Hotel however is overpriced and absolutely not worth £300 a night, minibar prices are okay for soft drinks. Spirits very expensive.

Restaurant lacked choice and was £20 for a small bit of stone bass.

Room was spotless, The use of the Virgin gym facilities was fantastic. Staff were very helpful and brough a kettle to the room when asked. It was very quiet on Friday but sadly it was noisy and difficult to sleep on Saturday night due to the cars racing around outside the hotel in the underground area of canary wharf. Better to be on the River side that the city side of the hotel during the weekend

The rooms and hotel was awesome however the location of our room faced a busy road and was pretty noisy all night like you was on the side of a formula one track. But the hotel and staff itself was absolutely perfect. The location was also good in terms of being able to just stroll into Canary Wharf. Just a shame about the noise of the road but no fault of the hotel.

The staff at the hotel were rude and incompetent. We had included breakfasts with one of our rooms. Every morning we had to fight with the staff that breakfast was included, which was an unpleasant start to our day. When we checked out, the breakfasts were charged. They wouldn't let us talk to management. They never worked it out with us. We would not have paid 66 pounds per day for breakfast that wasn't very good. The experience ruined our stay in London.

This is an old five star hotel and it shows. Very dated rooms and common areas. Staff at reception were friendly. Seemed to have run of shower gel while we were there which was bizarre. Nice location by the river.

Fantastic stay at this lovely hotel for our anniversary
A quick phone call in the morning of our stay to Dalo on reception to mention about it being our anniversary and if he could arrange for something special to be done, on arrival we had been given a free upgrade to a river view room and a lovely suprise on arrival in the room
On arrival Dalo was still on reception and couldn't have been nicer and helpful along with the concierge who met us at the door with a smile
Hotel and room was immaculately clean and will definitely stay at this quality hotel again

A room with a view

This hotel is in a perfect location in Canary Wharf on the banks of the river and perfect for exploring London by the Thames Uber boat. We visited Greenwich Park for the best view of London. The rooms are more spacious than most hotel rooms and have amazing views over the London skyline. This is the only hotel in London where I am happy to drive and park. A special thank you to the concierge who was extremely helpful.

What a great hotel

The hotel is perfectly located for great local restaurants, bars, green spaces and riverside walks. The rooms are spacious, well equipped and nicely designed. The bed was super comfy and our view across the river was enchanting.

The staff were kind and very helpful and couldn’t do enough to make our stay memorable.

Having complimentary access to the great pool and spa was a real bonus as was being right next to the pier so you could get the boat into central London.

We can’t recommend it more highly and are looking forward to staying again.

Would not agree this is a 5 star hotel there were marks down the wall next to the bed dare to think what it was, no tea or coffee facilities in the room or iron and the service at breakfast was terrible and on second morning it was 45 mins for two sets of poached eggs appeared
To be short staffed given that I spent nearly £1000 in the hotel I have had better service at a premier inn and would not recommend this hotel to anyone

Classic Hotels Never Disappoint

Superb service from the minute I walked in. Nothing was too much trouble. Great help with parking, my two dogs no problem and no extra cost. The room very well-proportioned and the hotel itself just very peaceful.

It's got that sort of '90s American hotel charm about it, but what it lacks in modern decor, it makes up for in terms of space and comfort.

Couldn’t fault the hotel itself or the concierge staff, all staff very polite but very slow service. Asked for early check in when booking a week before stay, didn’t get any response until the morning of check in but was not available. Arrived a couple hours early and was able to leave luggage which was handy. Upon arriving 10mins before check in time the room was still not ready and had to wait 30mins after check in time due to their system not accepting my deposit for damages/mini bar. When requesting certain items they were very slow to provide. Very noisy outside at 1am which wasn’t the hotels fault. 2 hours before check out somebody entered our room for some unknown reason, realising it was occupied and left. My partner was on the bed in her underwear!!!

This hotel stay was very pleasant. It has a bright and voluminous grand lobby with dining and beverage facilities. The staff is extremely welcoming and attentive and go above and beyond to enthusiastically respond to requests. The room is bright and spacious with a large bathroom with all amenities! The view of the river is spectacular and the pool house is impressive with extra long pool with multiple lanes for laps. Our stay was brief but overall exceeded expectations!

Plenty of 4* hotels in the area which are infinitely better. If you are looking for somewhere special this isn’t the place.

I do not think that you can claim to have a pool if it’s not in the same building, particularly if it’s a rigmarole to use it.
Being woken up by a fire alarm because of a mistake is not great.
The bed was not very comfortable and room service slow and limited.

We needed a place to stay for an unforeseen day and a half layover resulting from a missed flight (airline’s fault). We got there and just needed to sleep after the horrible travel day we had. They let us extend our late checkout until 3pm. 3pm!!!! I’d never heard of it and it was so welcomed. Also, love the access to Virgin Active pool (where James Bond Skyfall filmed a scene). Hotel room was spacious, the bed had comfy pillows clad in fine silky Egyptian cotton. Our free breakfast was delicious!!! They have their croissants supplied by Delice de France and were so delicious!!!

A bit on the pricey side for a quick stay but glad we did it. It reset my attitudw about London again. Will stay again for sure.

Good but a bit of a hassle for the pool

Overall it was a fantastic stay being that the staff were so accomodating with our requests due to bad weather. However, we felt like the time for kids to use the amenities were too limited to 2 hours only from 8:00-10:30, also due to the rains, we found it very inconvenient to have to walk outside the hotel even if it was just a short walk, being as it was a risk for safety. It’s a bit impractical to have the pool and virgin center outside the hotel

Management/ pay for water bottles from fridge

The staff wasn’t friendly and good. On our check out , I couldn’t believe when the front desk lady asked us to pay for the water bottles we used from the fridge. She said we could have the water if it was on the table. But if we took the same water from fridge then we pay, I mean you pay about £400/ might for your stay and they can’t give water.

Late night when we came back, the reception refused to provide water.

When we checked in , the manager didn’t know how to check us in and rang a senior for help. With a toddler and 5 hours journey from Bolton, that was a lot of hassle.

Canary Wharf Riverside Plaza Hotel Very Poor.

No Tea or coffee making facilities were in the room and when asked to supply the reply was ring back at 08:00. No 24hr room service was available and the Lounge Bar ran out off food in the afternoon. After paying a deposit of £150 to reception still waiting for balance after checking out. Luckily there was a delightful cafe only two minutes away ‘Berra’. I would never stay at this supposedly 5 star hotel again.

Fun location, light fingered staff

The location and views from the hotel are just stunning. We booked a suite for a lovely couple of days in the city but without the want for a cramped room and boring views. Having stayed at other famous hotels locally we looked forward to the unique perspective the Plaza presents, with the water taxi pier almost at the front door.
Sadly a bag of Birthday fairly low value gifts were removed from our room, we initially thought this was an error by one of the employees but have since moved to the conclusion sadly they were stolen. The security officer handling to situation seemed genuine at the time, checking CCTV to confirm we had returned from shopping with the items when we said we had. But once we had left to return home we didn’t hear back for over a week, stating there was no CCTV in the corridor and that there was no evidence that the bag had been in the room. A tone in stark contrast to the one presented to ourselves on site, it was as though the hotel didn’t care.
Sadly what had fast become a new hide away up town, was reduced to the north return list. As owners of hospitality venues it’s about understanding the situation the owners sadly misread this one. For 10% of our stay, a voucher for for a low amount would have seen us return several times a year,

Awful bar service

As a gold member the booking had a late checkout and free drink.
I had to ask for the late check out and drink then only did the check in staff acknowledge this. That’s fine. But the problem was at the bar….
I had a 7.45pm restaurant reservation because to the hotel.
At 7pm I went to the bar for the complimentary drink. The two people at the bar didn’t have a clue what drinks were complimentary. One said he will find out. It took him 20mins. I was losing time for my dinner booking so we ordered two drinks off the menu. He came back to tell me only wine, beer and soft drinks are free. I said okay. But we have already ordered as we need to leave for the dinner reservation. No apology, nothing. I paid £31 for two drinks. Considering the place was empty and they worked in the bar- how did they not know this basic information? This wasn’t good. To be honest they should have given us the drinks. Or at least one complimentary. Nothing.
So what was the point of a welcome/complimentary drink?

For a 5 star i wasnt impressed. Despite bookings in advance qith info that we weee a famiky of three, the room did not have 3 cups, 3 glasses 3 bathrobes. There was a film of dust on the surfaces under TV
The cleaner that cleaned our bathroom and made beds was wonderful but used cups and glasses were not cleaned or replaced. Whilst i liked canary wharf area the price fir 3 nights was very expensive but not good value. We liked Cataldo at the bar!

Rooms are tired and in need of an update. There is renovation work going on in the reception area. There were no bottles of water in the room. The only option for breakfast was full English.

The best thing about this hotel is access the the Virgin Spa which is lovely. The location also good.

The hotel is tired looking & in need of a make over. There was work going on in the lobby. The breakfast options very limited & over priced £26pp! We left & went to cafe on the corner (Brere) which was half the price & tasty.
The room lacked extras eg no disposable slippers, toothbrush, glass, tea/coffee in room for a deluxe room or items to purchase from fridge mini bar - all safely possible even with Covid. Feels like they using Covid as an excuse not to provide the extras we paid for!
The doors to the hotel & inside lift were very grubby & no one cleaned them during our stay as they the same the next day - in fact we didn’t see anyone clean any communal areas & only saw a hand sanitizer by lift.
The lift stopped working to 4th for and I opted to walk whilst my husband went up to the 5th floor with other guests & walked down a flight. The pass to open the gate to renter the hotel from the spa didn’t work so we had to walk around too.
This was a supposed to be a special treat for my birthday but it did not feel like it staying here. Very disappointed. We did mention it was my birthday to the lady who checked us in & given that the hotel was not fully booked she didn’t offer a free upgrade - we paid £40 extra for this & feel cheated! A pretty poor show.

We very much enjoyed the virgin spa next door. And the bath in the room was very deep and hot water redily available. Staff were nice and pleasent. The hotel was undergoing renovation inside. We didnt get our free drink on arrival and the nkise outside while trying to sleep was awful. The windows were sound proof but there was crazy bangs like multiple car crashes. Called to reception but no answer. Was a rough night sleep. Room was great. No kettle or coffee or cups. So morning after a rough night was awful.

sadly all the restrictions meant that there was nothing 5star about this hotel. it was a shell of a room, nowhere to buy or order even a soft drink, had to request tea/coffee in room. very expensive for nothing better than a travelodge. HOWEVER management were lovely. apologised and requested to give them another chance when they are able to show what they can really do.
