The Fairfield Hotel was excellent. There was a great selection of foods for breakfast. The only disappointment was that there was not an airport shuttle available. I scheduled this Hotel because it listed an airport shuttle in the amenities list.

This place has a guest laundry but the washer and dryer only accepts quarters. Guess what? The front desk has no quarters. None. And they had no detergent. I had to go off the property to purchase laundry detergent ($11) and 3 separate restaurants nearby to get enough quarters to wash a load of clothes. The appliances worked fine as long as you fed them quarters. They charge $2.50 for a soda but you have to give them $3.00 because they have no quarters. When I checked out and got my bill, it was what I expected to pay. However, when I arrived at home and checked by bank account, my card was charged $326.33 more the amount that was on my checkout receipt. When I contacted them they said I should see a correction in about a week and if not then call back. A week? That's pretty tough on someone with a fixed income. An electronic transaction only takes a second. I would have given 4 or even 5 stars other than these issues. My room was clean, amenities were good, breakfast was good, staff was friendly but the manager doesn't see fit to provide change for purchasing items from their Market Place or laundry. If these are issues important to you, bring plenty of quarters.

The staff was super friendly and went over and above what I have learned to expect from corporate enterprises.
This location doesn’t have an airport shuttle anymore, but the listing still shows it does. I found out at check in and searched the local area for other stay options, finally chose Lyft and finished my check in.
After check in, the manager got back to the front desk and offered to reduce my rate. I told them I really appreciated the offer, but the LYFT was less than $20 so it wasn’t necessary. When I checked out in the morning my room rate had been adjusted anyway.
THANK YOU for the exceptional consideration.

In these days of uber/lyft and other options that are available on apps that consumers are enthralled with. I guess ridership of shuttles maybe reduced and make them a budget issue. With my calls to other hotels in the area it’s a pattern that they are all dropping airport shuttle services.
I remember as a kid airport shuttles weren’t free, but they were about have the price of a cab.l, and charged per rider. This could workout to be a better option for hotels than just going from free to none. Even subcontracting to a private carrier, or talking with uber/Lyft to offer discounted rates from hotels. I notice LYFT already recognized the hotel I was in, it wouldn’t be hard assign a geofence for participating hotels discounts.

Just a thought.
And Thanks again for an excellent stay

I needed a hotel close to LEX airport, this property does bait and switch, they advertise with an airport shuttle to later find out they don't have one... The front desk personnel mentioned that he has brought it up to management before however as of 5/12/26 it is still misleading.

Getting from / to airport you need to factor paying for your own transportation.

There was a strong chemical smell permeating the hotel. I could not stay there. I left very frustrated and had to book another room.

The clerk admitted they were doing work in the hotel. They should not have even booked the room with that going on. It was awful. As you can see, I booked another room on the same night at The Elwood.

I have been a loyal user of Hotels.com, but this is a deal killer if I don’t get at least a credit for this awful experience.

Also , not the hotels problem but I had googled closest hotels to St Joseph Hospital and hotels.com popped up and I assumed when i booked this hotel, it was within like 2.5 miles from hospital and it wasn't. So hotels.com needs to step of they're internet advertising.

Exceptional? Nope - just average and not cheap

The reviews said exceptional but we found it average. Dated looking interior and bathrooms small and in need of work (see photos of areas around tub - yuk) typical mediocre hotel breakfast foods. Staff were friendly, bed was ok and the room seemed clean. I just expected a lot more for the price and the reviews. Didn’t appreciate the surprise charge for parking. Glad I did not expect to use the pool - closed & under construction. False fire alarm that got us out of bed didn’t help either.

I travel frequently with my DeafBlind son. We always stay at a hotel near an airport with free shuttle service and a complimentary breakfast. That is why I chose the Fairfield Inn Keenland. I called the front desk prior to arrival and got info on the shuttle. When I called I was told there might be a problem. Subsequently I was told the shuttle would not come and we should take a taxi and they would pay for it. When we got to the hotel I was told I had to pay for the taxi and the charge would be deducted from room charge. Upon check out they said that would not be the case since I booked through Expedia. I booked through you. I am a BonVoy member. The shuttle was supposed to take us back to the airport but we had to Uber. I will get my $50.00 back.

We paid over $200 for a one night stay so that my young granddaughters could go swimming for the evening. NOWHERE when booking this room was there any information stating that the pool was unavailable and out of service for remodeling. We could not get a refund and go to a nearby hotel that had a pool, making our entire stay a worthless ripoff. And on top of this total disappointment, the entire hotel wreaked of mold and mildew. Should have stayed at the Hilton…I think even the local motel would have been better.
