower, 1 grumpy night staff (although he still did things, just wasn't pleasant about it).

You cannot beat the location - 10 minute walk from the central train station; 5 minute walk to see David, 10 minute walk to Duomo; 15 to Uffizi; 10 minute walk to an array of wonderful restaurants. The staff were very helpful and did so with a smile. Our room was quiet and clean. Clearly recommend this hotel for those not seeking 4 star quality rather all of the above.

We loved this hotel in Florence! It's about a 5 minute walk to the Duomo and is surrounded by great restaurants. The staff at this hotel were amazing, they were so sweet each morning for breakfast and very kind as you walked into the hotel each day. The hotel is not updated but it is truly a charming hotel!

Bad but not the worst

I understand that given what I paid I should not expect much, but there are still things that are way below my expectations. Dirty room with weird smell. Opened the wardrobe once for a second then shut the door and never touched it again. The bed sheet is not even large enough to cover the whole bed. My feet stays in touch with the mattress the whole night. Stains here and there. Right besides a noisy street and you can hear everything on the street.
