On arrival noticed carpets in reception and hallways were fraying
Room was on initial arrival found to be clean but having needed to move a bedside table it was filthy
Only 1 towel and half a toilet roll for a 2 night stay for 2 of us (replacement given on request
Shower pressure could be better
Greeted on arrival with a £5 charge for parking in cash which was not advertised
Bed comfortable and bedding clean.
Paper thin walls could hear next rooms TV clearly early hours of morning
In summary convenient location and if you are happy with accommodation on a budget this fits the bill

- one star. Nothing right with this place. No smoking in the room or anywhere else and yet the room smelled of somebody smoked in there. Therefore, window was opened even though temperature outside was a minus. General condition of amenities, furniture etc are so dated and old. Can’t really add much as we only stayed fro few minutes and left

Very basic. My room was pretty dirty. Behind the bedside table looked like it had never been hoovered. The shelves in the wardrobe were dusty. When I put my makeup bag away in there it was covered in dust.
That said the bedding was clean.
I stayed for 3 nights as was working in the area. For that length I wouldn’t recommend. The walls are thin and the last night I could hear next door snoring all night.
I gave it 3 stars because the hospitality of the gentleman who checked me in was lovely. He helped me with my bags.
Shame really because if it was given a bit of TLC it would be a lovely place to stay.

Do not book this hotel, in the back of an awful housing estate this place is run down and has health and safety issues - came up as 4 star on Expedia but is anything but… where do I start!
Looked out the bathroom window bags of rubbish and loads of garden waste.
The room was filthy dead insects in the bed, a filthy bathroom with no bathroom or even soap to wash yourself in the shower. No ventilation, a lamp that was ripped. The TV was decades old with a greasy remote, stained carpet, dirty sofa, filthy curtains, charges £5 pounds for their rubbish filled carpark - the reception guy okay but the hotel shouldn’t be open or on Expedia for people to book.
I left after 1.5 hours and booked myself into another hotel.

The room was very cold and not clean. There was a leak in the bathroom making the floor wet. The room smelt of cooking and just was unacceptable. We couldn’t stay. We left and stayed elsewhere which was a huge waste of money but we just didn’t want to sleep in that horrible place.

The check in was a disaster. On arrival there were other guests who’d been waiting to check in over an hour. The numbers left on reception to call did not work. After about another 30 minutes one of the guys managed to get an alternative number from his agency (the hotels.com bot was useless) there was only one line so it took ages to get through. The person required me to send a copy of ID by email, I don’t carry ID so had to get someone from home to send it. Eventually they sent me an email with my room number and how to check in, there was another guest already in the room, I had to call back and get it changed. Very painful will never stay here again. When you look at the state of the reception and sign not saying not to smoke weed you can tell what sort of place this is. In fairness the room was ok for the money.

Don’t bother

Check in was simple, got a text prior explaining things so never actually saw any members off staff. The room is nothing like pictured, double bed not a queen size bed, furnishings need updating and are worn out. Room wasn’t clean, cobwebs, every cushion on the sofa has worrying stains, shower was full of limescale, door handles are wobbly. It’s a handyman’s dream so take your tools!

The room reeked of urine . No one could sleep there. Carpet was filthy . Reception was remotely manned, wires hanging out and grubby.
The description of the lodge is incorrect and miss leading.
I complained and was given another room that was acceptable.

Arrived before the reception closed. Sign provided contact numbers to call and a bell to be checked in.
Bell didn’t work, both phone numbers provided did not work.
Only by chance another guest came in and gave us a completely new telephone number to call (which was not written down anywhere else).
No receptionist on duty and a random other guest showed us to the rooms, where the keys were already inside the rooms.
Beds/linen were awful. Thin and uncomfortable.
Bathrooms were clean however.
Would not recommend to anyone who wasn’t used to living in student accommodation for the last couple of years.

Stains on bed, regular disturbing fire alarm tests in the morning, lights randomly power off and can't be turned back on, staff does not handle issues you express to them, dusty filthy room, old tv with old remote that doesn't have a back cover to hold the batteries, and worst of all no hot water showers. The shower stays freezing cold even when you put it on the highest heat. Then paying to go to and from london each day will be like 60+ dollars, so you might as well use the extra money to get a nicer more convenient hotel than this dump

Worst Room I’ve ever booked through Hotels.com

On Arrival at 15:00 no one on desk. After about 15 minutes of waiting we had a video call asking us for booking numbers to find that out of the two rooms I book only one was available, it then took 2 hours to sort out the other room (no apologies) room booked was a Deluxe Double - this had two single mattresses pushed together to make a double bed ( one was slightly higher than the other make a very unpleasant sleep 👎 room was small, dusty and very unpleasant

I had a 'deluxe' double room. There was no milk for my coffee and no toiletries, just a bottle of soap on the side of the sink. There were cobwebs everywhere and a funny smell from the bathroom.
Never again I think is an understatement. I know it's cheap, but I'd rather fork out an extra tenner to get a travelodge or anywhere else TBH.

Stay away!!

First impressions were that the hotel didn’t look as nice as the pictures but we only needed a place to sleep as we travelled (by car starting at 10am, we arrived around 6.40pm) to another destination. Rang the bell to call someone to reception, the gentleman who arrived was polite and friendly. The establishment and rooms smelt musty, and everything was very dated. After being in the room a little longer, we noticed that there were many areas of improvement, and cleaning. For both health and safety! Electrics of the main light on show. Dirty glass. Cups stuck to saucers. Dead silverfish in bathroom. Build up of limescale and dirty shower. The bathroom tap was loose and rusty. Sign in reception asking for “no smoking of weed”. The bed and toilet were surprisingly clean! There were no other establishments available in the area for us to go elsewhere. Whilst one member of the booking was in the shower (I personally refused to use it), the shower head fell on them. Through the night, the walls appeared to be paper thin! Could hear bathrooms, stomping from rooms above, coughing and people in other rooms awake/loud into the early hours (up to 3am). Leather wallet was damaged after it was placed on a wooden dresser, this did not appear sticky etc for an damage to be caused, but you’ll see from the image added it was damaged because it became stuck to the dresser. Unfortunately, there is a limit of 8 photos, but there were many more. Couldn’t wait to leave. Won’t be returning.

Shabby, grubby and dusty and the bed was too small

We paid for a ‘deluxe room’ which included a queen bed which we needed because of shoulder issues.
However, it was just a normal double which was not big enough and when we mentioned this, they offered to move us the following day at a time we were not going to be in.
Also, the room was filthy. There was dust everywhere, the desk was covered in dirt and grime and the whole room, sold as ‘deluxe’ was far from that.
In fact, it was shabby and grubby and not what I expected.
The guy on reception was very nice - but for the most part I did not see anyone on reception.

The room had an unpleasant odour. The carpet wasn't clean. The TV screen and remote were grimy. The towels were clean, but again had an unpleasant odour.
On the plus side, the bed was clean and comfortable.
Access to the hotel after 9.00pm required a password and technique to open the entrance door. It needed 5 attempts to be successful. Not the standard I'm used.

People kept on ramming on the window shouting LET ME IN. The doorbell was broken. Took staff 5 min to even come to the reception. When ringing the number it kept on saying sorry, phone number not available. The only good thing about the hotel was the bed and shower. Even the carpet was dirty. My Grandson kept on sneezing because of the constant dust falling from the ceiling even at night time. Not what I was expecting from a 3 star hotel.

Bizarre building in the middle of housing estate!
But checking was smooth (strictly not before 3pm). Parking £5.
Room small but spotless. Bathroom clean. Area in quiet but walls thin so some sounds from other rooms, but overall quiet.
Door handles droopy and could do with replacing!
Perfect location for events at K2.
Would definitely stay here again.

Dreadful place to stay. There was strange smell in whole of the property. This is a run down place, though thr bed was clean and towels were provided so was a kettle for tea/coffee.

The receiptioinst was friendly and helpful.

You get what you pay for, or may be even less in this case.

I’m sure Barrington lodge at one time was a great place to stay… everything was a little dated and not much has been done in the way of upgrades.. the room itself was ok, beds and linen were fresh but the bathroom and shower looked like they hadn’t been cleaned since the last occupants… price was good but one night was enough. I was ok with the condition but there is no way my wife would have stayed there. Nothing around the area in the way of amenities.. uber is your friend…

We had a one night stay with the family. We checked in the afternoon then spent the day with family and came back to the room late at night to sleep. The hotel gave clear instructions on how to enter the hotel after hours which we found very useful and gives a sense of security. The room felt like it had not been aired out in preparation for guests. The bathroom was quite dusty and aged, needed thorough cleaning and/or upgrading. The family room had two double beds separated by a drawer with a TV on top. The beds were comfortable and we slept very well. The hotel is in a quiet area. The parking is very minimal, luckily there was space when we arrived.

Stayed with my 3 daughters for 1 night, beautiful building hidden away amongst the houses, great welcome from the man at the desk, great sized family room, my youngest asked if we could live there! Does need modernising in some areas and a deep clean but we would stay again. Very good price too.
